Fantastic room. Spacious. If I was being picky I’d say there could be shelving in the bathroom and bedside drawers in the bedroom but that’s not a major issue. The hot tub was lovely, however, having paid for seven nights use there was two days we couldn’t use it as it went cold and someone had to come and sort it out. Technically that’s two nights of use we paid for and was unable to use it. Staff were amazing. Very attentive and helpful. Overall we had a brilliant stay and would definitely return. Already thinking of biooong for next year.

We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Sun Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tenerife. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which really made a difference to our experience.
Our apartment was lovely and perfect for the four of us (two couples). The air conditioning was excellent, and the bathroom was impressively huge and spacious. The pool area was well maintained and provided a lovely spot to relax.
A special mention must go to the breakfast buffet - it was incredible and we'd highly recommend adding this to your stay. We got into a great routine of eating breakfast at the hotel each morning, having lunch out while exploring, then cooking in the apartment each evening (we used the room service menu one evening, which was great value and delicious).
The location proved to be a great base for exploring the island with a hire car, and the local area itself was fantastic.
The only downside was that the kitchen felt quite dated with some very old appliances. We encountered a leaky kettle and a few items that were difficult to use or broken, but we managed to work around these issues.
Overall, we had a wonderful time. The combination of excellent staff, comfortable accommodation, fantastic breakfast, and great location made for a memorable stay.

Staff were very helpful and approachable. The hotel was a bit dated but kept clean and tidy. It’s a little bit isolated from the shops and tucked away but the views are great.

Had at great stay at the royal sun. Our apartment was beautiful and we had everything we could need. We had a three bed on the top floor. The facilities in the room were superb, especially the jacuzzi. The bathrobe and slippers were a nice touch too. Beds were very comfortable. Whole apartment was spotless and great quality towels. The views were to die for at all times of the day. We also found the area very peaceful. Great to have our own area to chill in water and lounge on the sunbeds on the huge balcony. TV in main bed room too that has access to the balcony.
All staff we met were great especially the blonde receptionist we met at check in. We didn't use housekeeping as we only stayed 5 nights and we tidy as we go but we met the ladies to change towels and get a few coffees and they were lovely also. Shop was really handy, you wouldn't be stuck for anything and nice staff here too. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on food or drink.
The pool was a nice temperature and not too busy on our stay so my daughter had plenty fun here with her snorkel set. Loads of sun loungers and umbrellas on a beautiful deck. Sea views and a bar with ice-cream and snacks also.
We did avail of a late check out and we were accommodated till 1pm for an extra €20 which we were delighted with.
Overall this is a great resort with everything you could need. The apartment was amazing for the money we paid so we felt it was good value for our group of 6. I would definitely return.

We were given a room with windows from the bathroom and one bedroom that opened directly to the children’s play ground, restaurant, and the pool area that was one level up. The noise was an issue.
When we asked front desk staff if we could move to a quieter area the response was unexpected. We were advised that because we booked through a third party, Expedia, they couldn’t do anything for us. After further discussion, the manager advised that if we paid a 50 Euro cleaning fee we could move…..to a room directly beside the resorts only functional elevator. Just a different noise. We stayed put and made the best of our week.

The rooms were very outdated - it was like walking into the early 1990s. The view from the balcony made up for it though. It was breathtaking. The location is good, walking distance from the small town. Nice pool.

We signed up to get a hotel transfer from the airport with the hotel and the driver was 40 minutes late with no communication to us. Also it was a different driver as mentioned. It would have been easier to get an Uber or regular taxi.

The hotel is located on a mountain, with incredible views of Los Gigantes and the ocean from the balcony. Warm pool in January, two high-quality restaurants with delicious dishes. The rooms are comfortably designed with large balconies and sun loungers. Responsive and professional staff, very polite and hospitable. We were very happy that our choice fell on this hotel, the only thing I could not get used to was the hard mattress, but this is personal preference. Sun Resort Hotel met all our expectations, I recommend it.

There is currently building work going on at the hotel which we were not made aware of prior to our trip. The lift near our apartment was being upgraded and the whole street is being resurfaced. The actual hotel rooms are great (albeit out dated) with big balconies over looking the sea. Amazing views. Uncomfortable beds. Great showers. Amazing breakfast. Lovely friendly staff.

Didn’t find it great for the kids (10,7,5). Pool was nice and view stunning but there wasn’t any organised play for them, room of the pool but more free play. Also, no mini disco or other activities.

Resort is dated, but clean and the rooms are spacious, but dated, had everything we required. Balcony huge, with stunning views. Couldn’t get subbed! Was very busy, busier than usual apparently. Animation team kept the kids busy, pool bigger than it looks. Road works made it a nightmare to park- we hired a car, however we heard no noise or disturbances. Amenities close by including a Lidl. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would return.

The hotel is incredible. We stayed in the standard suite and were given the 4th floor. The bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet, so we slept very well. The bathroom was ultra luxurious with large walk-in shower and good quality hairdryer. The terrace views are stunning and there’s table with chairs and 3 loungers. We wanted to dine in the Aqua restaurant, however the choice of food was very limited. Only 4 mains and tasting menu (which had uninspiring mains as well), so we ended up only having cocktails on their terrace, which were lovely. So was the breakfast in the other restaurant, which had all you could think of, including Cava. There were only few minor dislikes, there was construction all around the hotel, so not very appealing to walk through. There was no washing machine. The hotel car park was full, so had to look for parking elsewhere. All in all I would definitely return.

We stayed in one of the renovated, luxury apartments. They were finished to a high standard, and have a large outside terrace with jacuzzi and a great view on the sea. The beds were very comfortable. There were two bathrooms, which makes the apartment very convenient for friends.

This property has incredible views from the rooms as it is high up the mountain in Los Gigantes. You can walk to and from the town/marina in about 18 minutes, (longer coming up) but taxis are cheap enough if you need a lift. It was fairly quiet when we were there so plenty of sunbeds if necessary and the pool wasn't too busy either.
The rooms were lovely and spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The balcony area was huge with 3 sunbeds, a table and chairs and a rail for drying things so suited us immensely.
We used the mini-market a few times which although a bit more expensive, was very useful when we couldn't find the energy to go back out again.
Overall a lovely hotel, you could stay up there if you had all inclusive and not need to come out but you would them miss out on the lovely town of Los Gigantes and the day trips from the marina. The resort was clean, the size of the balcony in the room and views from it were beautiful, the food in the restaurants was great. Although usb ports for charging phones would have been a nice inclusion; the room contained anything else you could possibly need.
The temperature of the pool and the rooms in march were definitely a little cold in the morning and at night, but everything heated up by the afternoon.
The only real issue of the resort is the walk from it into town; not only is it long, but whilst we were visiting there was loud ongoing construction of a new property down the road making for a less than pleasant walk.

The check in took an incredible long time (the longest ever at a hotel) and the reception lady was not very helpful or welcoming.
I have book via expedia and was supposed to have 2 bathrooms, but the apartment ended up to have only one and no extensible sofa as in the description.
The only good point of this hotel was the breakfast and the staff attending it (really nice and helpful).

Royal Sun Resort is a lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Our apartment was big, clean, and very well equipped. The terrace was large , the hot tub was spacious, and the views....AMAZING! A panoramic view of the ocean, marina, and cliffs! The nearest beach, Los Guios, is quite small, but is spectacular.

Location and layout of hotel is outstabding. All rooms have oceanview with amaizing view of Los Gigantes mountains. We stayed at this place 2015 and 2020. The view is still there:) but hotels need a bit of a work. Bit better towels and linnens. Slight smell in the room. To the owners. If you guys address towels and linnens your place is unbittable in Los Gigantes. The view and terraces are breathtaking.

My husband and I had disappointed experience for so called 4-stars hotel. To start with the additional 3 euros for using the safe and 20 euros deposit for using the pool towels. The location has a nice view except the construction business outside the hotel which blocks the entrance and the cars coming close to the gate. Room service is minimal unless if you run behind them and ask for proper service. Room was very old, appliances were broken, Internet was bad. The suites has a gab to the passage area that we could hear every movement either by children running around or a long loud conversation by the housekeepers. We had a surprise, unannounced visit by two internet technicians to the room without permission.

I've stayed here twice in accommodation that has a very large balcony with table, chairs and loungers and a beautiful view of the sea to the front and the cliffs to the side. We had a kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster and coffee machine. As well as a shop on site, there is a big Aldi and smaller supermarket within walking distance. You are situated high up so walking down to the bars, marina, mini golf, pool complexes etc needs an amount of basic fitness - but we enjoyed the exercise and factor it in! Car hire is easy and we hired a car to explore and to visit Mount Teide which is worth a visit.

Lovely modern clean apartment with everything you needed for a self catering holiday, we were also given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise and made our stay. The dishwasher was broken and full of dirty water when we arrived but was resolved quickly after reporting it. Reception staff were great and breakfast was also very good. Second visit to this lovely Hotel. Had organised a personal transfer for me and my wife through The Royal Sun; driver was waiting for as as soon as we left the arrivals lounge and the journey took approx 40 min. “What a View”
Based on a recommendation from a friend, we chose Royal Sun Resort for our first visit to Los Gigantes. The hotel proved to be a very good choice. We loved the location on the top of the hillside, beneath the towering cliffs. We enjoyed the walks up and down the hill, but chose to get a taxi (3-4 Euros) in the evening after a few drinks and dinner. The views from all rooms/apartments are truly stunning. From our balcony (Room 119), we could look out over the town and harbour of Los Gigantes, and over to the island of La Gomera...fabulous!! The apartments are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Huge, comfortable beds in the bedrooms, with ample wardrobe spaces. Lounge, complete with 3-piece suite, and flat screen TV (with all four UK terrestrial channels). A functional kitchen with adequate self-catering facilities. The bathroom was large, complete with bidet, and walk-in shower. The staff are brilliant. Friendly, helpful, and thoroughly professional. Our accommodation was on a bed & breakfast basis, and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts in the dining room. The choices were endless, freshly prepared, and constantly replenished. We enjoyed our stay, and hope to return to the resort again in the future,

Wendy was an amazing reception staff when we checked in . She is British and fully understood our needs and very friendly. A great start to our hotel stay. When she was off duty the other hotel staff was less enthusiastic and seems bored at times. The room we got was amazing , newly renovated and the balcony was huge. Overlooking the whole of Los Gigantes with amazing views over the sea. We wanted somewhere quiet and this has been the perfect hotel for us. Even got bath robes, slippers. Room cleaning everyday which was welcomed, some other hotels only do this every few days.
The indoor pool was great for the kids and we swam every day.
All in all very happy and impressed with the whole hotel. Will definitely go back next time in tenerife.

We had a fabulous time at the Royal Sun, a range of flexible dining prices and reasonable prices for drink. Views were amazing, set in the hillside you can lay on your sunlounger overlooking the ocean. Lots gigantes is a nice base with a range of bars and restaurants without being too noisy. Plenty of trips and activities if wanted. We went diving with seascuba with 3 teenagers children and had a great experience. Would go back again

Those who don't like hills or inclines may want to use the many local taxis. We found it all ok even with shopping. Supermarkets are close by at the top and if you have no hire car then there are two within 10 mins walk. There is one on site too. The gym was good for a work out.

Views from this hotel were absolutely amazing. It was within walking distance of pubs, bars and the beach, but still quiet enough to really enjoy a relaxing stay. Only downsides were receptionists who were unecessarily rude and condescending on our first day, and the fabulous hot tub just didn't get warm enough in the evenings

The hotel was close enough to town to walk and far enough to have quiet times. The beds were way to hard and we could have used one more electric outlet in the kitchen. the balcony was excellent with good loungers and a spectacular view. Parking was no problem, getting around town was easy. We did have an issue with one of the grocery stores, LIDL in Los Gigantes short changed us at the cash, later to find out that it happens regularly. We rented a car and did lots of exploring of the island overall a great trip.

Very good resort, quite and very good views.helpful staff at the reception as well as at the restaurant. The entertainment both for kids and adults is good. Food is ok very few vegetarian options although lots of places to eat around (resort is at the top of the hill).

I'm really surprised that this hotel gets such good reviews, i can only assume the other reviewers had low expectations to begin with. On arrival we were greeted by Wendy (when i say greeted, i mean we were glared at. No help with luggage, some 4 star hotel! !). We realised very quickly that we were given the wrong room, we booked a room with a deep soaking tub (we have two small children so a bath was a necessity) but all we had was a shower. I went to tell Wendy this who rudely told me that only 4 rooms in the resort had a bath and even after showing her my contract was told 'well that is an arrangement our agents make with hotels.com, if we knew this was a special request from you we could have accommodated this'. She refused to accept that it wasn't a special request if it was on my contract!! She then made a song and dance about moving us to a 5th floor room (apparently you should pay more) but eventually we got our death trap of a bath. The room was always dirty (not daily housekeeping but every other day and even then they work to no fixed schedule) and we had to wear slippers all the time as your feet were black from the floor. Flies in the restaurant (onion rings and nuggets for breakfast!!) No dvd player, no memory foam bed. Just awful. The children's pool is always in shadow so it is hypothermia cold and the play areas are dirty little rooms with broken toys. The only upside is the balcony which is large and useful. Oh and the wifi doesn't work anywhere.

Loved this hotel. Excellent self catering facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. They had a problem with our room on the first night as glass had been broken, so they had to put us in a 2 bedroom apartment for one night. They gave us all a free breakfast and free car parking for the week for the inconvenience.

Staff in hotel are second to none, attentive and always willing to solve issues that arise. Accommodation is fantastic for the price. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. We had a nice stay here. The only thing I would mention is that the rooms should have AC as it was very hot. The nights were uncomfortable due to the heat. The hotel staff did provide us with 1 portable AC to help us out. Overall experience was good!

We stayed for a week at the end of May 2016. There was six of us sharing a two bedroom apartment. We had a great time, apartment was clean. Balcony was fantastic with a fabulous view. We stayed around the pool area during the day and drinks from the poolside bar which was really reasonable. There is a Lidl within walking distance of the hotel, although on the way it is downhill so we had to get a taxi back uphill. You can easily walk down to the marina area, but walking back up can be a struggle. There was a fantastic Chinese restaurant on the way down which I think was call Peking Garden and the food was delicious and so reasonable; in fact we went back on three occasions it was that good. We had a banquet for 5 people (there was actually 6 of us) plenty of food and very cheap.

All the good things said about the RSR are true, plus most rooms have had air con fitted along with updated light fittings, plus new walk in showers. All apartments have the same great views of the Atlantic. Prices are rising a bit but its still just about worth it.

Fantastic hotel and location.
The hotel is ideally situated above the harbor with fantastic views of the sea and Los Gigantes rocks. The hotel and the facilities are very good and value for money with taxis supplied to take you to the village or beach on a regular basis. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful giving us a warm welcome when we arrived.We have been coming to this part of the island for ten years and believe we have found the perfect place to stay and will come back later in the year.
