Horrible customer service at this hotel. We arrived 45 minutes before the check in time and the room was ready but they would not let us check in without paying $20. They did not give us any wifi info or breakfast info. The front desk staff was very rude. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor so we had to use our towels to dry up the water and when we asked for more towels, they would only give us 1 towel. The hotel was dirty, the carpets were dirty, stained and faded. The surrounding area is an industrial zone with very noisy trucks in the morning.

Tired and in need of some updating

Spent a few nights at the hotel this week and was quite disappointed with the experience. Its a hotel in much need of a refurb, with staff (particularly Stefano on the front desk) who can come across as quite rude.

Air conditioning that doesn't work means really warm and uncomfortable nights and sleeping with the window open is loud with the trams rolling past every few minutes.

Bit of a let down really, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

One stayed for one night. On arrival receptionist was very helpful and as I used ebookers there was no need to hand over credit cards etc. However on leaving I checked out with another receptionist, the difference between the receptionist was like day and night. The receptionist I checked out with was not only rude to fellow staff members he was also rude to me. Based on this experience I would not recommend or use this hotel again.

Work trip and hotel was 5 minutes from the office which was the primary reason for choosing it. Stayed here before. Disappointing through as a 4 star hotel there isn't a restaurant

Must see inside to appreciate!

Walking from the train station to the hotel was actually scary. The hotel is in a very suspicious part of the city, right across from what looks like a sort of prison or military camp. It is not a pleasant walk to the bus or metro for a family. I was ready to cancel until we walked into the hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the elegant interior, nice staff and felt quite safe inside. We had a family room which is basically 2 rooms suite-style. Very nice.

Nice hotel, but......

Nice functional hotel, \"old charm\" but away from the the Milan action. About 2 miles from Milano Cadorna train station.
Staff are charming as is parts of the hotel, but it is Old Charm with some modern updates i.e. functional in-room WiFi and a refrigerator. Clean and respectful but
Downside is that it is far from Milano's cultural highlights; but they are reachable via tram. Once you know the routing and factor in about 25 minute transit time, it's not that big a deal.

Tips: a) from the Cardorna train station, buy a one day city transit pass at the Public Transit ATM ticket machine (they call the Public Transit \"ATM\" - don't confuse it with the US ATM cash machine) for € 4.50 then take the #1 tram that is heading to Piazza Castelli. (The tram stop is RIGHT outside the main entrance of the train station. Bear slightly right.) Validate your transit pass using the ticket machines on board the tram. Get off at Piazza di Firenzi about a 20 minute journey. The hotel is down the street and around the block. NOTE: so as not to incur a fine, make sure you validate your ticket as ticket inspectors are swarming on these tram lines.
b) There are two grocery stores nearby - one about two blocks away and the MUCH better one in a new shopping mall about a 15 minute walk to the North in the Piazza Portello. Bring a sack to forgo being charged for shopping bags.

Tooooooooo hot!!!

Very disappointed having read very good reviews for this hotel.

Room was uncomfortably hot and left us exhausted having had so little sleep in the sauna of a room. I literally had to have a cool wet towel on my brow all night!

Staff were reasonable but by no means welcoming. Breakfast was fine.

Location is out of town but there is good access to the centre via tram or bus.

You do get what you pay for, but I would have expected better.

When we were checked in, the staff asked us to wait an hour to let them finish typing our information. So we need to wait for an hour for our passports. The room is okay but really small. Breakfast is pretty good. Overall, it is just an okay hotel. More like a three star hotel instead of four.

best choice in Milan

the hotel is not far away from city centre. We walk to center about 30 minutes. There are several bus lines around the hotel. So even no metro but still convenient. The room is clean and comfortable. But the facility seems to be old. The only bad thing is WIFI. Not very fast and sometimes we cannot link to it. The breakfast is terrific, the best one I got in Italy. It's a very good 4 star hotel. The price we got is 49euro per night with 5 euro city tax per night per person. It's not so expensive.

Hotel looks from outside like a medieval building, very historical and romantic.
It's reasonable compromise between price and location. You can walk to city center or you can use tram. It's also big supermarket not far away from hotel.

Good value for money

The hotel is located in a beautiful building. It is not exactly in the center, but using the tram 1 you can be in the center in 20 minutes, or you can walk less than an hour. It takes 45 mins to walk to San Siro stadium. Room is clean and comfortable, breakfast is decent.

Breakfast very bad and if something finish they will not bring more, rather remove the tray. Too many TV channels and zero English channel. Air condition noisy like 24hrs sub train. I think whoever stay first time in that hotel will not return for 2nd stay. Definitely I am not returning to that hotel neither recommend to anyone.

I do not recommend the Regency Hotel, Milan: On arrival at 1.30 am, I was told that, due to a hotel error (rooms double booked), my four night stay had been cancelled, and that I could stay only one night. I protested that I had paid eight weeks earlier with Hotels.com, on a no-cancellation deal, and that payment was made and accepted by the hotel. All I got was a grudging apology, and \"blame the computer\" or \"blame hotels.com\". Without any choice I was to be sent to a hotel near the San Sero instead. I protested that I had spent hours trying to find the perfect hotel (a few mins walk for my conference at Mico), that I had no interest in the San Sero or football, and that I was highly inconvenienced. In the end, the next day, I was transferred to yet another hotel, the Sunflower, lower priced in a dodgy district - no compensation. So in the end only spent 5 hours in the Regency, but a memorable experience, for all the wrong reasons. Management and reception staff really need to learn about customer service.

Comfortable and friendly

The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The location is very close to the tram to Doumo, the bus stop for the 90/91 route around the main downtown loop and many buses at Firenze Plaza. The subway was accessible from either riding the tram south or a 10-15 walk west.

Staff was great, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good (meat, eggs, cheese and fruit in addition to the typical cereal and pastries). You can also get espresso drinks. The only think I did not like was that the hot water would go cold, then very hot, in a cyclic pattern as I showered. I learned to step away from the water when it went cold, wait a second, then continue with my shower.

Staff were excellent looked very serious but were very competant. Hotel was in the boon docks but a tram delivered you where you wanted to go with ease and opened up new areas. My first room had heating at 40 C but staff changed my room without hesitation.

We spent one night at the hotel. Everything was clean and comfortabel. The services were perfect and the receptionist were helpful.
I thought that we will be bit far from the center. But the public transport system is perfect and easy avaible from the hotel such as tram and bus.

Hotel Regency - 4 stars for the budget traveler

The Hotel itself is great - clean, quite, a 4 stars indeed. the problem is the location - it's about 20-30 mins of tram ride from the center of Milan, or about an hour walking (I've tried, believe me...)
if your on a budget and you want a good accommodation and don't mind using the tram system - that's the hotel for you.

Great stay in charming hotel!

Stay was great! We booked a triple, and they gave us a suite with 2 rooms-- very much appreciated! The guy at the front desk was a little cranky, but still helpful in answering questions. Also the staff spoke very good English. The rooms were medium sized, bathroom was spacious. The room was awesome except that the bed was not that comfortable. *Also, I didn't know this prior to my trip, but in Europe, it's customery to leave the key at the front desk when you leave the hotel. So don't be surprised when they hand you a super heavy key--it's b/c they want you to leave it with the desk. Location was very close/convenient to the tram, and Milan's tram network is pretty easy to use.

Stanza un po' antiquata, dimensioni stanza e bagno accettabili, mancavano comodini di fianco al letto e la presa di corrente per caricare si trovava in posizione scomoda dietro i cuscini.

Pessima non farò pubblicità positiva, alla reception un ragazzo con zero disponibilità sin dalla mattina per lasciare i bagagli,nessuna indicazione come richiesta per i mezzi, ho regolato 7 euro in più per non polemizzare rispetto il totale sulla ricevuta fiscale, dove mi prendeva anche per.... polemico in tutti i modi. Letto scrizzo alla francese invece abbiamo trovato 2 singoli,pavimento e muri bagno macchiati, doccia dentro la vasca con l ho scarico che non andava, aria condizionata, con il segnale diverso per accensione ma la stanza non refrigerava abbastanza, l unico confort il letto, mai più direi.

Bastante bien, estuvimos 4 dias; muy simpaticos/as en la recepción, correctos y bien vestidos. En la habitación te dejan café y té de cortesía que reponen cada mañana después del room service, disponíamos de calentador de agua para el té también en la habitación. Una mañana nos pasamos del tiempo del room service por que salíamos a las 12-13 y nos hicieron igualmente las camas; cambian toallas y demás cada día; nos prestaron una plancha de ropa para usar desde la recepción muy amablemente (no nos ofrecieron servicio de lavandería) En el bar disponen de varias opciones de leche (tenemos intolerancia a la lactosa), las consumiciones del bar las adjuntaban a la cuenta de la habitación y lo pagamos todo en el checkout, lo cual es bastante cómodo así no tienes que pagar en cada momento. Algo a mejorar, la iluminación y mobiliario del hall. Sillas incomodas y poca iluminación. También podrían cambiar el gel y champú del baño, es muy básico, sin color y sin olor.

Rooms need an update

The rooms really need an update. Old fashioned carpet, bathrooms with semi-functional showers, old faucets, etc.

One room was terrible warm, and it couldn’t get fixed. The other room was cold, and it could changed….

Also, several of the rooms face the street where the metro/tram runs - this rooms are really noisy as windows are old without proper noice cancellation.

Upside: even during a busy time, the room rate was pretty low. This is the best of the hotel.

L’Hotel è molto datato, negli arredi, nelle stanze (e i loro servizi) e nelle parti comuni. Le stanze sono piccole, la colazione (non compresa nel costo stanza) molto essenziale è acquistabile solo direttamente in Hotel. Il costo stanza, praticato dall’Hotel, è molto diverso da quello proposto tramite HOTELS.COM , ovvero molto più contenuto in Hotel piuttosto che su HOTELS.COM.

Hotel sulla carta a 4 stelle, ma nella pratica un 2 stelle superior. Bella la hall, le camere invece saranno state belle nei primi anni 2000 ma ora serve una ristrutturazione generale della struttura.

Il giardino interno sarebbe anche bello se fosse tenuto curato.

La colazione non è stata all'altezza di un 4 stelle.

Virkelig dejligt hotel

Super hyggeligt værelse med altan direkte ud fra badeværelset. Der var dejlig rent og virkelig sødt personale. Desuden var lobbyen og spiseområdet virkelig pænt indrettet med de smukkeste sofaer og lænestole, samt helt fantastiske kurvemøbler der alle matchede hinanden.

Ho pernottato solo per una notte in hotel e l'ho visto per poco. Mi è sembrato tutto ok, molto pulito e il personale anche cordiale. La zona in cui si trova è centrale, una pecca non ha dei parcheggi vicino, ma un convenzionato a pochi metri a piedi (autofficina skorpio, mi sembra si chiami) dove è possibie lasciare auto e chiavi.

Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel sind gut zu erreichen und man kommt schnell in die City. An der Rezeption haben wir Auskünfte erhalten und wurden freundlich bedient. Am Abreisetag gab es kein Frühstück da dies zu früh war (6 Uhr). Hier hätte ich mir ein Lunchpaket oder zumindest die Nutzung des Kaffeeautomaten gewünscht da die Leistung ja gebucht und auch bezahlt war.

Hotellet var rigtig godt og fin morgenmad. Dertil en hyggelig bar og gode muligheder for siddegrupper i loungen. Alt var godt. Kun lå hotellet lidt langt fra centrum, så taxi var nødvendig (ca 20 min)

L'albergo è bello e il personale sempre gentile e cortese. Alcune stanze sono piccoline e abbastanza rumorose. Ottima la colazione anche se il prezzo è decisamente caro, 12€.

Dejligt og hyggeligt hotel med fine værelser. Morgenmaden var over al forventning. Helt klart et sted, jeg ville besøge igen - også set ud fra den meget rimelig pris pr. overnatning.
Hotellet ligger ca 15 mins gang fra nærmeste metro, men der er sporvogne lige uden for døren.

Albergo ricavato da una villa del diciannovesimo secolo arredato in stile liberty.
Atmosfera suggestiva. Camere pulite e ben insonorizzate. Gradevole il kit di benvenuto composto da ciabattine, shampo, gel da bagno, sapone e creme di ottima qualità che fanno sempe piacere.
Unica pecca la colazione, per quanto varia e di buona qualità, che sul sito è segnalata come compresa nel prezzo in realtà mi è stata addebitata al check out. Comunque era buona e servità in una elegante sala da pranzo.

Points négatifs:
robinetterie vétuste, VMC toilettes HS, clim HS (chambre chaude, obligés de dormir avec les fenêtres ouvertes, d'où bruit et moustiques). Quartier pas terrible.

petit-déjeuner international bon et copieux
