This hotel is ideally located adjacent to the JR rail station and near Kansai Airport. There is a shopping plaza with food options right next door. The room was as promised but the view was spectacular! We could see the airplane taking off and landing at Kansai! Only disappointment was the free airport shuttle only runs until 8:55am and our flight was at 2pm.

The hotel is good overall, but the shuttle to KIX is a little disappointed. The shuttle service only up to 8:55am which leads the guest who fly out in the afternoon or evening with no choice! Hope hotel can provide shuttle service all day long even it is hourly after noon!

Staff were lovely, lobby area was very nice. Lifts are very loud in the room every 5-10 minutes so you need earplugs, which they have at reception. The room itself was quite dated, decor straight out of the 90s, everything was very used and worn and the walls were dirty, in need of a fresh coat of paint. The carpet also had a concerning number of mystery stains and splatters on it. The free bus service to the airport was a nice benefit, you have to book for this in advance. The train station is right by the hotel which is very convenient, and there is also a Lawson and Family Mart within 5 minutes of the hotel.

I was given a room on the 47th floor with an excellent view. There are shops nearby, including Donki and an outlet mall, with a Lawson inside the actual hotel buillding. Easy access to the airport. Staff were professional. Property is a little tired but it is clean and the bed was comfortable.

I read some very negative reviews about this hotel the night before I arrived.
I found it super easy to get to from the airport. 1 stop on the subway and a couple of minutes from the station. Great when I arrived at midnight.
Room was large & clean. Smoking room but I never noticed any smell and I am sensitive to odours.
Next to elevator but not a problem.
Just stayed the one night before leaving Osaka but I would stay here again! Great view in the morning across Osaka & Kobe.

We enjoyed our stay of three days and had a wonderful ocean view. It is the rallest building (54 floors ) in the area.

The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There are two malls within in a quarter mile as well as a Don Quixote.

The shower room was traditional Japanese style--shower outside the tub before soaking in the tub. Also has a Toto bidet. Nightshirt and slippers may be too small for many Westerners--me included. Housekeeping was annoyed by reqests for extra pillows and towels.

Shuttle only runs during the morning hours. Reservations are required from the front desk. The train station is literally next door but you are at least 40 minutes from downtown Osaka. KIX is only one stop away for 370 yen.

There are many options for eating in the area. I wouldn't get the breakfast option but use the 10 or 20% discount for staying at the hotel. The menu did not change for the three days we were there and was congested at times.

While due for a refresh, it's still a solid choice.

We loved our layover 1 night stay at Star gates hotel with free water for us was a super plus. The rooms are dated but they are super clean and huge for Japan room sizing. All 4 of us got a bed which was opposite of all our previous hotels. Best view of Japan and we will visit and state at star gates hotel again. Hotel was nice, just double check when you book if you want a smoking room or not. I did not realize they offered smoking room. Also they only off airport transportation till 8:55am so if you have a later flight it will cost you about 500 yen to get from hotel to airport, it’s not a bad train ride though just 1 stop. Hotel is 3 mins from train station so very convenient, there is also a mall on the other side of train station if you wanted to walk around and get some food.

It is one train stop from KIX Osaka airport and they have free morning shuttle. There is good shopping near by and the cafe (not open early) is very good. Breakfast buffet is 3800 yen so I didn't try. They are pretty ridgid about 3 pm check in, but have luggage hold. View from 36 floor of 54 was amazing.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at Star Gate, our Superior Double room with bay view had a single queen bed, a small sofa & table, desk/dresser, large sink/vanity and mini fridge. Room was very spacious and super views of the ocean (43rd floor). Night views were beautiful. Decor and carpets a little dated but the view/spacious room made up for that.
Front desk staff were friendly and efficient and our earlier sent luggage was waiting for us, book your free shuttle to KIX ahead of time (it is AM only till 8:30am-ish). At the base of the hotel you are steps away from Rinku-town Station and another 5-8 min walk to the Rinku Premium Outlets, lots of shops and dining. Transit from Rinku-town station to Kansai-airport station is 370Yen. We would stay here again just to be closer to KIX Kansai Airport after spending time in Osaka.
