Overall it was a good experience. However the bathroom is as small as it could possibly be and we had issues with the toilet the sink and the bidet leaking water.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, my son loved the porridge.
We ordered most everything from the room service menu. My wife said the oxtail soup was awful, the meet was hard and chewy and the portion sizes for the chicken and French fries was very small.
However I would say it has a great location, right next to Krishna store (if you are in to souvenirs) There was a laundry service close by as well as plenty of restaurants. Also the Trans-studio mall was just a 5 min walk to the back entrance.
The rooftop pool was nice, eventhough we only used it once.

I enjoyed my stay, the price was good and the staff nice, room was cleaned frequently !

Negatives would be, breakfast variety got boring, floor in my room was damaged which made it look unappealing, many nights it sounded like someone was constantly running through the hallway though this could be put down to bad neighbours, occasionally a weird smell.

nice hotel and lovely staff. on a main road and we couldn't find that much around to eat unless a taxi to somewhere. nice rooftop pool too, however, it desperately needs a clean. Floor is so slippy both in and out the pool, slimy tiles, we didn't want to touch any walls or floors in the pool. A shame because everything else in this hotel was spot on.

You get what you pay for

Hotel was clean but there is a distinct \"bad Chinese food\" smell in the rooms. It comes and goes during the night and isn't bad enough to complain, but if you are sensitive to smells then this hotel is not for you. The hotel is relatively inexpensive and you get what you pay for.

Great place for a short stay in Kuta

A nice place fora few nights in Kuta before we headed inland to Ubud. The location is pretty good being not far from Legian Road and have a good selection of restaurants nearby.

Be prepared for a bit of noise as it is on a very busy main road.

The infinity pool on the top floor is very nicely done. We were up here have a glass of wine to celebrate my birthday and the staff did an impromptu happy birthday song and brought be a cake.

Wifi was a little hit and miss but good enough for what we wanted it for.

Overall good value for money.

Disappointing

On arrival, room did not look like the photos. The patio doors did not shut, and the room smelt damp, probably due to the heat outside and the coolness of the room.
Eventually both were sorted but wasn't off to a good start.
Breakfast was not good.
The room was clean but needs a facelift.
The pool was great, couldn't be faulted and the staff in all areas of the hotel were great!

Cheap, good value for money,

Staff were very good, hotel was very clean and tidy, it was excellent value for money. Not really in walking distance to anywhere of interest, but taxis close by and plentiful, and it was convenient to the airport. Overall a good experience, would stay again.

Great value for money! Rooftop pool is a winner

For a very cheap price you get a decent sized room, a great location and access to their awesome rooftop pool. We loved going there for a morning swim and it was even more amazing at night as it just had such a great atmosphere. Staff were lovely, the food was decent but the room could have been a bit cleaner. It is located on a main road so it is easy to hail down a taxi. Avoid asking the hotel for a taxi as they usually give you a fixed rate that is overpriced.

Best Service by the hotel

This is the only hotel that we will stay whenever we are in Bali.
You get the best service from all the staff. The hotel is also very near to the airport and Kuta beach.

It's ok. But if you're into beaches and the busy streets of kuta/legian, better to book another hotel near the area. Yes its a walking distance but there is no proper pedestrian and crossings. I had to take cab whenever. Welcome drink is good. I have stayed in 3 other hotels in Bali, and in terms of the hotel service, this hotel was the least polite. (Take note that least polite -- not impolite)

We were there coz we missed our flights so had to stay near airport to catch next flight in the morning
But if you stayed in 5 stars
Don't even bother
Rooms are very small
No balcony
you cant even open the windows
Because they are locked
So very suffocating
but definitely go ahead if you are looking for budget accomodation!

Disappointing Experience

My fiancé and I booked this hotel for two nights over my birthday weekend. We arrived at the hotel a bit early (12:30pm) knowing we may have to wait till two for our room to be ready. However when we arrived we were told that they no longer had a room for us and would transfer us to another hotel for the night. Then we were kindly reminded that check in was not till two - thanks that still doesn't change the fact that you gave our room away! We sat in the lobby waiting for about two hours without anyone telling us what was going on. We were offered a coffee which never came. Finally we were taken to another hotel down the road. We were picked up the next day after waiting another hour for them to answer the phone so we could let them know we were ready. The room was comfortable enough however the hairdryer didn't work and looked like it would catch fire. After numerous calls to the front desk we got a clothes iron but no ironing board. Other than that the pool was great which we basically had it to ourselves. Could have been a great stay but one thing after another happened and it ruined the experience.

Noisy hotel, you can hear road traffic, car park on one side of the hotel with noisy cab drivers and building works on the other. Housekeeping don't replace toilet paper you have to ask for it. Pool is lovely and breakfast is ok.

The only thing I didn't like is the noise comes to your Room from the rooms next door ,, I was disturbed few times at night by the noise from other rooms,

Hotel was affordable, stayed here for 8 nights and it was comfortable.

Its a simple hotel, with the sky pool on the top floor, and a dining area on the bottom floor. The sky view is very ordinary and nothing spectacular, Yet a view nethertheless.

The rooms are comfortable, the television reception was substandard though.

My husband and I went to Bali from the USA and Atanaya was the perfect hotel choice. It's clean, great location, beautiful, the staff are awesome, the pool on the rooftop is one of a kind and the food there is simply incredible. The bathroom is so clean and the shower is amazing too. I would suggest ANYONE GOING TO BALI TO STAY HERE. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE UPSET WITH YOUR CHOICE. My husband and I are going to go back one day! It was truly a one of a kind experience & it's perfect for couples! The manager and hotel staff were very hospitable and did not want us to leave. When you stay at Atanaya it feels like a home. The other visitors are so friendly as well. The love there is amazing. Thank you Atanaya!!!

Stayed for three nights during the Easter break. Location is away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta, but is ideal for trips from/to everywhere on the island.

Room was well appointed with international TV channels and everything worked as expected. Wi-Fi reception was excellent and there was even a computer downstairs if you needed one.

Buffet breakfast was a mixture of Western and Indonesian cuisine. There was also a pastry shop by reception.

There were two spas within walking distance and a Starbucks, McDonald's, and an ice-creamery just a tad further up the busy thoroughfare.

The hotel provided a private Ngurah Rai airport pick-up/drop-off service, which was quite handy. The place served as an ideal base and proved to be excellent value for money.

Integrity is the Key

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still demand to be treated with integrity by those with whom I do business. I had been at the hotel for 20 days. I needed to extend for 1 more day. The front desk assured me that direct booking was cheaper (as opposed to on-line) and that they would offer me a very special rate based on the length I had already stayed. They offered me one night for the special rate of USD$50.00. Thing was, the on-line price, which I had already checked, was USD$24.00. They lied straight to my face. I will never return. By the way, they are close to nothing. Every thing is a USD$20.00 cab ride away. If they have a shuttle, I never saw it. So when you calculate that wonderful price for the room. Add $20.00 for transportation every time you walk out the front door (if you have your own scooter, obviously, this does not apply).

I ordered a taxi from reception 2 nights before required for a 5-30am departure to the airport. On checking the following night I checked and was told that the taxi was not ordered because taxis would not come at that early hour. I cannot believe this is so in Bali. I was not happy that I was not told at my initial booking. I was forced to pay Rp100,000 for the hotel car. Was this a set up? On return to my room after a day out at about 6-30pm, my room had not been cleaned. I was not a happy guest.

The room was clean and the service was great. We asked for an extra pair of slippers and the request was fulfilled the next day. The hotel staff would move from table to table during breakfast to seek our feedback and offer suggestions on where to go and what to do in Bali. There is a free transport to Legian that leaves at 1 pm and 7 pm daily.

Our hotel experience with Atanaya was amazing. We spent a total of 9 nights and loved every minute of it. From when we arrive we were given 1st class service. The location of the hotel is great as it's not in the party area of Bali and you can quietly relax, even though it is a 10 minute drive to there.

The rooms are spacious and adequate for 2 people. Everything was clean, beds, shower, etc. The AC is the real winner as it kept the room nice and chilly.

The hotel staff are very professional and very friendly! They are always smiling and it is a great addition to Atanaya.

The breakfast served is also great. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from ranging from western and balinese.

The infinity pool on the rooftop is a great place to chill out and have a drink.

Everything was better than expected. Hotel staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. Food was good. Hotel very clean and rooms kept to a high standard. Bedding changed daily, not weekly. Any requests were dealt with quickly and professionally. A definite \"would come back\" sort of place. Sufficiently outside of main Kuta to be quieter, but close enough to get there in minutes by Scooter or by taxi. Taxi ride only AUD$2 each way! Also easy access to main roads for anyone wanting to explore.
Highly recommended.

After so many good reviews we felt this place was a bit of a let down. Check in was mechanical rather than friendly and we were told we were too early for check in which was normally 2 p.m. Fair enough but this is rarely an issue in Indonesia. We have been to Bali many times and the English spoken by the hotel staff was unusually poor. After a wait our room was ready. It was ok but the hotel has a cheap and plasticky feel and construction. At the moment not a problem as it is new, but scuffed wallpaper was being painted over to hide marks for example and it may not wear well.The pool area was not clean. There is a good roof top pool but the surrounds were dirty. Food was average. The surrounding area is poor. It is well out of town on the busy dual carriageway \" Sunset road\" and there is little around a part from the dreadful Krisna Mall next door. Billed as a handicraft mall it was full of tat for the tourist buses that came in all day. All in all it had a bit of an American motel feel to the hotel. We would not return.

Great hotel! Meets expectations!

I came to stay at the Atanaya from 19 to 23 August 2013 with my friends. Upon arrival, my friends and I were quite pleased with the clean and well-maintained conditions of the place and we could really see that it was a relatively brand new hotel.

The staff were very friendly and honest, never failing to greet us whenever they see us throughout our stay. The facilities offered such as the rooftop swimming pool were also present, as mentioned in the hotel descriptions. Wi-Fi was available in our rooms - though the connection wasn't stable - it had fair to good strength.

The location of the hotel is not really a problem as it was quite central in Kuta. We could reach Galeria for shopping or Kuta Beach for relaxing within 10 to 20 minutes respectively by taxi, depending on the traffic.

The surrounding neighbourhood doesn't really offer anything in terms of views but the nearby convenience stores, ATM machines and fast food restaurants and cafés were adequate enough to satisfy our needs.

Thank you Atanaya for making our virgin 5-day stay in Bali a really pleasant one!

Taxi needed all the time !!

First time in Bali wasn't a good experience with this hotel. I arrived in Bali early morning expecting to be met by hotel shuttle but they didn't turn up so eventually got a taxi to hotel and told reception they couldn't of cared less. I paid for an executive room but was put in a double. No hot water for shower. It was the noisiest hotel with kids screaming and running up and down the corridors breakfast was an ordeal with the same kids. I booked in for 9 days but left after 3 days. Unlucky to have been booked in at the same time as unruly kids but my holiday just as important.

I stayed at the Atanaya hotel for the first night. It is an excellent hotel, perfect if you have a mode of transport as it is a little bit further from the main shopping/food district and the beach. The service is fantastic although the staff speak minimal english, which can be a slight struggle. The room itself was fantastic especially for the price paid. The bed was comfortable and room very clean. The breakfast that was included was excellent with a mix of western and indonesian style food for offer. It is a buffet style and food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again if I came with a group of people and had rented a scooter or car.

Over all it's a decent place to stay, the disadvantages are as follows: the hotel sits on very buys road, the noise is constant, in order to get to Kuta, you have to rent a car or motorbike, there are no good restaurants close by. Being inside the building reminded me a corporate hotel, without much character or resemblance of Balinese culture. The advantages are: it's a new hotel, the stuff is well trained, reasonably prices (not expansive), the breakfast was well made with large variety of different dishes to choose from.

Friendly staff, awesome pool, fantastic breakfast!

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Very accommodating when I requested for a small chocolate cake to be arranged in the room after check in to celebrate my husband's birthday. The rooftop pool is super cool too! Love it! The daily breakfast has a good range of food and is tasty too. A downside to staying there is that the walls are thin and the extremely loud traffic noise is very disturbing to one's rest. This is despite staying on the highest floor on the fifth level. The floor was also quite dirty when we first stepped into the room and we had to wash our feet before wearing the slippers provided. Perhaps the room has not been occupied for some time prior to our stay. The safe deposit box was also spoilt but that was quickly remedied with a replacement.

The Worst

Worst hotel I've stayed in while traveling around the world gf had her hair turn green from the pool and the staff took 2 days to respond to us and basically argued it was not their pool. Horrible experience and did ruin the end of what was a nice holiday in Bali. One of the reasons given to us about my gf's green hair was it only happend to her because she is blonde and that we were their first western guests, i had to explain to them they will have many blonde guests in the future so they shoul sort it out and sort out the way in which prpblems are dealt with. They finally offered us 2 nights free which we still have not revieved the refunded money after 2 weeks.Very disappointed about the treatment we received would never recommend this hotel to anyone.AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!

Great hotel, great location, really friendly!

Overall an awesome hotel, breakfast was perfect between the western dishes and the local dishes. Pool on the roof was different with a nice view of the city and streets. Rooms are comfortable and very clean.

The staff are really helpful and very courteous. Shout to Andri and Agus and the rest of the reception who made me feel at home always willing to help me out. Stayed for 5 nights, will definately stay again when in kuta

Best hotel for service, friendliness and food.

The positives outweighed the negatives. Positive: A very nice little hotel with very friendly and helpful staff that were always more than obliging to help us in every way they could. Very quiet at night, which was important to us. Breakfast on offer was excellent with something for everyone. Negatives: Room and ensuite could have been a little bigger and it would have been nice if the doors to the outside opened up. The shower design was very bad as everytime we had a shower, the bathroom floor flooded. All in all very good value for money, especially having \"Krisna\" next door. We complained about the noise coming from the Krisna and the very next day it was quite. The Hotel was quiet at all times. Thank you everyone, especially the food and beverages under manager, the person who made different animals out of the towels everyday, when our room was cleaned and the cook who went out of their way to be nice to us.

hotel experiences in a brand new hotel in Bali

This is a new hotel build near a very very busy road. At the reception it was almost impossible to hear what the staff was telling me.The hotel is outside of Kuta so you always have to take a taxi.

At breakfast I ordered a cappuccino witch I had to pay for and the staff phoned me about it, they came to the room when I had lunch they came to ask if I wanted to pay for the coffee now. I found this very disturbing and would suggest put it on the room bill and ask to pay for it when the guest checks out.
It is a hotel for tourist so I think the staff should be trained to speak English

had a nice, chilled vibe and we were very relaxed

We loved this hotel, the service, quality of food/drinks was impeccable. Security helped us get taxis into town and the staff helped us organise our extra day trips through Expedia. It had a nice, chilled atmosphere and we were very relaxed at the hotel.

We had to get a taxi everywhere but it was very cheap. With Bluebird taxis it costs around 30000 rupiah ($3) to get to Kuta and around the same to get to Seminyak.
We highly recommend only getting Bluebird taxis as they use a pay-meter, they wont rip you off and I think they are actually the only genuine taxi rank in Bali.

If we went back to Bali in the future we would most definitely return to this Hotel.

Very much recommended!

Atanaya is a lovely small hotel, a bit away from the noise and hassle of Kuta area. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable it was. The staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast of Balinese food was excellent, the rooftop pool a great place to relax at the end of each busy, hot day.

I just came back from Bali for a family holiday. Couldn't wait any longer to start a glowing review about this faboluosly managed hotel.
We planned our stay in this hotel for 4 nights.Atanaya by far defines a new standard of customer satisfaction.i like this hotel since it is located not far from the airport and it is just beside Krisna shop , where you could buy Bali's traditional souvenirs .The management clearly understands how to satisfy their guests.Their staff (all of them: the porters, housekeepers, receptionists, restaurant staff, managers, basically everyone that we meet during our stay) are extremely warm and very attentive to the guests' needs. Miss have managed to make our stay a truly memorable one.
The rooms are spotless clean and very well-appointed. And not forgetting their roof-top swimming pool is definitely something not to be missed. The rooftop area compliments guests with magnificent view and a very cosy environment.Atanaya has far exceeded my expectation. And I couldn't be any happier during my stay there. Indeed, the Complimentary Wifi is helping me to get connections with my friends during my trip in Bali. I will strongly suggest to visit Atanaya Bali, stay there and enjoy!!
Only Thing that annoyed me was the noise due to Water Pump running at 2am and making a humming noise on level6 swimming pool. Hotel staff did move us to level 2 from level 5 but still vehicles passing by the roadside created a lot of noise.

Great service but thin walls

The staff was very pleasant, accommodating and warm right from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Breakfast choices were pretty decent, though the quality was average. They have an omelette station where a chef cooks an omelette with fillings the way you want it. The only drawback was that the walls were very thin, and in the morning you could hear the shuffling of feet of people walking in the corridor, the soft playing of music even the ringing of door bells! The price and service rendered more than made up for it overall.

We werent advised the hotel didnt have a licence to sell alcohol. Service of the staff was outstanding. Pool area was beautiful. Need some shade tho.

New, clean hotel

The hotel is new so the rooms are clean and beautiful. The size if the bed is great. Only downer on this hotel is the location- you have to catch a cab to go anywhere. Also, I didn't really like the room service menu- there was no westernized food and the hotel did not sell cocktails.

Good basic hotel with nice swimming pool on the roof. Taxi drivers have better luck getting there if you tell to go to krishna.
