We stayed for one night, mainly because the hotel advertises its spa and indoor pool area. Unfortunately, this was a major disappointment. For an entire hotel, there are only four loungers in the pool area, which makes it impossible to relax or “chill” as advertised. The three saunas are very small and were extremely overcrowded.
Breakfast was equally underwhelming: even though there was still about an hour left, many items were already empty. The juices were clearly cheap syrup-based drinks and tasted unpleasant.
Overall, the facilities do not live up to the hotel’s marketing, especially considering the focus on the spa area.

This hotel is very convenient for business with some of the nearby international entities. However there is not much of anything else around the neighbourhood. What makes this hotel great is the staff. Without exception they are excellent and in particular the bar and restaurant staffers. You can have great amenities as this hotel does but it is always the staff that makes the difference and in this case you could not do better.

This is an excellent hotel with a very well equipped gym, saunas and steam room. Of particular note is the very high level of service by all staff and particularly those at reception. After a day of traveling then dragging yourself into the lobby it is wonderful to be met by cheerful and efficient people.

Feels slightly remote but in reality everything is very accessible through local transportation right outside. Rooms were large and well decorated and comfortable. Pool was quite small and full of children which made it difficult to relax (worse for those coming to use the spa). Gym and outdoor sauna were nice and staff was friendly.

Lovely room with balcony, the mattress was a bit too soft for us but the room was nice and the staff was kind to arrange for cleaning to be done before we were back for mid day nap for our toddler.
Parking on premises and hotel has its own restaurant although there isn't a lot of variety for meals .. regardless of the time of the day is a set (small)menu.
Great transport links although the distances are walkable and most of the times though green areas.
Would stay again.

Excellent hotel with spotless lobby, bar and restaurant/ breakfast area. Room was nice and light. Great bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Big hotel but so quiet at night. In the middle of a park with tram stop very close to take you to either the beach or the city centre very cheaply. Did not use the restaurant but had a drink in the bar and watched guests being turned away as full. Breakfast was very pleasant..not a huge selection especially hot but no extra charge. All the staff very professional and spoke English. Only one downside and that was 25 euro a night to park the car.

Great hotel, would stay again

We had checked in online prior to arrival which was very straightforward. The hotel is situated right beside a tram stop so very easy to get to from the beach or the city. The entrance could be slightly clearer as it is also the car park entrance but that is not important.
We had a warm welcome and were grateful to find out room was available early so we went straight to it.
The room was spacious, clean and well presented. It was a twin room with the beds pushed together and the only very slight issue being the edges are soft so you can end up slipping into the gap on occasion.
Otherwise the bed, the room and the shower were all excellent.
The hotel has a restaurant which we didn't try, we had hotel breakfast on one morning and there was a good selection to choose from, it's worth booking this prior or on arrival to get a cheaper rate.
The staff were all helpful and we enjoyed evening cocktails most evenings.
The spa and pool are included in the stay and are very nice indeed.
Of note, this hotel allows dogs to stay which is great and they do have to be on the lead when inside.

Wardrobe doors doesn’t close properly, so light thru glass doors was shining all night. After visitor slipper were left in room. Gym was not working from 6:30 as it should be. There were no personal stuff in wellness, was explained that they are late, watter heat in shower in wellness in change room does not regulate, it is so hot. When cheking out as a standart i was asked “how was my stay?” After i said not good, they haven’ ask what was not good. Just after after silence minute commented that stay was already paid. Positive - personal stuff in breakfast erea were very nice.

2nd extended stay here (both times 12 days ). Physical property very nice, great rooms, comfortable bed, great AC, decently run. My reason for only giving it average service is that the personal attention to customers does not equal the high-end that it exudes. Not that I'm looking to be pampered, but when a customer comes to the bar, he/she is the focus point, NOT talking to your co-workers or making pitchers of drinks for later. This is a management problem, as the well groomed and high-end staff, doesn't know how to interact with customers. Frequency is way too low, and attention to customers progress in drink, meal, bill, etc is inattentive. The food: last year the chef was super creative and presented interesting and extremely well prepared fresh ingredients. This year remnants of the same menu still existed, but cooking was 3 notches down, and food seems like it is being used from leftover breakfast buffet ingredients. All this shouldn't take you away from this solid hotel, for the rooms are excellent, and when shopped appropriately the price can be good. My comments are as much for staff as customers: manage better, respect your customers needs and attention, and be the role you exude, a \"service-first\" establishment.

Hotel has changed ownership since last visit so interesting contrast.
Lobby has improved and restaurant is better. Service is not of same level as especially as this time I booked a suite for my family despite asking two times room was not cleaned. Also I had a second room booked for the other part of my family upon arrival it was confirm that two rooms will be on same floor but when we checked in we were told that it is no possible. Ver disappointing
On positive side massage services are great spa infrastructure needs renewal.

Nice 5 star hotel with pool nearby The Hague city centre. From the tram stop nearby, it is a 10 minute ride to the city centre.
Good clean room, early check in possible, large car park, good breakfast and friendly personnel.
Large pool, sauna and fitness facilities in the basement open till 11 PM.

I've stayed here before (5 years ago) and was disappointed. We were put in the new wing which i think is worse than the old. our sons stayed in the old wing which I think is still nicer. The pillows were lumpy and too big to sleep on, there were no robes and slippers, the cleaning for the second day wasn't great in the bathroom and the bed wasn't completely made. The telephone didn't work and I repeatedly asked for it to be fixed which only happened on the morning of the day we checked out. The reception was friendly but didn't seem to get anything done. I asked for luggage assistance and was told i'd have to do it myself as they were too busy..... Very disappointed as i brought my family for a treat as my previous experience was great. The best experience this time was the waiter at dinner who gave excellent service.

Overworked front desk staff (waited for 15mins in line to check out - only 1 staff available). Inconsistent service standards - no towels in room when arrived, not cleaned on third day, water bottles in the minibar never replenished, minibar not stocked (despite asking three times), laundry service ruined a tie - however, gym and swimming pool both good. Breakfast plentiful but expensive and overcrowded.

Nice and spacious room. Good quality wifi. Nice gym. European breakfast with some fresh vegetables. Nice bar that also serves some decent food for dinner/lunch. Walking distance to “World Forum” and several other facilities, but you’ll need a taxi/tram to get to food and entertainment. Staff speaks good English and room quiet and well maintained (but you’ll need to learn how to operate the shower in a manner that doesn’t spill water on the bathroom floor). About 45-60 minutes from Schiphol airport by taxi/train.

Waited to be checked in for ten mins reception staff 2 of them were speaking to the same guest and totally ignored us after finally checking us in we were offered to sign up for a account at that point i refused we paid for a city /park view and was given a view of factories after calling reception was told there are no other rooms ready was then given a different room with a park view rooms are nice clean and kept clean by very good maids spa and pool also good service we ate at the restarant 2 night s the food was ok but not 5 star no where near Breakfast good choice again there seemed to be no staff around this hotel is lacking customer service the check in staff member ester seemed sarcastic when we complained for the room and stated if i had signed up on line i would not have to que up i have stoped in many 5 stars worldwide and i would say this is the worse one for customer service on reception partially the one lady at check in the maids were very attentive and friendly maybe they need to switch some of these to the front desk do hope they improve this as it is a pleasant clean hotel with a cosy cigar room at nights due to the service i would rate this hotel a 4 star

My favorite hotel in The Hague, again!

Often stayed here during the years around the millennium. Enjoy the spacious rooms with balcony and the recent (tasteful) renovation of the 98 \"old wing\" rooms is impressive. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Fitness, spa, sauna and indoor pool are very good and inviting. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming and I observed good continuity of personnel (met people from 20 years ago!). I am back to stay here again!

Perfect stay!

Perfect stay! We got a free upgrade as it was not too busy at the time of our stay. Room was more than perfect. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly. We rented some bikes to get around town. Very good quality bikes and within 7 mins we were in the city center of The Hague an even less at Scheveningen. Perfect location. We recommend this hotel to everyone.

Disappointing Stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade

I had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately it fell short in almost every way. First off, the location is a major letdown—far too removed from the city center to be convenient. If you’re hoping to explore The Hague easily, be prepared for long walks or expensive taxi rides.

The price is another sore point. For what you get, it’s simply not worth it. The rooms are average at best, and the amenities don’t justify the steep cost. It feels like you’re paying for a luxury experience that never arrives.

And the breakfast? I have seen better elsewhere.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re desperate. There are better, more central, and more reasonably priced options in The Hague.

Gut gelegenes Hotel, man ist mit der Straßenbahn in kürzester Zeit in der Innenstadt.
Die Zimmer Richtung Park sind sehr leise.
Das Hotel ist schön eingerichtet.
Es gibt sehr viele Parkplätze, die zum Hotel gehören. Man zahlt dafür pauschal 25 Euro.
Wir haben gut in dem Bett geschlafen.

Das Hotel liegt auf halbem Weg zwischen Innenstadt und Strand (jeweils nur 4 Stationen mit der Strassenbahn in die jeweilige Richtung). Strassbahnhaltestelle fussläufig in 3 Minuten erreichbar. Wer also einen Stadturlaub mit Strand verbinden möchte ist der gut aufgehoben. Der Strand von Scheveningen ist ca. 1.5km weg, man kann also auch dort hinlaufen und auf dem Weg durch Scheveningen schlendern.

Super schönes Hotel für ein Wochenendausflug

Unsere Erfahrung in diesem Hotel war durchweg positiv.
Das Hotel sowie die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, was uns sofort ein angenehmes Gefühl vermittelt hat. Zwar merkt man an einigen wenigen Stellen, dass das Haus nicht mehr ganz neu ist, doch das wirkt sich keineswegs negativ auf den Gesamteindruck aus.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist das überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Personal, das unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat.

Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war die Auswahl beim Frühstück – diese hätte für den aufgerufenen Preis etwas vielfältiger sein dürfen.

Insgesamt aber ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, den wir gerne in Erinnerung behalten.

Leider wurden wir erst am Tag der Anreise, gegen Mittag, darüber Informiert, das es zu Einschränkungen im Umfeld des Hotels kommt, da bereits Absperrungen aufgrund des NATO Summits vorgenommen wurden, sodass es zu einigen Einschränkungen kam. Deswegen auch nur 3 Sterne bzgl. Umfeld vom Hotel. Das Hotel selbst war bei der Anreise, aufgrund der Absperrungen schwer zu erreichen. Hätte wir dies vorher gewusst hätten wir ein anderes Hotel, nicht in der der Nähe des Veranstaltungsortes, gebucht. Unabhängigkeit davon, konnte man mit der Straßenbahn Richtung Strand und Stadt fahren.

Wir waren 3 Nächte mit Säugling im Hotel und hatten eine Suite gebucht. Leider scheint es moderne und weniger moderne Suiten zu geben. Es scheint, als hätten wir ein Zimmer bekommen, dass schon älter war, da die Suite auf Fotos im Internet teilweise anders aussah und obwohl wir auch explizit eine freistehende Badewanne gewünscht hatten, bekamen wir ein anderes Zimmer.
Die Sauberkeit könnte für deutsche Verhältnisse auch deutlich besser sein. Das Frühstück war für 3 Nächte völlig in Ordnung, ausreichend und lecker. Allerdings täglich dasselbe.
Parkplatz 25€ pro Tag ist schon happig, dafür direkt vor der Tür.
Der SPA Bereich ist schön, jedoch fehlte uns hier eine Möglichkeit, Getränke zu ordern.
