Awesome Hotel At A Reasonable Price

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights during Design Week (we weren’t aware it was Design Week). After finding out it was such a week in the city, it made sense as to why prices were high when we were trying to book a hotel.

The hotel is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the center of the city (Duomo area). However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The entire staff was excellent, the hotel is in great shape, the room was spacious and was cleaned properly every day, and the breakfast buffet was great. There’s also a very good restaurant directly across the street, literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel was a nice place to stay. Its a little out of the centre, but managed to get to it easily and cheaply by using the tram. Its a short walk from the tram stop.

The room was cool and had blackout shutters, which was well needed during the summer.

Breakfast was good also.

A great base for the family

This is a great resort for a family getaway. Right near Gardaland and just off the Autostrada with a McDonald's for the kids about 3 minutes away. They have animation at night for the younger kids and there is a beach volley Court as well as 3 pools. We used it as a bad to drive all the way around Lago di Garda and also a day trip to Venice

I was arrived this hotel after a far distance and I faced their bad attitude and cold behaviour. They didn’t help me at all and even didn’t explain anything. After 5 minutes from check in my room 101 which was looked like a coffin, I came down and immediately checked out. The staff was very rude and behaved me like a beggar. Shame on them.
I forgot the money that I was paid for two nights and left their hotel to find another by taxi. It’s a 4 stars hotel, but I pick 3 of them because they don’t know the basic requirements of hospitality and business manners and customer care.
What a shame!!!

Not a 4 star hotel in my view.

The staff were helpful and friendly. It was clean. Breakfast was average. The cooked breakfast was limited, for me that wasn't an issue. The room was modern but the bathroom was dated. I was concerned that 2 plug sockets were loose in the walls so l didn't use them. The wardrobe was just an open rail and no drawers avaiable. I had no control over the heating and it was very hot. The internet was not working for most of my stay. The toilet was loose from the floor. I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel. That said for Milan it is inexpensive but an improvement in maintenance would go a long way!

I had a conference at the Polytecnico di Milano, and this hotel is nearby, within walking distance. The hotel is clean; the room spacious; the bathroom is good size, even though the shower stall is small. The room had A/C, and it was perfect for the four days I was there when the temps reached mid-90's.
We had a nice view of the street. It is in a fairly quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to the Bovisa train station. Also, within walking distance to the tram stop. The wifi seemed to be a little slow.

Convenient for Politecnico di Milano

A pleasant stay if you are visiting the Politecnico di Milano at the Bovisa campus as the Sunflower Hotel is within 10 minutes walk. Service is efficient and the rooms are comfortable and though a bit sombre in design, they are clean with good facilities.

Stayed here for two consecutive weeks on business basis.
The room in the first week:
The internet was very slow.
There was no desk in the bedroom or any adaptor sockets in the bedroom.
There was no TV channels in English ie news channel

There was an adaptor socket in the bathroom.
The bathroom was outdated and there was mould in the shower. Did not like the using the bathroom at all.

The second week:
The room had a desk with an adaptor socket.
The bathroom was also more acceptable and modern.
Internet was still very slow.

Overall, It was a nice stay in a great neighborhood. However, something that must be improved in the hotel is WiFi connectivity. It was quite poor, be it in hotel room or nearby the breakfast region. Breakfast were good, but I wish they had included one or two vegetarian options as well.

Location, okay... breakfast, heck yeah!

The location was about twenty five min bus ride from the city center. i thought well two & something mikes can't be that far of a walk. Believe me it is... I wouldn't even try it. Therefore we didn't go out at night bc we didn't want to be on the bus late at night. Aside from the location, the hotel was good & staff was great. Breakfast was amazing!!!! Great hotel for the price we paid. Well worth it!

It is old Italian style and a bit run down.It had a heavy stuffy feeling and was dark. It was convenient to my meeting but otherwise, I wouldn't stay there in the future. I prefer clean, fresh, light and simple is fine. In addition, the sound proofing is not good as a midnight I could hear my neighbor engaging in well, a good time for sure.

it is a 40 mins tram journey to the centre area. The neighbourhood is not the best and at night has at least 1 street worker on the opposite side of the main road touting for business.
i asked for a non smoking room yet when i walked in, the smell of smoke hits you immediately. good sized room and the balcony was great. the bed was very hard and i found it was not comfy.
breakfast was included and did the job. shame about the location and the smokey room and hard bed. Reception staff were helpful.

Overall an outstanding stay. Staff very friendly and helpful during our stay. Only problem we had was left a Kindle Fire there when we checked out. When we came back to get it, we were told that it had not been found. Don't know who got it but had to be someone on the staff. Lock your valuables in the safe when you go out.

I reserved this hotel in the past and the reason I reserved again, it was not too bad. Unfortunately this time I saw the quality of the hotel was not four Stars. Cold and unfriendly male receptionist, more taxes collected, at the check out, I paid for a two separated beds and I got a small room with one small uncomfortable bed. About the \"Continental breakfast\" very poor and limited. Nothing for people with vegan attitude. I got a better breakfast at bar down the street. Honestly I do not suggest this place, it is not worth the money they ask for. This establishment should not be rated 4 stars, 2 stars maybe.

Hotel Sunflower was nicer than expected! The only complaint we had was that our room was next to the elevator, so we heard all elevator noises and other guests conversations through the thin walls. This hotel was within walking distance to the tram and bus stops, so travel to the train station and city center was very easy! We will stay here again when we visit Milan!

The location is okay, there's a tram/bus stop very close by, and an underground station not so far away (about 10, 15 mins walk). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. You can even buy bus or tram tickets at the reception (if available). The room is good, it has air-con and given Milan summer, that's a must. Breakfast was good, plenty of options like cereals, milk, juice, cakes, bread, scramble eggs, some ham, etc.
If you visit the Expo, the hotel is at a good location, it takes about 20 or 30 mins by underground directly to the Expo.

Reasonably priced comfortable & clean hotel, air con & friendly service, with breakfast included, within easy commute by bus, train & metro for doing the sights of milan. 10 mins walk from train station. Quite a few local restaurants nearby, we used Platz, 2 mins to right as you come out of the hotel, lovely fresh food & friendly helpful service. We used airport shuttle ticket & 48 hour travel pass which we got on our easyjet flight for doing the sights of milan before going to grand prix at monza, which worked our brilliant for buses, trains & metro or even the trams, once you worked out where you wanted to go.

Rude reception staff, room not cleaned.

I chose this hotel due to its price, and suffered as a result. It is located in a bad area- rather unsafe and very dirty surrounding streets- and the reception staff (particularly the female reception staff) were extremely rude and unhelpful. We were expected to pay 70 euros city tax upon check out, which we were NEVER informed of when we checked in. They happily took our passports to begin with, yet FAILED to mention that they would charge us such a sum upon check out. When my friend and I questioned the reception staff as to why they did not inform us, the female member was extremely rude and stated that we \"just should have knew\" and that it wasn't her job to tell us that THEY would charge us this. As well as this, our room was not cleaned the day before check out and as a result we had no clean towel and toilet paper. A note to make regarding breakfast, don't go down any later than 9:30. Although breakfast is 'served' until 10am, the bacon and egg is not replaced and neither is the hot water. On many occasions we found we could not make a cup of tea or have hot water with our breakfast. We were also woken up during the night on a number of occasions as our shutter was rattling, and we feared that the security was low given that we believed someone was wondering around our corridor on a number of nights.Overall, a very bad experience.

Lovely hotel. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice. It was very clean and staff were polite and helpful. It was about a 15 minute walk to the subway but the walk was straight forward. The subway gave easy access to all areas of the city. If you don't like walking then a taxi was under 10 euros to the subway station. Would stay there again.

Generally nice hotel. The personnel is kind and ready to assist the guests. Breakfast is solid and with decent assortment. Clean rooms, our had even balcony looking to the sunrise :) . Location is very easy for traveling with the public transport. You have Tram N2 going to Duomo 200m away from the hotel; Trolley and bus 90 and 91 going to San Siro stadium and to Central station on opposite direction. With the same line you can reach the Metro station Zara within 6-7 minutes. Overal - very convenient location. The only cons that I have exprerienced is the lack of active ventilation in the bathroom, but actually this wasn't veryfied with the personnel , so not 100% sure. Thank you, will come again ;)

Salle de bains récemment refaite et très agréable (à part le sèche-cheveux des années 70 qui sèche mal les cheveux mais qui vous brûle la main). Chambre propre et confortable mais la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas, C’était très embêtant puisqu’on ne peut pas ouvrir la fenêtre à cause du périphérique qui passe juste devant l’hôtel et du bruit qu’il génère. La chambre était beaucoup trop chaude, même pour un mois de février. Le personnel était sympathique et j’ai apprécié de pouvoir garer ma voiture dans le parking souterrain. La décoration est très désuète, Elle plaît peut-être aux personnes centenaires, mais personnellement je pense que l’hôtel mériterait vraiment d’être pris en mains par un décorateur pour un bon coup de jeune
