I recently stayed at Swiss Hotel in Kuta, and overall, my experience was satisfactory with a few standout positives and some notable drawbacks.

The location is on a busy road, but surprisingly, the room was very quiet — and that was my top priority. I was pleased to have a peaceful, noise-free room, which made a big difference to my stay. I booked the Deluxe Grand room, and the size was good and comfortable.

The staff at this hotel are definitely a highlight — polite, professional, and welcoming. From check-in to breakfast service to the car park attendants, everyone was kind and helpful.

However, the cleanliness was disappointing. The room, the breakfast area, and the overall property felt dirty and neglected. Everything looks very outdated, which adds to the impression of poor hygiene even if it’s just age-related wear. The bathroom, particularly the bathtub/shower, was not clean. The property, from the entrance to common areas, clearly needs an update and a deep clean.

The swimming pool on level 2 is small — not really suited for actual swimming — and the gym was okay but nothing special.

Despite the drawbacks, I did extend my stay and poor cleaning become frustrating. Somehow they were asking if I need cleaning and replacement towels were dirty and the never cleaned the shower

Would never stay here. I wouldn’t recommended anyone stay here. From the day we got there , I started crying because of how awful the place was. I was trying to cancel , but wasn’t able to do so. The place was disgusting , not clean even though housekeeping had apparently cleaned the rooms. The sheets were stained , the bathroom , everything. I dreaded coming back to the place every time. Same with my family. The staff wouldn’t understand anything I was saying (yes I know the language barrier , but I was using google translate and showing them what I was saying). They tried to charge me for laundry , when they initially told me it was for free. They would mess up the food that we ordered, after it happened three times we gave us ordering food. I know it looks good online , but looks nothing like that in person. Take it from one persons mistake please

The staff and service was outstanding we really enjoyed the hospitality. The hotel is located on a busy major road but when inside you couldn’t hear any of the traffic noise. we caught a taxi everywhere. It’s a good stop over hotel if passing through. The hotel itself needs updating and upgrading. Worn and stained carpets in the corridors chipped doors and skirting’s loose floor board around the pool the room needed a proper bar fridge. it was clean and the room was large and comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it’s not a luxury resort it’s a good working hotel

Like grandparents, sweet but outdated

The best thing about the hotel is the friendly staff that always greets you with a smile. Aside from that, the place needs a “facelift” and I personally didn’t love the location as I couldn’t easily walk around. It’s easier if you rent a scooter or grab everywhere though. Overall, I had a great treatment and I can’t really complain.

The hotel is rated as a 4 star venue, it is not maybe 2.5 rooms are in poor condition, furniture badly in need of repairs and re-painting, bathroom shower needs good clean.
No toiletries except soap and toothbrush, only 2 towels no faces or hand towels.
Companion shows safe in room and bathrobes not in room
Pool area no atmosphere only 2 set of chairs and about 6 bean bags
Front desk staff very good always remembered name and booked taxis.
Food was OK did not have breakfast so can not comment.
Noisy rooms when furniture is moved around in rooms each side or above.
Stayed at other Swissbel Resorts will not stay at this one again.
Recommend they provide arm chairs in rooms as only one desk chair is provided

I had a lovely stay at the rainforest, it’s and absolutely stunning lush setting in a very convenient locations.

Whilst having lunch at the Bule Bar, the owner was with a photography crew taking promo pictures. As I was in the background, he offered me a complimentary spa treatment.

I returned to my room later in the day to a hand writer note and business card with the offer. Such a lovely gesture and the massage was absolute heaven. I will most definitely be returning.

Very Disappointing!

Was so disappointed when i checked in.

Booked this hotel thru expedia wif confirmation about 1 month before travel date, only to be told that they were running on full house and can only offer us a twin bedded room when i did specifically requested for a King!
Worst part was when they admitted to giving up my reservation for a tour group which just came in.
Highlighted to them that reservations was made 1 month ago and yet it can be given up to a later request!

Really disappointing how the management runs the the hotel!

Too far from anything to walk

The hotel appeared lovely when you first came in but after a few days you realised that we couldn't just go for a walk anywhere. Anything we needed or wanted to do required transport. Our room was not cleaned properly. I accidentally dropped a hiiball glass of coke. Unfortunately the glass broke. At the end of our stay I was charged for the glass, despite not getting it replaced during the rest of our stay. The coke from the accident was not cleaned up for the rest of the trip either. I cleaned the glass and did as best I could.
The bathroom floor was deadly dangerous once wet that we were standing on towels after showers to avoid slipping.
The road noise was not a problem but there was a lot of noise from other guests. Whilst this may be somewhat out of the direct control of the hotel, if they continue to hire out to large tour groups this is a given.

To sum up, they gave my room to another person when I was sleeping inside that room. So imagine you are in a need of sleep and there were people in front of your room trying to get in in the middle of the night. The front office staff responsible for this apparently didn't report this because there was no note about this when I complained about it in the morning. Very unprofessional!

During breakfast, I was told that I can order bacon and cheese directly to the staff. Well nobody took my order and after I finally got someone to take it, when I order some more extra, it never showed up until I finished my breakfast.

The hotel is average, it's suitable to be a 3 star due to lack of cleanliness, torn curtains, cockroaches, dirty wall however the staff was awesome, breakfast was good and a very comfortable bed.

Location is bit far from Kuta town and there's no hotel shuttle to go to Kuta or any other beach.

The other day, the was a function but the loud music was played through the out the night which was very disturbing.

Love this place

We'd go back to this place everytime we're in Bali. We've done two weeks this year and the same last year. They are warm and caring staff. I am typically greeted by name in the breakfast area. Its a larger hotel, but still presents itself in an amazing way. Good Food, good location, easy access to cabs and shopping and entertainment. Love the buffet breakfast.

We love this place and are staying for an extended time once again. Staff is great. Taxi's are easy and economical for one's needs. The Breakfast bar is diverse and enjoyable. It is out of the core of Denpaser, but still well within the entertainment and shopping areas of the city.

We spent 6 nights in Swiss-bel hotel Rainforest and enjoyed our stay with 100% satisfaction. I feel like the word 'No' is not there in their dictionary. Whatever we asked for, they provided us and did their best.
Hotel staff is great and always there to help you. I am definitely going to stay in this hotel again, it’s great value for money with nice breakfast, good location, helpful staff and good rooms too. Rain forest theme is amazing especially near the restaurant area and it’s always good to enjoy coffee sitting there and watching colorful fishes.

The hotel is located at the main of sunset rd. It's close to mini market (indomaret) and sushi tei (japanese restaurant). If you willing to walk further, u can find carrefour, big supermarket. It's really hard to cross the road and you need a car to go to kuta beach.

We chose this particular hotel because it had good reviews, was close to the airport (we were landing at 11:10 PM after 31 hours of traveling) and had a breakfast, all for an extremely reasonable cost. The hotel arranged for airport transport, too, which was very convenient and also reasonably priced. Our room was clean and decently appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet-style with fresh fruits and a mix of local and western cuisine. The staff of the hotel also arranged for our transportation to our next hotel. The area in which the hotel is located seems to have a good variety of restaurants and shopping.

Room was dirtier than expected. On first arrival had to call housekeeping to change my sheets. The glasses in the room were dirty and so was the tea kettle inside the room. Some of the room at amenities were missing and had to call housekeeping to replace them. They provided slippers for comfort but they look like they had been worn already.

Everything about our stay was perfect. We arrived and got a free upgrade to a junior suit which was a massive bonus:-)
The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, there was even a staion to cook you fresh pancakes, waffles and omelettes, we loved it!
The staff were very helpful.
The comments about the pool being dirty is very unfair, we sat around the pool for 3 days and it was clean! The only thing it had in on one of the days was a few leaves but this is unavoidable as the pool is surrounded by trees and plants!
I would definitely recommend staying here!
The only downside is that it is a long walk to the beach.

Clean room but no bar drinks, air conditioner and fridge not working properly, rooms cleaned only on request or after 3pm, bathroom towels in terrible condition, slow pool bar service, tried the breakfast room service which was not enjoyable. Staff very friendly though.

FIRST EVER 5 STAR REVIEW I HAVE EVER GIVEN!!!! (Out of about 25 reviews). This hotel is amazing and even better value for money. It is however a little bit out of Kuta. Most taxi drivers even refer to it as being in Legian. Costs around $3AUD to get to Legian street/kuta beach by taxi. Some improvements could be made such as better lighting, a better aircon and a shower door would be nice. (Amazing shower head). However I would recommended this hotel to anyone coming to Bali. Very peaceful hotel with nice staff and a crazy value for money. If I return to Bali I'll definitely stay here again!

Uber ride doesn't cost a lot to get around but traffic is bad so it always takes more than 30min to get anywhere. The room is ok -- a little run down especially bathroom but overall in a decent condition. When we checked in, we got a room where wifi signal is so weak that it's almost non-existing. The room also had ants problem. We asked for a room exchange on the same day we checked in but we were able to get to a different room a day after. Thankfully the second room was in much better condition. In between 7-9am breakfast buffet is always overcrowded by the locals so we ended up having late breakfast at around 9:30am which made the breakfast experience much better. Hotel is just right for the price. In a retrospect, I should have gotten a better hotel even if it costs extra money per night.

Very helpful staff and affordable price. Rooms are very spacious and the hotel itself is located within walkable distance to carrefour which is convenient. Even Kuta Beach and Square are walkable from the hotel. Had a problem with the fridge in both deluxe room and the junior suite. Fridges in deluxe room and junior suite both displayed 15 degrees celsius (weird) when I came into the rooms, and trying to cool down my water bottles was quite difficult. Either the fridges are very inefficient, or they are set like that to conserve electricity? There were also water leaks at the bottom of the fridge in both of my rooms. Other than this, the hotel was generally good, and definitely worth your bucks.

On first looks it's nice . Pretty rainforest lobby with an abundance of fish in ponds. But that's where the good review ends.
Room: bed was big and comfy pillows.
Seat in room was stained and ghastly
Bathroom was average but the worst was no hot water. After two nights I spoke to the manager and was informed that they only have cold and cool water . I couldn't believe it, I ended up checking out in disgust.
They didn't understand our need for hot water.
We didn't encounter any hot water issues at our villa in Seminyak so I know it's dollar scrimping at this hotel.

The hotel is surprisingly lovely, great staff, good shuttle to beach area. Rooms are spacious with exceptionally comfortable bed. The entrance and pool areas are clean and lovely. Our room was on the 5th Floor.
The location is precarious as Jalan (Street) Sunset is a highway - very difficult to cross over to the other side! The street has many dumpy & smelly spots where garbage is dumped and left to rot.

INCREDIBLE VALUE, LOVELY HOTEL

This hotel was truly a delight - upon arrival I was greeted with smiles, and a fresh glass of juice. As a first-comer to the wonderful island of Bali, this was an amazing start to my visit.

I got an AMAZING deal on this website, and for a '4-star' hotel, it was worth every single penny.

The pillows were some of the most comfortable I've ever rested my head upon, and my room, which faced the lobby on the second floor, was truly a delight.

The only downside of this place was the random location, but it was still reachable by taxi, or in the wiser case, by uber (I highly recommend it).

I had a 4 night stay here. The best about the hotel are the staff and the pool. Staff are great, nothing is too difficult for them and they always want to help with a smile. The pool was great, with practically no one using it. Just a few things, there was a small amount of ants in my room, so don't leave scraps out. First night no room for what I payed for so they joined 2 beds together. That's fine I did not mind that at all beds and pillows were great. The other is I could only use cash (I think this was because I booked through hotels.com). So sure enough on my first night I did not have enough cash and my card failed. But staff were great and fixed this by using Aussie dollars. I fixed my card and from there on no concerns. I think a good hotel for business or to get away from the busy parts of Bali

clean room, dedicated staff. on my first day i left over my pasport at counter and the staff keep it save. 2nd day my wife left her mobile at reception area, one of the staff found it and return it back. its a nice place for staycation with superb breakfast.

Comfortable stay

Comfortable. Clean. Along a busy street, getting cabs was easy. Friendly, accommodating and polite hotel staff, especially. I only din't really like the breakfast buffet, spread wasn't great. It was a pretty busy day, and dishes were quickly piled up on tables and the manager reprimanded the staff right in front of us for not being quick enough, found it very unprofessional. The manager wasn't as pleasant as all the other hotel staff either, quite grumpy. Otherwise, overall I had a good stay. Would I consider going back? Yes, if only it wasn't 2 KM away from the beach. There is a lovely spa, 700 mtrs to the left when you exit the hotel. You can get a full body massage and scrub for less than 70 MYR, it was really nice.

Long Story Short-I won't be back

I stayed 2 nights on the 25/26th of October 2015.
The Swiss Bel-Hotel Rainforest is central far Kuta end of Sunset Road.
Well priced it has an open atrium area.
The room was clean, a little dark as lights are in corners of the room.
Bed was large and comfortable!
There is one 'stand up' computer off the main lobby.

The staff did not reactivate my room key on night 2. I woke up in the dark covered in sweat and had to feel around the room for some time to locate clothes, shoes etc to go down to reception.

I had a conference in Nusa Dua for 4 days and had yet to book for the last 2 days of my trip prior to my return. I asked for a free breakfast or some token of apology prior to booking my next 2 nights and was told in a very smiley, pleasant way-'bad luck'. The Manager had this annoying trait of being obsequious and intimating that it was somehow my fault for not making sure that the staff reactivated my room key (like a guest is supposed to be aware of managing the behind the scenes service delivery!)

To make matters worse he did not even try and take my booking for the last 2 nights.
The icing on the cake was when he tried to send my TAXI Driver away who was waiting for my trip to Nusa Dua, and 'offerred' to have the hotel transport take me. A porter unloaded my bag before I was told the charge would be 300,000 rupiah!
My entire trip cost 120,000 Rupiah. I won't be back.

Amazing little hidden gem

Although not the most high class of hotels, you can find this 4 star hotel for a steal of a deal price. Located about a 5-10 minute drive from main kuta beach, its well worth being off the beaten path as you explore more bali locals through the comings and goings of the hotel.

TIPS:
1. never take taxis, always use UBER. Taxi drivers will always try and rip you off, asking you to pay 10-20$ for a short ride. Uber will cost you $2 even with traffic.
2. there is a 3x/day free shuttle to kuta beach from your hotel - FREE, use it!
3. Sunset boulevard is a really busy street, cross it with care. On the other side are really nice restaurants (some local, some touristic) about a 5-10 minute walk away.
4. Check out fresh spa, only a 5 minute walk way. You can get a package deal 2.5 hour massage for $18, the ladies treat you really well there.
5. Carffour is a huge shopping center with everything you need there. Best place to get fruits as you can ask the guys who work there to pick out the ripe fruits for you. They always weigh them, peel them, deseed and package them for the same bulk price without you doing any of the work. 10 min walk form hotel.
6. If you can get the room deal with breakfast included, DO IT. You will be kicking yourself while salivating at the buffet line if you don't, and the price to order breakfast at the hotel is $18pp.

Great place to stay, my wife and I enjoyed it immensely.

Nice Hotel central to most everything

Swiss Bell Rainforest staff and management have gone over the top in making sure our needs were met and that we were satisfied with the service. Although we had one small glitch in the beginning, once again, they have done much more than was necessary to correct those issues. I'd stay here again without any reservations. This is a reasonably priced, nicely located hotel for anyone visiting Bali.
