I did not have very good luck picking out Hotels on the island until we got to the Chaweng Noi. We cannot afford the $100 or more per night options but this hotel was great for our 11 night stay. There was a problem getting our room on check in but the staff put us into a suitable room until the next morning when we were moved into our correct room. The entire staff was very friendly and so helpful our entire stay. Breakfast was very good with enough choices to keep us satisfied. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. Everything was to our liking during our stay. My only complaint was the bed. It was, like so many beds in Thai hotel rooms, too hard for me. Toppers would be perfect. Koh Samui is not my favorite place in Thailand and I wish we had not booked 3 weeks on the island. That being said at least the Chaweng Noi was really a bright spot and really helped the trip be a lot less disastrous. Although I cannot recommend a stay on the Island but if you’re there or going there I can highly recommend the Chaweng Noi for a great Hotel experience at an affordable price.

We just came home after a 3 week stay in a deluxe room and would definitely book this hotel again! We were a little “worried” before arriving as some of the later reviews are very negative, but any concerns we might have had were whisked away instantly!

This is a beautiful little hotel and our room was spotless and of great size, no smells or bugs in sight! Every single member of staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help you, the second we arrived we were greeted and assisted with our luggage to our room on the 4th floor (1402). The cleaning lady on our floor did such a great job and was so very friendly every time we met her, as were all staff!

The free shuttle bus to the sister hotel was a very welcome bonus with free beach chairs, some days we chose to walk down to the bottom of the beach and rent chairs from the Thai family as we loved that part of the beach.

We didn’t have breakfast included with our stay so ate at to be sweet right next to the hotel some mornings, but did try the hotel breakfast buffet (300 baht for adults, 250 for kids) and found this much better than recent reviews, with a great selection of hot and cold food, fresh egg station, fruit and juice.

Several dining options within 5 mins walk, but note there is no sidewalk so you have to walk along the road.
The hotel is obviously not brand new any more, but we found this just part of its charm.
Overall a very lovely stay and very good value!!

ROACH MOTEL, not 4-star hotel

ROACHES AND ANTS IN THE ROOM. The roaches were HUGE…the size of my finger. How is this a “4-star hotel”? It is a 2-star MOTEL. We checked in and were checked out 2 hours later as we couldn’t stay in such an unbearable place. The AC wasn’t working so the entire room was very stuffy and warm, the toilet didn’t flush and the shower didn’t drain. The hotel refused to give us a refund for the two nights we booked despite us not even staying there for 4 hours. We checked into another hotel that same night and thankfully this hotel was a true 5-star hotel. Will not recommend this place. You’ve been warned.

You have a hotel-provided free transportation system that takes you conveniently to the center and some beautiful beaches on the island. The staff was very attentive and very nice. The pool area was very relaxing. Great stay overall.

The location is good but not for pedestrian traffic at all, need rental or taxi to get anywhere. Chaweng Beach is beautiful. The matress was pretty hard though, Only complaint.

5 night stay in a 1 bed pool villa

Lovely place to stay for an excellent price. We stayed in a pool villa that was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was good with fresh eggs made to order and there are plenty of excelle t restaurants to eat at close by if you dont want to eat at their restaurant.which was also very good. The only down side to the pool villa was that for privacy they have bushes surrounding the pool and outside area. Fine in the day as it doesnt impact the sun, but at night you get alot of insects. The beach is also a 3 minute walk away and was stunning with an excellent bar and restaurant. Overall this was a fanatstic hotel and location for us and would recommend people stay here if you want to be slightly away from chaweng.

When I booked this I did not realize it was on the main road around the island. I should have done more homework on google maps. It was noisy from the traffic, the hotel was doing construction next door and the beach they shuttle you to across the street was dirty with garbage and plastic brought in by the waves. It was the end of the rainy season so that was a factor. You definitely need a motorcycle or car to get anywhere. THe pool at the hotel is nice but breakfast if not in your plan is expensive. The rooms were a good size and had free coffee and tea and kettle and frig in it, but I would not stay here again.

The picture does NOT represent the real property.
It was old, rundown and in repair. Much of the resort was closed.
It was not close to any shops or amenities and was situated on a terribly busy road, with no footpaths and no way to cross the road to investigate the beach, in the distance.
Clearly this is a property under renovation, partially closed and should not be rented to the public.
Food was cold, unappealing and very limited. Breakfast was appalling. It was very difficult to communicate with the staff. The seemed uninterested and only spoke broken English.
The bath/shower was most dangerous with the sides of the bath being too tall, which made entry and exit impossible.
The linen was threadbare and very old. No table or chair in the room.
All in all the property was NOT AT ALL as we had seen on advertising!

Location was away from everything, but the shuttle provided to town was very useful. We ended up arriving a day late for our 3 day booking. We didn’t have a contact email for the property and didn’t call in case they cancelled our whole booking (due to loss in translation). The woman who checked us in asked why we were late, which put me off. The villas would have been brilliant when new. We saw 2 (as travelling with another family. Both were tired, sun beds rotting and the cushions were cracked and badly stained. I didn’t like that the living area had no curtains / blinds. It meant anyone passing the gate or coming to the door could see you in the bedroom if the door was open, which it was as travelling with young children. The bathrooms needed updating, as do the soft furnishings and decoration. Our en-suite shower was stained at the bottom of the wall and the tiles were covered with a mildew / mould In one area.
On the positive side, They had very kindly left us a little honeymoon cake in our fridge when we arrived. Very kind and a lovely gift. The staff on reception were great and very helpful - calling a take-away for us one night and requesting we could speak to an English speaking staff member to place a food order. Needs seem love to bring up to standard again.

Deluxe Suite Pool Villa

The room is clean with your own small pool. It’s a huge unit with microwave and fridge in house. There’s some missing tiles in the pool-some of the areas are sharp and my child had a small cut at the ankle. All the staffs are very courteous and friendly. Nothing much around the area but the restaurant is self sufficient. Food and drinks are reasonably charged and the food is tasty. The only setback was the breakfast - limited selection.

Like: master room (& bathroom) and living area are spacious; the pantry with microwave oven is helpful for families; swimming pool is not exceptional big but still in a right size; location is not bad - THB3-400 to almost everywhere.

Didn't like: the TV could have been bigger (given the living area is so big...); Food choices of breakfast is rather limited and quality is just so-so; 2 out of 3 air-conditioners had water leakages and I made many of our stuffs on table wet including our iPad.
But the most critical critics I have would be its staffing/services - the staff were not particularly proactive / cannot show much hospitality. E.g. when we informed the front desk about the water leakage, they sounded didn't really want to bother and didn't apologize whatsoever - which is a little bit of surprise to us, as if we were the one who give them troubles! And some of the housekeeping staff were not very friendly too and never greet when they run into hotel guests. Quite unusual as compared to our impression to Thailand... Hotel shuttle (paid) to Fishermen Village, refuses to drop us off at the center of villa but instead, just drop us outside the entrance, whereas other taxi (same price/cheaper) we hired would have dropped us inside. I tried to ask, but the driver just said No. Well, it's fine, just another 10 minutes walk.

To conclude, it is what it is. It is not an expensive 5-stars resort, so I'd say it meets my expectations, but no further.

Staff is super friendly, helpful with getting around, provide free shuttle service to Fisherman Village and Central Festival. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach across the street, or again free shuttle service to their private beach. The location is near restaurants which are a short walking distance. The bed in my room was super hard but other than that I recommend and would definitely stay again.

Reasonable hotel but not in a good location for access to the beach ir the town. The hotel didnt pass on any information about the approaching storm that kept us trapped on the island for 3 days as the first time we found out was when all flights and ferries were cancelled. Staff were quite unhelpful when we had to checkout and had to find another hotel on the island. Expensive for what it was.

The bed was really hard but when I asked them to put some padding on they did and it was much better. The villas are not private at all. Everyone can see you in your private pool which was disappointing. A fence around each villa would be better. They start packing up breakfast right on 10am whether people are still eating or not. The shower is inside the bath and the pressure isn’t great. Otherwise they were friendly and it was a pleasant stay.

Fantastic hotel, out the way but close enough!

Not one negative about this hotel! Far enough away from Chaweng that it's quiet, but close enough to be able to walk it. 2 free shuttle buses in the evening from the hotel straight to the centre (book at reception during the day) Pool is lovely, staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Was a fantastic 4 nights.

Pool villa was overrated lots of mosquito and ants. Bed was like rock and ac unit although cold and wet(fogs entire room) was possessed keeping me awake every night making horrible noises. Had to rent scooter as location was not safe to walk anywhere. Breakfast was average and for the price the place was definitely not worth it.

Just Amazing!

Amazing hotel! Rooms smelt of a spa after every clean, and it was so clean! Bit of a hike to the hotel but well worth it! Staff are super friendly, a storm was coming in and our boat out cancelled the hotel gave us a lift to the pier to sort out another boat and rang the following day for us to check our boat had not been cancelled. Breakfast is amazing, pool is great! Would definitely recommend, it’s about a 5-8 min walk into the centre the incline is no to bad but at night it’s not well lit so recommend hiring a moped for the stay it’s a definite must to get around. And only 150bht for 24hrs from the hostel on your way down from the hotel on the right.

Family pool view room with connecting doors

I had a one night stay in the family pool view room with 3 other friends. The service from the villa were great. The rooms were clean with wifi and they had a deep soaking bathtub. They have consistent hot water and strong aircon.

Just the location which is slightly off the centre. Found that there isn't really much nearby. We had to go a pretty Long way out for food. However the villa do provide free shuttle.

Chaweng noi beach is 5 min away, though you have to cross the main ring road. We had a great stay, and the staff are disturbingly very polite and helpful. They help facilitate rental for the scooter and quite are accommodating.

Good location to chaweng beach-if your on a budget

Good location, rooms could do with updating e.g. New paint, new curtains, area behind the tv needed further cleaning, & staff should clean the floor regularly (dust). Although staff were very friendly and polite and the pool is nice. Close to chaweng town centre by taxi (300baht) and a two minute walk to the beach.

Smooth check in. Room nice, pool nice, and pool bar also nice. One small problem - the hotel is not situated on the beachfront, but about 100 meters away. This has to account...also, to reach restaurants you need to walk for 400 meters...otherwise everything was good.

I stayed here for 3 nights last week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, updated, and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had no problem with Wifi. The location is not the most ideal and the hotel is not beach front. But it offers daily shuttle to the sister hotel that has beach front area for laying out. There's also one way shuttle at night to the Central Festival area. I would stay here again if I ever return to Samui!

Good Hotel for the Price

We enjoyed our stay at the Chaweng Pool Villas. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were excellent. The only downside was the location was right next to a busy main road, so quite dangerous to walk along if you don't have transport. And the beds were super hard, not great for old bones. Other than that, we were pleased.

The conditions are basic & clean. Towel rail was hanging off in bathroom but usable. The \"Safe\" batteries were hanging out that I secured it but night before last day actually ran out that I couldn't open. Do not get a transfer with them as they randomly offer it for free or you can get cheaper at about 250-300thb each way (I paid 950thb rtn!)

Amazing food at this hotel

We were initially disappointed by our villa, as the decor is a bit tired and the bathroom not as luxurious as we're used to. The place could do with a lick of paint. But in the end we had a great stay, thanks to the wonderful staff.
The restaurant/bar in particular is amazing. They offer a pretty standard buffet breakfast, which gives no clue to the chef's talent. (Tip: Try the breakfast omelettes).
We actually gave up eating in town, as we discovered the chef could create anything we wanted at a better price than restaurants in Chaweng. The food was incredible. We only ate Thai food and it was as good as or better than anything we've eaten anywhere else in Thailand. I should point out that we're quite particular about what we eat.
The hotel is out of town, which isn't a problem. You only have to wait 5-10 minutes max for a tuk-tuk into Chaweng. You do have to cross a busy road to get to the beach, and this could be an issue for families with kids. The hotel, though, will drive you to the beach on request (it's a 5 min walk).
Overall we had a great time.

Lack of customer service

I made a reservation for two (2) nights, January 5th to January 7th. On January 5th, there was major flooding on the island that closed the airport, and flooded the majority of the roads on the island. There was absolutely no way to reach the hotel because of the flooding. Hotel refused to issue a refund because of weather conditions. When I checked in on January 6th, the were not interested in hearing anything I had to say......they said it was my responsibility to reach the hotel!

I hired a transport van from the hotel on the morning of January 7th to the airport. When the driver dropped us of at the airport, he unloaded the luggage and didn't even acknowledge us, just got in the van and left, very rude!

We had a great week in Samui thanks to Chaweng Noi Pool Villa. The hotel itself is lovely and reasonably priced but the staff make it excellent and were an absolute pleasure to deal with on everything!
Upgrade to a pool villa if you can...you won't regret it ❤

Lovely hotel with great friendly staf

The best hotel I've stayed in Thailand without spending silly money. The staff were really friendly, the rooms are clean tidy and comfortable. We stayed one night in a standard room which was at a great standard and then we upgraded to a villa with a private pool, room was huge and in great condition. There's a free ride into Chaweng in the evening, get a taxi back (100-150baht maximum). Would definitely stay here again

The accommodation was excellent and the staff were awesome. We had read negative reviews of them but we found them to be very helpful and accommodating.
The only downside is the location but at times that is also a positive - the beach across the road is excellent but the road can be challengning to cross.
The resort runs a shuttle to a sister resort further north towards Chaweng and we chose to use tht beach more than the one across the road.

Amazing stay at the chewang noi pool villa

Stayed here for 6 nights with my fiancé and could not fault it.. after reading the bad reviews I was slightly nervous on what to expect, but I was so wrong..yes bed is hard but myself and my partner have never slept so well! Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.. room was very spacious and kept so clean.. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.. can't wait to come back..

Not as good as the pictures or description suggest

We spent 9 nights here over Easter 2016. We had a pleasant stay with wonderful weather. This was our third visit to Koh Samui. We specifically picked this accommodation because it looked very modern in design, all the pictures showing us a very high quality hotel.
The reality is that the hotel is more tired than the images suggest and the bedrooms certainly need refreshing. The pics don't show you the unsightly recycling yard behind the hotel that you will see every time you come in and out of your room.
The hotel is across the (busy) road from a great beach and also has a very nice pool area but little in the way of any gardens.
Beds were hard and uncomfortable.
Breakfast was good and all the staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful.
All in all not a bad hotel, just not as good as what I thought we had booked.

Good but not Great

Nice Hotel especially if you get a pool villa, unfortunately for us the bed was very hard. Keep in mind the location is still a little way out from the central district, you either could book with a 11am bus limited seating so you need to book or a taxi for around $200 - 300 bhart.
American Breakfast was great and the chicken satay stick was to die for. Overall a nice place to stay to relax and recharge.

Lovely stay

Gorgeous comfortable room , everything lovely and nice big balcony looking over the pool. Breakfast nice except a lot of flies around. Rented a scooter which we would highly recommend. Did this through the hotel and we had no problems. Good location of you are happy to scooter around and the free shuttle bus is also great. Staff very nice.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Was in a terrible location (middle of nowhere, mosquito infested marsh land with a view over what looked like a small shanty town). Bedroom was two single beds pushed together, the room stank. Restaurant didn't seem to have any of the food we initially wanted then when we changed our orders to suit the restaurants needs the \"chef\" was incapable of making an adequate macaroni and cheese dish. (I received penne pasta with cheese on the top). The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful he wouldn't refund us and ignored calls from the hotels.com team so after chasing around after him we ended up just leaving the hotel and booking another room at KC resort at our own expense. The new resort was great and clarified that I was not deluded in what a 4* hotel should offer. This place is an absolute waste of your time and money!

Nice Quite Place but little far from Chaweng Beach

The hotel is good value, the only thing I would like to suggest to improve is that as it is a little far from the main beach Chaweng, it would be good if they offered rtn transportation say every 1 hr between 10am and 1am so that guests could enjoy the beach and nightlife, even if it was run for up to 10 guests at a time for a small charge of say 50 THB each.
