Our stay at The Residence Tunis was, without exaggeration, one of the most exceptional holidays we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled with such care and precision that it set the tone for the entire week. The airport transfer was seamless, the luggage porter attentive, and the reception team ensured that our check-in process was smooth and welcoming.

The resort itself is absolutely picturesque. Each morning felt like something out of a dream, waking up to the gentle sound of birds, with the sea just beyond, and a view from our room that was simply breathtaking. That peaceful atmosphere stayed with us throughout our stay and made it incredibly difficult to leave.

Every aspect of the experience was executed to a very high standard. The room service was prompt and consistent, breakfast offered both quality and variety, and the restaurants delivered a truly top-tier dining experience. We especially enjoyed our visits to El Dar, where the atmosphere, food, and hospitality made each evening memorable. The spa facilities were equally impressive — from the indoor thermal pool to the treatments themselves, everything felt luxurious and thoughtfully designed. The private beach and outdoor pool added another layer of relaxation, while the music nights brought a lovely energy to the evenings.

For the type of environment you are professing to be EVERY staff member should be kind and courteous.
I did not see it or feel it. A few bad ones can ruin a rating. As a medical provider, no one was around the spa area downstairs. If someone were hurt or passed out, no one would know until another visitor went downstairs. There was no water available like in other spas. No place to put towels>>> attention to detail..simple things, no costs added, could be done.

I usually stay at The Residence when visiting Tunison business, a great place to unwind after a long day at work. It's a little out of the way at Gammarth, but is a wonderful experience and easy to take a car into the city for nightlife.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds are perfect for a good night's sleep, and it's beachfront.
Food options are plentiful, with meat and vegetarian choices. The drinks menu is good too. What's not to like?

The hotel was beautiful in an old school glamour way, I could imagine this hotel being an embassy in a previous era. Warm marble, domed ceilings, chandeliers, fountains - even the walkways smelt perfumed.
The room was spacious, luxurious (fresh flowers in the room) and the small balcony overlooked the pool. The staff were very attentive and kind enough to provide us with extra amenities we required.
The only small downside was that it is located quite far from any outside restaurants or sites that need to be travelled to by taxi, but it was worth the trade off to have a private beach behind the hotel.

We booked this hotel because the Food and Beverage Manager assured us they could handle our daughter's nut and sesame allergy. We had all our meals (breakfasts and dinners) in the hotel.

I can say after a week, they handled our daughter's allergy with care. In particular, the breakfast manager alerted us to stay away from many foods which I appreciated. The evening chef also took time too cook my daughter's meals separately which we appreciated. My mother is a vegetarian and they were also accommodating to her needs.

Everyone here is really nice. The lady who makes tea by the indoor pool, the evening front desk lady (can't recall her name), the breakfast waiters, the dinner waiters, the maids, everyone). Even the guy who cuts lawns took time to show us some rabbits and chickens. Thanks to him too.

The grounds are immaculate. Not a crumb in site and everything is top notch.

The food was good in the restaurant and especially good at breakfast.

Beds are super comfortable. This hotel was an oasis after returning back from our day trips each day.

Good job to the entire team and thank you for a perfect stay.

The only thing I would change is adding a 2nd bench to the weight room somehow:)

I was debating whether to stay in the medina or further out. I am glad I chose The Residence. Amazing short trip…staff make you feel truly welcomed, the hotel smells amazing, room service twice a day, live music, freshly squeezed juices and a lovely relaxing ambience.
Anis the waiter and Anis the restaurant manager took good care of us. You can take cabs to the medina and places like sidi Bou Said.

The hotel itself is luxurious but it’s rather remote. In the summer, I imagine it would be okay to just hang out at the beach or play golf. For winter, both those options were out, and there wasn’t much to do there. But the main reason I am rating the hotel a 4 rather than a 5 is because of their spa. It was the worst spa at a luxury hotel that I had ever been to. The staff was inattentive, the quality of their services was mediocre, and they had no amenities at all for their clients. No towels in the locker room, nor anywhere in the sauna or pool areas. No hair brushes or combs for after you receive your services, so I went to the airport from the spa with greasy hair for the rest of the day from the facial and massages. Food at restaurants were likewise mediocre, but the saving grace for all this was our server, Mohamed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and was always trying to do more for our dinner experience.

A very nice hotel which benefits from an excellent team who provide a high level of service all round.
Enjoyed the large outdoor heated pool and indoor spa, the hotel also has it's own private beach area and a nearby golf course.
We ate in the Chinese and Tunisian restaurants which were both excellent and good value.
There was also live music every night at the bar which was very comfortable and again the service excellent.
If there is any criticism, the rooms would benefit from an upgrade. Doesn't need anything drastic, the shower blocked while we were there (quickly fixed) and a fresh coat of paint, re grouting and a new mirror in the bathroom would make a big difference.
Only a £10 taxi ride from the airport and most of the tourist attractions are within 15-20 minutes by taxi.
Would we go back, definitely.

This is a really beautiful building and resort area. I would highly recommend it for a family getaway and will almost certainly do so when its summer again. Highlights for me were the spa area, the grounds and outdoor pool area, the short distance from the airport, and the delicious meals.

5 star modern/traditional architecture and furniture is 100/10, it was very luxurious. I really felt it had embraced the Tunisian culture and I left feeling I had truly immersed in the culture. The reception is stunning with high ceilings, and you walk in to the incredible smell of jasmine. Our room was clean with an excellent layout (large shower and bathroom and king size bed) with a balcony out to the amazing pool and palm trees. The staff were kind and very keen to accommodate and please- we made friends with Anis who was so kind and attentive. They have a private beach you can walk to. The breakfast was also of very high quality- excellent options of both continental and traditional foods with a separate bambini and Tunisian bread stand outside freshly made in front of you. Didn’t make use of the spa and they had a small gym but had enough equipment required for me. Pool was pristine. The plants such as palm trees and olive trees are beyond beautiful.

Location
The hotel is next to a mall that has conveniently a carrefour and hairdressers that we used regularly at a very cheap price (had events to go to). The hotel is far from the souk but only 20 mins from La marsa and given taxi is so cheap this was honestly not an issue.

What a luxurious 5 star hotel. This was my first time staying here in Tunisia and my stay was impecable. The building is tastefully designed and the essential oil scent is relaxing as you enter the lobby with the in-floor fountain. The staff is all very kind and respectful. The food was delicious. There were chefs making omelets, crepes and tunisian bread. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was full of personal toiletries.

Overall the Resort was real nice. All Staff around the resort very lovely, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good, just at times we found the food replenishment to be bit slow. No half board etc options available, Al-arcate only for lunch and dinner which was fairly pricey but nice food. I am only giving 4* and not 5 because of 2 reasons. Outdoor pool very cold. Indoor pool for children only restricted between 8-10am and 12-2pm. Very hard managing around a 2yr old with his nap etc. One major downside was the Burkini ban. Being a muslim and being in a muslim country we did not expect this. Unfortunately my wife was not allowed in pool with me and my son so was not able to fully enjoy it. They allow muslim women to walk around whole grounds in hijab (scarf) but not in a pool which i found bemusing. Feedback given to manager who was really nice. Gave a Olive oil bottle (from hotel grounds) as a gesture to take back. Manager mentioned they will feedback to hotel chain execs on Burkini issue however i will not hold my breath with this being taken off. I would probably avoid this hotel for muslims as coming across as not so muslim freindly with the burkini ban. My advice to management was either fully allow burkini as you are a muslim country or allow burkini for certain times of the day. Secondly, the kids play room open only between 9-5pm for 3 yo only. We were given an exception but the 5pm finish meant we could not fully use the facility as we were out during the day.

The Residence Tunis was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Tunisia. The property is in a very quiet and safe location, and provides a multitude of amenities. The staff was incredible, helping us with anything we needed, from taxis to currency exchange, and everything in between. As an American, I highly recommend you stay here if you're considering a visit to Tunisia.

Great fancy stay with very welcoming staff and service during our stay until the checkout day!
we realized at the end that all services delivered to us were paid and the driver has been counting days we were not getting any of his services, for example he counted the checkin day as one of his driving days although I haven’t seen him during that day and took taxi from airport to the hotel assuming that the driver will start his payment and work starting from second day when my friend arrives, but we discovered at the checkout day that everything is money and had to pay the driver for unused days during our stay.

I recommend staying at the hotel but be careful and use external services or keep asking about extra charges on daily basis. And try to get a driver from a different company than the hotel if really needed.

I truly enjoyed my stay. I slept really well. The duration of my stay was great, my room was very comfortable. The front desk staff was exceptional. I wish I knew the young woman’s name because she deserves a promotion :) for sure! Breakfast was great everyday and I got a chance to eat at the restaurants as well. The only thing I was sad about was that I picked this property for the spa and gym mainly. The gym was very small, and the spa was under construction. So I was a disappointment. Nevertheless, I would stay here again, also recommend, if someone needed a suggestion.

A blissful experience

A beautiful venue, website does not do justice to the atmosphere abd beauty. Loved the design, architecture, comfort, professional yet friendly staff- from management to maintenence. Lovely grounds, short walk to private beach too. Only downside was no outside pool due to refurbishment/maintenance during our stay but team working on it round the clock - quietly. Only other minor noise issue meant couldn't sleep with balcony door open die to a nearby discotheque playing loud music but that will be commmon for any resident in the area. The hotel complex offers every comfort, I highly recommend it. Spa was relaxing too. We dud camel ride and horse riding on the beach (additional cost), a day out with the hotel recommended guide Fathi who looked after us, he went above and beyond what was expected. Thank you sooo much Bechir, Besma (management) and the whole team, esp Feysal at breakfast too. Looking forward to visiting again.

Outside pool was under renovation. Overall a nice hotel. The downside is that is super far from everything and since it's a five star hotel, taxis will always overcharge you to take you to anywhere. There is no service of tour in the hotel, they only recommend one guy that is always busy. They don't help on that. The spa is great, hamman is te best service! I just don't recommend the manicure service, very bad and expensive.

Always wonderful staying here. Staff is super nice and attentive, beautiful hotel... great breakfast... nice place to return to after exploring wonderful Tunis.

I truly enjoyed my 1 week stay at The Residence Tunis. It is a fine hotel with very welcoming ambiance, beautiful buidling and rooms in Arabic decor and a wonderful garden and beach. The birds sing beautifully in the morning when its time for the delicious breakfast.

The staff was very attentive throughout our stay. The accommodations, while not oversized, were very nice. Clean, updated, well maintained. Turndown service was a nice unexpected touch, and the spa was clean and well managed. Our massages were some of the best we have had in country, and the indoor salt pool was very refreshing.

A real 5 star hotel ! The staff make this hotel very special, great service from every staff member from porter to General Manager. We were made to feel so welcome and this was the same for the whole of our 10 days stay.
Beautiful calm interior, lovely spacious public areas, very comfortable seating in lounge bar. Spa area and the treatments were first class and not expensive given the quality.
Our Room was spacious and the bed in particular was the most comfortable ever encountered in a Tunisian hotel . The Bathroom with dressing area was well fitted and of top quality and unlike many Tunisian hotels everything worked as it should.
The breakfast buffet was something to marvel over, with the widest possible choice of food, from Tunisian hot and cold dishes to eggs or crepes freshly prepared to order, fresh fruit, savoury or sweet options and fresh homemade breads and croissants. It was the high spot of the day for us .
Food was available in the bar all day , plenty of choice with speciality evenings making for a nice change.
The Mediterranean restaurant was excellent with a great menu and the chef was happy to cook something special if asked. We had great grilled fish and salad and the waiter exhibited great skill when he took it off the bone for my wife. We also tried the Chinese Restaurant and were equally impressed. The Tunisian restaurant and menu looked nice but we decided to leave this until our next visit planned for September

Loved this hotel

I loved this hotel. I was there for six days. It is beautiful from the lobby, to the rooms and to the outdoors including the pool. My room was very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool and with a view to the beach beyond. The bathroom had a “dressing room” area with plenty of drawers and space for clothes. Service was impeccable and friendly. It is away from the Medina but I was taking mostly day trips out of Tunis so this worked for me. But could be a bit far for those who want to be in the heart of Tunis.

We had a simply wonderful stay. The staff are attentive and professional at all times. The lady at the breakfast reception was such a happy and friendly individual it made you want to have a good day! We were made to feel welcome upon arrival and given details of what was on offer. We arrived very late and the hotel provided a small meal for us. It is these types of gestures that go a very long way!

Breakfast Is a must - a real treat. The crepes were wonderful- made to order- and the freshly squeezed orange juice was divine.

We would definitely return here.
