The stay was ok for the 4 days we were there. We like that it had the option for a 2 bedroom apartment style with a living area for our big family of 6 to be able to stay together and the pool area was well maintained and usable. The property is doing renovations and maintenance, some fixtures in the rooms are old and out dated and the bathrooms showers also had water discoloration in the tubs and toilet seats were loose. A lot of the listed amenities except for the pool area were not available due to the renovations. I recommend calling hotel first and verify if amenities are available. We initially booked the hotel for the many different amenities it offered especially traveling with children. The staff on the other hand were very friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff were excellent in servicing the rooms. Will stay again in the future when the renovations are completed.

The property was good with lush green surrounding. The rooms were very spacious. Being an old property , it could have been maintained a bit better. However the cleaning staff did awesome job in cleaning the rooms. Room service was good, they were at doorstep whenever required.

Property was clean and very quiet but absolutely nothing around and they no longer provide food. So we had to rely on Zomato and Swiggy. A lot could be done to make the property better as several things appeared old and worn out now. Overall we did enjoy the stay because it was peaceful.

Property is with wooden flooring and all the furniture has termite spread. Kitchen is not at all operational. Only positive aspect is staff members are good and cooperative. Do not book this property with breakfast as they don’t serve it. Although kitchen provided along with room helps a bit.

We asked for a late checkout and were told to pay Rs 800 till 6pm. But when we went to checkout at 5.45pm the manager refused and said the staff had made a mistake and we have to pay the full day charges. He was extremely unprofessional and rude.
Would warn patrons to excise caution while booking this place. The railing of the staircase were broken .

Some good and not so good things about hotel

I came here on my honey moon. Service was good, the rooms were big, the location of the hotel makes it feel like your in your own private jungle, and because it was off season I felt we had the hotel all to ourselves. Additionally, the hotel has a restaurant, a pool, and a spa. The food was good but a bit pricey for India, I'm not sure the spa was open but it seem clean, and the pool was good but could use consecutive cleaning throughout the day because of all the bugs in the area. The only down side of the hotel is that it is a bit outdated and needs renovation. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

hi The hotel is in remote location no restaurants nearby. Restaurant menu is overpriced and less in qty. Restaurant menu is limited and when we went tandoor was not operational so half of the things were not available. Restaurant people more eager to wrap up your lunch or dinner than you. This is quite annoying when you want to have relaxed meal. There was no rush as such still there was lot of hurry. Breakfast is good and complimentary. Please note no food delverty services available here like swiggy etc. Hotel cleanliness is BIG issue. Have to remind many times to clean things. Front office Manager is never at Front Desk . Many false promises hotel gives. Rooms were smelling of DUST, Had to ask for Napkins, Toiletries, Phone of one of the room was not working. Water kettle was not working. MINI FRIDGE IS NOT WORKING IN ANY ROOM. TOLD HOTEL TO REMOVE IT FROM INCLUSIONS SHOWING ON EXPEDIA OR ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Rooms are big and with lovely Patio.Swimming Pool is nice and clean and well maintained.

There is no restaurant nearby so you are dependent on hotel food, which is not bad but expensive(purposefully?) and there is only one taxi service in front of the hotel - which is again very expensive. Rooms are spacious but they have some foul smell. Bathtub was leaking and WIFI never works.

Just stayed for 7 hours before a very early morning flight. Bed was clean and comfortable. I couldn't figure out how to turn off the overhead fan and the bath was a bit dusty. Other than that, it was nice.

Room itself was clean, service was great. However, nothing going on nearby - nearby beach is not really an option. Also few restaurants or things to see nearby. Overall, it's in the wilderness. Hotel kitchen was abysmal - literallly rodents crawling all over the place. Not hygienic or acceptable for the price. Food itself was not good quality at all.

I have been coming to this hotel since quite sometime and am pained to see the deterioration in the standard of the hotel. Rooms are spacious but very smelly. Bathrooms are dirty and you may sometimes find no water in the toilet or no hot water in the middle of your shower. Food is very expensive and with no restaurants around this place you are not left with much choice but to buy from their restaurant. For the price that you pay the quantity is meagre and average tasting. Internet is very very unstable and slow. No mobile network. I will not recommend the hotel anymore because they are compromising on quality which is unethical since they charge you a bomb.

Never recommended.

I fell for this hotel by seeing the distance from airport...but this hotel is like isolated place where there is no mobile signal, no shops, no bike rentals and the list continues. Even if you want to buy a small chocolate you've to travel 4km to bogmallo by paying 300 INR (minimum charge for taxi), I spent most of money on these taxi rides. You've to stand like a statue of liberty outside of your room holding your mobile in hand for getting signal, don't even try indoors. About food....worse ever I had in entire Goa. If you're looking for a beach...yes there's a beach 1km away called Hollant with no tides (never saw a beach without tides before)..and it's full of rocks you can't walk in beach without footwear.

I rate 3/5 for Devasthali - BestWestern!!

Devasthali is loacted in a nice place. - points about out stay was finding this hotel was bit difficult. Hotel management mentioned that other than Expedia bookings they were not able to provide the free pick up from Airport. We made our bookings through Hotels.com. It is hard to find this hotel as there were not many sign boards. Otherwise, everything fine about our stay at this Hotel.

I booked this hotel knowing it is very close to Airport. Even Though it is close compared to other good resorts, but service is very poor. Hotel location is very hard to find. no signs anywhere.. we called four times, and staff could not guide us to this location. When we finally found it, it was pouring and hotel did not have enough umbrellas for us. we got wet before we reached the room. During the night i asked for extra blanket for my kids.. they did not have any.. can you believe it..they charged a lot for the breakfast.. and not that good food..not happy at all

A hotel with just 'rooms'

Not a very good experience. Average hotel, with a very small swimming pool. Does not have play area for children. Do not have a buffet system for either lunch / dinner or breakfast. Overall a small infractructure. Should be OK for a newly married couple, to spend more time togather, with less interest in the surrounding.

Horrible Experience

The reason why i chose this hotel was because it was close to airport and the venue as i was attending workshop for 2 1/2 weeks. The room was good size and the staff service was good however the manager was rude. Restaurant is not well maintained and the food was not upto standard and we had horrible breakfast. We had to call the staff on three occassions because of lizard, rats and cockroaches. The internet did'nt work most of the time, the rooms were not cleaned regularly and the towels were dried and put back to be reused. After calling several times and three days later, we were given the iron and iroing board. The hotel taxi was expensive but we had no choice but to use them. The beach is about 2km away and complimentary bus service is available, however the beach is not upto standard. If you want a nice relaxing holiday, this is not the place.

The stay was not comfortable. The staff are not pleasant and there is not basic stuff like iron box in the hotel. When asked for it we were told that we have booked at 30% cheaper in expedia and they cannot provide those comforts and it is available only to those who booked with them directly at full price. The beach is nowhere near the hotel and it is clear 1 km from the hotel

Great hotel for airport!

Nice place. Lights didn't work in room on arrival but send an electrician immediately and fixed it. I also needed a doctor and they called one out.
Food is good! Room is nice!

My room was very nasty and infested with roaches and other insects. The location was far from everything in the back of a wooded area. The room had a terrible odor and the bed had old dirty linen. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Best Western Devasthali - The Valley of Gods, is by far the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying in.
The shower had a colony of roaches, spiders and ants living there; the toilet seat was broken and slid off onto the floor.
WiFi was slow and didn’t work half the time, couldn’t SKYPE. The hotel is away from everything; had to use a dirt road to get access to the hotel entry, the back of the hotel is thick jungle.
The pictures on the website are truly misleading, false advertising even.
With all that said, the staff was nice, friendly and somewhat helpful.

We stayed go 2 nights seperately the ac did not work there was no chillness there were cockroaches in the bathroom and rats in the room I was shocked I told the receptionist who sent a person to check the ac but to no avail then I was shown three other rooms which had similar complaints the night receptionest was rude I was staying with my family and the food not good but rates very high in the whole my last night in goa was really bad due to this hotel which was suggested by your website as a good 4 star hotel next to the airport it is near the airport but no shops nearby

SPLENDID ALL ROUND

THIS hotel is a great little gem , great location 5 minutes from daoblim airport ( but didn't hear a thing in our room).. also very close to bogmolla and hollant beaches which are clean unspoilt peaceful and a must see if you stay here even if its just to see the local way of life and the flora and fauna and with a free shuttle service to and from the hotel it couldn't be better . only down side( if it was a down side) - the hotel restaurant was very quiet at night with most guests eating outside - that said it suited us as we had a early start next morning ( 4 am) and the food and service was excellent. the staff are very pleasant and professional and were on hand to deal with any queries or request - like our car to the airport at 4,30 am... all in all an excellent experience and we will definitely be back

One night stop over

My fiancé & I booked a room late for a stop over before going to the airport for an early flight. He knows of best western so we booked this hotel & we were not disappointed.

On arrival we were welcomed, staff were very helpful & we were very pleased with the room which over looked forest from the balcony at the rear & the pool from the front. We could've spent a week just relaxing around the pool area.

The food was not the best we'd eaten during our visit to India but was good enough & we would eat in the hotel restaurant again if went back.

Early morning calls & transport to the airport arranged. Overall a perfect end to our holiday.

The manager was just rude. He decided to have a go at me because I enquired about the price he quoted for the taxi to the airport in the morning. His price was ridiculous and clearly included a fat commission for him. I got it for a third of the price in the morning . He was not happy and so decided to make our lives a misery on check out. We nearly missed our plane as a result. Completely unreasonable

Has potential but need better service and food

This hotel has potential to be very nice but needs to improve its service and food to make me stay again. The good, room are very nice (we had executive room) and grounds are nice with pool and hammock swings lets you star gaze.The Bad, its location is too far to walk to bigger beaches, the service seems negatively influenced by taxi mafia outside. The hotel staff tried to cancel their free shuttle bus to the beach 4km away, but only after we had boarded it. Claiming a driver issue, we complained and got a free taxi to the beach but we felt the staff were bullied by the taxi mafia. Plus the food in the restaurant is below average, hire some decent cooks and give your guests decent indian food!

Lovely hotel and great setting.

We had a lovely 8 days enjoying the facilities and traveling around the area.
The hotel is stunning and has all the facilities that you need. The staff are very helpful and become your friends as the week goes on.
The facilities that we used were the room service for food and drink, a massage, the swimming pool and the restaurant. All were good.
There is no tourist info that we are used to in Europe. The hotel refers you to the taxis drivers who have a list of things to do in the area, Anything outside this list is discouraged. The Spice Garden was great. The south beaches were nicer than the north. The Sat night market and the Wed flea market very good. The waterfall would have been good if it hadn't been so busy.

Disastrous Experience - Pathetic Staff - AVOID

Pathetic staff and very unscrupulous.

Resort is not really much of a resort, fairly dated and poorly maintained. The staff are horrendous.

We were originally told on the phone we could book one double room for 4 guests to stop off for an 8 hour wait to accommodate an early morning flight and a car was sent to pick us up at the airport accordingly. At the hotel they insisted we had to book two separate rooms for the 4 guests despite being told earlier on the phone that one double room was OK and which we had specifically queried. On the managers refusal, the receptionist suggested we do the booking via Expedia which we did and he gave us the key to a room but later the manager turned up with his security entourage demanding we book a second room or leave the hotel. This was despite our protestations at being told differently at the outset and had we known this would be the case we would have gone elsewhere. The manager simply refused to accept that his receptionist had misinformed us and maintained he was right and we were wrong.

We left the hotel within 3 hours and instead waited for over 4 hours at the airport in some degree of discomfort.

In short - it transpires this Hotel is no longer part of the Best Western Group as I rang them to complain. Best to avoid.

I am also sceptical about the exceptionally positive comments people have given this hotel, some describing this as the best resort ever! Highly questionable.

Very relaxing resort, in otherwise busy Goa

Nice resort. Good for a family vacation, since it is away from the hustle-bustle of Goa. With live 'goan' music and dance, the place has a Goa touch. Great choice for food, and a good taste, ensures a relaxing evening after tiring day at the beaches.

While check in the hotel found utensils were already used ( spoon found with complimentary tea were in not good condition) it seemed as used earlier. And after check out when contacted to hotel about my id cards which were given during check in and not traceable did not get any positive response.

Proximity to the airport

We were there for a day and night. I switched from another hotel to this one; since, we had an early flight to catch.

This place is literally 5mins from the airport!! The room and general comfort was great and the hotel staff were courteous. Nothing spectacular; but, certainly met my needs for the stay.

Now the reason why this place gets only an \"OK\" - when I booked this hotel through expedia, it said they have transportation to the airport and breakfast, which is perfect for the early traveler. But, after checking in, they made me pay for both. Apparently, that offer is only for people who book through their website and not through a travel site. This is highly disingenuous!! These same travel sites are the reason why they get so much business....so why cant the facility be extended to them!?!

Nice atmosphere .. but they test your patience !

The bearer takes the order for a main dish with 4 things in the side dish,
but serves only the main dish.

The toilets does not flush at all ...

You can smell gamaxine in the rooms.

Telephone in the room does not work for more than a day in a place where you
hardly have cell phone signals. And once they fix the phone system
they do not bother to inform you about the same.

No News papers.

People will be walking across the backyard plants when you expect privacy
because your room's door opens directly into it.

Breakfast buffet and A-la-carte are a big let down - not really the place
to dine if you are a foodie.

TV in the room is useless .. 30 channels in all ( more than 25 are useless local channels and news channels)

Nice hotel near Hollant beach

We were a family of four adults and two children. We had driven down, so commute wasn't an issue. It is good to have a car with you, as most of the places you would want to visit are at least half an hour away.

The stay was comfortable. The staff were friendly and eager to help. It is situated close to Hollant beach. However Hollant beach is a tiny one. Other popular beaches are at least half an hour away by car. The hotel restaurant is decent. They have a well maintained swimming pool.

There is a Naval museum close by. It is worth a visit if you are a museum person.

The hotel it self was so well ran and maintained every one spoke decent English.The only thing that lets them down is there restaurant, While there staff are in there are so polite and friendly the manger and the food they produce is terrible two out of the three in our group got food poisoning and it ruined a big part of our GOA trip!!!

The resort is located a little away from the town, surrounded by coconut trees. It was a good experience staying in the resort. The food was good, but little expensive. Room was big and nice & clean. The staff were very friendly. The pool was small but very good.

Great for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

It was definitely a nice place. It's about a 15 minute walk to the beach in a cove. The beach itself was ok, but if you head around the cove to the left (there's a trail) you end up on this beautiful white sand beach that goes on farther than you can see (careful as there's much there for quite a ways).

The pool was really nice and the staff let me use the computer to use the internet for free.

Housecleaning was good, though really inconsistent with the time and I had to continually remind them and ask for the complementary water. Also, when I checked in at 3:00, they took almost 40 minutes to give me a clean room, and I didn't get towels until the next day.

The Indian food was good, though not amazing. It was a decent selection for the breakfast buffet. Any western food was not that great. For example, the cheese in the salad was just torn up pieces of Kraft singles. There's no other restaurants near by so this was the only option there. They made an pretty good attempt at providing quality service. There was no tipping at all until you pay your bill there was an opportunity then and the staff shares it out.

They provided a free shuttle to and from two different beaches, one of which is in a popular area with lots to do, and also one to the casino if you're interested. If you wanted to take a cab, its about $10 to go anywhere, and about $20 to $30 for a tour.

The property is a very beautiful one. The check in was handled very efficiently. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was awful and the room service was lacking. The checkout was handled badly because of the rush and just one person at the counter. They do not have a travel desk and we had to depend on the local taxis parked outside. Non Availability of cigarettes a problem.

disappointing experience considering the price of the resort there are much better options in south goa , also the location is remote to all good beaches , transport is a big issue , very limited options on the food menu , lazy & not sincere room service and management .
