Where should i start, heating too low, rooms very small, dirty hotel with big insects appearing on the towels, and small ants, kind of well located but dirtiness makes it horrible, and the tiny room is bad too. This is one of the hotels i sadly won't stay in again. Elevator weird works in different directions often. Hard to find this hotel also. Wofi too slow

Breakfast is quite delicious but best part is location. It’s right above Thamrin City for Jakarta’s best Muslim/Muslimah apparel both selection and prices. But do request for rooms with views otherwise you may end up in a dark and dinghy room with no view, like me. Very depressing. Bathroom needs upgrading. They really should “up their game” especially since there are other hotels just a stone’s throw away offering newer bigger and cleaner more pleasant rooms - at same or cheaper rates.

i have stayed here for more than 5 times over the years. What I like the most about the hotel is simply on the location as it's easier for me to do the shopping around Thamrin City and Tanah Abang. Restaurants are nearby too.

The location is great right in the city centre. it is on the same building with the mall and the mall is closed at 6 PM so it is not recommend for late check in after 9 PM because the loby is hard to find.

GREAT BUDGET HOTEL

a very good budget hotel indeed.
This has been my 8th times staying here. The room is very clean and the bed comfortable. Hotel is located inside the shopping mall (6th floor) and very convenient indeed. Check-in and check-out very prompt and fast. All room rates include breakfast - mostly local food and not bad for a 2.5* hotel. If you are looking for just a room to sleep and most of the time out shopping... then this is the hotel for you. Not suitable for kids as the Hotel do not have a swimming pool or kids playroom. No gym, no frills, no mini bar or coffee/tea in room. But there is a hot water dispenser outside the rooms on every floor.

The ideal Hotel for travellers visiting Jakarta

This is a fantastic hotel in terms of location, faciltites and service. We had a great time staying at this hotel as the staff ahd made us felt welcome. The only flaws were the sink faucet in the bathroom for cold water was not working and the single bed nearer to the safety box had sunken. Maybe to add a few more varieties in the room service menu (by the way, the room service food was great and tasty) and maybe to add or change new items for the breakfast spread.Will definitely recommend to family and friends to stay at this hotel.

1st timer in jakarta

The hotel is just in the tharmin city mall, good for shopping lovers. It will be nice if the hotel does have some weighing scale to weigh for luggage. The hotel is comfortable for basic stay although there is a bit rundown (the toilet door is spoilt unable to close it, variety food for breakfast is quite limited). Requested for extra pillows from hotel counters for 2 days but the request never come true. Change of WIFI password on 2nd day was not informed by the hotel counters until we asked then about access wifi issue.

Just across the road is another shopping centre: Grand Indonesia Mall.

Though low in \"STAR\"... the hotel wins on location

In the past when travelling to Jakarta, I stayed in more expensive hotels. But .. everywhere I wanted to go, I need to take the taxi and faced the Jakarta jams. Amaris Thamrincity is so simple, with nothing to boast with regards high-class amenities. Though located on the 6th. FLOOR of a shopping mall, with small rooms, and mere basic facilities... it is in the centre of everything I want. Very convenient to people like me who value time, convenience and NOT \"the hotel stars\" Been here many times.

Although the rooms were a teeny run down (cracks on walls) and had simple decor, it was easily overlooked as the hotel had very friendly and more importantly, very competent staff. During my entire stay every one that we passed had a greeting and a smile. Every request were handled quickly, and competently. I don't usually bother with reviews but the staff here really left a great impression, and deserve a shoutout! Also, the hotel's lift lobby is literally next door to Thamrin City's entrance so you can knock yerselves off with the shopping and food. Level 2 food court is worth checking out. Grand Indonesia the giant mall about 5 mins away on foot.

Seriously this hotel is fully booked only cause of the LOCATION. Other than that it's an overpriced Budget hotel with horrible service and very lousy rooms. My room aircon was non existent and leaking and even after maintenance came to repair it continues not to work. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone even if they die die wanna shop in Thamrin City. That money is better spend elsewhere.

The Management should put carpet at the walkway to prevent any hearing when people walk and talk.

The hotel is located on the 6th floor of a mall & is considered central. A lot of eateries downstairs.
Also within walking distance to a big modern mall Grand Indonesia with good brands / a large foodcourt.

The room was quite spacious however the in-room facilities were very minimum. With the price paid they should provide at least the basic necessities without us asking such as shower cap/ coffee/tea / laundry bag / sanitary bag.

The hotel was just basic don't expect anything fancy.
But the location was not too bad about 5-10 minutes taxi ride to Tanah Abang.

1 more thing - there was only 1 lift working when we were there. Lift was quite slow.
Reception & lift - u have to be fast otherwise the locals would just bulldoze into the lift without even considering that we were there first.

Memorable Stay at Amaris Hotel Thamrin City

We stayed here for three nights. This was really a memorable stay there. All staffs were very gentle, quite, helpful and friendly. The location is very helpful for find out all necessary things around the hotel and going to anywhere. I feel that cupboard is necessary in all rooms for keeping luggage and clothes comfortably.

The hotel is so close to Grand Indonesia n Plaza Indonesia shopping mall. Service was good. Although location of hotel is a bit tricky. We were dropped off downstairs in front of the mall by Blue Bird Taxi driver. N had to dragged our huge luggages ourselves to the lift, which they only have one, so u need to wait. No bellboy available, had to dragged the luggages again to the level 7 room (reception is in level 6). Brekky was ordinary, nothing special. Location makes this hotel a winner.

Basic hotel. Service was good -- the staff was quick to respond to any questions and requests that we had. Free breakfast provided. Wifi access was reliable. Sheets were slightly stained, but otherwise clean. Electronic safe started signalling low battery about 2 days into our stay, but wasn't a concern as we didn't use it. Great location.

My family and I 12 of us, having difficutly to check in because the staff was too slow. It seems this hotel having problem to serve hotel guests because all the staff are too slow. The hotel is too basic and not worth my money. I would pay RM165 at other hotel with better facility. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel facilities is too bad like iron and iron board, my scarf burned because the iron-damage, no adjustable knob for temperature setting.
Another problem is for the non smoker room its located too far and the smoker they located infront.
The management should take responsible if unnecessary condition happen to the customer and their belongings.

Located in the city, Amaris Thamrin is a stone away from Grand Indonesia Mall & Plaza Indonesia. Rooms are small but cozy and at its competitive price, I can't ask for more. Check out Tanamera Coffee located just around the corner for its Red Velvet latte, awesome cafe with great staffs!

Although the location is very centralize , the quality of the hotel service below 2 stars standard. Air Cond not cold, bath towel colour has changed from white to yellowish. I booked for room with window but was given no window and the staff insisted that the window room is base on first availability. Price are expensive if compare to other 4 stars hotel in the city. We have stayed in the Amaris hotel chain in a number of locations in Indonesia, and is our choice when looking for budget long term accommodation, with which we are generally happy. This property, however was less satisfying than others. The location was convenient, but being in Jakarta it was more tired than other properties so there was also a general drain smell, and the air conditioning was not as good as others. Staff were also less friendly than other properties. Generally, the breakfast in this chain is less diverse and less satisfying than at other hotels, especially for an international traveller looking for something green or fresh. But given the price one can't complain. We were just not as happy here as in other Amaris hotels we have stayed in Indonesia.

Pleasant little budget hotel

A highly-recommended place for those travelling on a budget (and looking to spend their cash on shopping). This place is situated in the best of both worlds; it is very near the luxurious Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia and also situated on top of Thamrin City which sells cheap goods. If you want to go Tanah Abang Grosir, better to take the bajaj to beat the notorious jam.
Basic hotel amenities, clean bathroom and modern room. Hotel staff is very friendly. Being fluent in Bahasa Indonesia is a major bonus for easy communication.

The hotel is very centrally located, has some good transport connections nearby and a load of shopping malls. However, the corridors seem to have a 'loudspeaker' effect - even the most quiet conversation in the hallway seems to be awfully loud. Every morning from 6 am there were families moving out, or little kids running around, knocking on doors and making sooo much noise I couldn't sleep anymore. There is a security guy at the end of the hallway but he doesn't seem to care that those people are making so much noise. I'd probably look for a different place next time...

The breakfast looks nice but i didnt had the time to try it.

Convenient location. But smoke seaps from adjacent rooms.

Good Location

The room we were allocated was in the middle aisle of the floor and there is a window which opens into the corridor. There was a blind over that though it does not completely cover the window as there is gap and you can see through that gap. They probably should not have that window or have a better curtain which cover that completely.
The breakfast was good though they were slow to refill things.
