It was an OK stay

A nice stay, room is okay and the stuff were helpful.
However, i don’t recommend to take a breakfast as it has no variety at all.
The internet was extremely slow, i couldn't work or use it properly unfortunately.

Smoking is allowed in the hallways by the elevator So you need a room away from this if you don’t smoke. Breakfast needs to be improved for 4 stars. Overall ok.

I didn't like the front desk girl at the check in. She was looking at her computer without getting any attention to us. Even she knows we are standing by for the check in. Even didn't bother to say Hi. Also after handling her the reservation through expedia informed us has to wait because the reservation isn't in the system yet. We have a paper printed reservation shewed it to her but insisted to wait instead of check us in and get the details later on.

The decor was unique—old-fashioned in contrast to so many contemporary hotels. They kindly upgraded us to an Executive suite so we had lots of room. Most importantly, the room was incredibly quiet despite being in the middle of Hamra. Staff were very friendly and spoke English very well.

In my 5th days into my 1 month stay, I had a life emergency that dictated I have to run back home to Montreal (Wife developed brain metastasis and was about to undergo emergency brain surgery). I contacted the Expedia team, and they wonderfully found a plane flight for me the next day to come back home (at no extra cost or penalty). The expedia team tried to ask the hotel for a refund or at least a voucher for the remainder 3 weeks that I did not stay in the hotel but I was absent,, Golden Tulip Serenda Hotel chose to profit for my misery and refused everything. SHAME on Golden Tulip. Expedia well advised to drop this hotel from their client list.

Stayed here as it was near a conference I was attending. They're obviously trying, there's a lot of earnest follow up but the hotel is quite loud with very thin walls. The staff were all friendly and courteous. Breakfast is not very good, and although the Lebanese food from the attached restaurant is very good, some guests may prefer some international choices on room service as well. The local area is great though, lots of bars and restaurants and shops. Apart from the noise, the room itself was comfortable if a little dated and faded. One thing to note though, hotel wifi is TERRIBLE. This is partly due to infrastructure issues in Beirut.

The hotel is in a perfect location at the heart of Hamra street . but it is noisy hotel due to the wedding Hall and night resturant they have with loud live music . the free wifi they provide is suck . very slow in a way that you can't even watch youtube or watsup video. When I complained they offer me premium internet at extra $20 which is not acceptable at all . they have to provide good wifi for free like most of hotels un Beirut.

Classic hotel in the center of Hamra

I first stayed here in the fall of 2010 and am pleased to see that the Serenada is aging with grace. The hotel is well maintained and the staff nice. Special mention to the excellent 7th floor Eden Spa.

The Golden Tulip is located close to the main Hamra street ...a perfect location for bars, restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean, large and luxurious with everything you need. The staff are friendly. Only thing we found disappointing was the quality of the food from room service which arrived in plastic containers and didnt fit with the high level/image of the hotel. Overall though a very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location in Hama, near restaurants etc. very helpful staff. Rooms are really big and wifi strong. I'd stay there again and would recommend Beirut as a city break. It has great weather, culture, food and friendly people. The downtown area has been rebuilt and is amazing.

Great Stay at the Golden Tulip

Our stay at the Golden Tulip was great overall. The room was pristine, and incredibly comfortable. There were a few broken fittings in the bathroom, and the quality of the 24h room service food was a bit disappointing, however the experience was great. The hotel was generous enough to allow a later checkout so we could enjoy the room for a bit longer.

4 star hotel in the middle of Beirut

Cute hotel in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Beirut. Overall experience was disappointing. They didn't allow us to keep the beer/wine bottle opener during our stay, it was noisy in the vicinity of the hotel, and when we checked out we were going to be charged for the nights we already paid for! We told the front desk about this mistake and they corrected it on the check-out bill.

I wouldn't stay there again.

I enjoyed the hotel and its clean well organized rooms. However, the hotel charged us to pay for phone calls that we did not do and it took us a while to convince them to pay us back the money. The staff were not helpful at all when it came to guidance for what to do in the city.

Many fancier hotels in Beirut but for one third the price of some of them it is definitely a much better value. My room was very clean, the staff is friendly and the location is convenient. The only problem I had was noise, both from the street and neighbors.

The staff was lovely & extremely helpful. The hotel offers the standerds we are used to in the US. Food, pharmacies, restaurant, Starbucks, supermarkets, & shopping right next to the hotel in each deriction. The hotel has a gym & full service salon. The hotel was built in the sixties with an old Europein vibe, but the rooms are remodeld with all the aminties I expect to have for what I paid for. Internet service was great, view, belcony, AC, quality mattress, safe, mini fridge, etc......

Solid hotel, watch out for internet charges

I stayed at the Golden Tulip for one day - had been staying @ a fancier place and wanted to be in Hamra. Hotel staff was nice, and the room pretty good. Amenities in the bathroom were okay - I opted to use the soaps/etc I bought as I appreciate more quality. Bed was reasonable, and there was a fair amt of space.

The main downside - I bought internet service for 1 day. I used the code for my computer and later wanted to use the code for my BB. I consulted the front desk, explained the situation, and they provided another code. In the end, they charged me for the internet twice - b/c I used 2 codes. The front desk person said there was nothing he could do. I was quite disappointed by this.

Other than this unpleasant experience, I'd say this hotel is \"solid\" meaning a reasonable place to sleep and good if you don't intend to be in the room much.

The management have clearly got everything running extremely smoothly and when requests were made they were always met and in a very short timespan. Amazing place to enjoy your business trip or vacation

I would go back again. The location is great, restaurants, cafes, shopping all within reach. Receptionists, house keeping, Gym instructor all wonderful. Great ambiance.

One important recommendation I would like to add of which will benefit the hotel is adding sofas and seats for residents of hotel to enjoy sitting in when waiting for someone or even when sipping coffee or having a snack. I think that this idea would give the reception area more of a uppe rscale look rather than chairs and tables currently filling the area for breakfast, dinner and lunch time. Breakfast, dinner and lunch should be served in the restaurant beside the reception area only.
