This hotel is kind of a perod hotel. It feels comfortable, the ambiance is like an old friend. The staff are friendly, ready to help and courteous. I felt right at home in this hotel. It is a place you just feel comfortable in, yet it has everything you want. The rooms are very well done and good sized. Again a comfortable experience, I was there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The breakfasts are excellent and the outside area is very nice for sitting in the afternoon sun or have a nice glass of wine. I would highly recommend this establishment.

This was a very modern upscale hotel. The rooms were lovely, the staff were very helpful, and the location was ideal for a visit to the Hague. The hotel is located in the diplomatic area of the Hague, and therefore the scenery at local buildings were beautiful. Had the most incredible thing is that the cost was very reasonable and the hotel could not have been nicer.

As the sides of the tub are very high, it is very hard and dangerous for people who are not in good shape. If the are rooms with walk-in showers, it would be wise to let their older guests know of the option.

Service level is truly top-notch - informed, personalised and discreet yet attentive and unpretentious - people who go above and beyond and who take pride in their hotel and what they do, and it shows. I had a short visit during covid/corona lockdown, travelling to NL for medical reasons, and the manner of service really stood out at an otherwise challenging time for everyone. This hotel is a timeless classic of The Hague, beautifully situated with lots of nearby greenery and well placed for access to the central old city, the Peace Palace and numerous embassies and international bodies. A bit more mould in the grout around bathroom tiles and bath than i would have liked, but good shower . Only one pair of slippers and one bath robe which is odd in a room for two people. Great Hotel in Great Location
My wife and I stayed at the Carlton Ambassador for two nights at the beginning of a 10-day European trip. Check-in was very smooth and our corner room was very nice and very reasonable. We had booked some 5-1/2 months in advance. The bed was very comfortable and the linens and towels exceptional. The included breakfast was simply exceptional – a real joy. There was great coffee in the room. The location is also excellent – in a very nice neighborhood, a block and a half from tram stops, easy walking to a number of restaurants and shopping on Noordeinde. We also walked just several blocks to the International Peace Palace and to a canal tour boat on Mauritskade. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout our 2-night stay. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We would certainly rebook here on any future trips to The Hague.

The hotel is convinietly located in a quiet part of town with only a few minutes walk to the posh shopping and restaurant areas. Also the tram connects to the beach! Breakfast and service is great and the style of the rooms a bit old-fashioned colonial meets Holland style! Spent three nights at the Carlton Ambassador over the New Year's period and had a wonderful time. The hotel is very well located close to the city center and close to transport links/tram to easily get to the station, centre, of Scheveningen. The rooms are spacious, quite, and very clean. The staff were incredibly useful and helpful with regards to everything from food, to attractions, to booking taxis/transport. Would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. The restaurant is also of very high quality and offers local food as well as a hearty breakfast.

I stayed here three nights. Everything is exactly what you want in a hotel. The room is well appointed and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is quite good. The hotel is easily accessible by public transportation if you are arriving by train. And it's an easy walk to the museum and the town center. I will stay here again on my next trip.

I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. Our room had been upgraded when we arrived and was lovely with such a comfortable bed and at the end of a quiet corridor. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful, whatever our request. I am gluten free and they were extremely attentive, sending out for special bread for breakfast. Breakfast itself was delicious - there was gluten free granola too, plus fruit, ham, cheese, eggs etc. The location is brilliant. It's a five/ten minute walk into the centre of The Hague and there are loads of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is around the corner from a tram/bus stop for getting to the station or further afield but is in a quiet location. The main reason for our trip was to take a visit to Keukenhof and having stayed in Amsterdam before we chose The Hague this time. This was a nice hotel- with a clean room with a comfortable bed. Nice staff- but one person at the desk at key times was not enough and therefore long waits at check out- and small things like storing bags required you to wait for all the check outs in front of you. Something management should look at -as it was a comment from all the guests that I encountered.

Lovely boutique hotel close to city attractions.
This is a lovely hotel close to the main attractions of The Hague or a short bus or tram ride away. I had stayed there once before, in 2012, and noticed several improvements to the lobby and public parts of the hotel this time. Everything from the check in to check out was well done. We asked for and were able to stay in the same room as last time too --this was really nice as it felt familiar and it was roomy too. The hotel had a lovely restaurant and a nice bar. We had a terrific room with a small balcony. One of the hotel staff gave us free vouchers for a drink which we appreciated. The staff organized a private car for our departure which we also appreciated. All in all it was a terrific hotel which I would definitely recommend.

The ugliest hotel I've ever stayed in
We paid a rate commensurate with a luxury hotel and found an ancient tomb, at least clean, with holes in the curtains and a balcony overlooking an abandoned building. The hotel is adequate, but the rooms are very old and we found nothing in this hotel to warrant their self-applied \"luxury\" adjective. I would not stay here again.

The room booked was not available on arrival after 3pm. Three hours later we were given an old apartrment outside the hotel which was inconvenient and uncomfortable with various defects eg key card would not work,tap was loose and defective, could not get hot water (only luke warm). In view of the price (more expensive that The Eden) we were disappointed - it does not measure up to cimilar hotels in other cities.

The hotel and room was really nice. The location could be better, as it's a bit away from the centre. The room wasn't ready when we arrived, and they told us it would be ready about 2h after the promised check-in time. So we ended up leaving our luggage and touring the town.

Cons: third floor room had windows the size of a microwave door, together with super-low ceilings, and it felt quite claustrophobic. At €20, the breakfast seemed a little steep, and the offerings were limited. There is no gym or other leisure facility.

Lovely hotel with an air of Grand Hotel Budapest
Stayed here for business for about week with a colleague. Situated in the Diplomatic quarter, opposite the Canadian Embassy and therefore is very quiet and safe. The service is impeccable with more than a little of Grand Hotel Budapest about it - very ambassadorial, even. Although the decor is a little unusual (probably because it's from a little while ago), the rooms are very comfortable, especially the beds. I really enjoyed my stay there and we found a very nice restaurant 10 minutes walk away, too. Definitely a 4* hotel and because of the service (nothing is too much for the people on reception), perhaps more.
