Everything was great, very pleasant and helpful staff, nice pool, close to the beach, good breakfast. Only problem was there was no Wifi connection in my room (which also meant no TV). It turned out ok, I did my work in the breakfast room after breakfast each day, but it was an inconvenience.

This resort is 5 stars. The location to the beach, the rooms, the pool, the staff-- all extraordinary. We have a toddler and the beach had a great play area just walking distance (thank goodness). The pool has two small pools (think Jacuzzi size) which was so great for a 2 year old non swimmer.
There is an area for dining- they have breakfast in the morning buffet style, but then you can grab something outside and bring it back to dine in, not having to be in your room. Also a great hang out spot for late night- people were playing cards and games.
Staff is very pleasant. Room service keeps the room clean every morning. Thank you for that. We had an amazing time.

The bird dropping hotel

One lady behind the counter is very helpful.
This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen. Months or years worth of bird droppings built up on the stairs. Bird droppings everywhere. It’s extremely unhygienic. In 40 years of travel I have never seen anything like it. The owner should be ashamed.

Friendly helpful reception staff.The room a good size with balcony, furniture and fittings dated and in average condition, there was no safe.The bed had a stale smell which wasn't pleasant the daily cleaning a reasonable standard.Great location for the beach and the shops and restaurants a 15 minutes walk away.

Local area not very special with lots of “massage parlours”!,
Two beaches, one with sun-beds and very sharp sand, the other has nice sand and no sun-beds ( except private )
Could not recommend this hotel, would not return!
During our stay we did a snorkelling trip from Mr Tu pier….super.

we spend 5 nights at this place.
location was ok but the beach is very but very wind. also the beach was pretty angry. we could not use the beach.

breakfast ok. sometimes your eggs was cook by the chef. sometimes by the porter and sometimes by the housekeeping. english not so good but ok.

we got a little issue when we got at hotel. room was conplete different of what we book. but for the first time in thailand. they act fast and give us a much better room. so for that they have a star.

pool pretty good.
and just around 10m to few restaurants.

i can say i would stay here again

Not the greatest. Seemed like it had its day about 10 years ago...or more. Needs updating/care. Breakfast pretty good, room clean, but beds super hard, even for Thailand standards. Would be a good spot on the end of the beach in the right season but we hit the end of their stormy season and couldn’t use the beach much- sea was too rough. (You don’t see that in the pictures! Not that this is the fault of the hotel, of course, but good to keep in mind if you are looking for a beach vacation!) Good price but I think you can find better for a comparable price.

an old hotel without lift, whereby we have to carry our own luggage to 4th floor, the staff seems can't understand english well, when i try to ask abt the beach location, the staff just say\" I NO SPEAK ENGLISH \" & walk away. The room was not clean, when i step in my room, the floor still have sand , the towel also have funny smell,overall i was dissapointed !!!

Everything you need for good $$

We checked in late at night (11.30pm), staff were really friendly. We were allocated rooms in the building off to the side (not the main area surrounding the pool). We were on 4th floor, one of our rooms looked out to the ocean, the other looked into another building. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep and shower this building is fine.
Included breakfast was average but considering how cheap our stay was, not complaining!
Awesome pool and beach literally 50 steps away.

Bed bugs! Stay elsewhere!

Plan to stay at one of the many other resorts on Koh Samui. We booked a room for 3 people , and they jammed an extra bed into an already small room, leaving no space to move around. The facilities are outdated and we ended up with bed bugs (presumably due to the extra bed they crammed into the room). They offered no refund even though we had to leave for another hotel to avoid getting eaten alive in our sleep. There are so many better options on the island than this! Don't make the same mistake we did.

Quiet location close to everything you want & need

A middle range, well-worn hotel with good-sized rooms, big comfy beds & adequate aircon & bathrooms. There's a small pool with loungers and while some rooms have good balconies other dont't; there are patios at the end of landings with recliners etc where you can toast yourself nicely.
The place is quite airy & refreshingly cool when you need it; staff are typical Thai, all smiles and keen to please.
Beach very near at the quiet end of Chaweng but 200metres along you have beautiful (stone-free) beach and a warm inviting sea.

Perfect location

The hotel is nestled between 2 beautiful beaches and has a lovely pool too. Stayed in basic room but apart from the bath needing a good descaling, the room was large and towels, bedding, bottled water and toiletries were all refreshed daily. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.
Lots of nearby bars and restaurants and a nice stroll to the busier end of the street with shopping centre, food markets etc. Ice bar was a let down though.

Generally hotel is Ok for not very long stay. It is old and require full renovation, but staff tries to keep it clean and good looking. It is locate on the beach, about 2 km to the centre with all the entertiment - about 25 min walk, so it is located out of the noise. The breakfast is good with big choice of food.

Paid $100 AUD for the junior room excitive the picture is not what it is, the shower curtains fell down as I was having a shower, the room was not at all the same advertised on wor if. Hot humid and the aircon was not adjustable.

I stayed about 10 days and was grateful to be so close to the beach but at the quieter end of town. That said, everything you might want is in easy walking distance, ie: shops restaurants bars foreign exchange and travel shops etc etc.
Staff are helpful and friendly with the hotel in generally good condition although TV is in need of an upgrade.
My visit was out of season; the hotel,town and beach get bust, very busy in December/January but June July was perfect for me.

I only booked the standard room. You get what you pay for. Can't complain, I used this for a stop over. Good hot water, quiet but reception wanted 700Baht to transfer back to airport. 30 seconds around the corner I got a taxi for 300Baht.

Beautiful but crowded beach

The beach is fantastic, but too many people during the day. As evening approaches, almost everyone leaves and you have the beach pretty much to yourself. The hotel is getting older and as such shows some signs of wear, but nothing serious enough to distract from the experience. The pool is lovely and extra clean. Breakfast is included and the buffet is excellent. This property is part of an all inclusive resort complex, so almost everything you could want is there on the property, including a dive shop, convenience store and a good honest motorbike rental. Great, safe place for families, far enough from Chaweng to be away from the bustle, but close enough to have easy access. I walked into town in about 15 minutes.

Nice hotel, good for what you pay for.

We didn't have any problems at this hotel. It was just a standard hotel, somewhere to sleep and shower. The location is a bit out of the way about a 15-20 minute walk into the main Centre where all the bars/shops/restaurants are. Didn't really see much of the staff but they were friendly enough. Breakfast was alrite, not much to choose from. The pool area was ok, not many sunbeds but didn't bother us as we went to the beach everyday. Beds are really hard but overall it was clean and tidy. We did have a tiny lizard in our room but it was no big deal. I would probably stay somewhere a bit closer to the main street in future. The hotel did the job for our budget and what was expected of it.

Upon getting to samui first house I was put up in a room which was extremely bad with no wifi. Upon complaining I was upgraded to another room. This room was pretty awesome. Room size to bathroom to balcony. The mattress was a bit hard but was comfy enough. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location was a about 7mins bike ride to chaweng town so not too noisy. Beach was nice and clean. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. Thanks samui first house.

Average compared to pictures!

The First House is well located, very close to the quieter end of the beach and a short distance from the shops. There is a brilliant pool with jacuzzi section and sun beds and towels.
However, I would advise requesting a room that overlooks the pool or beach or else you end up with a very dark bathroom and a view of someone else's balcony/wall!
There was no safety deposit box in the room but you could opt to leave things with reception.
Wifi was good. TV was dated and signal was not good - we had one channel for the duration of our stay.

A reasonably nice hotel

Great location, had its own beach a 30 second walk from the hotel and so close to the centre (10 minute taxi journey). Room was lovely but air con was very loud so wasn't able to have it on at night. Breakfast doesn't come with the room and is quite pricey for what you get so ventured into town for food. Staff were lovely at the front desk but cleaners in the morning were very loud, talking amongst one another. around 6:30 and woke us up. Not good at all. But that could have been a one off chance. Overall lovely hotel and amazing location!!

Rude customer service - but nice place

We found customer service to be rude and also the cleaners woke us up to clean the room on numverous occasions. The hot water was not working most our time and the repair came up numerous times to fix it. The WIFI is good but has no share computer to use. The location was good, in a quite part of chewang beach. The pool was clean and small. The have a safe to keep your passports, etc..

Travelling on a family holliday.. 2ad,2 ch, we didn't want to blow the budget on accommodation, but we did want clean, comfortable and convenient location. We chose the \"standard\" rooms at the Samui First house which didn't have a view, but the rooms were large, clean and very comfortable, and for the amount of time we spent in the room, the view wasn't a major factor. The location was fine. If you don't mind a little walk, about 20 mins along the beach to the central Chaweng area. The buffet breakfast was fabulous and gave us a great start to our day.

Not as good as previous stays

We've stayed in the First House 2 times previously, and I was considerably less impressed this visit than previously. Nothing \"much\" has changed, so the deterioration is quite subtle but (to us) noticeable. Breakfast was not as extensive as during our previous visits, decor was fading, some of the bedroom units damaged, and the pool was green when we arrived. Hey, anybody can make a mistake with the chlorination, but it took a couple of days for the soup to clear and for the pool to be attractive again. All things considered however: for the price, it's hard to beat SFH. The hotel is at the southern end of Chaweng Beach, which is great if you want to avoid the evening noise (albeit a little walk into the main areas). There are ameneties nearby, so you don't have to travel far for laundry, travel agents, tailors, masseurs, restaurants, bars (try the Bamboo Bar), shops. Recommend if you're on a budget, but if you can afford more, there are probably better places you could stay in Chaweng / Samui.

Away from all the noise

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and thought I'd try it again. I stayed in one of the superior rooms in building number 3 and found it acceptable for the price. My only issue was the bed, you could feel the springs a bit and they need to replace them. The pool is nice and clean, 2 minutes walk to Chaweng Noi beach, is a nice beach with some snorkeling.

Overall a good hotel

I stayed 5 nights in a Superior room in building 3. My only con was the bed was worn out and could feel some springs in certain areas. But slept fine. A/c good, bathtub but hot water flow is slow, Wifi good most the time, pool was clean and not over chlorinated, easy access to Chaweng Noi beach and snorkeling, lounge chairs, beach towels provided in the room. I never ate there. Staff friendly.

I stayed two nights. Only paid $27 per night. Slow season. Rooms were aircon, private, well kept. Dont take anything from room they charge for it. Small tv, no wifi in rooms. But location was great. Price was, tuk tuks, overcharge. Be prepared.

all parts of island can be visited from this location. scooters for hire outside hotel - very cheap - beware on island you will be insuring yourself but as long as you are carefull and keep your speed down it will be ok. taxi required to get to nightlife. nice beach. breakfast offers many choices and always pleasant.

MAY NOT SUIT EVERYBODY

This hotel is situated at the lower end of Chaweng. It is worth pointing out that the accomodation is split between the main hotel building ( U shaped around a somewhat small pool) and approx three satellite buildings opposite the reception area. Now, if you end up in one of these, you may well find you either overlook a building site (as I did), or you look across a narrow cavity (approx 10 foot max) directly to the room opposite. All of these rooms have frosted windows so there is no view in or out without opening the patio door. I was not too stressed by this as I do not spend the day around the hotel but it might not suite some people. I found the staff to be polite and helpful and the buffet breakfast was one of the better ones I have come across. If my room was anything to go by then the hotel could do with a lick of paint

Stay for the lovely quiet beach (nothing else)

Stayed here with two friends in December 2012. Positives are that the beach here is incredible, by far the quietest, cleanest, prettiest and most tourist-free part of Chaweng. You only have to walk over a pretty little bridge and you're there. Even after we moved to a different hotel we decided to walk back to this beach as it was so good.

The major downside to this hotel was the staff. In my experience they were rude and unhelpful, particularly the man who seems to be the manager. When we checked in we were told our booking didn't include breakfast, even though I knew I had paid more for the buffet breakfast. When I showed him the booking confirmation on my phone that clearly said \"breakfast included\", he simply shook his head and showed me a handwritten note on our booking that said (in Thai!) breakfast not included. It was not until I kicked up a stink that he grudgingly gave me the breakfast coupons, as well as saying that we should be thankful as we had been upgraded to a deluxe room (which we hadn't asked for!). It was a pretty unpleasant experience after we'd been travelling all day.

I'd recommend this hotel if you want a quiet stay in Chaweng away from the main area, but as three young girls we decided to relocate a bit further up the beach to be closer to town, and were still able to walk to the lovely Chaweng Noi beach during the day.

Too far from Chaweng Centre

It is too far from Chaweng Centre. Hence transportation are required which mean incurred more expenses. For breakfast, I have to walk pretty far in search of a food outlet. Ordinary buffet breakfast at the hotel is 300B per person which is expensive! The air-conditioner is not cool. In the afternoon I actually sweat while inside the room. The bathroom is too small for my comfort. However, the food at the restaurant are pretty tasty.

Very bad behavior!!

I booked 2 rooms and requested for 1 king sized bed but instead they gave us 2 separated (both in different building) and single bed room. I started to nego with the receptionist but her english is just too poor for conversation. She then summoned her manager who turns up speaking even foul english than the previous girl. She yells at me in the end and to avoid an unhappy journey of ours my wife decided just to let it be. What could happen if I'm bringing children and they are to stay so far away from me?

Big room and friendly reception

Booked the place with 2 rooms + 1 living room. Very big, can sleep up to 6 people. The only downside is the water for both of the bathrooms are too small and also weird smell all over the rooms. It's just next to Baiyoke Sky, which makes it a very easy way for everything.

Good hotel in decent location

The hotel and it's facilities were more than enough, in particular the traditional thai massage services available. In 12 years of visiting thailand this was the best i've found so far, located to the left hand side of the swimming pool it's a little hard to locate at first. but it's a must do for anyone visiting. The hotel is also right next to be beach, and although a little out of Chaweng's main street it's the best location for a little peace and quite. The tourist info office on site was also a positive, with the bonus of being able to hire mopeds at a reasonable price.

Overall a pleasant experience. The only bad thing was we were on the 4th floor and the air conditioning didn't do much. We asked for another room and got moved to another one on the 4th floor which made no difference. Our friends who both had rooms on the 3rd floor had air con that worked perfectly.

The only other hassle was that there were no safes in the room so you can to leave valuables in a lock up behind reception desk.

The buffet breakfast was fantastic....we would eat enough to skip lunch and just have a meal at night. The swimming pool was also great but had a limited number of deck chairs so had to get there early.

HERE IS A TIP: tuk tuk drivers would often not understand us when we asked to go to 'First House' but all of them knew 'First Bungalow' which is right next door so we would just ask to go there as its always the same price.

Enjoyed our stay here but felt this hotel needed better maintenance and better cleaners but I was impressed that all our linen & towels were changed every day. Hotel staff pleasant and friendly but the manager needs to learn how to smile. Pool a bit small but the beach more than makes up for it. Super price via the hotel for hiring mopeds but didn't like the practice of keeping your passport until you returned the machine.

hotel was situated on the south end of Chaweng beach. although this was outside the main \"party\" scence, the atmosphere was much more relaxing with some amazing places to eat and get massages etc a short walk from the hotel if you did not wish to catch the taxi (around 100 Baht) into chaweng.

First House Hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand

I got two double rooms in the hotel which were very basic but clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was solid and the pool was clean and inviting. The hotel staff was really helpful in setting up taxi pick-ups. Additionally, they were exceptionally accommodating. As an example, we had to take a ferry to Koh Thao early in the morning before the breakfast buffet was open. The staff, however, had no qualms with allowing us to eat half an hour early. Their dedication and promptness was also proven when the air conditioner in our room started dripping quite a bit of water. Within 5 minutes of reporting this to the lobby, the hotel engineers were in our room fixing the problem. They, too, were very professional and efficient, and successfully addressed the issue within a matter of minutes.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel if you're on a bit of a budget and want a solid and convenient place to stay. However, the rooms were not particularly luxurious though they were clean and comfortable.

Such a bargain!

I couldn't believe how fantastic First House was for how little we paid. The hotel is just outside of the main Chaweng Beach stretch, but that made for a quiet (and incidentally gorgeous) beach with multiple restaurants/stores still within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again!

A little far from the Chaweng party scene, but on a beautiful stretch of beach.

The First House was a great hotel, comfy, right on a lovely beach, with friendly staff to boot!
It's a 10-15minute walk to the restaurants/bars of Chaweng though, but the walk is entirely safe, especially if you do it on the beach.

Hotel and staff very good. Excellent buffet breakfast, hotel about 20 minute walk to town centre. Good for single, married and couples. Nice swimming pool and close to beach.I would stay here again.

We had a superior room, and if that was superior I would not want to see a regular room. It was very small, not very clean and quite dark. The location of the hotel is probably one of the worst in Samui, the beach is far from the hotel and not very good.

Quiet, at the end of the main beach

The hotel is at the beautifull and quiet, end of the main (Chaweng) beach. If you like quiet place with some shadow made by palm trees, you will like this place.
Taxi to Chaweng City is 30-50 THB per person (do not pay more, many drivers will try to charge more).

The rooms have no window, but they have a balcony. The bathroom is located between the room and the balcony (two slide doors), this is a little bit strange, but at the end not a big problem.

Hotel is locared at Chaweng Noi beach, and to get to Chaweng beach its a 15 minutes walk.

Rooms very basic but hotel staff were very friendly. A nice pool to spend an afternoon by. Breakfast basic but nice.

Bon séjour, belle piscine, tout n'est pas parfait mais quand on demande on optient.... Tres belle plage au bout du chemin. Bon petit dejeuner mais dommage de ne pas avoir + de fruits au buffet.

Notre hotesse d'accueil était tres agréable, souriante, disponible et réactive.

Besvikelse på Samui First House Hotel, Koh Samui

Jag och min partner bodde på Samui First House Hotel i Koh Samui från 27 juli till 15 augusti 2024. Tyvärr motsvarade vår vistelse inte våra förväntningar. Vi har bott på hotellet tidigare och varit nöjda, men den här gången var upplevelsen mycket sämre.

Huvudsakliga problem:

1. Dålig städning: Städningen av rummet var undermålig. Badrummet, inklusive handfatet, har inte rengjorts på över två veckor. Dessutom saknades toalettartiklar efter den första dagen, vilket tvingade oss att köpa egna. Detta är inte acceptabelt för ett hotell i denna prisklass.

2. Trasiga handdukar och sängkläder: Handdukarna var slitna och trasiga, vilket gjorde oss obekväma med att använda dem. Vi var även rädda att de skulle gå sönder mer, vilket kunde leda till att vi skulle bli ersättningsskyldiga. Sängkläderna var i liknande dåligt skick, med hål och slitage.

3. Vår bokning inkluderade frukostbuffé och en gratis välkomstdrink.

Även om personalen var mycket trevlig och försökte hjälpa till, kvarstod problemen och påverkade vår upplevelse negativt. Vi har delat vår feedback med hotellets personal, men tyvärr har ingen förbättring skett under vår vistelse.

Vi hoppas att hotellet tar våra synpunkter på allvar och vidtar åtgärder för att förbättra kvaliteten för framtida gäster. I nuläget kan vi inte rekommendera Samui First House Hotel till andra resenärer.

L'hôtel a connu de meilleurs jours.
Les chambres sont défraîchies, surtout elles sont tout juste propres : sol propre mais le lavabo n'a jamais été nettoyé en une semaine.
Pas de cocktail de bienvenue comme annoncé. Pas de restauration en dehors du petit déjeuner.
Les chambres étaient faites tard ou pas faites.
Service a minima.
La cerise sur le gâteau : toutes les nuits, le bâtiment est fermé avec des chaînes et des cadenas et il est impossible d'en sortir.

La première chambre qu’ils m’ont donné avait une mauvaise odeur de moisissure, et la seconde chambre là climatisé faisait défaut je ne pouvais pas la faire fonctionner toute la nuit beaucoup trop bruyante.

大きなホテルで清潔なプールが併設されています。朝食はプール脇でのバイキング形式で開放的で清潔です。
夕食は近くのタイ料理店がおいしくて安い。家族経営。チャーハンがおいしく4度注文しました。400円。スイカのジュースもおいしい。200円。
ホテルは道路から離れていて静かです。部屋にバスタブがあり、喜びましたが、栓が無くお湯をためることができない。スタッフに言えば解決しそうです。このホテルは4回利用させて頂き快適です。空港から300バーツでタクシーが利用できます。150バーツの乗り合いタクシーも利用できます。
ビーチも１０分ほどで行けて。木陰で休むこともできます。
ゆっくり滞在できるホテルだと思います。部屋はランクを上げたほうが広くて豪華です。

buona la posizione sul mare, struttura vecchia e non ristrutturata, camera senza balcone e con bagno cieco, pulizia appena accettabile anche se la polvere sui mobili è vecchia di mesi; colazione poco internazionale senza dolciumi e invariata ogni giorno. i lettini sulla spiaggia sono sporchi e gli ombrelloni arrugginiti ed ingialliti
