We went as a group of 3 and we are not small people (lol) but we stayed comfortably in the room. Breakfast was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the care and attention given to every guest experience. They also have another place in Venice and we went there for lunch and the owner also provided great hospitality. We were so appreciative.
We wholeheartedly recommend Chiara Lodge to anyone seeking comfort, charm, and outstanding service. About 5 mins walk to bus station and the train station…we will definitely return! Thank you.

Broken air conditioning. Hard uncomfortable bed
The air conditioning didn't work. It was very hot. The shower was way too small to be able to get clean. It was only 2 foot by 2 foot. So all you could do is stand straight up in down in it. You could not wash your legs or arms because there was no room to move. They did not provide wash clothes. There was a very small bottle of something, but no way to tell if it was shampoo, body wash, or what??? So you have to bring your own toiletries for everything and your own wash cloth. The bed was hard. Only one flat pillow provided per person. Very uncomfortable and hard to sleep.

We didn't receive our room number and code before we arrived. There isn't a lobby area. Fortunately a person was leaving the building and we were able to get in. The cleaning person called and the person she talked to emailed us the correct code. We did arrive before check-in time so maybe we would have received the code if we arrived later. No place to store luggage if you arrive early.

Good location, close to train station and bus stop for commuting to Venice. Room was comfortable, clean and newly updated, although on the smaller side. Safe and AC in the room were appreciated. Breakfast was very good- some thing for all tastes, from scrambled eggs & bacon to fresh fruit salad & yogurt. The Vero Espresso/Coffee machine was a nice perk. Staff were very helpful (provided restaurant recommendations & transportation directions) and friendly. Bus to Venice has a stop just at the end of the street- about a block away. Very convenient.

Booking and communication: Booking was very easy using Hotels.com. Davy responded promptly to my requests such as request to leave our luggage for early check-in/late check-out; assistance for hotel transfer, etc.
Location: Chiara Lodge is in Mestre, Venice-- a 10-15 minutes train ride or by bus to Venice. It is so convenient to get to the train station- just a short walk away. Much closer is the bus station- and the bus tickets can be bought from the Tabacchi stores on the main street for 1.5 euro (some sell for 2 euro). There are several restaurants/cafes and a big grocery store nearby on the main street- so convenient for snacks and drinks.
Rooms: The rooms are in excellent condition- so clean and comfortable; the bathrooms are big and amenities are good.
Breakfast: A wide choice of breakfast fare is available-several coffee selections, pastries, fruits, and hot food like eggs, bacons, and sausages. It is a filling breakfast enough to fuel you for early dinner.
The owners: Davy and Yvan are the most hospitable hosts-they will do and make everything possible to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Thank you so much! We miss you already!

Much closer is the bus station- and the bus tickets can be bought from the Tabacchi stores on the main street for 1.5 euro (some sell for 2 euro). There are several restaurants/cafes and a big grocery store nearby on the main street- so convenient for snacks and drinks.
Rooms: The rooms are in excellent condition- so clean and comfortable; the bathrooms are big and amenities are good.
Breakfast: A wide choice of breakfast fare is available-several coffee selections, pastries, fruits, and hot food like eggs, bacons, and sausages. It is a filling breakfast enough to fuel you for early dinner.
The owners: Davy and Yvan are the most hospitable hosts-they will do and make everything possible to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Thank you so much! We miss you already!

It is about a 5 min walk from the train station and about 15 min drive from the airport. It is very easy and convenient to catch the train from the train station to Venice. The place really clean and nice, they have a nice breakfast. Yvon is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is only a 6 minute walk from the Venice-Mestre train station. I would definitely recommend it is you are staying in Venice on a budget or want to treat yourself to stay in a lovely hotel. The train from Mestre to the main island of Venice is less than $2 and only a 10 minute ride, very convenient if you don't want to deal with getting your luggage to a hotel on one of the water busses in Venice.

My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Chiara Hotel. It was easy to grab a shuttle to the hotel (though next time we'll take the bus to Mestre to save $$$). Check in was easy and our room was already ready even though we arrived earlier than the check-in time. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was fantastic for a continental layout and our room was elegant and clean. Hotel is walking distance to the train station so getting into the center of venice was very easy. It was nice to stay in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of tourism within venice. Definitely worth visiting this hotel again. If you choose to stay in Mestre instead of on the island then Chiara Lodge is a great choice. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the train/bus station, and from there it's easy to get over to the island.
The lady who checked me in was extremely friendly and helpful. My room was across the street, but she explained where I needed to use my room card to get in/out of the gates and doors.
The room itself was great. Spacious, modern and clean with a comfortable bed.

Loved my quick stay at Chiara Lodge - I needed a more affordable and easier place to land for a late arrival, before heading out to Venice the next morning and Chiara was perfect in every way: lovely, clean, easy to get to, super helpful and kind staff, a yummy and diverse breafast spread. I found them to be extremely helpful in providing directions, bus tickets, restaurant recommendations, and general knowledge of the area. Both Sofia and Yvan exchanged emails with me prior to arrival. My conversations were mostly with Sofia during my stay at Chiara Lodge. Her English language skills were very good and she was a pleasure to deal with overall. If I return to this area, I would most definitely stay at Chiara Lodge again.

Room service every day, they will make your bed and take rubbish away. Breakfast could be better, no scrumble egg, sausage or bacon option - shame, lots of biscuits and tasty cakes instead. The hotel - more like a b&b - was conveniently located near the train station and a bus that takes you to Venice island. The hotel was modern and the staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable and a good shower. The only downside was that we could hear the people staying next to us who were quiet loud/chatty.

This is really a convenient place that is close to the bus stop/train station. The bus comes pretty often, so we didn't bother to take the train. The place is relatively very new. I like their decoration a lot. Bed is very comfy. Staff are really nice. The only drawback I have is that the free space (just to leave my luggage open) is very limited. Other than this, I like this place very much!

The building and the rooms are beautiful - but the neighborhood is a little rough and noisy, and we had a very very hot room. The air conditioning didn't work, and it was 28 most of the night. With the windows open it cooled down to 25 over night, but there was a lot of street noise, motorcycles, trucks, and people shouting outside.
There was a random bag of carrots left in our room - made me question the housekeeping a bit. The bathroom was beautiful - decor was lovely - but the floor was very dusty/dirty. Breakfast was average - overall I was disappointed. We tried to get some help with the air, but there was absolutely NO staff available after we checked in - it was deserted. Tried to call - no response. As single women we did appreciate the security measures - but I really felt like we needed them in that neighborhood. Quite a few rowdy drunks between 10 pm and 2 am. We didn't get much sleep. Overall it was not a good night.

This place was nice. It was very clean. The a/c did not cool like we wanted, but they did put forth an effort to get it fixed. By the third night it was working. The rooms are small, but I hear that is normal for Europe. The bus stop (we took the Express bus--30mins from the airport) and the train station (we took to Venice--10mins) are within walking distance from the hotel. The walk is easy but it is about 15 minute walk. There are a handful of nice cafes and a few grocery stores near the hotel too. All in all, it was nice. Also, the breakfast was a nice variety.
