We were really looking forward to our stay at Bloo Bali Hotel, but unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. The pictures we saw online were misleading, particularly regarding the room’s lighting and space. We booked a room for four people, but it was cramped with no closet or storage space. The mirrors in the room were warped, making it difficult to use them. To make matters worse, the air vents were leaking ash or dust, which was unsettling.

Housekeeping was another major issue. During our stay, the rooms were not properly cleaned. Housekeeping simply made the beds with the same sheets for our entire stay, and on some days, they didn’t even show up. Towels weren’t replaced, and the old ones were left hanging. They didn’t wipe down tables or take out the trash unless it was literally on the floor and in the way.

The noise was unbearable, with a loud live band playing rock music until 3 AM most nights right across the street. The hotel wasn’t upfront about this or other issues, like the single room key policy and potential extra charges for lost keys or stained sheets.

While the room was fair— meaning no bugs and had hot running water, it didn’t match our expectations. The complimentary iced tea and WiFi were nice, but not enough to make up for the overall experience.

On a brighter note, we did enjoy the location being fairly close to amazing food and Seminyak Beach. The front desk was also very nice, however, this stay wasn’t ideal for what was advertised.

The hotel offered excellent value for money, the room was good, the Aircon worked properly and the shower was hot. The swimming pool was great. Downside things were, the shower floor was very slippy when wet and the noise of the music from the restaurant next door could be heard at night.

Good location, nice room, bit noisy at night

This was a beautiful room and nice bathroom, comfortable bed and spacious room. But there was a lot of noise from a club nearby till 3am. The hotel restaurant is very good and good prices. Staff was a bit delayed on check in. Decent hotel pool.

Overall good stay aside from the noise at night. It’s about a 5 min bike taxi to main Katu beach. Wifi was so so.

Stayed here for a month and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious and clean and staff always helpful and friendly. Great location with easy access between Kuta Beach, Double Six, Legian and Seminyak. The only drawbacks were the constant music every night. I stayed for a month so after the first week I started to tune it out unless it was just awful singing or extra loud. The wifi never worked but I didn’t mind because I worked from a coworking space that was nearby. Lastly the on-site restaurant was closed but there is a limited room service menu and breakfast is available.

Decent hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean with bottled water, coffee/tea replenished daily. Wifi okay but often intermittent or non-existent. Ants in the room which increased daily although I didn't leave food lying around. My room was unfortunately located right near the busy street with a restaurant that had live music nightly which ended at midnight. Would be good if the hotel soundproofed those particular wall for future guests.

Plenty of restaurants along the same road and a couple of good coffee and breakfast across the road. A good walk to Legian/ Kuta or a quick taxi ride to Seminyak areas.

Great customer service. I didn't find the beds overly comforting but that can come down to individual preferences. Wifi is really bad. The air con unit began to drop water into the room (filter probably hasn't been cleaned in awhile) and this led to me slipping over in the room. Staff were helpful in assisting me but it did leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after this

OUR STAY AT THE SUNSET WAS MOSTY OK ONLY BIG ISSUE IS TOILET PAPER ALWAYS HAD TO BE AASKED FOR AS RUN OUT. NO WESTERN TOURIST I KNOW EXPECTS A BUFFET BREAKFAST WITH ONLY 6 DIFFERENT NODDLES TO CHOOSE FROM AND IF I HAD NOT ASKED, YOU ARE NOT EVEN OFFERED AN OMLETTE.SPICY CHICKEN AND A VARING CHOICE OF PLAIN SMALL PASTRY DEPENDING ON DAYS, CORN FLAKES AND CHOCOLATE SHINGLES WITH MILK IS BASICLY ONLY WESTERN BREAKFAST ON OFFER GREAT IF YOU ARE ASIAN BUT AS MANY AUSSIES HOLIDAY IN INDONESIA VERY POOR!!!!!!!

Needs an update

This hotel is very cheap but comes at a cost as rooms are old and a little dirty. The wifi is patchy and the bathroom is not the best.

Staff are great and the location is handy but not really walking distance to kuta or seminyak shopping.

Overall it's a hotel for the boys

Hotel staff are amazing. The rooms are very clean.

Hotel food is very good and quite affordable.

Towels sometimes disappear and maybe aren't the cleanest. If possible, bring your own towels.

Was not happy with room on arrival. Bed sheets were dirty and hairs in the shower. Bed and pillows not that comfortable.

The food was nice not so much breakfast. And the portions are really small. The stay was okay and did have what I needed. Not much room around the pool saw a few rats.

Staff were all lovely apart from the main woman receptionist thought she was quite rude!!

The noise of the other guests was bad some nights and again very rude.

Room was not the cleanest.

We stayed there for a night. We found a cockroacke and a spider in our room. It was more like a hostel than a hotel. For the price you're better off staying somewhere cleaner. The bar at the bottom was loud and noisy and filled with locals. Not the greatest area. Wouldn't recommend it.

Good for the price.

At $20 a night, this is a good place to stay. Located on Jalan Dewi Sri, the road outside is very busy and with the lack of pavement it can be hard to walk into town. Its easy enough to hail a cab from out front but don't take any other taxi than Bluebird (there are many fakes) and insist on a metre before you get in. Also ask for a pool side room as you can hear the road from there. The room was a bit worn but good shower and good breakfast and ok wifi. All in all, a good deal for the price.

The experience

This hotel is not bad, I got ground floor next to swimming pool. Service generally good most of the staff helpful in particular receptionist called Dedek who has been accommodating to my request.
The room is big so as the bathroom except there's no bathtub.
The breakfast/dining room is well lit but the breakfast choices were very limited. Only one choice of cereals. If you are late for breakfast you may ended eating leftover and no replenishment. Compensating factor you get omelette on order.
The room was not sound proof so you can hear lots of noise from outside.
The swimming pool is cold, probably good if heated.

Was a pleasant stay. Hotel staff was friendly.breakfast was a bit spicy for us and the menu was almost the same for the 2 days we stayed there. Overall stay was good, rooms were clean but air-cooler was not cold enough..would recommend to install air-cooler in the lobby.

I didn't drink the tea okay!!!

All the staff were polite and helpful but on the last day the cleaner forgot to replace the green tea in the noisy room fridge. I didn't care at the time but when I checked out at 10pm, having paid for the room and breakfast for the remainder of the night, they were sure that I was lying to them and trying to get out of paying a very small amount. Given that I had forfeited a nights accommodation plus prepaid breakfast, for my own benefit granted, and eaten several times at their fairly mediocre restaurant I was surprised. In the end I said I'll pay because I needed to get to the airport and couldn't be bothered listening to the receptionist insist that I had drunk the tea. So for the sake of two dollars they have lost a customers including the person who recommended the Sunset in the first place.

This hotel should be listed 4 star. The location is so easy to get around. Next door is the best aestetics clinic in indonesia. Restaurant is clean, & excellent menu. Price is reasonable. The hotel is very clean, great price & definitely worth the price if not more.
I am a repeat guest & sure to return again

For what you pay it's pretty good, just basic studio type room, 1 English speaking TV channel. Friendly staff, nice pool, restaurant food was nice and reasonably priced for hotel pricing. Location not great if you want to walk to places but cheap enough to get a cab anyway. Overall a nice experience

Had a lovely ground floor room with access to the pool. Very few western clients and if you wanted an American breakfast you had to order it separately. It was quite a small serve and the staff could not quite understand that we wanted a large breakfast. Had to take my own coffee as it only supplied Balinese coffee which I do not like. Amenities in the room were a little slack, having to ring for certain things that were supplied, but always running out of.
Overall the staff were quick with requests.

Amazing and friendly staff

I loved it, me and my german friends loved it. If we go back to Kuta we would absolutely go back to this Hotel. Mainly because of the service. One person named Iwayan Winduraka who was in the transport service was amazing, he gave us advice where to go, took us there, was friendly, funny and the fact that he told us things along the road was just amazing. All credits to him!

I'll risk sounding boring and unoriginal. This hotel is fantastic: helpful staff, clean, relatively new, great pool. It is a little out of Kuta but only a very short taxi trip away and who wants to be right downtown anyway. 5 stars all round!

I and my wife had a pleasant stay in the hotel. If you are looking for a good, budget friendly hotel in Kuta, then this is the one!
Distance from Kuta beach and ground zero would be around 1.5 Kms, but if you are a person who likes greenery, calmness and temples around, stay in a hotel around Ubud.

Nice hotel shame abut the location

The helpfulness of the staff really made my stay at the hotel. The room was generally very good, and the housekeeping excellent.

It would be good if there was somewhere halfway decent to eat in the immediate area (the hotel is like an oasis within a blighted landscape).

The hotel is well designed and screening means that when you enter the hotel site you are unaware of what the area around looks like and noise from the road is not an issue at all. The location itself is ok, but to eat you need to travel some distance requiring a taxi or an unpleasant walk dodging traffic.

Stayed at this hotel for 12 nights. The hotel is quite new and in excellent condition. The staff are very warm and friendly, they even song me happy b-day and came to my room with a b-day cake with my name and age on it. The rooms are very big and comfy. Food is excellent as well. Location could def. be better, but with the free shuttle service, where they take you everywhere within 3 km radius, it's not that much of an issue. For the price I payed, I can only say its the best value for money in Kuta, as I've stayed in other hotels here as well.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic service!

We rented the Villa which was very nice with plenty of room and very comfy beds. The bathroom is amazing with \"rainfall shower\" and two sinks. What we liked most about this hotel was the location which is a bit off being on the other side of the island from the \"town\". We did not find this to be a problem since the island is so small and everything is just a couple of minutes away with the complimentary mountainbikes. The location makes it very quiet and peaceful around the hotel and on the beah. The staff and service is excellent, everyone was extremely helpful and did always make sure that everyone was satisfied. The spa is nice with great massages for a reasonable price. The only thing that we did not like was the roomservice, not the service itself but the food was not good. We tried the club sandwich and baguettes and they did not taste anything, felt like something you buy in a petrol station. But overall it was an amazing stay and I would really recommend this hotel!

Stayed 4 night at Sunset Bali. Excellent value for money. 10 min walk to Legian Rd;20 min walk to Legian beach or Carrefour (or 15,000rph taxi). Room is large and comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful Breakfast a bargain at only 50,000rph. Only problem is the courtyard pool. All rooms face the pool which means no escaping people in the pool making noise even at 6am which happened twice.
