There is not breakfast buffet. It is only what they give you.
not enough towel in the room.

No WiFi after 10:30pm. No record of my or payment

Very frustrating... paid on line for one night and no record of it. Had to pay AGAIN with a credit card from the USA, which I didn't know they accepted them down there. Paid $ 35.20 on line and charged to my card Vs.6300.

This hotel is walking distance drom shoping area

The price per night were okay, around the hotel have 7 nice restaurants in walking distance. you hace to be on the look out while walking at night. you most alway think about your safety while on the street, keep you money is a safety place. alway be on the look out.

The hotel is in a terrible maintenance condition

-Staff is not willing to help, really disaponinting.
-Water faucets at bathroom were in terrible state. They don´t do any maintenance.
-Over all the hotel is in bad maintenance conduction.
-Neighbour building is an invasion property, Very early in the morning (4:00a.m) you hear animal noises.
-NOT recommended.

THER HOTEL IS IN A MORE POOR PART OF TOWN BUT GOOD

EXPEDIA MADE A ERRONOUS RESERVATION FOR THE 20-21 JANUARY 2014 AND I AM LEAVING THE COUNTRY 1-13-2014. I WILL DISPUTE THE CHARGE IF IT IS ON MY BILL. OTHERWISE EXPEDIA HAS BEEN GOOD FOR ME. I MOVED TO A LESS EXPENSIVE HOTEL \"THE HOTEL\" IN A VERY NICE MODERN PART OF TOWN AND AM MUCH BETTER PLEASED THAN THE CUMBERLAND. THIS AREA LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING FROM THE JETSONS.

Nice place but beware of the laundry service.

I had a very nice week long stay at Cumberland. The room was clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, the complimentary breakfast was decent, and the view from the 17th floor was....well, I wouldn't say beautiful, but pretty captivating. My only regret was using the laundry service. I expected it to be overpriced, but the charges were nothing short of absurd. You can also easily get safe and reasonably priced taxi services right outside the main entrance, which is convenient.

Convenient but needs some work

The stay was comfortable enough, but the hotel is in serious need of renovation. The elevators don't always work and are not sufficient for the hotel needs. The staff, though, are very pleasant, professional and helpful. I was there for business, so my requirements were satisfied.

It did the job, but not worth $100

The hotel did the job. I had a bed to sleep on, nothing was stolen from my room, and the free breakfast is alright. Not worth $100 a night (probably comparable to stateside hotels I've even to that charge $30 a night, but with less maintainance), but they kept it clean.

Most light switches didn't work, the shower sliding door was missing a panel, the tub drain was clogged (so you found yourself showering with a few inches of water at your ankle), the sink had a constant leak, the bed was as hard as the floor, all but one pillow was lumpy, wifi was mostly stable but was only in the lobby and was turned off at 10pm, and there were no do not disturb signs (so every mourning I had maids busting in while in my boxers). The staff was very nice , cheerful, and helpful, though. I'd say this hotels main problem was simple maintenance. You know, door knobs and loose towel racks, and things of the sort.

Over priced.
The staff at the reception desk and the cleaning staff were wonderful.
The breakfast staff was horrible. They did not clean tables on a timely manner, the food was always cold. 45 minutes before breakfast ended, they did not have food available. The staff was not friendly.

One of the two toilets in my rooms did not work from day one. Always had to wait at least 15-30 minutes for elevator. Two elevators, one was always not working. There wwere days/times both elevators were not working. One afternoon had to nap 2 hours in lobby until elevator was working. On checkout day, 5:30 AM, had to carry my luggage down from 13th floor because no elevator service. Desk clerk said there was no one to assist. 2nd day had to wait until 9PM, after many calls to front desk, to get clean towels. 2nd day had to wait until 7 PM. Last night there, the one towel had not been changed.. The most unique experience in all my years of travel.

I stayed in this hotel twice, for the first time me and my girlfriend were in the 12nd floor, the lift did not work and we had to use the stairs. The day we left the hotel we could not take a shower before leave because there was no water, according the responsible it was under maintance, it should take 15 minutes, we waited for 2 hours and nothing....

THE MOST AWFAUL HOTEL I EVER BEEN !!!!!! THE WORST

This hotel is the wort I been ever in my life, condition of the hotel is awfaul, carpet in room dirty, bathroom dirty, in very bad shape. One night I request an iron and was told thet do not let guest to iron in room but was told by the maid she could iron my cloth for a fee but could not request invoice for this service, air conditiones did not work. upon check in ( arrived at hotel al 3:15 PM ) had to wait 45 minutes to get my room, altough i asked several times i was never recive and answer. request to change rooms and was told it was impossibe. service over all not good at all. employees rude and with angry faces alwayd. TAKE AWAY THIS POPERTY FROM YOUR OPTIONS !!!! im hotelier and i know what im talking about

Too expensive to stay in Caracas. Some people were very nice but the most important thing we asked, was too give us a 6.30 morning call so we could be on time for a an important appointment.We never received it and when we asked at reception we were told that perhaps our phone was not working.

This hotel was exactly what I needed. It was very centrally located a short walk from the main metro line, and a ten minute walk to the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and the Botanical Garden. There were two very nice GYMS close by (one of them an state of the art Gold's GYM) The breakfast was generous --in fact, more like a brunch. You did not have to eat for the next 12 hours. The service was delightful, prompt and welcoming. The hotel is getting old, but it is kept up. While everyone told me to be careful, I felt very safe and protected in the area. There were all kinds of security personnel at all time. This was a great deal.

The worse hotel

The most derty and desorginize hotel I stated in my traveling days, I tryed to get change to a clean room, the carpet is disgusting I could not walk without shoes, with not towels available until 10pm and was impossible to get other room, to get internet you have to make an extra deposit of US$60.00 and for remote control for the tv $10.00, please do not include it for travelers to make a mistake and to book it.

Don't even bother saving yourself for staying at this Hotel

I;ve had bad experiences with Hotel in the past but with this one was the worst experience ever. First, the Hotel didn't have my reservation ready, then after I found the area is located in Red Zone right besides and occupied building in an non-safe area.

The rooms are old and noisy. There is no internet unless you give a deposit of 50USD and they give you a modem with an ethernet cable. I didn't have shampoo and soap for 2 days and barely had towels. The bulb of one of the lamps didn't work. I had to change the remote control 3 times! at the end they just moved me to another room. The Hotel needs maintenance and a the carpet is super old that it smells.

I know it's expensive to book a room in a Hotel in Caracas but give yourself a favor and spend extra 50USD for a nice and decent Hotel.

The staff at the end were friendly and tried to help many times but this experience made my trip to Caracas very uncomfortable..

worth a one night stay

caracas is a very dangerous place, for tourists and venezuelans alike. no matter what. if you ask any venezuelan they suggest not to walk around after dark, in any neighborhood, as this hotel stands this applies greatly.
- this hotel is not in the safest neighborhood, you can expect to hear the sounds of gunfire and fireworks throughout the night. and you cannot rely on the bar to be open, or to be able to walk to a nearby bar and be safe and sound.
- to sum it up this is more of a motel & not a hotel the condition of the rooms are not excellent, everything from the bedding to the bathrooms are a little dingy, but if you happen to be staying in caracas for only one night, or a very short stay you will find that this place meets a good price-point, and has reasonably good conditions for a one night stay.
the staff of the hotel are the nicest part of it, young and friendly, and if anything they deserve a good review. all though i would not want to stay there again that says nothing about the conditions that some people desire when travelling other than myself.

Mi experiencia no fue buena pues al llegar lo primero que me dijeron es que no tenian mi reservacion en el sistema y estuve esperando por verificación 6 horas, hasta que les dio por decir que ya la habían verificado, la vista desde mi habitación era deprimente y lo que daba era miedo, en ningún momento el agua caliente funciono, y sirvieron agua al día siguiente de haber llegado, no esperen ningún trato especial así paguen en dolares...

La fachada del hotel no es muy atractiva; está deteriorada quizá por que el hotel es una edificación vieja. Lo utilicé solo para dormir porque el servicio de restaurante no es bueno; el menú es muy limitado. El aire acondicionado en las habitaciones no es muy bueno y produce mucho ruido.El área donde esta disponible la internet (WiFi) es muy pequeño (lobby), y en el restaurante este es caluroso. El baño de la habitación que me asignaron no tiene muy buen aspecto y es muy pequeño.
El servicio de limpieza es buena. El personal es muy agradable y su trato es cortés; siempre trataron de ayudar y resolver problemas puntuales.

El hotel esta aceptable un poco viejo con decoracion aun un poco antigua, un poco incomodo por la noche a la hora de dormir porque cerca habia fiesta musica , no es culpa del hotel pero deberia estar insonorisadas mas las habitaciones, por todo lo demas muy bien.

No tienen planta eléctrica y actualmente esta cortando la luz 4 horas al día de 11 am a 1 pm y de 6 pm a 8pm con lo cual el hotel queda sin funcionamiento, la atención no es buena, no tiene restauran para las noches, y adicional el desayuno los sirven muy tarde para personas que estén actividades que requieran salir temprano

Haber es un hotel, muy bueno, en todos sus aspectos.
sus habitaciones, solo le falta modernizar un poco lo que el internet en las habitaciones que eso es algo que ya de ir cambiando o mejor dicho modernizando dicho hotel.
y sus tv cambiarlos, bueno el que me toco a mi no me gusto para nada.
el control no serbia para cambiar los canales, su comida buena.
y se los recomiendo muy buen hotel.

En realidad muy desagradable,tarde 1 hora esperando porque el personal no tenia información de mi reserva, pese a que le mostré mi correo de reserva y pago.Tuve que llamar a hoteles.com.
