Gorgeous rustic style small hotel with lovely friendly staff.
Great breakfast
Up in the hills so need a car but quiet and peaceful. Nice outdoor pool.
Only 20 mins drive from old part of Las Palmas

This property was the GEM of our stay in the Canary Islands. We stayed at 5 properties during our 2 week trip, and this was my favorite. It is a bit off the beaten path, but that's what we loved about it. Clean, incredible staff, an amazing breakfast, clean quaint rooms, etc. Everything we had hoped and more. The pool was clean and crisp... amazing!

Good when the reception was open

It was disappointing that reception was closed when we arrived and service was minimal on our first day but when the reception opened the service was great! Friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and everything was very Covid secure. Good quiet location in the hills above Las Palmas (12 Euros for taxi into the city centre). They need to get rid of the his&hers pillows though! Not acceptable in 2020 to assume all of your clients are straight...

Beautiful Hotel run by Wonderful People

A beautiful property hosted by a wonderful staff. Agustin and Carlos especially were so kind and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay at the hotel and experience on Gran Canaria was as enjoyable as possible. My only regret with Hotel Mondalón is that I could not stay longer. I will not look anywhere else when returning to Gran Canaria.

Short but comfortable stay

This was a quick stop, but should have stayed longer. The quality for the price was very good. It’s 10 minutes from the airport and not far from las Palmas. This would have been a great spot to see the whole island from with a rental. The restaurant had a small menu, but everything was delicious!

Was here for a business trip just for a one night stay and I’ll definitely be back for a holiday! The building and surroundings are beautiful and staff are lovely too. The room was a little noisy but that’s just as it’s an old building I think and it didn’t bother me too much. Apart from that it was excellent!

Peaceful country house.

Beautifully renovated Spanish farm house , lovely setting in the hills, great amenities great food, comfy bed. Even caught the local bus next to the gates to Las Palmas. Helpful staff.

Beautiful Rural Hotel

This hotel is a converted farmhouse and stables and has been beautifully converted. All the rooms are different and very nice. Their restaurant was excellent and the included breakfast was superb. The only one thing about this place at the moment their bar facilities are not available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I was told that every weekend they have functions such as barbeques which attract hundreds of people but as we were only there on Wednesday to Thursday we didn't see this. The staff were superb and as they are local did not speak a lot of English but that was easily overcome and added to the charm of the place. They also have a vineyard and make their own wine which was superb and very reasonably priced in the restaurant.

Great location if you want to detach from the big city; Lorena-Director was extremely accommodating extensive to all employees. Breakfast and dinner are great. The scenery is beautiful

Modern spacious small boutique hotel

We could check in at 2pm, and were greeted by friendly and efficient staff. Room was spacious and well appointed, with TV, wifi, desk to work at etc. Outside there was a view of the hillside into the distance, vines and cultivation. The restaurant was modern, and a little bit dull until we discovered the steak option, which was the best steak I have eaten for several years. Breakfast out on the terrace was generous, and several hot food options were offered. The airport is a 20 min drive, and we used the access to the motorway to venture all over the island. We found a wonderful small village at the coast nearby where the fisherman cooperative grilled wonderful fresh fish. We will be back!

Fabulous hotel

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, although because the ceilings were low (in our room - not sure about the others), taller people may not enjoy them as much. The breakfast, which is included, was delicious and we really enjoyed both suppers we had at the hotel. We would definitely go back!

Remotely located, but beautiful hotel and rooms with brilliant staff providing very high level of service. What the hotel lack in respect of location, the surroundings and staff makes the stay worth every penny. Will certainly visit this hotel in the future.

Small, comfortable and cosy atmosphere

I was very pleased with my two-Night stay at this hotel (May 2016). The staff were particularly friendly and appeared genuine in wanting to provide a good service. This is a small hotel and there wasn't much going on, but it was peaceful and pleasant. My room and en-suite were clean and tidy. I loved the huge shower! There is a small-medium sized pool. I had a very tasty BBQ here on my last night, as this is the evening dinner they provide on Fridays. If you like the 'quieter life' then this may suit you well.

Lovely traditional style hotel in countryside

We really liked this hotel, wooden beams, interesting architecture, lovely setting in countryside and only 20 minutes from Las Palmas once we knew the route. The breakfasts are superb. Staff cooked meal for us when we arrived although it was very late.

Ancienne bâtisse agréablement reconvertie en hôtel d’une dizaine de chambres.
La salle de bain est correcte, avec des pommeaux de douche qui fonctionnent bien (rare), mais les joints des parois ont souffert du calcaire.
La chambre (qui portent toutes un nom, la nôtre «Moscatel») est grande et revêtue d’un parquet bien entretenu.
Très grand lit King Size.
Les mouches et les enfants de l’école proche dorment la nuit.
Dans un bâtiment à part se trouve la salle du petit déjeuner. Peu de choses, mais ce n’est qu’une impression, il y a de tout. Des gâteaux faits maison bien meilleurs que de la pâtisserie industrielle (qu’il y a aussi d’ailleurs).
Pas encore de restaurant, les responsables cherchent un chef pour tenir le restaurant.
Une salle annexe permet d’organiser des réceptions.
Il y a une zone dans l'enceinte (fermée la nuit, mais on ouvre avec le passe de la chambre) pour garer la voiture.
Intéressant : le réceptionniste nous a fourni un plan Google Maps pour un trajet de montagne qui va de l’hôtel jusqu’au sommet de la « Caldera de Bandama » en une heure ou moins. Superbes vues sur le trajet et sur la crête.

Wir waren zu unseren Flitterwochen hier, haben uns wohl gefühlt und konnten diverse Wandertouren entweder direkt vom Hotel oder nach einigen Fahrminuten in den Bergrn beginnen.
Das Personal war zu jeder Zeit freundlich.
Das Frühstück war überschaubar aber reichlich.
Das Restaurant El Mondalon ist eine ganz hervorragende Empfehlung, wir haben dort fast täglich gegessen.
Rundum, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt!

Hotel rústico con encanto.

No es la primera que me alojo, ni será la última. Encantador hotel situado en un entorno excepcional, rodeado de montaña y ajeno a ruidos y aglomeraciones. Las habitaciones son espaciosas, de estilo rústico, el desayuno muy completo, el personal muy amable y atento. El restaurante tambien está a la altura del conjunto. Me falto probar la psicina al no disponer de tiempo suficiente, a la próxima.

Väldigt mysigt och vackert i bergsmiljö

Litet hotel som ligger en liten bit från annan bebyggelse. Före frukosten, som var bra, gick jag en lång tur upp i bergen som ligger precis bredvid. Snäll och hjälpsam personal. De rummen som ligger på andra våningen är klart bättre, med en liten innegård i buddistisk stil med blommor och träd. Poolen som finns på området är inte uppvärmd vilket kan vara bra att tänka på under vissa månader. Bastun var trasig när vi var där, något som var trist eftersom det också kändes som att det var ett återkommande problem. Det finns ett litet träningsrum men det håller inte nån klass alls. Det som finns är en cykel och ett löåband, men grejerna är från förra seklet. Knappt att de gå att använda.
Men om du inte tänkt att träna och vill ha det mysigt så är detta ställe jättefint! Soldäcket med poolen är härligt och det går ju att bada även om det är kallt i vattnet (det var kanske 16 grader i vattnet när vi var där i slutet av mars, men på sommaren är den ju uppvärmd av solen).

Aangename kamers, alles wat je nodig hebt. Altijd buiten kunnen ontbijten. Voldoende keuze koud en warm buffet. Van het restaurant hebben we geen gebruik gemaakt doordat we tijdens onze uitstappen met wandelingen de lokale restaurantjes uitprobeerden.

C'est une ancienne ferme qui a été reconvertie avec beaucoup de goût en hôtel avec un nombre de chambres limité (10).Il est situé au milieu de l'ancienne exploitation donc vignes ,arbres fruitiers ,jardin ,moutons et chèvres sont sous nos yeux.Les chambres sont confortables avec une bonne literie.Le petit déjeuner avec charcuteries,gâteaux maison,fruits frais,laitages à volonté a été très apprécié.La carte du restaurant est limitée mais c'est l'assurance de produits préparés au dernier moment(je recommande le cochon de lait grillé).L'hôtel est un peu loin d'un centre animé et après une journée de visite on n'avait pas forcément envie de reprendre la voiture pour trouver un restaurant.Malgré une arrivée très tardive une personne était là pour nous accueillir.Le lendemain à la réception la personne nous a suggéré des idées de visites bien utiles.Séjour d'une semaine.Très bien.

Schönes Landhotel in ruhiger Umgebung

Eine schöne Anlage im typischen kanarischen Stil. Gutes Frühstück und gehobene Küche im Restaurant. Mit Auto gut erreichbar. Der Swimming Pool ist fürs regelmäßiges Schwimmen gut geeignet und zum Ausruhen auf den Liegestühlen ebenfalls, zum Frühstück gibt es u.a. frisch gepressten Orangensaft, zu Beginn der Weinlese gab es eine Weinleseeinführung mit Weinverkostung und phantastischem Mittagsbüffet.

Sentirsi coccolati, comodamente nel verde

Ottima posizione, pochi km da Las Palmas e ben collegato a tutte le località. Nel verde e con bellissimi fiori. Poche camere. Tutto molto semplice ma curato: buona colazione, wifi, sorrisi, relax. Abbiamo cenato una sera al ristorante: molto bene! Un grazie particolare a Carlos per consigli ed assistenza!

ruhiges Hotel mit eingschränktem Service

Das Fazit vorweg: ich sehe die Bewertung des Hotels mit vier Sternen als nicht gerechtfertigt an. Weder der Service noch das Restaurant erreichen einen Vier-Sterne-Standard.
Das Hotel liegt ruhig im Norden Gran Canarias, nicht weit von Las Palmas. Die Umgebung kann man zwar nicht als sehr schön bezeichnen, aber man befindet sich in der Provinz ohne touristische Infrastruktur. Dies \"bezahlt\" man mit einem für die Lage üblichen schlechteren und kühleren Wetter.
Das Hotel besteht aus mehreren kleinen Gebäuden. In einem sind die Zimmer in eher rustikalem Stil angelegt, teilweise mit Terrasse. Unser Zimmer verfügte über keine Terrasse, wir konnten einen Sitzplatz im schönen, kleinen Hof oder eine Liege am kleinen Pool benutzen.
Sauberkeit und Zimmerservice würde ich als mittelmäßig bezeichnen. Fußboden und Schubladen waren etwas sandig, einige Ecken im Bad werden scheinbar generell nicht greinigt. Nach dem Zimmerservice fehlten schon mal saubere Handtücher oder Toilettenpapier.
Das Essen im Restaurant war passend zum Hotel eher rustikal. Dazu passte auch das Service-Personal, das außer spanisch nur teilweise gebrochenes Englisch sprach, so dass die Kommunikation schon einmal etwas schwieriger war. Und auch bei der Handlungseise des Personals beschreibt die Bezeichnung \"rustikal\" aus unserer Sicht am ehesten den Zustand.
Das sparsame und wenig abwechslungsreiche Frühstück wird im Bodegon oder auf der Terrasse eingenommen. Und auch hier wieder eher sparsame Kundenfreundlichkeit.

Att uppleva det äkta Gran Canaria

Om du vill uppleva det äkta på Kanarieöarna är detta ett toppenställe. Maten är fantastisk, sängarna likaså. Personalen gör allt för att du ska trivas. Du behöver bil för att ta dig hit och vidare upp o bergen. Under vår vistelse fick vi uppleva både sol och regn. Det är lätt att ta sig över hela ön från Mondalón. Nära till kratern Bandama som har en vidunderlig utsikt. Närområdet ger också möjlighet till fina vandringar.

Mycket prisvärt boende utanför stan

Ett jättemysigt ställe en bit upp i bergen/utanför Las Palmas. Rent och välskött hotell och fantastisk frukost i härlig rustik miljö.Rofyllt! Trevlig och bra restaurang på hotellet samt trevligt soldäck med fräsch bassäng. MYCKET prisvärt! Hyr bil på flygplatsen och använd hotellet som utgångspunkt!
