We had a family room, which was perfect for 3 adults. The hotel was in a great location, at the bottom of the hill that leads to the historic town centre. Easy access to both the bus and train station.

The property was listed as having parking if needed but when we got there, we were told that there was parking only for very small vehicles. We had to pay another 25 Euros for parking elsewhere and clerk at hotel was not helpful in assisting in finding parking.

Beautiful hotel in a great location.
No free parking available near the hotel but there is a free parking area about 1km away.
Food at breakfast was good but the menu is done in such a way that you can only order pre set combinations. In other words, if you want only fried eggs on toast, you pay for a full breakfast even though there’s at least another three or four items that you’re not getting.
I felt that was a tad over the top.

Location is close to shops, restaurants and historical areas. Staff was very helpfully and polite. Getting suitcases from parking garage to hotel is the only tricky part due to hills and no place to take out luggage in front of hotel due narrow street.

Great location hotel in Toledo

Two night stay with husband. Room although small was clean and bed comfortable. The main issue is the walls are not sound proof at all and both of our nights we were woken at about 2.30 am by noisy guests returning to their rooms( next door to us ) after being out late. We could even hear one snoring at 0700 . The hotel is in a great location but we wouldn’t stay there again due to disturbed sleep. The hotel parking is very difficult to access as roads very narrow. Our Toyota Yaris just got through so be warned if you drive anything bigger you will not get there.

Classic hotel in a great location…parking tricky

Our room was very clean and very nice. It even had TWO bathrooms. The location was within easy walking distance of all Toledo has to offer, what an incredible city!! There is nowhere to park at the hotel, though, so I recommend you make parking arrangements ahead of time.

The staff were great, the attached restaurant was good for breakfast. The air conditioning in the room barely worked so the room temperature was not comfortable. Other than that, everything else was good.

On the edge of the main part of where one visits all day but it’s a downhill walk at day’s end😉. Staff that checked me in was lovely. Room was clean and has well functioning air con which is a simple knob to turn to adjust-sounds like a funny thing to comment on, but after all the fiddling I’ve done in hotel rooms with various A/C panels, it was a welcome relief.
Nice to have coffee and breakfast option until 12:30 (plus other meals) downstairs.

Far from the sites but clean

The biggest complaint is that my wife was looking for a hotel ‘near’ sites dhe came to see in Toledo. As measured by mileage the listing could be considered accurate
But
As measured by proximity to sites the listing was misleading- as distances in this hilly old wonderful city are measure by walking time not on the ground distance
eg: the distance may be .3 km but it takes 20 minutes of uphill walking on cobblestone streets to get there
Not a problem if you are 25 yrs old - which we aren’t

Btw clean basic hotel but awful not worth it (even at the low cost) breakfast
I would be careful about booking in this city -as proximity to sites by time is a much more accurate measurement
And that metric is seemingly unavailable

A very good hotel easily found as it is located inside the city wall on one of the main arteries to the town. Unloading & loading of luggage is a problem as the road is only single lane in either direction on a bus route. Parking of our hire vehicle was also problematic because of its size we were directed to an underground car park some distance away at a slightly reduced overnight rate. The room was compact, clean with an en-suite bathroom, somewhat noisy because of the road but for 1 night perfectly acceptable.
Breakfast although not included, was very good indeed with a good choice of everything at 15 euros per couple including cooked bacon & eggs.
Toledo itself is enchanting only wish we could have stayed longer to explore more of what it has to offer.

Hotel right next to the sungate and so super-central. Hotel very quiet although on the main road. Staff available. Free parking can be found next to the main bridge (on the left before crossing bridge into town) around 10 to 15 mins from hotel. Small and no fridge, but overall very good.

THE NIGHT MANAGER MADE THE DIFFERENCE!

My business travels can be pretty solitary unless fate places a helpful angel in my path. This has come in the form of hotel or travel staff and at the Hotel Real in Toledo this was really the case. The super-helpful , intellegent and honest night manager Juan made my stay a very positive experience as he pointed out things to do and NOT DO. He advised me on getting around and places relevant to my trip. He listened to my trip goals and was honest about what was worth spending $ on. When a torrential rainstorm happened, he assured me that it was only temporary. It was. The hotel location was great. Yeah a blanket would have been nice but it's Summer - most hotels don't think its necessary. For a budget hotel this is fine. Safe and well located. Toledo is amazing. Spend your money on food and culture and give this modest place a shot.

Good basic hotel with access to transportation from train station and near enough to sites.
Toledo is wonderful, especially if you love art. Don't miss the Caravaggio in the Cathedral! The highlight was to take a taxi out to a vantage point after sunset and look over the town...magical!

Clean safe comfortable rooms. All staff are great.
No kettle in the rooms, and no chance of a decent cuppa in the restaurant/bar, but that is typical of non-Brit-touristy Spain rather than the hotel.
TOP TIP. Don't choose the breakfast option in advance for 8 euros, they have a breakfast menu starting from 2 euros which is amazing value.
The bar has a fantastic selection of craft beers.
I would happily stay here again.

Beautiful old building definitely adds to the experience of being in Toledo. Room was spacious and updated. Restaurant within the building was perfect for an affordable breakfast or round of drinks.

Excellent location when you have a car to park

This hotel location is fantastic when you arrive by car and you need parking. It's just at the beginning of the old city, so you can visit everything on foot AND you can park the car easily. You won't have to navigate in the small alleys of the old town with the car (we used the city parking : we had a discount with the hotel and it's about 5 min. of walk. Better to drop the luggage in front of the hotel, and then go to park the car). We were 3, we asked for a double and a single bed, and that's just what we got. The room was very large, clean and we even had 2 bathrooms!

Nice hotel close to old city gate

It's pleasant, no hassle overnight stay. There were not many travelers when we stayed in late May so it was quite. Window had very good cover so we can sleep in to recover from jet lag. Decoration is simple but good enough for a night stay. Bathroom is very clean and good show.

Wonderful Hotel Experience

This extremely nice hotel is located in an ideal setting inside the city walls. The room was ample and clean. The bathroom beautifully appointed with even a bidet, but I think this is usual in Spain. There is also a conventional telephone, which I think, with the new communication technologies is disappearing from some hotels.
The staff was extremely professional and friendly. The room was quiet and with a wonderful view of the rooftops and the Hospital de Tavera, (not a hospital for the last three hundred years, but a wonderful palace, museum, church). All in all I personally will do my best to secure a room in this hotel in my next visit to Toledo.

Nice at a fair price, but some issues

Staff at Real de Toledo was friendly & helpful. Room was clean and very well equipped including a bidet. Try to avoid rooms with windows on the air shaft. Although they are quieter (less street noise) ventilation is not great. The air shaft had nice tiled walls and potted plants, but... Also we could never get the thermostat to activate the AC after the first time it went on. The Real is very conveniently located near bus route to Pl. Zocodover (city center) and to main bus station. It's also an easy walk to Pl. Z. and its attractions. No complimentary breakfast. Toledo's streets are narrow and crowded, so outside noise is a fact of life. I think the Real's location trumps this issue. Overall, clean and pleasant, good value for money, but a few minor glitches.

Much better than I expected, having read the previous reviews. The multi-layer windows/shutters kept the load street noise out. The room was basic, but clean. There was TV (few channels). Located at the base of the hill, just inside the gates of the old city. 5 minute walk to the main square and a 20 minute walk to the train station. My only complaint was that the AC didn't work too well at night. Overall, a very good value.

Great rooms, location close to the Mirador and Main Plaza. 2 convenience stores a few steps away. Our GPS located their address on opposite side of the street. Avoid their parking unless you have a SMART car. My Ford Fiesta was 1/2\"from being wrecked on both sides when driving to their gated garage! Had my daughter and my sister guiding me in/out. The way to their garage has 2 extremely tight right angle turns where someone was injured by tourists trying to get in/out. Park in the city parking if you don't have a tiny car or if you plan on driving around. We left the car in their garage the entire time (€10/day). Go for the €7.50 AYCE breakfast; it was worth it. If you want authentic Toledean food go to El Corralito (near the plaza up the street), what a hidden gem! For €12 their \"Menu del Dia\" includes partridge salad, Deer stew, quails, etc. dessert and wine/beer. If taking the city bus tour, €5 gives you a one-route while €9 gives you unlimited hop-on/off stops. You only need the first one. Toledo is not that big and their main town is all in one spot that you could walk/tour in 2 hours.

The hotel and neighbours should increase the clearance for cars into their driveway.

We stayed two nights and had plenty of time to check out all of Toledo. The hotel was an easy walk. They do have parking for a fee but if you plan on renting a car it must be a mini car or you can't fit down the street.

Pleasant enough hotel for an overnight stay on our way to Puerto Banus, made all the better for being right in the heart of the old city itself so we had a little time to explore this lovely town. Nothing luxurious but clean and the staff were helpful.

Inconsiderate staff.

Overall it's OK, You get what you pay for. But just a little attention can make or break your experience as a guest in the hotel. Runing out of time we decided to have breafast in the hotel. Victor, the breakfast room attendant, which was last night receptionist, let us sit and start our breakfast and in less then 5 minutes he cleared the buffet saying \"sorry it's time to close the buffer\". If he advised us that we had only 5 miniutes we would have bought breakfast out of the hotel.

Un Hotel muy lindo con todo lo necesario. Su restaurante muy rico. Nos toco una habitación cuadruple con dos baños y eso nunca nos habia pasado en Europa. En Toledo todos los Hoteles estan bien ubicados porque todo se hace caminando, sin embargo tambien se tiene que considerar el taxi ya que para el mirador, que es impresindible, si se necesita ir en auto. Si vas con niños y/o adultos mayores es una ciudad algo pesada para ellos por las cuestas.. solo todo se hace un poco mas lento
