Had booked quadruple room arrived with party of 4 to be told reservation changed to double room and hotel full and due to fire regulations could only take 2 of party. Deputy manager said was mistake and said would help us find another hotel after 2 hours had not checked in with us was 9pm and I went to ask and he said hotels all full and leaving 2 of our party nowhere to stay for the night. We were all female British and never stayed in Hague before and had friends or family nearby to stay with

I highly recommend this hotel. Lovely atmosphere on a wonderful beach. Tourist areas are quite close by for those that want that, but it is just on the outer edge of the main tourist area, which appeals to us. A 15 minute tram ride to the city center and the train station, so a very easy commute to explore downtown as well.

A great hotel in a perfect location. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The hotel is located in Scheveningen overlooking the beach and the North Sea. The tram and bus to take you into the city center are conveniently located right on the corner ,1 block away. The Scheveningen promenade is right at the hotel doorstep. Lots of great restaurants are within walking distance.

All the family rooms are on the 1st floor with no view of the ocean. Bunk beds have been nicely fitted out but it’s a shame they cannot offer a sea view to family’s. Our view was of a tram stop with trams stopping every 5 minutes so it wasn’t very pleasant and not what we had in mind (or anyone ) when booking a beach hotel. The hotel is not cheap so I feel this should be made clear at booking it feels like if travelling as a family you are relegated to the back of the hotel.

Breakfast was nice, fresh made waffles, bacon and eggs with a nice view.

Swimming pool was fine, extra charges to use the sauna though which I thought is poor form. Great location near the beach and lots of restaurants and things to do.

We stayed here in 2018 and there were a few amenities that we liked and brought us back. So we were disappointed when we discovered those amenities are no longer available. One was a mobile phone with cell data, allowing us to use google maps and make local phone calls as we travelled around the area. This was a real saving as we didn't have to buy a sim card for our own phones. Another thing we liked was the ability to buy Day Passes for the Tram at the front desk. Now, that isn't an option. The last thing was the beach chairs and windscreens that are no longer available. We didn't spend one day on the beach for this reason.
A few other notes worth mentioning : there was a Laundry bag in our room and when I asked about the rates, I was told that there was a fire in the Laundry room so that service wasn't available but I could go to the laundromat down the street. They didn't say when the Laundry option would be available.
I would have to say that dirty cutlery and cups were a problem every time we ate at the breakfast and even in the dining room.
Should we return to Scheveningen, we won't be staying at this hotel.

Rude head receptionist and disapointing stay

I booked a partial sea view room but on first floor over looking carpark. This was not a partial sea view room by any stretch of the imagination. I had also sent an e mail to the hotel to confirm view and reception manager said noone has had time to look at e mails since before xmas and she thought this was ok. And was very rude as i am English and spoke in english but i speak perfect dutch so could understand her remarks made to her co worker Coffee machine cleaned at 9pm so no coffee available and the bar last orders 930. On new years day. Reception manager quite rude and had no customer service skills at all. When i asked why the bar closed she said staff also wanted to go home and not many people around. There was a few of us who were a bit surprised. It was a special birthday so we went back to the room. Very very disapointing stay !!

The room was newly renovated, great bed, cozy. Outside of the Hotel looks a bit dilapidated, but the inside is nice and modern. Corridors were a bit cold, also the room, but heating worked well. Bathroom was a bit small. Breakfast was great, eventhough a bit strange, that reservation is needed, especially, when overcrowding is not prevented by it. The hotel is nicely located directly at the beach with look to the sea. All in all: good hotel, nice staff, had a great stay.

The Carlton Beach hotel has a fabulous location. However, it is not a cheap hotel, although judging from their constant attempts to sell additional things at inflated prices, it clearly thinks it does not charge enough. Just one example, they charge 15 euros/day for bikes from a local bike hire store, whereas if you do it yourself, it is just 8.50. Breakfast is 20 euros/day, whereas you can get as good a breakfast for half the price from one of the many cafes on the beach a few yards away.

We had a number of frustrations with the hotel. We reserved a room with a double bed, but were given a room with twins instead, and when we asked about this, there was no apology, just “well that sometimes happens” and a complete lack of concern.

When we checked it, there was a group being seen, but only one person, leaving us waiting for more than a quarter of an hour, during which time the person in front of me gave up waiting. Even though a number of office staff passed by, none offered to help check in other guests.

The attitude of the staff aside, the rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms have been modernised. It was nice to have a kettle and tea and coffee. The location is fabulous, just by the beach, just north of the pier.

Excellent position to the city or to the dunes/beach.. balcony facing sea. It was a cold and windy winter stay, but cozy inside and swimming/fitness/sauna were nice, not busy at all in January. Breakfast choices good and roomy seating at beach-side windows. Friendly all around. Free parking behind hotel at beach head (Jan-Feb) and street-Tram station right behind Hotel too!
Older architecture and furnishings, but functionality and vibes matter more.. so if it is too cold for swimming in the sea and you want a hotel with a pool (and a view of the sea), this is it!!!

Front desk staff was very rude. Room was not as requested . Was told that it was not possible. Asked for a sea view. On the second day there was a terrible smell coming from the shower. Told front desk about it and it was brushed off . Was told that’s a problem with the whole first floor . If they knew there were problems with that floor why did they put us on that floor. It was off season and the hotel was empty. They only staff member that cared was the house keeper. She apologized profusely

Very good stay in a lovely hotel. Room was a great size for a couple with a tennage child. Facilities in the room were excellent, including the provision of a mobile phone to use during the stay free of charge. Pool and spa area were lovely although the communal changing rooms were on the small side to say the least.
Overall this was a better standard of hotel than expected.

I booked this as my husband can’t walk very far, and was pleased with how close it was to trams/ buses. We were able to visit the lovely town The Hague and spent many hours strolling round the shops and enjoying lunch in one of the many cafes.
There are lots of restaurants nearby which were very reasonably priced.

This hotel is in a good location next to beach and trams and buses. It is definitely a bit tired and needs a bit of refurbishing. The bathrooms appear to have been done but the rest needs attention. There is a beach club belonging to the hotel on the beach which is convenient.

great transport on doorstep and beach on doorstep

Building is not attractive but so close to the beach and summer beach bars. Building work is going on very close by on a new boulevard so may cause some noise issues later in 2018.Due to be completed in 2019.
Breakfast is continental in the main and small pool with gym that is free to guests.
Pleasant enough reception staff
Don't like the twin bed mattresses - slide off the bed or bathroom sink as does not hold water !

Duschgel und Shampoo waren leer, in der Kaffeemaschine waren noch die alten gebrauchten Kapseln vom Vorgänger, Sauna kostet 10€ pro Nutzung, Parkmöglichkeiten im Hotel vorhanden allerdings nur durch vorherige Reservierung, weitere Parkmöglichkeiten sind in direkter Umgebung vorhanden, die Kosten belaufen sich überall zwischen 35€ - 40€ pro Tag

Wir hatten zu viert einen Aufenthalt von 3 Tagen im Carlton Beach und fandens insgesamt ganz gut. Zimmer waren sehr sauber, Nespresso Maschine sowie Wasserkocher waren vorhanden u. Nespresso Kapseln wurden täglich aufgefüllt, flauschige Handtücher und wirklich bequeme Betten. Die direkte Strandlage ist ein Traum! Das Personal ist sehr jung und freundlich jedoch teilweise überfordert bei Anfragen. Wir hatten im Vorfeld nach Einzelbetten gefragt was uns bestätigt wurde. Vorort wusste man jedoch nichts mehr davon. Wir haben die Betten einfach selbst auseinander gestellt. Andere Anfragen Vorort wurden aufgenommen jedoch musste man selbst nochmal auf das Personal zugehen und proaktiv nachfragen. Das Hotel war ausgebucht und zeitweise war es nachts lange laut 😏 das Frühstück können wir nicht bewerten da wir es nicht gebucht hatten. Vorort hätte es 25€ für erwachsene und 13€ für Kinder gekostet. Das Restaurant selbst ist hell und einladend mit Blick aufs Meer 💙 wir empfehlen einen hoteleigenen Parkplatz für 35€/Tag zu buchen da man in den Parkhäusern lediglich einmal rein u rausfahren kann pro Tag! Das rein u rausfahren auf dem Hotelparkplatz war leider etwas mühselig da man jedesmal klingeln und warten musste bis die Schranke aufgemacht wurde. Mit den Zimmerkarten hat es leider nicht funktioniert obwohl es eigentlich so vorgesehen war. Weiterer Kritikpunkt: es war nur ein Gäste Aufzug vorhanden-lange Wartezeiten!Alles in Allem aber eine gute Erfahrung und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Unser erster Besuch nach der Renovierung war wunderschön.

Nach mehreren Aufenthalten im Carlton Beach in den letzten Jahren waren wir gespannt auf die Renovierung.
Der erste Eindruck des neuen Designs war sehr positiv. Warme, strandtypische Farben und eine moderne Einrichtung haben uns sofort gefallen.

Der freundliche Empfang und die Erklärung des neuen Self-Service-Check-ins verliefen reibungslos.

Unser Zimmer war geräumig, freundlich eingerichtet und die Ausstattung stimmig. Die einmalige Aussicht auf das Meer hat uns jeden Morgen aufs Neue begeistert.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Frühstücksbuffet mit seiner großen Auswahl an leckeren Speisen, frisch gepresstem Orangensaft und leckerem Kaffee.

Der späte Check-out um 12 Uhr war ein weiterer Pluspunkt, der uns einen entspannten Vormittag am Strand ermöglichte.

Wir werden gerne wieder ins Carlton Beach zurückkehren.

Ich gehe nur auf die Punkte ein, die mich störten:
1. Es gibt keine normale Tür zum Bad (!) Es sind Zwei hängende Sichtschutztüren angebracht mit ca. 10 cm langen Spalten oben und unten. Das Bad selbst ist winzig.
2. Die Zimmer sind hellhörig, sodass man die Nachbarn hört und auch die Haupttür weißt ca. 2 cm spalt unten auf.
3. in der Nacht kann das Zimmer nicht ordentlich beleuchet werden. Es sind nur gelbe Deko-Leuchten vorhanden, die zwar fürs Ambiente sorgen, aber nicht um ein Buch im Bett zu lesen.
4. Ein Parkplatz fürs Auto wird je Tag und nicht je Nacht berechnet. Die Parkplätze sind begrenzt.
Das Personal ist nett und Hilfsbereit, man muss aber sich selbst ein- und auschecken.
5. Die Kopfkissen sind zu fest und zu dick, als wir es von anderen Hotels gewohnt sind
Der Pool ist auch ausreichend, um zu schwimmen.
Das Zimmer ist geräumig, es gibt kostenlose Heißgetränke im Zimmer sowie auch im Schwimmbad.

Maden var fin, piv utæt værelse med dør der klappede, man skulle gi 10€ for at komme ind i saunaen og det var virkelig slidt og ringe

Für ein verlängertes Wochenende am Meer können wir diese Unterkunft empfehlen.
Die Lage ist hervorragend, das Parken problemlos (wenn auch gegen Gebühr) möglich.

Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber aber sehr hellhörig, der Balkon ist renovierungsbedürftig.

Der Fitnessbereich ist gut, groß und technisch hochwertige Geräte.
Leider fehlt es jedoch an Charm für ein echtes Spa - Welness, wie man es aus anderen 4-5 Sterne Hotels kennt.
Die Räumlichkeiten dort sind alt und stark renovierungsbedürftig. Der Pool ist sehr klein, wird durch eine Schwimmschule mitgenutzt.
Die Sauna wurde nicht genutzt.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich.
