Booked two rooms with a jacuzzi. We were unable to use the jacuzzi because it was so bad. The plug hole was rusty . One of the jets was broken and the head rest was dirty. The sunloungers around the pool were stained. The railings around the property all needs replacing.
The staff were absolutly amazing and our room was clean. We were booked in for 6 days buy left on our 3rd day.

Lovely quiet resort, that gave you a workout the paths are quite steep, but always a man in a golfcart eager to give you a ride to the top. If you want a ride into town you have to book for the free shuttle the day before. We missed out on this because we were only here for 2 days. They dont seem to have footpaths into town so a bit unsafe.

Tired bungalows, tv didn’t work, shower cold, wifi only in lobby at top of steep hill. Pools run down and place despite being full had no one in it during the day. Cab ride anywhere, staff indifferent.

Don’t do it!!!!!!!!

Very disappointed the location has so much potential. On a cliff great view ocean front. nice garden areas could have been wonderful if hotel was managed better. Very dirty rooms, rotten decks, walking paths to no where. The golf cart ride was like being on a roller coaster the drivers idea of getting you to the room and back was worp speed!! Lol and I have a trans am so speed doesn’t usually bother me at all.... but it was nuts. Breakfast we walked by do to the smell and appeance....... hotel felt abandoned by both staff and clients..... seen more centipedes than people. The deck bath tubs were cracked sitting in rotten decks and full of leaves..... didn’t chance it clearly not the rose petal filled ones on line....... someone please save this place it’s in dire needs of love!!!!!.........

Not a great experience at this hotel, especially the staff. We stayed for 3 nights and I am glad it wasn't longer than that. The staff really needs to be trained to more friendly, helpful and approachable. The free cart service is a nice service they offer but seeing the attitude and the face of the drivers when they picked us up put me off calling for a cart.Their scooter range that are available for hire really needs servicing and maintaining. We hired a scooter, we took it to the next town it was all fine when we parked it in their reception after lunch and went off to do a package tour. When we came back later in the evening , the scooter was punchered. The evening receptionist was so unhelpful, all she was interested in was pointing out we have to pay for it. Didn't help advice us on alternative ways or suggestions, just extra money money money! Not a drop of understanding their bikes also needs maintaining, It was a waste of evening for us. To top it off, we go back to the room and the AC wasn't working! Someone came to fix it but it stopped working again and again, so in the end we slept without ac, with water dripping down from the ceiling next to the ac!! Next day did pay for the puncture and paid extra to hire the scooter, we asked if we can hire it for few more hours extra due to last nights puncture issues and cancelled plans and again answer was yes but it costs 100 baht per hour! Really disappointing stay.They really need to heavily invest on maintance and staff

Relaxing hotel with lovely views

We loved our 4 night stay. I loved hearing the crickets in the evening and viewing the moon from the balcony. We had a seaview room and didn't mind the walk down because we wanted to be active. The pool was wonderful with lovely views of the ocean. Very relaxing, away from all the noise of Chaweng. Breakfast buffet was very good and there is free wifi in the lobby. We arranged 2 day tours through an agency and they had no issues picking us up and dropping us back at this hotel. For dinner and shops, we would take a taxi truck(100 baht per person) to Chaweng or Lamai night markets. It worked out. We would stay here again.

This hotel has ruins my stay is Samui

I did the wrong choice . First Chaweng Noi beach is not Chaweng beach , far away , need anything , take a taxi , expensive fares , the first night we had no hot water , no wi fi , tv is never working , had no aircondition , no phone and no attendee after 12 pm at the front desk , the rooms haven't been checked before arriving . And by the way the so called 72 Sqm on you site is hardly 25. The breakfast is poor , the staff beside the Thai good will is unqualified ! The site could be perfect with a professional managing .

What you pay is what you get!

Most staff very unfriendly. Everything seems like a chore, especially when asking for the use of the golf cart to your room!
No area near the poolside for drinks or snacks.
We had lizards in our room, very noisy at night.
A/C was very loud.
Breakfast was very average.
Wifi only available in the lobby (which is far away from rooms)
Need to get a taxi into either town as it's probably a bit far to walk.
Nothing nearby (eg 7/11)

Nice hotel away from everything

The hotel is quite far from everything,so it isn't possible to go for a walk, but if you are doing trips with pickup from hotel it is great.
There is no wifi at rooms, only in lobby.
The hotel is situated beautifully on the hill side with a great view of the ocean.

Hills, garden, sea view but..

The hotels has nice sea view & its definitely a nice place to relax. However few things lacking, not so suitable for elderly & whoever has joint problems as need to climb down & up the hills to get to the rooms. The receptionist & waiter/waitress who was impolite in responding back to guest request. In my personal opinion, will not book this hotel again.

Nice resort with great potential!

Overall my stay was OK. I like this resort as it is a nice resort and has great potential but does need some updating and repairs. The location is nice as not all that far from Chewang Beach and Lamai Beach but you will need to hire a taxi or have your own transportation. Resort is built on a steep hill so be aware you will have some serious climbing, although resort does provide a golf cart to help get you around. The mattresses were old and terribly uncomfortable and the bedding, although clean, clearly needs some updating as well. Breakfast buffet was OK but wish they would keep the food warm as I'm not much of a fan for lukewarm food. Pool overlooking the ocean is great - spectacular view. I was disappointed to arrive at the hotel to be told I would have to pay for breakfast for my 6 and 7 year old when in my research of this hotel it clearly stated children 12 and under stay for free and it clearly stated breakfast was included with my booking showing up to 2 children being able to stay in the room. I argued with the hotel over this issue and ended up not having to pay but didn't appreciate having that thrown at me upon my arrival. Would I stay here again? Probably but will look at other options first.

Experience rulebook and not hospitality

The hotel is a rule book. The reception staff is busy telling you what we are allowed and what not. They have everything in process but nothing in understanding.

There are two pools. We went swimming in the evening and saw there is a towel counter besides the pool. When we asked the staff for towel. They asked us to climb up to the lobby going through the restaurant and sign some paper before we can get towels. On insisting that we do not want go drenched in water through a public area of restaurant and lobby, the staff present there went away and lit cigarette instead.

The same story at other seaside pool which is almost a 400-500 feet climb from pool. We did not bother to ask for pool towels any more.

They have shuttle to Chaweng beach which has following rule. Inform at least two hours in advance and still no guarantee. It is subject to availability at the time departure.

If you want to swim the don't consider these pools. They are just three circular water body with about 20-30 feet in diameter.

The breakfast is so so standard self service buffet with limited choices. We had to ask for refills every time. They are strict about the closing time of buffet.

Overall, the hotel is build on steep terrain and not easy for elderly people. The mattress could have been better and refrigerator is for name sake does not cool anything. I don't thing I would ever come back here.

Beautiful view from infinity pool

Lovely setting, great infinity pool, steep walk up to lobby and restaurant, can get a buggy but beware he gets grumpy at times. Rooms very nice furniture made of wood. Only one restaurant, great shrimp cocktail. The onsite massage centre was beautiful, massage was costly and my body scrub was very mediocre. All in all I would recommend it.

We booked 2 weeks but extended to a month, the duration of our stay.
We did upgraded from 314 to 118 well worth the slight price difference.
118 is overlooking the massage spa with panoramic sea views.
Wifi not available in the rooms and poor in reception and coffe in the room a bit hit and miss, we walked from our room to reception though a golf cart is available upon request.
Advise getting laundry done 200 yards down the road as 40 baht a kilo, hotel charge per item and very expensive.
Would stay here again though.

Rocky Rainforest Moubtain Retreat

a nice rocky rainforest mountain retreat! off the main drag, transportation is manly taxi or motorbike. Not much as for restaurants.
Picture is misleading to the untrained eye - there are private pools above the rocky treachery below. But these are nice for swims.
Rooms are a log cabin feel with creaky wooden doors. Very interesting layout.

Really nice hotel to relax

Really nice hotel with cosy rooms. Only points of criticism are that you don't have a beach, shops and other retaurants nearby so you have to take a taxi or rent a motorbike without insurance. Hotel transfer was only twice a day in the afternoon in low season to the beach.

Relaxing time away by myself

Enjoyed time out for self for 10 days … away from the hustle bustle of the main beach and shops … but close enough to pop into 'town' if I chose to shop or eat or sightsee. I went in the 'rainy' season (October) and hardly got any rain (2 hour downpour one afternoon and a slight shower on another) … didn't book organised trips til I got there … cheaper and more options … and based it around what the weather forecasts predicted. Felt completely safe at all times of the day. Wish I'd been brave enough to hire a scooter to get to a few more places. Managed to upgrade after first nite to a much more superior room and view for only an extra $10 a nite!

Bit of a foot slog to the lobby

We stayed there for 11 nights - the chalets were adequate but it is a hard foot-slog to get to the lobby as the rooms are situated on a very steep slope. Admittedly the hotel provides a golf cart to transport guests to the top but you have to wait for it to arrive which may take a while. The catering leaves a lot to be desired as there are few options to choose from on the menu. The hotel is situated on the far south side of Chenai and getting to and from the hotel (on ones own time) can be very costly when hiring a taxi. There is no beach at the hotel, the nearest being in Lamai which is a taxi ride away which the hotel does not accommodate. For travellers who want to be near shopping areas this is not your ideal situation. For those who just want to chill out at the pool this could be the one for you!

Nice sea view, quiet and comfortable

The hotel is quite nice. It is built on a slope that drops down to the sea (no beach here!). Be aware, unless you have one of the very few chalets at the bottom you cannot see anything other than the building in front of you which ruins the view a little. Plus the sense of privacy is reduced if you can see people walking alongside your window. The greenery is lovely and the pools are great for cooling down after lounging in the hot sun - you cannot do much swimming in them though, they are too small.

The staff were my main bug bear for the trip, although sometimes very helpful, generally they were lazy and lacked a 'service etiquette' that you might expect at any other hotel, typified by staff seen to be littering in front of guests and sitting outside rooms in groups smoking and chatting. This may have been representative of Thai's generally, but we found service much better in other places we visited. If you have a complaint, be ready for an argument as it seems they did not get the 'Customer is always right' memo!

The hotel is not close enough to Chaweng beach to walk easily (you can, but it takes about 40 mins) so make use of the shuttle bus. If you want to spend in the evening in Chaweng, get the taxi / bus back.

Rooms are comfortable and well cleaned, starting to look a little tired with age. It is quiet here, away from the liveliness of Chaweng, but the main ring road passes right next to the upper restaurant.

Lovely place but beware of the wildlife

This is a gorgeous resort, the pools are amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. However we had a snake in our room one night, which caused some panic.security killed it and we were told it wasn't dangerous, but obviously we were disappointed that a snake got into our room. the staff moved us to another room the next day and we enjoyed our remaining few days. Overall the staff are somewhat helpful, but their level of English makes it quite difficult to communicate sometimes.

Situated at about a few kms away from Chaweng beach this is arguably the best resort out there. There restaurant and pool overlooks the sea to give a magnificent view in the day. Though the climb from the rooms is very steep they do provide a golf cart which is indeed handy. The restaurant has a good feel to it and one gets the peace of mind irrespective of what time of the day it is. The staff is very helpful and their proficiency is English is way better than the folks in Thailand.

Its location is just on the main road. Room is ok and clean. Breakfast comes with varieties and the price is so reasonable. Bed is quite soft/slim for 150lbs up, its moves when you moved. Need to bring your own Amenities with you, likes toothbrush kits, comb, or lotions. Overall I'm still satisfy. This resort can compare with 4 or 4 1/2 stars hotels. Service is great

Great place for a stay. The rooms are set in chalets and make you feel like in a mini village.
We had a seafront chalet which overseeing the sea. the view was amazing!!! The staff is friendly and helpful- it's just a shame that not all speak basic English which makes communication harder. But overall magical!

Ok hotel for ok price but nothing special

The hotel is nice enough but nothing special. It is located between Chaweng and LaMai literally on the side of the mountain.
The Good: Nice view of wooded area and glimpses of the ocean from most areas of the hotel grounds. Nice view of the ocean from the lower restaurant and lower pool area. It is a quiet hotel as there is not much but the ring road out in front.
The Bad: There is really nothing around so you are limited to the hotel bar and restaurant for food and drink unless you want to go out. Just know there are no quick trips down to the convenience store/supermarket/other restaurant. You will have to walk on a busy road at least 20 minutes to get to a beach or take the hotel shuttle that operates 3 times a day (or rent a car or motorbike). The room was clean but the doors and windows have gaps which can let bugs and small lizards in. These are a staple in the south east asia so if you are not used to them they can freak you out. The hotel restaurant and bar are mediocre and overpriced for the quality. Staff was sort of friendly and helpful if asked. I don't want to say they were bad or good but they definitely weren't great.

Bottom line: It was my first time to Samui. It was relaxing and fun. The hotel was nice but nothing special. I would stay again if I couldn't find a better option which I am pretty sure I can.

Nothing wrong with this resort at all, it's beautifully presented, perched on a lovely hill among the rocks, rooms are clean and well presented. However the shower was always cold and they charged us for replacing like for like in the mini bar which we felt a little harsh.

Good Exercise Hotel

Staff was very helpful. The yard workers are shy mostly due to only speaking Thai. Pools were good. Breakfast was the best assortment of all for hotels of this capacity. Easy to catch red bus/truck to either town for cheap. No need to rent a bike. Hotel is situated on a hill. It is up hill to the road, which was great for daily exercise if you walked down to your room a few times. they do have a cart shuttle that will pick you upat your room and take you to the top. All in all, it is a nice resort to stay at if you don't want to be in the middle of town with all the noise...........

Cant wait to go back!!

Absolutely amazing.

We arrived here late in the evening after 3 long flights and were greeted with friendly faces, amazing service and 2 glasses of well needed cold juice. After checking in we were driven down a steep hill through what felt like a forest to our sea view room in a golf buggy. Being dark we were a little disappointed. I booked a sea view and there was a big tree in front of our balcony... i couldnt even hear the sea. It wasnt until i woke up the next morning that i realised we had the most amazing view ever. none of the photos we took do it any justice.
The room was comfortable, good aircon and very clean.
I read in the reviews that there was a hill. Being proactive we thought wed try to walk it. Lucky they have the complimentary buggy because holiday mode took over pretty quickly. Dont be afraid to use it!

The restaurant was very good. we arrived late the first night but they still hung around to make us dinner and didnt make us feel bad about it either. Breakfast was limited in choice but tasty all the same.

Baan Hin Sai is a little ways away from Chaweng beach strip but they have a shuttle service that runs 3 times a day. Tuk tuks are cheap enough between aswell. After a long day/night out it was nice to know you were going to a quieter place for the night.

If youre here to relax Baan Hin Sai is for you. It exceeded my expectations on all levels. Beyond value for money.

Rustic but quite delightful

The hotel is set in very attractive tropical grounds, the overall look is quite exotic. However, on closer inspection, many things are a little lacking - eg, the bathroom decor is not very modern, the breakfast is a bit average, most of the pool lounge chairs don't prop up. If you are usually a budget traveller you will be delighted with this place. If you are a more luxurious traveller, you will find it slightly lacking.

Hotel is great. Very nice looking. It is located on a cliff so this might be a positive or negative for some. Going up and down the steep pathways is good exercise. The hotel have a golf buggy to take guests around the hotel. You just call reception and they will send the driver down to your room to come and get you. Hotel staff were nice and professional. The location of the hotel is about 10-15 mins away from actual chaweng beach, the hotel provides a shuttle bus for free during the day. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this place is great but not if you are wanting to experience the nightlife of chaweng beach.

Our best hotel

Perfect for us! Superb hotel we enjoyed so much our stay. 2 swiming pools, and one in front of the sea. Be careful, no beach in this hotel, you have to take the free shuttle or rent a motobike to go to the beach. But it doesn't matter...
It was the best hotel we did in one month. If you rent a motobike, you have a beautiful beach 5 min from the hotel, just at the begining of Lamai, you have to go throught a restaurant...

You HAVE to stay here!

Oh my goodness, what to say! The hotel itself is GORGEOUS! Stunning Thai foliage all around and the rooms have all the ammenities and are gorgeous to boot! The golf-card service is very usefull as the resort is so big you may not always want to walk. The TWO restaurants have very affordable, clean, delicious food and the staff are beyond helpfull and speak great English (they even carried our bags on their shoulders up three flights of stairs!). You are only 200BHT from the amazing Chaweng Beach road (with all the markets and nightlife), and are private enough that the two pools (which look exactly like the photos btw) are overlooking the beach. for the amout that you pay (which is almost nothing!) I was blown away! WHY would you stay anywhere else?!

The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant. We stayed in a seaside chalet which was spacious. The buffet breakfast and meals were pretty average. In the mini bar the bottled water they class as being mineral water which you are charged for. The walkways are very steep so are a workout for your calves. Overall we had a nice stay.

For the price it's def worth it. U don't hear the noise of town. No beach though it's a cliff. Slightly run down but they try hard!
Yes to get to reception is a steep uphill walk.lots of ants but hey it's the jungle!

\"I cannot recommend this hotel\"

The hotel was generally clean and the hotel staff were pleasant. It was very well located. We were not, however, impressed with the quality of the rooms which did not reflect the descriptions we read. For example, there was no DVD in the room and the shower was broken (and was eventually fixed the day before we checked out). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel as something was stolen from the luggage of one of the fellow travellers and the hotel hotel manager was extremely unhelpful in trying to get to the bottom of what was clearing quite distressing for us.

If you like solitude and a relaxing

If you like solitude and a relaxing stay; This is the place! Some distance from the main shops and restaurants, and you can not swim in the sea at the hotel. Placed on a rock and steep walks from chalet to the reception gives you a good exercise.

I immensely enjoyed my stay at Baan Hin Sai resort. They hotel was beautiful and the shuttle service was very convenient.
The hotel was beautiful and the pool was picturesque.
My only concern was that it was quite a distance from the beach.
The breakfast was also a little average.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
But my stay overall was beautiful.

Very nice hotel in a bad location. You have to pay 200 Bahts every time you want to go to Lamai or Changweng. So it is a little bit expencive. But it's very nice hotel if you want to relax inside hotel.

When you walk around the property you have the feeling you are in a jungle. Green areas are kept nicely and there are two beautiful pools open all day. The property should do some renovation though (some spots are in poor conditions!). There are 3 main negative marks. The hotel doesn’t have a beach even though it is really close to the ocean; a ladder would be enough to swim!!!! (it’s easy to fix this problem) even if you can’t sunbathe. Unfortunately, there are no services within 4/5 km so you have to take taxis for everything (the only beach near the hotel is approximately 1 km away but it is unreachable due to poor walking conditions). A free shuttle service would be highly appreciated. Lastly, the food is good but the service has to be improved: a waiting time of about 40 minutes is unacceptable.

Photos non conformes, service client inexistant

Les photos présentent sur le site sont non conformes à la réalité.
Il y a certes des piscines mais pas entretenu avec de nombreux cadavre de bouteilles de bières jonchant les transats.
Le restaurants bord de mer est fermé, vous n’aurez que la solution de manger à celui bordant une nationale très passante. Les chambres sont datés, avec des tableaux d’un goût douteux et une literie plus qu’inconfortable.
Il n’y a aucun accès à la plage et vous devrez à vous résoudre à prendre des taxis (400 baths par trajet) pour vous rendre sur des plages.
Pire, l’hôtel à refusé de nous commander un taxi pour nous rendre dans un autre hôtel que nous avions réservez sur l’ile

Hotellet har tidigare varit bra. Bodde där 2008 och 2013 men tyvärr har det slutits och blivit sämre och sämre utan att någon tar han om det. Rummen var värdelöst städade och det var massa kryp på rummen. Sista gången, baan hin sai har haft sitt men är tyvärr borta

周りにお店は少ないけれど、ビーチの目の前でゆっくりできる長期滞在に向いたヴィラでした。
洗濯機とアイロンがあったらもっと良かったです。（サイトによっては有りと記載されていますが、実際はないです。）
ベッドが一つだけメイキングされていないのが残念でした。
また、キッチンは電熱器でしたが、弱火と強火が分かりにくいです。
現地の担当の方は明るく親切で気持ち良く過ごせました。

シャワーのお湯が出ず、初日に修理してもらいました。
タオルはフェイスタオルは無くバスタオルとバスマットのみ。
スタッフは皆良い人達でした。
ビーチには遠く歩いて行ける距離ではありませんが、シャトルバスが一日3回出ているのでそれを使うと問題無く行けます。
