Everything was great! It is a very short ride from Malè International Airport, which we loved. The island is small and you have privacy. We really enjoyed that there is kind of semi-private beach in front of every house, and the reefs are very nice for snorkelling. The food was great, and the stuff was amazing.
The resort is very small, which on the one hand is very quiet and relaxing, but on the other side in case it's raining continuously, you have limited options on how to spend your time.

We really loved the small and intimate feel of the resort. The staff really went out of their way to create a great experience for all the guests. One of the highlights of this location is their home reef just steps from the beach. They will give you snorkel equipment and if the weather had been nicer when we stayed (during August Monsoon), I could have spent the whole day out there. We did bite the bullet and go out snorkeling when the weather showed no signs of letting up and still saw a lot of sea life, including both a white tip and black tip reef shark. The rooms were very nice and the all-inclusive package was probably one of the best I have seen. We didn't part-take in the alcohol in the room, but it along with the snacks were very well stocked. We booked the jacuzzi room, which could have been a really nice, but the water to fill the jacuzzi was coming out brown. Likely due to rust of the pipes. A sign or something stating what it was might have helped us look past that. Their main restaurant was very nice and had a good selection of foods for our taste. The bar was also wonderful and exceptional service. This is not a couples-only resort and it did appear we were out numbered by families. We have our own children (who stayed with grandma) so this didn't bother us at all, but something to note. We were most impressed with their teams attention and efforts to make our trip fantastic from the moment we landed to the moment they brought us back to the airport.

A wonderful stay on this small island. The staff were outstanding, our villa great, the restaurant food and bar excellent. We were a minute to the beach and snorkelling and a short stroll to the beautiful restaurant setting. Our first time in the Maldives, but we think this place is just right.

Everything is absolutely perfect: the hospitality, the service the food, the rooms, the beach, all. only thing stopping me tl give this a perfect 10 is the fact the island ( i assume) wants to be orientated towards family friendly, but it went overboard. It was full of toddlers, a mean i have never seen so many toddlers in one place in any hotel in my life. As the island is very small, you can't have any place to hide from them. It would have been better if they would at least split the island in half: one side family friendly and the other for couples. At least the couples can have some quiet.

Best Island reef in the Maldives

This island is a gem when it comes to marine life; some of the best snorkelling I've ever had worldwide, period, and I snorkelled and scuba dive in a lot of places. Half of the reef is in excellent condition, and for a Maldivian island this is pretty spectacular. This was my 5th time in the Maldives, I first came in 1997, and this is the best island I stayed. No water bungalows, motorized sports, or useless luxuries, absolutely great. this is what a Maldivian island should be. Great Spa, very good beach Bungalows, excellent service, and overall decent food (just a bit repetitive at times). Take your snorkelling gears (or get it on the island free of charge) and you will enjoy Turtles, Black / White tips and Nurse Sharks, sting and eagle rays, and of course all the usual suspects to be found in the Maldives. We stayed in Angsana for 7 days, and didn't even feel the need to scuba dive. Thanks to all the staff, we had a great week, and I can assure you that if I travel back to the Maldives, I will stay at Angsana Ihuru.

We booked 2 villas with whirpools for a 3 night stay for 4 adults and 1 child. The rooms are old and hence a bit worn out and dated. Fairly basic amenities and not certainly 5 star by any standard. The jacuzzi didnt work the first night so we called someone to fix it which they did. It worked for a day and then again broke down.... and this time we just left it alone. The staff are good though and do their best to accommodate you. its a very small resort so there is only one restaurant and a bar and the food choices are fairly limited with just a few types of cuisines. The reef is cool and snorkeling around the reef is great! Other water sports activities are fairly limited . Scuba is only for certified divers and after a couple of days you run out of things to do and also for cuisine choices for food....

Good resort close to Male.

Angsana is an older resort, so the rooms are a bit dated, but they are very clean and everything was still functional.
Food is very good and staff are exceptional.
A lot of fish on the local reef.
Best rooms 38-28 for great sunset view.
1 is next to the restaurant, the garden of 46 has not much privacy and 40 to 46 have less beach in front of the room.
WiFi is slow.

Amazing resort. Beach is very quiet and private given the small size of the resort and the fact that each villa has its own beach area. Good activities for free (snorkeling, kayaking, yoga, etc) and also a good assortment of reasonably priced guided activities offered by the resort. Food at the resort and the neighboring Banyan Tree island is very good. Service is outstanding and people really go out of their way to make sure you are happy and well taken care of.

Overall excellent. Our objective is to relax for one week and enjoy the sunshine and the white sand beach. We chose this hotel because of 5 reasons : 1. house reef 2. cosy accommodation (room size 57 sq. metre with ocean view, and very clean) 3. transport to Male airport via speedboat 4. food choice includes Asian choice 5. total spending be within US$6000, including all meals and drinks, accommodation, air ticket, speedboat.
Angsana Ihuru has met all our needs. We do snorkelling (snorkel mask and flipper are free for rent), relaxing under trees while listening to music (the hotel provides an USB MP3 player), island hopping (free hop to the next island every day), table tennis and playing chess.

Fabulous snorkelling steps away from lovel villa.

Fabulous service from friendly staff from the moment we were greeted at the airport and whisked away to our speedboat transfer.
The great design of the villas, especially the outdoor space means that you really do get your own secluded piece of paradise.
Excellent house reef so easy to access and also opportunity to use the 2 hourly ferry service to the sister resort 5 mins away with daily stingray and turtle feeding.
Weather not so good while we were there but plenty of indoor space too.

Marine Life Centre Extravaganza

A unqinue location allowing travel to the sister Banyan tree island every 2 hours by a 2min boat ride. An amazing marine centre with leading wild life activities like baby turtle cleaning, weighing and measuring, reef cleaning of crown of thorns start fish and snorking on two great house reefs and marin biology 1hour lectures! All delivered by lovely very knowledgeable staff.

Great Resort

The staff provided excellent service. They promptly replied all my inquiries and questions through emails.
The resort is remarkable and the view is very beautiful. They provided everything for us in our room and we did not have to worry about a thing. As we were on our honeymoon trip, they gave us a bottle of red wine in our room and a special honeymoon dinner at the beach.
The portion of food was big and the taste was good.
The only bad thing is, it was raining on our last day at the resort, so not much to do on that day.
Overall it was a great experience to stay at this resort. Definitely considering to come back here some time in the future.

Maldivian idyll with excellent snorkeling

Short (5 day) trip to the Maldives with the objectives of relaxation and snorkelling. Angsana Ihuru did not let us down on either of these .. From the warm welcome upon arrival to final departure (with the exception of a rather rushed \"farewell drink\" everything about this stay was simply fantastic. The arrangements in terms of island transfer were very efficient, and even though we arrived early in Male, we were able to check-in early and be in the water already by midday on the day we arrived. On the island the staff were super friendly and helpful at all times. I will echo also comments by others that the dinner arrangements - in terms of mixing things up between buffet-style meals and a set-menu - is a great idea, and made dining in the restaurant a fresh experience each day. We chose this island on account of the good snorkeling and were not disappointed. Not quite as many large shoals of fish as seen on our previous stay, but a great variety of fish, and daily encounters with both sea turtles and reef sharks.

Intimate place. Great for a few days.

Short transfer from Male. We were at the island in just over an hour after arriving with the plane. The place is rather intimate. A small resort with just one restaurant. This worked out fine for us. Children (18, 17 and 10) also enjoyed the place.

Simply wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay at Angsana Ihuru. It's our 3rd time here and we were impressed with the improvements made to the villas. The room has been expanded and is very comfortable. You have a private garden with deck chairs, your own swing, and a lounge bed! The house reef is within easy reach from the beach and the snorkeling is great. The spa is excellent and makes this resort a wonderful place to relax and chill out. The food has improved from our first trip more than a decade ago and caters to a more international mix now. You can watch sting rays and turtles being fed on the neighbouring island resort which is 5 mins away by boat. A reminder for us to treat the marine environment with respect and care. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. We will be back!

The resort which will exceed your expectation...

Amazing resort with exceptional staff. We were met at the airport and it took us less than 5 minute to be on the speed boat. We then were met with Karen .... An angel from the sky which makes everything feel as if we are the only customers in the hotel... Ismail in the room service and another Ismail at the restaurant were also amazing.
Very nice rooms, you will have your private beach and in room open air jacuzzi. (We were at a beachfront villa with jacuzzi).
Very professional Padi diving center with free snorkelling equipment.
This resort have the best house reef in Maldives... Amazing sea life just 5 meters from your beach.
We were allowed to stay till 2100 hrs as we had a late flight and were not charged a cent....
For sure this is the only place i will be when i am in Maldives...

Amazing location, amazing team, wonderful stay

We had an amazing experience at Angsana Ihuru. We loved the place and would absolutely recommend it. We were (are) a couple looking for a romantic, relaxing get-away. Angsana Ihuru was perfect. The facilities were very clean. The rooms were right on the water and provided privacy; the standards were high. The \"house reef\" was amazing - we could go snorkeling and see sharks, turtles, so so many beautiful fish and live coral. This is a truly special place. They offered lots of activities and it was easy to book them. The staff/team were amazingly helpful and went out of their way to notice our needs and help to make our stay special. We did the sandbank dining which was a truly incredible experience, to eat a fancy meal on a beautiful, isolated sandbank in the middle of the ocean. The food, in general, was very good.

This is without doubt the ideal tropical retreat, no motorised vehicles just 46 beachside bungalows spread out around the perimeter of the island, which means that you can walk completely around the island on the beach in 15 minutes! This is the place to come if you want nothing more than water activities, sunbathing,eating,drinking and catching up on your favourite novels.
The ratio of staff to guests is one to one although you may never see the majority as they are working behind the scenes to maintain the essential services. Those front of house staff that you meet are very good at remembering your likes and dislikes and have a great sense of humour.
There is an abundance of fish on the reef, and you will probably see some black or white tipped reef sharks (they are harmless).do not miss the daily sting ray feeding on the sister island..
Do not worry about mosquitos as the island is fumigated twice a week.

Best snorkeling area

The reef is very close to the island. Very accomodating staff. Ibrahim,our roomboy make it a point that our room is always clean and in proper order. He cleans our room 2x a day. Our last night was a big surprise because of his effort and artistic decorations he made on our bed. The massage with scrub is highly recommended. We had the best massage with Atika. The most relaxing one I ever had to date. The storekeepers like Amie and especially Jamal were so helpful as he assisted us with our shopping both in Angsana and Banyan galleries. Overall, our stay was a big Wow because of all these wonderful people serving us and the beautiful surroundings of the resort. Hope to be back there again.

Fantastic experience. Small and cosy island. High level of service from all staff.
Spacious beach villa with great bubble bath and walk- in to beach for nice morning or evening dip.

Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner facilities. Nice cafe / restaurant that serves seesha and plenty of exotic drinks.

Great spa with good massage for total relaxation.

As for activities all centered around water activities: swim dive fish snorkel kayak sail etc. You can snorkel around the island and plenty of ocean live to experience . We saw many different fish including Barracuda , Rays, sharks and a very friendly turtle.

Wow. Thanks to Angsana Ihuru and Banyan Tree team for making our stay truly memorable. We spent 4 nights at Angsana Ihuru from 22 to 26 Sep and are taking with us lovely memories. Pristine resort, fanatic devotion to environment and genuine efforts by one and all characterizes the twin resorts. They live up to the legacy of Banyan Tree and Angsana resorts worldwide. Ultimately it is the people who make a resort so very special. Right from Room Service Manager Jihad to guest relations Laila, Apple and F&B team Husham, Alvin and not to forget the exceptional Marine center team Hamdan, Thuthu and Dr. Steve everyone went out of the way to ensure that we had a memorable holiday. Jihad showed us the staff facilities and the services facilities and it is really impressive. Thuthu in particular was so patient and supremely confident in letting us have our first snorkeling experience of life ( both of us don't know swimming). We will wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone who wishes to experience Paradise and exceptional hospitality. Well done team Angsana! Keep it up.

Nice resort with wonderful house reefs. Excellent services from all the hotel staff particularly Alvin, F&B Manager who catered to our every requests, Mohamed, Front Office Supervisor who organised a great villa for us with easy access to the house reef among others, and Faud who took care of our villa during our stay. Apple and another staff from the Spa were very honest staff who found our camera we thought we had lost. Overall experience for us has been most wonderful.

A true gem in every way, big bonus for us it doesn't cater for children. We are booking to go again.
The only shock was to find Nescafe coffee in the room, we'll take our own ground coffee on the next trip, a small point but if your like us and enjoy a cuppa in bed before the day begins, Nescafe is not drinkable or coffee. We spend 5 days in paradise, it wasn't long enough.

Nearly perfect snorkeling vacation

My wife and I chose this hotel/resort because multiple guidebooks said it had the best house reef in the Maldives, and the reef lived up to our hopes and expectations. We snorkeled off the beach twice each day (even when it rained on our final full day) and had wonderful experiences each time. The reef was in great shape, and we viewed abundant fish and other sea life (including 3 species of rays and two of sea turtles), Access through the house reef to the outer reef wall was easy, and the dive shop staff provided good information on tides and currents. Dining room and other staff were very friendly and helpful, and included a good mix of native Maldivians and other nationalities. We chose their full meal plan and found the food plentiful, fresh, and tasty, particularly the salads, omelets, fresh fruit, and grilled meats & fish, and menu selections at non-buffet dinners. The beachfront villas were spacious, well-maintained, and lovely accommodations, with secluded and well-shaded decks and sand back yards opening onto the beach. All in all, our 7-night stay provided a great escape from the cold Chicago winter.

Perfect holiday

We really enjoyed our one-week stay at Angsana Ihuru. In particular we found two things that stood out. The first were coral reefs surrounding the island. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and the hotel makes a great effort to maintain its health. (We saw the staff diving and cleaning.) And it literally starts right at the beach just outside of your villa, so you don’t really have to go far to see all those colourful fish inhabiting them. The second is its staff. They were so friendly and helpful. They would take time to listen to you, and do everything to answer your needs, which undoubtedly added a sense of this holiday being something special. We also used the spa which offers several packages, and the treatment done by Atika was very good.

Before I go, I want to share what I think is a important piece of information with future guests. One of the staff took us a tour of the facility inside the hotel, and there we learned that the hotel derives all the water they use (not only bottled drinking water in the room, but also tap water in the bathroom) by filtering sea water. Likewise, all the electricity is generated from diesel fuel on the island. Needless to say, it means they cost a lot to both the hotel and the environment, so I think we all should play our parts to conserve them. Thank you.

Fantastic Experience

We travelled as a family and were a bit apprehensive about the rooms because the online photos were not too impressive given the price. But thankfully, we were all pleasantly surprised with the condition and aesthetics of the rooms. We were very happy with almost everything and the staff. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and felt sad to leave such a beautiful island, resort, fantastic house reef, friendly staff, good service and high standards.

We were very happy to have chosen Angsana Ihuru, as the service was exceptional and every one of the Angsana associates (staff) had got out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Ihuru offers the best snorkeling place…. from mere meters from your villa. My kids age 3, 11, 15 all enjoyed snorkeling at Ihuru, great visibility, sighted black tip sharks, turtles, rays, clown fishes, GT's, wrasses etc. We are very pleased that Angsana have a reef preservation program as well. Food was great, from the breakfast buffet to the a la carte menu. As Angsana is associated with the Banyan Tree and it is also a stone throw away from the Banyan Tree, we felt that we were not stuck on the island, we alternate our activities between Angsana and the Banyan Tree… great location There is an hourly free shuttle service between the two island). The villa was comfortable for all of us and we had additional beds for the kids, the outdoor furniture ( the swing and the round day bed) just outside our villa was where we spend most days relaxing, listening to the soft waves splashing into the beach and the gentle wind breezing through the trees… paradise. We will definitely go back, already planning our next trip. Thank You to all at Angsana.

we stayed there for 4 nights and loved it. it helps to have the reef s few feet away from the resort and the beginners snorkle at the beach side of the reef and the advanced snorklers at the other deeper end of the reef. both sides were very good and full of fish.

Spectacular scenery, snorkeling & service

This was our first time in the Maldives and we're already planning a trip back with our kids. This little island is breathtaking above and below the water, the staff is friendly and professional even though they must see a million tourists, the villas are a good size with outdoor showers, and the food at the bar is really good. Access to the sister island (Banyan Tree) made us appreciate our house reef which is a few steps away from our doorstep and the privacy of having just 40+ villas on the island. Leave your shoes and worries behind and make sure you take time to chill on the ferry dock and have dinner on the beach. Simply amazing.

Excellent Snorkeling and a beautiful property

This property is located within easy reach of the international airport by speedboat, which was very convenient and more economical than having to take a sea plane. Our hut opened up to a nice seating area with the water within easy reach. The room was very comfortable. The coral reef is close to the shore and within very easy reach for even novice snorkelers. We were amazed by the diversity and quantity of sea life that we were able to see. This island is a must see.

Wonderful house reef!

We stayed for 4 nights with a teen and a toddler. Lovely time! Bring your own snorkels for good fit (mask and mouth piece), but you can borrow fins and vests for free. The fishies are truly gems! Please, if you visit, take care not to bother them or step on their corals. What we saw is that they are still very beautiful. Some spots were probably accidentally stepped on, though. But I saw only a couple of spots at most. So beautiful and scary, the dropoff. Unfortunately we didn't meet any turtles or sharks. But another guest says she saw a black tip shark in the shallow waters from the beach. The only gripe is the Food! It's so boring and unimaginative! We had to eat from the very limited room service menu every single meal. It is not better when we come down to the restaurant. And they took so long to prepare the meals. Other than that, man, this is truly the once in a lifetime holiday we want to repeat! Thank you, Chloe, Vanessa, Jamal, Ahmed, Shareef, Asim, and the baby blue eyed curly blond guy manning the watersports. Ciao!

Anksana Ihuru, Maldives-great for snorkelling

Anksana is a great choice for those seeking an easily accessible reef, vibrant with a variety of fish. Each time we saw a couple of black-tip sharks, 2-4 feet in length (not aggressive) and a couple times over 4 days we saw rays. We did not partake in the other activities except scuba, good dive instructor. The resort offers water skiing, free kayaking, sailing, tubing. One advantage is the connection with Banyan tree, a few minutes away by boat, so you see a different reef and sea turtle feeding. The island can be circled in 10 minutes by foot, and housing is connected, but we neither saw nor heard ouur neighbors, so sufficient privacy. Our priority was snorkelling and boat rather than plane from Male, so a good choice.

素晴らしいリゾートでした

一年に一度は海のリゾートに行きますが、こちらのリゾートは私達にとっては最高でした。
シュノーケルをする人に、是非オススメしたいリゾートです。(ラグジュアリーさを求める方は違うと思います)

コテージを出て、庭を抜けるとすぐ海に出られるし、エントリーポイントからすぐに竜宮城の様な世界が現れます。
生きた珊瑚礁、前後左右を埋め尽くす数知れない魚達！
魚の数が、半端じゃありません。餌付けされてないのに、そこらじゅう魚で埋めつくされる世界は圧巻でした。
運良く、シュノーケルで海亀も見れましたし、アジの大群(300匹位？)がトルネードしているのも見れました。朝食を取っていた時に、すぐ側をイルカが泳いで通り過ぎるのも見れました。
部屋は一日2回もクリーニングに来てくれて、とても清潔ですし、タオル類も常に取り替えてくれるので、気持ち良く過ごせました。
日本人スタッフは居ませんが、スタッフさんは私達が日本人だと分かると日本語で話し掛けてくれたり、とても親切です。
食事をする所も、とても清潔に保たれているので、気持ち良く食事ができました。
(個人的に、朝食バイキングなんかで、料理にハエや虫なんかがたかってると、食欲がなくなるのですが、こちらのリゾートはその様な事がありませんでした)

一点だけ厳しい評価があるとすれば、私達はお酒を良く飲むので、酒代がそれなりにかかった事でしょうか。
モルディブはお酒の持ち込みが禁止されてるので、リゾートのバーでしか選択肢がないので、それなりにかかりました。
(ビア小7ドル/大11ドル、ワイン10ドル～、カクテル13ドル～だった様に記憶してます。部屋の冷蔵庫も同じ位でした。売店はありますが、酒類は売ってません。)
まぁこれに関しては、こちらのリゾートに限った事ではないので、マイナスではありません。

総評して、こちらのリゾートはオススメで、また行きたい(絶対行く)リゾートでした。ホテル代が控えめな料金設定なのもありがたいです。
モルディブは天候との兼ね合いで、表情が変わるので、今回は天気が良かったのもあるかも知れませんが、大満足なリゾートでした。

浮潛環境佳、度假村景色優美。

度假村景色優美，服務人員親切有笑容，沙灘小屋出去即可浮潛，魚群很多，雖然珊瑚白化嚴重，但我們看到3次海龜、1次魟魚，免費搭船去另一個島看餵食秀，看到很多北鼻鯊、魟魚。
我們訂的是一泊二食，餐點十分美味，早餐有現打果汁喝到飽、稀飯、麵食都有，晚餐一天自助一天套餐，都很好吃。餐廳就在海邊，晚上每桌都點燭火，用餐環境非常怡人。
客房每天清潔兩次，很乾淨，每天補充瓶裝水3000CC，完全不用擔心飲水問題。客房有按摩浴缸，浮潛完泡個熱水澡很舒服。早晨有免費瑜珈，週四晚上有當地民宿音樂表演。
SPA價格親民，60分鐘55美金、90分鐘65美金，出海活動在潛水中心可預訂，一般有的都可見。還可以免費借浮潛用具、獨木舟、立槳。
我們是7月雨季前往住宿五天四夜，每天天氣都很好，離開前，服務人員很用心的幫忙聯繫了下一個度假村，我們直接在機場碼頭被下一家度假村的人員接待，十分感謝伊瑚魯悦椿的用心。
