Highlight of the hotel, 1 block from the club district. 2 pools and a hot tub. Loved the hot water from the hot tub. Spacious suite. A negative was trying to take a shower with 4-6 droplets coming from the faucet lol you must Remind them to clean your room or they won’t stop by unfortunately. Noise construction at 8am was not a positive experience if you’re trying to sleep.

The Condo building itself was very well maintained. Friendly staff. Secure building. The host to our apartment was unresponsive right from the booking. We had unit #103 . The host never responded to any emails sent before arrival. Even when we were there, host did not respond to his whats app or look at it , with a very serious issue we had in Unit.. We would definitely stay at Singular Joy again. But never with this host.

The worst, our bed sheets were dirty with multiple stains and our towels were so old and dingy not to mention the smell and stains. The loud sound of music playing all night long to late morning was unbearable unable to sleep or even rest. My stay was from Saturday to Thursday and by Sunday I requested a refund and did my check out. My refund has been denied even though my family and I didn’t stay due to the very poor conditions of our room and the constant loud music playing from the next door club that it’s not on description of the property. It’s literally as if you are staying in the night club every night.

The room was pretty small but very close to all the major shopping areas. Everything was so close by. There are clubs close by and the music is pretty loud which to me it wasnt much of a problem since I knocked out quick. The only issue was the AC, the room was pretty hot and Ac didnt cool enough.

The property was decent inside. The tile floors were nice, also the rooms and bathrooms were acceptable. The pool area was nice with the bar. I was impressed when the staff got right on cleaning a leaking water heater in the hallway and the elevator.

I could hear the faint noise of the clubs at night down the street, but it wasn't loud enought for me to not fall asleep. I was on the side of the building closest to Mandala night club.

Just Okay – Probably Wouldn’t Stay Again

This was actually our second time trying this hotel. I was traveling with my teenage son, and while the building is in good shape and the room was spacious enough for both of us, there were definitely some drawbacks.

The basics were covered: a comfortable bed, decent shower (though the water pressure was just okay), toiletries, fridge, Wi-Fi, and TVs—but no cable. One big issue was the AC in our first room—it couldn’t keep the space cool. We had to ask for a room change, which took a bit of back and forth—not ideal mid-trip.

There’s a coffee maker in the room, but oddly no coffee provided. They also only give one room key, and no extras were available. If you run into problems, you’re told to go through your booking site (Expedia, etc.), which made things more complicated.

The location is convenient—just a couple blocks from 5th Avenue and steps from a 7/11. However, it’s very close to bars and clubs, so the noise at night can be an issue. There was also ongoing construction outside, adding to the disruption. My son and I are heavy sleepers, so it didn’t ruin our trip, but light sleepers should be warned.

The highlight was the rooftop pool—great view of the Caribbean, and the bar prices were reasonable. We spent most of our days exploring Playa del Carmen and had an amazing time at Xel-Há (highly recommend!).

Overall, the stay was just okay. Not terrible, not great. With so many options in Playa, we’ll probably try somewhere else

So this was a nice place to stay, and had a great patio and pool on the roof. It was centrally located which was both great and terrible. Great, until you go to bed and the nightclubs (next door) are still cranking out music at unbelievably loud levels. But on the second night, I just got some ocean white noise playing on my phone with a speaker (pretty loudly) and drowned out the nightclub and all was well.
On the bad side, we had a plumbing leak from what I guess was a leaky bathroom or water disaster above our apartment. There was ALOT of water dripping down (gallons!!!) that we had to empty a trash can a couple times. Then it went away for the second night.

Singular is one of my favorite brands in Playa Del Carmen and the only one I stay in including the beach property.
It is a nightlife club type street so there is music and fun every weekend until the early morning, rooms are always clean and the staff is amazing, pools and jacuzzi are beautiful and has an amazing view of the ocean.

Amazing location! Very convenient and close to the main strip, local beach clubs, and great food. The staff was friendly, helpful and we got new towels every day. The room was a bit small, but there was natural light, hot water, and plenty of storage space. There is some noise from the clubs, but the air conditioner usually covers the noise well. The rooftop pool area is also clean and has great food/drinks at a reasonable price. Definitely the biggest highlight is the location and I would stay again!

Hotel shows nice (artificial) pictures online. Our unit was worn down, a bit dirty, very minimal kitchen utensils, no outdoor seating on our balcony. Housekeeping would only change out towels.
The pool area was fantastic, with an unbeatable view. The hot tub was usually Luke warm. The bar was ok - expensive.
Good location, just off 5th avenue. Walking distance to the ferry, Walmart, and a plethora of restaurants!

El peor alojamiento del que tenga recuerdo.
Estuve 19 noches en 3 habitaciones distintas.
La primera 9 noches, la cual fue una pesadilla para un viaje con un bebe de 8 meses.

No funcionaba el aire acondicionado, salia olor a excremento, lo cual di el aviso a los conserjes del hotel y ellos me ayudaron para que el famoso administrador apareciera.
Me movió a una habitación que no estaba adapatada para ir con bebes, ya queda habian muchas escaleras de por medio.
Luego de es noche, nos cambiaron a la tercera y definitiva.
Tuvismos nuevamente problemas con el aire acondicionado, lo cual al otro dia llego un tecnico a solucionar el problema.
La comunicación con el administrador fue horrible, nunca tuvo la disposición de ayudar, si no hubiera sido por la gente que trabaja en el hotel, seguimos durmiendo con olor a excremento.
Solo rescato la gente que trabaja en conserjería, Alejandra y los chicos de la noche.

There were 3 different locations that came up as this location. Finally on the 3rd try, we found the correct location.

The room I was assigned, was on the main floor, with floor to ceiling windows that was attached a ground-level balcony, that faced the interior elevator/mezzanine.

The curtains were see through. And I could see into the lobby, and from the outside of the window, I could be seen inside the apt (living room, dining area, kitchen, and partial bathroom corridor.

When I went to reception to ask about a blackout curtain or room replacement, I was given the number of \"my host\" and told to contact him on whatsapp, and he never responded. After circling back, I was able to get the receptionist to come look at the window, and she then pretended to contact someone. The room was never changed, and in the evening when the lights had to be turned on, I pretty much locked myself in the bedroom, and only used the rest of the apt when lights weren't needed. Pretty much defeats the purpose of booking a 1-bedroom suit.

Otherwise, great view from the rooftop pool.

Love the location and apartment space. However, it is get very very noisy at 8pm-2pm because there are 3 bars near . You can hear the vibration and the music so if noise bothers you this is not the place to stay. The pool and jacuzzi was great. You can do laundry for $100 pesos for an hour an half.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights. On the first day, we noticed there is no running water in the shower. We reported it and we were told they will send someone the next day! Ok, we went to bed without taking a shower that night. The next day was Saturday, and we were told they probably won't be able to send anyone during the weekend. Insane! They just didn't care to even try to apologize or find another solution.
Thankfully, Expedia were super helpful, and transferred us right away with a single call to a better hotel, just a block away, and covered the difference in the price!

There are 3 night clubs less than one block away that play dance music until 2:00am making sleep virtually impossible. The mattress cover did not fit properly and come off on a nightly basis. We never once had house keeping clean our room. There were no face cloths or hand towels provided even after we asked for them. Microwave in kitchen did not work and no coffee was provided for the in room coffee maker.

The property itself was lovely. The rooftop has one relatively large pool and one smaller pool as well as a smaller heated pool (not quite a hot tub), overlooking the beach below. Very nice. The rooms and apartments were clean and neat. However, for most of our stay, we had no hot water and had to call someone to access our safe. Waiting around for the guy to arrive was a waste of our time. And we did eventually get some hot water, but only in one bathroom.

Overall the staff was friendly. Marco was very accomodating and did his best for us to be confortable. The rooftop with the swimming pool is great.
However future guests have to know it’s noisy : chairs in the rooms above and the music from the night clubs / bars in the same street, until late at night. Guests must know because of the proximity of the buildings the only view you can get from your room is the building or the other room next door. Although the website mentions « laundry » there are no laundry facilities for the guests. In the first room we had , the towels, the bedsheets and the sofa were stained. On the ceiling of the shower there were mould. The a/c was noisy.
In the second room we moved in, one of the windows was broken and fixed with some tape only. The a/c worked very well.
To access the building from outside there are no elevators. The only elevator from outside is for the wheelchairs.

It did not bother though. Also I would like to mention the fact that Singular Joy is very close to the ocean, it does not have any beach front area however.

Location is fantastic. Steps from the beach and 5th avenue. Be warned there are two clubs a block away and the music will be thumping until 2am or so. If you are early to bed and a light sleeper, you might want to pass on this place.

If you want to rent a car, parking is fairly easy to find on the street, but you'll have to pay 10 MXP per hour from 10am-10pm.

The room itself was beautiful, very modern and nice balcony. The rooftop pool was to die for.

Housekeeping was hit and miss, only had housekeeping one day out of 4 after I repeatedly asked, even though they said they would come daily.

Overall a nice stay, but there are a lot of options in Playa, so stay here if the price is right, but beware of the noise situation.

Great location, clean, modern. Unfortunately the warnings about the noise from the nearby clubs aren’t minor. I thought those were just old people complaining about being in a city, but it is truly so much louder than you would expect. The bartender said the people who live there can’t sleep either. It’s nearly a full block away from the clubs so there must be some kind of weird sound bouncing going on.

This property is advertised as a hotel. However, when I asked for a change of tv remote control, the front desk staff let me know that the rooms - if not all rooms are managed by their individual owners. I was told they will 'let know maintenance\" but never showed up. Terrible water pressure in the shower, during our stay there was no cleaning of the room. Nevertheless, the room was modern including a kitchenette, fridge, microwave etc., AC was good. Our room view was a wall. The best was the swimming pool and bar service (the hotel has no restaurant nor provide with coffee in the room). Staff is a hit and miss. Some were more friendly and helpful than other.

It was nice, the room was plenty large enough for one person, would have been nice to have a balcony, but I guess those are only in the larger rooms. The windows did open so that was nice.
The location is good, close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. It is 1 block from a corner where 3 bars party well into the morning hours. Fortunately my room (308) did not get much noise from the bars due to the whitenoise created by the A/C.
On that point, they had the room set to 18c when I got there so that was turned up to a more pleasant 22. There is a kitchen in the rooms, but they do not provide any dish towels in the kitchen.
The rooftop pool is very nice with plenty of room to lounge around in the sun.

We had and inconvenience at check in, we came into our room to only see it was already occupied with other guests luggage inside…
we rushed back down to lobby the guy told us for some reason they gave other guest keys to open our room. There was huge confusion.. elevators stopped working, WIFI stopped working on our 1st night had not tv for rest of our stay.. there is only street parking and you have to pay.. no hair dryer .. and pretty much the guy in lobby told us this property was basically was being hosted and out host wasn’t available when we asked to bring us shampoo

I had an issue with my room because a lady who owned the room I was staying in decided last minute she wanted her room and didn’t want to work with the hotel anymore the staff said that we could still come hangout at the pool any time which was so nice of them. The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, pool is beautiful. Location is great for walking around. Hotel staff are nice and helpful.

The con's are the clubs (3) on the corner below the hotel are VERY load. You can turn down your AC so the fan blows all night and wear ear plugs, all of which help and block the noise. You need to ask for the wifi code when you check in, also if you need a blowdryer ask when you check in. Towels are scares, no wash-clothes, one hand towel per bathroom, no towels in the kitchen. They do supply one beach towel per person.

Don't leave any food out, little ants will get in, just put every thing in the refrigerator.

Overall our stay was nice, we have a two bedroom with a kitchen and living room. Plenty of room and perfect for our family of 4.

Staff is rude and not help full at all.
My room air conditioning does not work properly

Noice of the nighy clubs nearby don't let you sleep.
Staff leave keys at the door of my room and didn't feel safe. Any body can enter.

No customer service skills of this guys.. unpleasant stay.

Gorgeous hotel, loud at night

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Brand new, stylish, comfortable, with a great location. The rooftop pool and bar were spectacular. The room clean and new, beds comfortable, and a nice kitchen. The only thing to know is the property is a block from a couple of night clubs that seem to compete on how loud they can be. The sound penetrates the walls, despite the best efforts of the excellent AC system. We would stay again, but please know it is loud at night.

Thanks for the stay, please consider adding a blow dryer and a fridge to the rooms my hair looked like a mess because the booking said it did had a blow dryer when I called reception they told me they didn’t have any, also the receptionist that works at night spends the night sleeping at the desk you have to knock to get in, nothing wrong with it but that’s a horrible presentation for your business

Very nice and very clean hotel, rooms were very well equipped, even have silverware, pool and hot tub were great with amazing view. Staff was nice and friendly. Good location, everything was in a walking distance, beach/food/ stores. Only downside was that there was three clubs down the street and at night you could hear the bass from the clubs. It wasn’t bad the first couple of days but after the first couple of days it did start getting annoying hearing the bass. Other than that it was great!

Hotel is great! Brand new. Very clean! All cleaning crew are very friendly and nice. Like the way that receptionist been professional and helpful. Rooftop is like a paradise with Pool, chairs, and hot tub. Could not ask for more. If you looking for just a boutique hotel this is great option cause you can try so many different restaurants all over Playa Del Carmen. Rooftop bar is super nice and never overcrowded. Just a minute away from the beach.

Always again! Great for solo travelers

The hotel or apartment residence is in a great location. Just one hotel in front of you before the beach and the biggest clubs are right in the next street also the famous shooing street and all restaurants. The rooftop pool is amazing, had to work remotely and chose it because of the rooftop. Amazing view and cheap & good cocktails. Staff is nice and the rooms great.. loved the suites, were like a little apartment. Overall great, I was alone and felt save and the staff was really caring and polite!
