While the hotel is beautiful it was not as expected. Hotel was advertised with cafe & bar these do not exist. The restaurant is only open Wed-Sun not told this when booked. So to get a drink have to go into the town.Paid for superior room - very hot as air con not powerful enough. Room had no view and was next to a aerobic classroom so was very noisy. Bathroom didn’t even include the ‘luxury’ items as in photos. Overall not good value for the money we paid.

One of our favourite hotels on our recent trip to Tenerife. The hotel was located centrally in Garachico with a short walk to attractions and restaurants. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night and it was one of the best meals of our trip.

A little gem

La Quinta Roja surpassed my expectations. Very attentive personnel and beautiful facilities. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable.Breakfast was very good also; everything fresh. The hotel is located in the atmospheric historical district of Garachico.

Excellent location just off the main square. The building itself is impressive with rooms arranged around a very atractive courtyard. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of a good quality although orange juice was rationed and watered down by the waiting staff for some reason. Enjoyed a very nice evening meal one night although price was higher than most of the local restaurants we tried. Just a couple of niggles. Our ground floor room suffered from a lot if noise from footsteps in the room above which we were told was a known design fault. Also the restaurant floor was very bouncy which made the evening meal a bit less relaxing as waiting staff walked to and fro. Despite a few quirks I would recommend as a great place to stay.

Great character hotel in Garachico

La Quinta Roja is a lovely hotel in a converted old mansion right in the heart of Garachico; there is a lovely courtyard seating area and a smart restaurant. Breakfast was excellent. Our room was reasonably sized, well-equipped and comfortable.

Fabulous Stay in Garachico

Beautiful property with well-appointed rooms right in the center of the quaint village of Garachico. The staff is super friendly and helpful, providing you with information-filled tablets upon check-in. There is also a pillow menu available should you desire specific bedding. The breakfast served is delicious and on our last day, as we were leaving prior to serving time, the hotel opened breakfast early for us. Truly a magnificent stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

Grand building, but overpriced

Great 16th-century building on the main square of Garachico, but I found this hotel to be overpriced.
The room was noisy (street noise) and lacked in comfort: very small, and the toilet was loose in the bathroom.
Good breakfast and wonderful setting (courtyard is very nice). But judging the room itself, it wasn't at the level I'd expect for the price I paid.

We love Garachico, not many tourists and very authentic. This is a very good hotel, given that there are not many other options in the area. The room was clean and we liked the breakfast. Having said all this, it still felt a bit expensive.

Fabulous hotel, great location, comfortable rooms. The rooftop jacuzzi is really lovely and relaxing after a day out walking.
Breakfast has a good variety. Shame the bar didn't seem to be open / staffed when we were there.
Beautiful courtyard to sir and read.
Definitely to be recommended.

Secluded haven in central location

Lovely welcome and felt immediately at home. Stayed four nights in Room 108. Would recommend upstairs room though to avoid occasional noise from wooden floor above. Lovely sitting area with sofas for pre dinner drinks and to read anytime in the day. Sunbathing area on roof which we used once. Breakfast was incredible. Filter coffee with warm milk to help self to. Lovely bread choice with several different cheeses and cooked meats. Fresh fruit and cereals too and little cake selection. Early breakfast in our last day was accommodated by Miriam with a smile. Felt so looked after and loved the way the place has been refurbished. Location is perfect being only three blocks to seafront. Car parking nearby at couple of car parks or on roads. Most comfortable beds ever and subdued lighting very relaxing

A very welcome feel

My partner and I have enjoyed a wonderful week at the Hotel La Quinta Roja. The staff were lovely friendly people, who were always happy to help. The hotel is not too big, which is one the reasons that we chose it, and it has kept a lot of it's old character and charm, with outdoor spaces that are relaxing and beautiful. Garachico is also a lovely welcoming town and was well worth the mountainous drive from the airport.
We hope to go back there again before too long.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Wonderful, atmospheric boutique hotel

We loved our stay at this charming hotel. Our suite in the second floor was large, comfortable, and had great views of the plaza and more distant mountainside. It is located in the most beautiful part of Tenerife, and is close to several coastal walks. Highly recommended.

Historic building in the heart of Garachico

The hotel is a lovely historic building right in the middle of Garachico. Our room was lovely, with lots of character and nice and quiet, although a little warm even in January. Breakfast was delicious, and it was nice to be able to eat outside. I loved the little extra bits to explore - the lookout room at the top of some narrow stairs, and the roof terrace with great views, as well as a lovely patio. Great place to stay in the north of the island!

Garachico Gem

A one night stay on a two week trip to Tenerife. The hotel was a gem, very much like an Haveli in India with a central courtyard and rooms centred around this. Room very comfortable, service excellent and ambience very tranquil. The village is very authentic and clean. Excellent restaurants including the Ardeola which is a little different. Also a great tapas bar in the street behind the hotel. Worth staying more than one night......

Beautiful Courtyard hotel in the village square

Garachico has a fantastic village square and La Quinta Roja is located on one side of the square. The dining terrace is at the side overlooking the square. Our room was very well appointed with a side sitting room.

A great view over the square. Breakfast was supplied with plenty of choice. There is a nice bar and shop that's part of the hotel reception. Staff are very attentive and helpful with good local knowledge.

Garachico has typical small streets and parking is limited especially as we arrived with a village carnival in progress.

I would return here without hesitation.

Great little boutique hotel

Great little hotel in Garachico. Rooms arranged around an open central courtyard filled with plants and sofas. Continental breakfast with eggs and various hams/cheeses/chorizos etc.

Worth noting that the natural swimming pools in Garachico are closed during the winter.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff

Such a lovely hotel! It is on the prettiest square in Tenerife. A beautiful old building with so much character. The courtyard is absolutely gorgeous - a lovely place to sit and have a drink or read a book. All the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Great breakfasts on the terrace. Our room was basic but really comfortable and cool on hot days. I would definitely return!

Excellent location

Excellent location and very nice hotel but in need of some updating. Some of the furniture covers were very worn and chairs in need of repair. We were there for two weeks and found there was a lack of storage and the rooms were very basic.

Nevertheless the location and friendly and helpful staff went a long way to making this one of our best holidays. The Village is beautiful, full of history, fabulous restaurants and is totally unspoilt by tourism.

Disappointed in room itself although hotel was ok

I take a long time choosing a hotel to make sure it is just right for our needs and tastes and I upgraded this one to a double plus room to ensure I got what I wanted but the room was not nice at all. Putting 2 dressing gowns into a bathroom does not make it a comfort room. I realise that the building is very old and the public places were lovely but to us the room is the main thing and this one was small, dark, bare and had nothing going for it at all. At £125 a night for bed and breakast we thought this made it over priced. I wasn't happy. I did go back too reception to check they had given us the right room but they assured me they had.

Excellent position. Heating could have been better

Although we had booked a superior room we were given a room with a bathroom that had no extractor fan working and a room that was affected by noisy traffic. We asked to move but had to pay for it,which seemed slightly unfair. The first room only had one chair ,poor for a superior room whilst the upgrade had 4 which seemed slightly excessive. The weather was cold and the public seating was cold and damp and not very inviting.

Lovely quiet hotel in an old Canarian mansion

We stayed for a week in February at this wonderful adult base - a beautiful old Canarian mansion with impeccable taste. Room 207 is a lovely large junior suite upstairs, with a sitting area with two chairs, two reading lights, overlooking the town square. Beds perfect. Breakfast scrumptious in the courtyard - including delightful home-made heart-shaped biscuits on Valentines Day - in fact home-made goodies different every day. Windows that open, hooray. Beautiful inner courtyard full of charm, for hot or cold drinks - and a little bar for drinks - and a Tapas bar at the rear of the building. We ate in several of the local restaurants, enjoying especially Aristides for his simply grilled freshly caught fish, and the family atmosphere and welcome at La Perla. There is a spectacular view from El Burgado, an excellent restaurant on the rocks beyond the Golf Club at Buenavista, a few miles west - we witnessed the great storm of Feb 15th 2014 at high tide there, snugly inside and eating well! Foodies will enjoy Gaspar's restaurant in town.

Very minor point -some occasional traffic noise at rear of hotel (our room was to the rear). Was cold some nights (at it was Christmas) so additional blankets for the beds were essential as the hotel has no heating. Staff (most speak perfect english) very freindly, helpful and advised regarding restaurants over Christmas and New Year.

Nice quiet hotel

Nice hotel in a quiet town on the north coast of Tenerife.
The hotel was mainly quiet, clean and well appointed. My only criticism would be the wifi range was not great and certainly did not make it to the room. A minor point as the rest was all a pleasure.
Recommended.

Character hotel – delicious tapas to hand

After an initial hiccup when the Expedia booking system had made it look as if we'd booked for one person, even though we'd paid for two, we were given a warm welcome. The hotel is wonderfully centrally located, off a square with ample people-watching possibilities, yet with its own plant-filled central courtyard providing a calm oasis and comfortable chairs for a good read with a beer. Interiors are clean but not bland, with polished wooden floors.

We spent both our two evenings at the little tapas bar round the corner (also owned by the hotel), which is unpretentious and friendly, with generously-portioned, well cooked food. The fancier restaurant at the end of the street also looked good, but was closed both nights we were there... they seem to take it in turns to shut on various days of the week, so you need to plan more carefully than we did.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building which has been restored to elegance and charm. We particularly enjoyed the tower lounge room with a 360 degree view and the relaxing courtyard, full of ferns and flowers. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We look forward to returning soon.

Magical place to stay in a beautiful town away from the tourist hordes. Great place to be located if you want to explore Tenerife, especially the beautiful north.

Within 2 minutes you are at the seafront and there is a wealth of restaurants, cafes and cultural sites nearby.

A tranquil oasis in a lovely town

Located in beautiful building, situated on a square in the town centre with several bar/restaurant options nearby, this hotel exceeded all expectations. After parking nearby, we were greeted, checked in, shown the hotel facilities and shown to our room by 2 very friendly staff members. Our room was decorated in a calming colour scheme with comfortable furnishings. The shower room was spacious and well equipped. The palm filled courtyard was the perfect place to relax with a coffee or enjoy a glass of wine under the stars. Breakfast buffet choices were plentiful and tasty, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice!. A very pleasant stay.

Great base in Garachico

Very nice small hotel, situated on the town square, with friendly, helpful staff. Last year we stayed at the San Roque, and found the beds so uncomfortable we chose not to return. The beds and rooms at La Quinta Roja were comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. Overall La Qunita Roja was significantly better value for money than the rather pretentious San Roque. We will certainly return to La Quinta Roja.
Don't worry about the chimes from the church tower, it does not chime between 11pm and 7am, and we very soon became accustomed to it and slept through the morning chimes.

Hotel La Quinta Roja, a unique experience

Staying in this hotel in well kept and beautiful, historical buildings was an extraordinary experience. The room and bathroom with its simple, but quality furniture was outstanding. Peaceful and cunning tortoises in the little bassin in the yard. I do want to stay there again.

See the real Tenerife!

A great little place to stay in the heart of Garachico, very peaceful little town and totally the opposite of the Southern Tenerife beach resorts. Hotel was very comfortable, quiet, in room amenities were good. My only complaint was that there wasnt one English language channel on the TV, even though satellite TV was advertised, it would have been nice to have even an English language news channel, the staff were very helpful and breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Just for grown-ups!

This is a beautiful hotel in an authentic, quiet and atmospheric town well away from the noisy package-holiday side of Tenerife. The hotel itself is exquisite, with a delightful courtyard and very nice rooms. The only downside is that the hotel is next to the town square, which is usually incredibly peaceful except for Carnival night. The sensible thing is to join in festivities, rather than try and sleep through them. Nevertheless, this would not put me off visiting again - I would just make sure that I knew what was happening locally. On the whole though, a great hotel and a real grown-up place to stay!

Meget smukt og velholdt hotel i en ældre bygning. Holdt i gammel stil med den smukkeste den smukkeste indvendige gårdhave, hvor man kan sidde i bløde sofaer. Her er fred og ro særligt om aftenen og natten.
