We had an absolutely phenomenal stay at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.

A very special thank you to Indah at the Club Lounge — she is truly a gem. Courteous, professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area, her recommendations helped us discover some fantastic spots around Jakarta. She genuinely elevated our experience.

Katika, also at the Club Lounge, was equally impressive — attentive, proactive, and always one step ahead. Both of them represent the hotel beautifully.

The birthday surprises were unforgettable. The room service team (three wonderful ladies whose names we unfortunately didn’t catch) surprised me with a cake and sang — it truly made my day. Just when I thought that was it, Indah and Katika surprised me again during evening cocktails with a beautifully presented dish from the Chinese restaurant along with a thoughtful card. Absolutely first class.

Housekeeping was excellent, the front desk team was welcoming and efficient, and the buffet was outstanding — especially appreciated the chef personally coming by to check on guests. That level of care says everything.

We’ve stayed at several Mandarin Oriental properties around the world — they’re always excellent — but Jakarta truly went above and beyond. Professional, polished, detail-oriented, and genuinely warm.

We will absolutely return and will highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta.

The service was impeccable, with staff members who went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The warmth and attentiveness of the team made me feel truly valued, and I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming environment.
The room itself was a sanctuary of comfort and elegance, with stunning views of the city skyline. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the design was evident in every corner. I especially appreciated the modern amenities that blended seamlessly with the classic, refined decor.
Dining at the hotel was an absolute highlight. The selection of restaurants offered a variety of delicious cuisines, each crafted with such care and skill. Whether enjoying a leisurely breakfast or a gourmet dinner, every meal was a memorable experience.
The hotel’s location is also ideal—central, yet peaceful, offering easy access to Jakarta's best attractions and shopping spots.
The facilities, including the spa and fitness center, were top-notch and offered a wonderful way to unwind after a busy day.

Outstanding customer service. From the moment you arrive you experience VIP levels of service (even if you’re not!) The number of staff members who called me by name was impressive! Upgraded room was very appreciated. Neha one of the concierges was super helpful and was more than helpful and accommodating. Après notre première nuit, l’équipe a immédiatement pris en compte notre demande de changement de chambre, ce que nous avons énormément apprécié.
Nous avons également eu la chance de bénéficier d’un upgrade en suite junior, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus confortable. De manière générale, la qualité du service est remarquable : attentionné, efficace et toujours avec le souci du détail.

Loved our stay! We booked into a club room and took advantage of the free airport meet and greet and Silver bird car to the hotel.
Our room was spacious and lovely.
We took full advantage of the club lounge for evening drinks, and like dinner.
Breakfast, we ate in the main dining room on the ground floor. An amazing array of totally delicious food.

Jakarta was an unexpected stop on my journey home, and I booked the Mandarin Oriental at the last minute. The price was surprisingly reasonable for a Mandarin Oriental, though it’s clear why it’s not as expensive as some of the group’s other locations worldwide — it doesn’t have the same “flash” or ultra-luxury feel you might find in, say, Taiwan.

What really stood out was the service, which went above and beyond. I had a problem with a taxi attempting to overcharge me and even pretend my payment hadn’t gone through, but the concierge quickly sorted it out and personally ensured I was protected. I requested a high floor and a good view — not only did I get both, but I was also upgraded. A welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch, and the staff were consistently attentive.

The restaurants were great — I tried the cake shop and the level-two restaurant, both of which were excellent and reasonably priced. The location is also very convenient, with a shopping center just across the road, which was perfect for my six-hour stay.

As for the room, while the view was spectacular, the room itself was quite standard — clean and functional, but not the standout luxury you might expect from a Mandarin Oriental.

My niece and I had an absolutely delightful stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta for 5 days in May 2025.

Our room was spacious, clean, and tidy, providing a very comfortable base for our visit. Waking up to the stunning view of \"Tugu Selamat Datang\" was a real treat, offering a vibrant glimpse into Jakarta's bustling city life.

Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with an impressive array of choices that truly set us up for the day. A special mention must go to the staff at the breakfast restaurant, who were incredibly attentive and genuinely nice, making each morning even more enjoyable. We also loved the convenience of being within walking distance of high-end shopping malls.

We highly recommend the Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta for anyone visiting the city!

Soundproof rooms… Not!!!

I booked this hotel for the 3rd time. I never noticed before but this time I did is the noice coming from outside from the hallway, the widows, and the above floor.
You advertise on hotel.com soundproof rooms this is one of the reasons I switched to your hotel you should rethink before advertising this. The first night I was very tired I never noticed but the morning the noice outside of the room was very loud. Then when going to bed the second night I was still awake at 3am as whoever was upstairs walking with high-hills on until very late. Then to be woke up at 8am with the bands outside., unacceptable to have thought I had a soundproof room.

The service is being always great. Hotel needs to offer a whole package to keep the guests coming back. I don’t think I would stay again next time I am back in Jakarta.

This hotel is certainly one of the best hotels or the best one I have ever stayed in during my entire overseas trips of the last 40 some years. The facilities and the service of the staff were almost IMPECCABLE. Their consideration for the purpose of my stay afforded me an incredibly spacious room. Very good hotel in comparison to its competitors around central and south Jakarta. Of note was the support and attentiveness of one particular member of staff from guest services, Salvina, if I recall her name correctly, went above and beyond to ensure I felt well looked after a misunderstanding that occurred early in my stay. She was highly professional but also appeared to genuinely care about ensuring my stay was a happy one. She’s a credit to the hotel and is the reason I’ll rate my stay as a 5 here instead of 4.

Cons:
- Extremely noisy at night. Vehicle noise is heard clearly whenever it passed the road.
- air conditioner in room is noisy. It was a lot over-sized. And control is by on/off after reaching the set temperature. So, kept hearing the motor on/off noise
- I stayed at suite room. But whole room got only one tissue box. Not handy. I asked housekeeper to provide two more, one was put next to bed, another was put on office desk.
- no arm rest on office chair.

The hotel is nice and the staff are the best - remembered me by name and my preferences and were very generous hearted in general! Some of the food is awesome, especially the American chocolate cake which was ethereal! The rooms are spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The bar also has some great cocktails.

The not so great bits: It's a bit noisy because of where it is located (you can hear a faint hum of traffic across the night, had to put on a speaker with white noise to blunt it out). Breakfast has exactly the same menu every single day which gets boring quickly. The bar was nearly empty late into Friday night which was a bit odd.

All in all, a pleasant stay but not without some issues.
