I requested a room upgrade from Expedia and was told I’d have to pay at the hotel. But as it was low season, the staff upgraded my room from for free. I was very grateful and really enjoyed my stay here. They’ve a really nice swimming pool and are also just a few minutes walk from the beach. I’d recommend this hotel.

There’s no elevator to certain rooms, and no bell boys to help carry my luggage up. The room was clean, pool was decent, shower was alright. The drinks at the pool were pretty good but the neighborhood is pretty seedy. Be careful at night where you walk on the blocks around the hotel because the streets are dark and the sidewalks are uneven and have lots of holes. The beach is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel

Clean rooms, good wifi, decent staff and nice pool. Normal air conditioning. My only real complaint was you need to take the stairs after the elevator because some of the rooms aren’t connected to the main building. Also the area is a bit seedy so I wouldn’t recommend walking at night. But the hotel is really nice, no gross smells and rooms have refrigerator

Great modern clean hotel about 20/25 minute walk to to the beach. Bars and restaurants all around you plenty of taxis around too. Would recommend Samui football golf with free pickup from hotel . Would stop here again!!

When we got our room, it was obvious we it had not been cleaned. The toilet had urine and hair. The floor was sticky and sandy. The sheets were dirty and had mascara all over them. When I asked reception she assured me it had been clean. I did manage to get the sheets changed. The rest of the hotel was similar. The shower and towels were excellent. I would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it.

The hotel is very basic although advertised to be more than just basic. Could not get any more budget like. Stayed at many hostels which were way better than this. My advise would be not to stay here but go else where. The staff are not helpful or friendly and anything is considered against hotel policy or if they do something it is with a fuss. There are many hidden charges e.g. not being able to bring water to the pool but having to buy it from them at inflated prices.

You get what you pay for.

The only thing that is nice about the place is the pool. The main woman at the front desk is really rude and doesn't care about making your stay pleasant. The room is cleaned everyday but there are sticky stains everywhere. The location is 10 minute walk to the beach and it's not the nicest one. It was cheap and near a place we needed to be so we stayed there. But we wouldn't do it again.

This hotel is a five-minute walk from the beach. Plenty of good places to eat around the area. The main part area of Chaweng is a far walk.

The hotel has a great, large pool--probably its best feature--with a bar. There is a restaurant and it appeared good.

The rooms are fine, with a safe, umbrellas, TV, bed, etc.

The hotel is in at least two buildings and they are at different levels, making it confusing to find one's room at first and requiring walk across a small bridge at quite a slant.

I asked to print out some documents and they did so without question or a fee. That was nice.

I tried to book an extra night but it was sold out. Popular place.

The only part that was negative is the receptionists didn't seem helpful nor welcoming.

Everything seems well maintained.

Overall, you're getting a nice hotel for a good price. You can get cheaper, but the quality of the hotel will be lower. I doubt it's worth paying more than this for a place to sleep.

Stayed 19-Feb-2015 for 3 nights in Deluxe studio room 3 409, without breakfast.
We arrived at 20:45pm and waited a long time for check-in due to absence of staff (Later I noticed that check-in closes at 22:00pm). No porter available to carry our bags.

Reggae Bar and the green are 20-mins walk away.
Chaweng town centre is a shared taxi ride away.

It had a very small shower cubicle sized balcony with a restricted view of the mountains.
Didn't like the 2*bedroom yellow-lights, preferred white light. There were also 2 LED-spotlights by the bedside.
Hot water was lacking on 2 days, ok on the third.

Had to wait at checkout, 12:00pm - very busy, for our room to be checked. We got no feedback from them so left for our taxi after 20 minutes.

Overpriced and no airport shuttle.

I booked this hotel because I thought I was suppose to have a free airport shuttle. It is listed under the amenities and one assumes that it is included because of the way it is listed with other amenities. It did not say surcharge. I got ripped off with the taxi bill for a. 5 minute ride to the airport.

A decent property within the reach of most happening place in samui. Chawaeng beach is just 5 min walk away. Lots of options for dinning and shopping.

However the property was about average in terms of overall amenities and room quality. Very low lighting inside room may make you feel dull. A pillar inside room was not really helping with the overall space, I hope it is not with every room.

Recommend this place - best all rounder

This hotel was in a great setting as has it's own large pool with small children's pool, staff in attendance, yet close to the craziness of Chaweng (if required). Not sure if Chaweng should be chosen for a family holiday but this hotel would help as it is set apart by location and ground space. This does not mean it is far to anything it's just more protected from the hustle of Chaweng. An oasis really. Very mixed crowd, young people, older, families, great facilities for those with wheel chairs. Loud music at times - generally an upbeat place. Best staff I have encountered in many years. Breakfast was fine with a range of fruit, juices, toast, banana bread, warm Thai food and you can order whether you want fried, scrambled eggs or an omelette - made fresh. Wifi goes in and out but worked fine mostly. Even has a small open gym if you're inclined - I wasn't. This was the last place I stayed in Koh Samui and it was a positive experience. Would recommend. Think they had a shuttle to the beach but it was not safe at all to swim while I was there and I love waves- red flags continually so the pool was welcomed.

It was best for value for accommodation in Chaweng, within comfortable walking distance to eateries, massage and nightlife. Nice pool, but excessive chlorinated water. Avoid the expensive meant for tourist eateries. Many nearby tours offices to plan and arrange for activities/ transportation with negotiable prices. Would definitely return if staying in Chaweng.

We had a hot-water issue. it took more than 20 minutes to get hot water whenever we wanted to shower. When we called for assitance, a maintanance person was sent, he did not speak english, and he tried to tell me that there is hot water after 20 minutes. Total waste of time. I was them offered an upgrade which I turned down simce I was leaving the next morning. However, when telling friends who stayed there aswell about this issue, they all knew about the hot water issue, and apparently all rooms have the problem. Overall, greate pool (Even though it's in the driveway) and greate location for us

Great stopover in Samui

We had two nights in Samui and didn't want to break the bank! This hotel was perfect for that, such good value for money. The room was big and perfect for what we needed! The hotel is really close to the beach and the town where everything is going on. I would definitely stay here again on a quick visit to Samui and I would recommend to friends. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here.

First of all the hotel is very cheap for what you get so we were happy about that, however we still had some issues.

The staff were generally friendly until we complained about the shower being cold and the rain shower not working in our room. First they got a cleaning staff member to have a look but of course she couldn't do anything so they called their 'plumber'. we left while he was fixing it, excepting it to be done when we got back but nothing was changed except the rain shower worked a tiny bit better (still no where near properly). We called them again, but this time to also mention the pipe in the sink that was leaking, and again they called the plumber however he could only fix the sink, not the shower. Eventually they tried to settle it by saying that the shower temperature is the same in every other room. We definitely weren't happy but couldn't be bothered fighting with them again about it.

Overall however our room was actually really clean and roomy which we were quite impressed with.

The breakfast was ridiculous- barely any decent choice however you can't expect much from the low price you pay.

the pool was pretty good, it was large and had a bar next to it. The gym wasn't too bad either. In terms of location it is pretty close to the start of Chaweng road and a very short walk to the great outdoor night food market and the beach.

Hotel is very clean throughout and the rooms are certainly comfortable enough as appropriate for a 3 star hotel. Pool was nice and the walk to the beech was about 10 minutes or so. it was an easy 5 minute walk to the Beit Chabad and its kosher restaurant.

excellent hotel at the bottom of Chaweng Beach resort. Hotel is decorated well, pool is good with towels provided and a food and drinks service. Breakfast is a mix of fruit, cereal, hot eggs and sausages and Thai curry. Rooms are spacious. We had 2 twin rooms which were a good size with a decent shower and widescreen tv with input for HD devices and USB. I recommend this place and would return if visiting the Chaweng beach area.

All the essentials in convenient location

Set back far enough from chaweng's Main Street that you get a good nights sleep. Verticolour is a 5 minute walk to the beach and some good restaurants. (Phensiri Thai bistro was excellent)

The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their job which makes a pleasant change from other establishments.

The rooms were clean and towels etc replaced daily, decent gym equipment too.

Go to the nearby cafés for breakfast though.

Would definitely stay here again, Samui was great.

Terrible staff, reflection of a terrible manager.

The hotel itself was clean although the room smelt like chemicals. Bathrooms were a tight fit and the hotel just seemed to lack character and instead had random bursts of color. Good hotel to stay at if you just want somewhere close to pass out after a day or night of binge drinking.
However if you need assistance or have a problem do not count on the staff for any sort of assistance. They are horribly rude and seem to go out of their way not to assist you. I feel like their work ethic was reinforced through poor management. The manager we had the \"joy\" of dealing with was not capable of basic customer service skills and at one point answered a call while we were explaining our problems. Later in the conversation she simply walked away and closed her office door leaving her staff to try and sort out the confrontation.
This hotel is chain that seems to have no proper management in place.
There are so many hotels in Thailand with staff and management who will go out of there way to try and assist you and what ever needs you may have. Overall Samui Verticolor seems to be run by a major corporation whose main mission is to make money through overworked and under payed staff at a hotel that provides cheap room rates for tourists. If your cup of tea is being around unhappy employes in a negative atmosphere this is the place for you.

9 boys travelling stayed here for 3 nights. 5 minute drive to centre. Great views. Can walk down the beach to the centre takes about 20 mins. Hotel bar is good let's you play your own music too. 5 minute drive from the half moon party which was class! Hotel bathrooms could do with a revamp. When storms hit be careful when walking down the stairs. Hotel pool very nice too. Overall a good hotel to stay at!

Stay there – Brilliant - virtually 4 star

I stayed here for 2 days in November 2013 and just stayed again for 3 days in June 2014.

They now give free wifi and breakfast was included for £26 a night for two people.

Being located next to on the main road it is well located. Cost by ‘van taxi’ into the centre is £1 or 50 bht (they ask for £2). The room was large modern and very attractive with a good effective air conditioning system. It had a large 32 inch modern TV (many channels incl. some English) , a room safe is provided. It boats a good sized bathroom with modern fixtures and a shower with plenty of hot water. Free water, and you can make yourself some tea or coffee.

The breakfast was good in many ways. A choice of drinks, Corn flakes, some Thai and English traditional fayre which they made a good attempt at keeping hot. My suggestion is for a little more choice. E.g. some other cereals, yogurt, two egg offerings per day and someone on hand to cook say a fresh omlete.

Although the hotel is pretty new there are signs of wear and tear… e.g the door to the shower room looked grubby and needed cleaning or some fresh paint. There were coffee stains on the bedside cabinet.

Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would recommend the hotel and stay there again. The value is nearly top rate is the provision. I consider it 4 star and is by far the best Hotel I have stayed in at Koh Samui.

Amazing hotel

I checked in for my week stay and was greeted by super nice staff. The hotel itself looks modern from the outside but when you see your room, you're even more amazed. The room is clean, comfortable and really funky looking.

During the day hanging by the the pool was awesome. Very young and hip crowd which is great.

The hotel is a 1.5 min walk from the main road, very close to some nice western restaurants and also authentic Thai restaurants.

Overall I couldn't fault my stay at all, some friends who paid triple the price to stay else where were contemplating cancelling their hotel to stay at mine. Highly recommend!

Staff ok allways treid to help id recomend this hotel clean modern location was good 3 min walk to center of chewang.

Modern hotel with good service & facilities.

Nice pool, good rooms, bathroom all good, near beach & Main Street (but far enought from clubs to avoid noise), good bars & restaurants nearby. Breakfast very good. Hotel staff friendly & helpful.

Comfortable bed, clean room, staff not to friendly

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Pool area looked clean but did not use. Staff not overly helpful or friendly which is a shame. Breakfast was way to expensive for what it is (150BHT). But very impressed with the room itself. Location is great, still on the best street to stay but not in the busy nightlife which was nice.

nice clean hotel

spent a week at the samui verticolor and had a very relaxing problem free stay.

room was very clean and was cleaned every day, was pretty much how the room looked from the professional photos,well except from the floor was not as shiny.

room had mini fridge which had complimentary bottles of water which were restocked when used.
had a in room safe to keep your belongings.

bathroom was nice and clean to have a relaxing shower.
had a tv which showed a limited number of channels which had a movie channel and bbc news.but really hardly watched any tv.air conditioning in the room worked well

breakfast consisted of the usual variety you would find in a 3 star hotel in england like boiled, fried, scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit etc.but if you missed breakfast there is a nice cheap thai restaurant 50 metres from the hotel just before you get to main road.

its about 15 minute walk to the main part of chaweng were all the bars are but there are plenty of shops and restaurants along the way you can look in.

you can also rent a scooter from the hotel for 250thb a day to get out and about.

the pool is decent and used a lot by the guests.
the only real negative is that there is no free wifi in the rooms so you'll need to buy some minutes if you want wifi.i paid 500thb for 24 hours of wifi usage which lasted my stay.can use the free wifi in the lobby though if you dont wanna pay. so for a 3star hotel I would give it 4/5 for a nice clean and safe hotel .

nice room

nice, big, modern room, but rude reception staff. There was loud music coming from a bar outside my room until 3am every morning, so I do not reccomend this hotel if you will not be out partying all night.

Nice and clean but a bit of a walk

Rooms were very clean and looked like they had just been redone. Beds were comfy, bathroom clean, free water. Pool was nice, ordered food at the pool and it was good. The only fault is the tiny road up to the hotel is a bit rough looking, construction work going on near it and I wouldn't walk it by myself at night. The main area to eat etc is a good 10 min walk away but overall we were happy!

Good service, room had been painted recently and a little smelly but overall great value for the money. They only give you 1 room key so you cant leave on the aircon while your out.

Excellent hotel in everyway!!

This hotel is in a great location near to chaweng beach and the main strip but at the quiet end so suitable for everyone!

The staff were really friendly, food was good, pool was really nice and the room was so clean with a modern touch!! The most comfy bed we have slept in yet!! Such a great find for a bargain price!!

Relaxing time in comfortable facilities

Had some difficulty communicating with staff. Staff do not show any interest in promoting local tourist assets. I suggest the swimming pool or part thereof be covered in shade. Off season rates are very attractive, value for money. Location in Chaweng is as good as anywhere along that strip and not too far from the beach.

Buzzing Chaweng in peaceful surroundings !

The hotel airport meet and drop off is very efficient . The Verticolor has a lovely contemporary feel throughout with a great size swimming pool . All the staff are very helpful and cheerful.
The location gives good access to the busy beech of Chaweng as well as being in a tranquil
setting .Excellent value .
