We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Unfortunately, the air conditioning couldn't be adjusted and the temperature dropped to 19–20°C, which made it very difficult to sleep. Even though there was a blanket, the combination of cold air and noise from the AC made the room quite uncomfortable. I wasn’t able to sleep properly during my stay, which is tough when you're traveling and need rest.

On the positive side, the room had a nice marble bathtub with hot spring water, which was a great feature. I think this room would be more suitable for a short stay—maybe just a few hours or one night at most—as it's quite compact.

The staff were very friendly, and overall the hotel is good value for the price, but I wouldn't recommend staying for multiple nights unless the air conditioning issue is fixed.

Not responsive at all on Expedia. There was no shuttle from the airport option (one of our questions that were never answered by the hotel) and the local neighborhood shuttle didn’t run frequently enough for use. Even though we checked in pretty late, at about 2 AM, the housekeeping wasn’t done as there was no hand soap in the room and we found a stack of hair from previous occupants in the bathroom. However, the private onsen in the room was great and the location was ideal for exploring the Beitou area.

Loved the hot spring tub. We were given an old room. Everything was pretty old. AC doesn’t really work. Couldn’t close the shower door. Headboard is loose. Other than that it’s comfortable and the shower water and hot spring water was hot and with good pressure.

Good service. Although they are located quite far from the mtr and little bit high(even higher than the hot valley), we can call the free transport provided by the hotel. Also if you want to shop outside without the luggage after you check out or not, you can park you luggage in the lobby and the staff can take them back to the mtr to you. Thats really nice!

Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Xin Beitou Station. Breakfast acceptable; TV position a bit strange, bed's headboard not attached to bed. Onsen in-room makes it convenient but takes a long time to fill up the tub, would have preferred outdoor onsen.

Getting to hotel:
Pretty easy during the day. Get to Beitou station, ask the information counter to help you call the hotel. Take note that shuttle services take place every half hourly upon calling.
You can walk from XinBeitou station.. Be forewarned that the journey is literally an uphill one. Tiring!

Location:
Pretty close to the Thermal Valley! Need to walk a bit to get food.

Hotel staff
Depending on who you get, some are friendly some are nonchalant and just do their job.

Breakfast food
Typical taiwan-style breakfast. Good but not much variety

Rooms
The difference betwn the double rooms and the economy double rooms are vast. VERY vast. Double room = luxury. Economy = cramped (& maybe unsafe. Read below)

When I entered the economy room, the crampedness wasn't an issue for me. The issue was in the safety of the bathroom / private hot spring area. The bathroom window had blinds on it. Outside the window is a walkway which, according to the hotel, is not open to ppl. The problem? There was a ladder outside meaning repairmen do pass through. The blinds had various big gaps in between some parts, making it easy to peer in. Really. If you don't mind, then no issues.

The double room (which I upgraded to out of concern with a hefty fee because checked in) also had blinds with some gaps but it is not adjacent to a walkway for potential peeping toms since it is on a higher floor. In fact, it felt luxurious. I enjoyed the stay in this room!

Great place, value for money. Only issue is with the bed and TV placement in my room. TV is placed to the side of the bed and I can't lay lay my back against the wall as the bed has wheels without lock and will move. Couldnt enjoy watching my TV on bed.

The hotel is near the Hell Valley and Beitou garden (about 5 min or less) but quite a distance walk from Xinbeitou MRT station. Taxi fee was about 75 NTD from Xinbeitou MRT to the hotel. Hotel staff informed us that they can send our luggage to either XinBeitou or Beitou MRT station with 30 min advance booking (interval every hour) which was very nice. We walked down leisurely to the attractions and subsequently to Xinbeitou MRT station without any luggage. The room and bathroom was huge (we stayed in a 4 bedded). Bathroom was clean, however, we see dust on the curtains etc.

Very Small Room, be alert during booking

Book a room with promotion of RM198, inclusive breakfast RM218, website mentioned double bed, but during check in, the reception mentioned it was big single bed. And ask to upgrade the room into superior queen, I rejected, and indeed it was a very small room, very limited space! No place for luggage.
The spring bath is good, breakfast as well served individual, not buffet due to less guest on the date.

Second time staying and it met my expectations. I booked 3 deluxe room for total 7 pax. They managed to put us all next to each other which was appreciated by my family. Deluxe room is much better than the other lower category room at basement which was my first time staying 2 years ago. Except breakfast not much western food and choice was fair. Overall good experience.

Firstly, the staff member who greeted me did not welcome me, but promptly asked for my passport; I did not feel welcome at all. Then, after I entered my room, the electricity was not on, and I had to return to the front desk to ask them to turn it on.

As regards the room itself, it was extremely moldy and had black mold all over the top part of the ceiling. It was quite disgusting and could definitely cause illness, this is not hard for staff to notice, and the fact that they left it there for a guest to stay in shows total disregard for health, safety, and comfort of their guests. In addition, in the toilet there were small worms.

The advantage of the room is that there is a hotspring bath, but it is definitely watered down. I have experienced beitou water further up the mountain and can certainly tell that it was not entirely pure. In addition, the window view from the bath area was just a wall opposite.

In addition, the furniture in the room was quite worn out, and paint was chipping off various furnishings. There was also a large black mark on the mirror. I am not sure whether the staff felt that guests would not mind this or not, but for the rate I paid, I don't expect that kind of quality. It is very easy to find better quality for half the price in Taipei.

Liked the private hot spring tub. Great that the hotel had shuttle between beitou and new beitou stations to help deal with the uphill and downhill climb. You have to pre-arrange those.

Older hotel and rooms but great if you are primarily interested in hotspring bathing. The hotspring bathing area in the room was great. We didn't spend much time in the hotel besides that and sleeping anyway. Breakfast was cold (even the supposedly hot items) so I probably wouldn't get that again. Service was okay, it was not communicated to us that the tickets for breakfast are by date only and that we would have to pick up the next mornings ticket at the front desk on the day of. Also not sure how to keep cleaning staff out of our room since our do not disturb sign was ignored or maybe it turns off when the room key isn't in the power slot...

Hot spa experience was the highlight. Room was not clean, hairs on the floor.Iit looked like they never cleaned anything underneath tables, desks etc.

I used to stay here before, but I did stay in the Deluxe room (almost highest price room). Back in the time, the staff and room conditions were so great. However, this time I stayed in the standard room. The staff didn't treat me as good as the last time. The room conditions were not good and room smell so bad.

Okay Hotel for staying one night

This hotel is not easy to get to; however, the taxi is very inexpensive in Taiwan so you can spend a few dollars and it is not hurting your wallet if you are a budget traveler. The room is a bit small but clean. The tub is huge and it takes up a lot of space. The front desk was friendly and there was no service during breakfast (buffet style) and the food was a bit cold.

Overall, it is an okay stay if you are looking for a bargain.

Dirty bedsheets and dusty floor

The room is small. The toilet is in a small room but the water tap and sink together with the mirror are not inside the washroom, they are next to your bed. And the disgusting thing is hairs on the bedsheets before I touch the bed! Also, the floor is so dusty, I feel like they didn't sweep the floor! The only good thing is the hotspring is nice, they provided seasalt for you. And free shuttle bus to Beitou Metro every 30 minutes.

Shuttle service is provided every 30 mins to and fro the train station. Service is average. The room I stayed in is very squeezy for 2. The bathroom is a see through in the room, not suitable for friends or family.

Open Concept Bathroom, if you can accept

Room is small & cram because of the onsite hot spring & bath. Bathroom & toilet is separated away & no wash basin inside toilet. Built-in hot spring inside bathroom & transparent glass. Embarrassing when sharing room with friend, the other party has to go out of the hotel room when the other party is bathing. Should have a blind on the transparent glass, to be the same as the window so that when bathing, your roommate doesn't need to leave the room. Otherwise your roommate can see through the glass when you're bathing. Is Taiwan so open & modern with such concept?

Comfortable hotel close to attractions

The hotel was an uphill walk from the station but it was a pleasant walk which took us close to several of the attractions in Xinbeitou. The shuttle bus was great and actually took us back to Beitou station when we left. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was great and the huge soaking tub was amazing. I had expected hot spring facilities at the hotel (in addition to the in-room tub) but there were none. Breakfast was included in the price and it was generous. The large restaurant did not seem to be offering dinner. Although there were a number of guests there it was quiet and peaceful.

Although requested for room in high floor but was given a standard room in basement. Had to pay extra to upgrade. Private hot spring bath un high floor is clear water unlike in basement, was sulphur water. Staff are unhelpful. Will not return to this hotel neither will recommend. BAD is the word!

Check in was swift but room was a bit small with private hotspring tub. At 11pm front desk called us up to inform us they gave us the wrong room.Wondered what took them so long to realized their mistake? So we moved from first floor to the 7th floor (highest) to a much bigger room. Breakfast was so so. Location is within walking distance to places of interest around the neighborhood. They offer free shuttle service too but need prior reservation.

This is a old style hotel located in famous Taiwan Shin(new) Beitou area. Hotel is a old style but clean. The most good thing in this hotel is the inside bath tub for hot spring. It was just great. The bad thing was the outside view. We stayed in very edge room of 5th floor. The outside of the building was covered by neighbor building. The breakfast buffet was under average. You may aim low for that. There is no public hot spring bath. Therefore we used outside public bath. But there were so many local people.

I like the private onsen in the room. The hotel also provided salt crystal for body scrub.

I couldn't adjust the temperature of the AC becuz it was centralized. Unfortunately the temperature in the corridor was lower than that in my room.

The hotel staff was friendly and the buffet breakfast was good.

Considering the private onsen and the buffet breakfast, I will say that it is not expensive to spend a night there.

Classy and fine hotel

The hotel itself is somewhat old, but condition wise, it is kept in good conditions. The room and amenities were quite well maintained, clean and roomy. The walk was about 20 mins from the metro and be prepared to walk uphill. So taking the shuttle is totally recommended.

There was a slight issue with the bed as said by many others that they put 2 single beds together to make it a queen size, which you can potentially fall through the cracks. The water outlet of the hot spring is rather slow. It takes about 30-40mins to fill the tub. But overall, the stay was really pleasant and will decide to visit once again.

The room is pretty small. The hot spring tub in the room was great though. Air conditioning is centralized and thus the temperature cannot be controlled. There is an emergency button in the hot tub area so when there's an emergency and you press the button, the staff can get their way into the room.

We enjoyed the stay. The hotel although older was well maintained and very clean (much cleaner than the Taoyuan Novotel). Wifi was available, but was slow without password security. We enjoyed the walk up and down the hill, past the trees and heritage buildings. Parking was available, but not until we checked in. (we had hoped to park and go sightseeing but had to pay for a roadside spot because they could not accommodate us during their hotel deliveries hours.) Overall, we thought it was good and would consider going back if the price was right.

Make sure you call them to pick you up either from New Beitou MRT or Beitou; stating clear which station otherwise you have to call again. It is a pretty long walk from the New Beitou station and uphill. Room is clean and the hot tub is fun to have. Breakfast is pretty good and restaurant is nice and cozy. Staffs are helpful.

The room we stayed was suffering from wet wall and bed. Therefore, the staff upgraded our room without a word. Excellent services.

Wonderful Hotel

We stayed during Typhoon Dujuan and the staff were most helpful and wonderful with Help in cancelled Flights etc. Booked Dinner for us at 101 86 Floor. Great Breakfast Buffet. The Room Spa Pool great and next door outdoor Spa 120 degrees Will stay there again. Great Place!!!
