My first room was dirty and musky. The entire 4th floor was musky. My curtains didn’t close properly leaving at least 2 feet of gap. I requested for a room change but because I booked a superior room, they only had availability on the 4th floor. So I paid 54 bucks over the counter to upgrade to a deluxe. Curtains closed this time and room wasn’t musky but the bathroom this time reeked of bleach. I checked out at 10pm the same day I checked in because I just can’t feel comfortable in the room to rest. Upon check out, the sweet lady at the reception was nice enough to ask if everything was alright with the room because I wanted to check out without spending a night and paying for an upgrade after checking in but I told her all is fine because I was already prepared to check out and there’s nothing she could have done to make me spend the night.
1 star rating for the rooms, but 5 star rating for the ladies working at reception from check-in and check-out.

There are small cockroaches. There were no towels placed in the room. There were stains on the furniture and sheets in the room. I had requested for the room to be cleaned, but it was not. I didn't request anything and suddenly in the middle of the night there was a knock on the door and a doorbell, very scary. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Overall, i thought the hotel is good.
A number of things to watch out for:
1. There were government taxes which i had to pay at check-in. So i had to pay an extra 150 rm otherwise the would not let me check-in. Was this lastminute fault or hotel fault? Mot sure.

2. As Ixora is on the mainland, any Grab to island will

Not a 3/4 star rated hotel

though I have checked-in very late, the hotel didn't accommodate to my request of a late check-out time.
I paid the full price for a exec suite because my booking for a superior room (with king bed) has been given away to another guest.
The room I got (#320) had a mildew odor - no wonder the hotel kept the air-conditioning turned on (was super cold when I entered the room) - gave me a slight eerie feeling. Was too tired to make a fuss about it.
The reviews mentioned superb, delicious breakfast BUT it was to my surprise that the breakfast is what you get from a motel - wish the hotel mngt could look into it. Only eggs (sunny side up) & coffee were good.

My family & I have always looked forward to staying in this hotel, and we usually stay here about 4-5 times a year. But this most recent visit was a bit underwhelming compared to our previous stays. We were given the same room as our last visit and we felt a bit let down. It would be nice if the hotel appreciated our frequent patronage.

Experience staying Ixora Hotel

There is only one mall which is just beside the hotel, shops mostly closed down. Nothing much to walk around in that area. Not a recommendable place to stay around that area as it is difficult to find outside food nearby the hotel too. We made a changes of room, got a connected room, views surrounded our hotel is not good enough and also we got the our rooms that is opposite an abandon carpark which looks scary enough at night. Amenities and usage of gym or pool is ok.

This time also get a surprise UPGRADE to a deluxe room , it's big and very comfortable .

We booked a two bedroom apartment but the condition of the room is poorly maintain. The ceilings have heavy water stained as a result the room feel damp and unhygienic. Bath towels are worn and beddings torn. The only plus is because of the location.

I have stayed here many times in my visits to Malaysia. The only issue I had on this trip was that I could not get my iPhone nor my iPad to get on the internet. I had no problem with my Mac computer, but for some reason the other two simply would not connect. I did find the rate for the breakfast was excessive - without breakfast was $25 USD cheaper than with. There are places close by to get breakfast much cheaper (~$3.00)

I have stayed here many times. Great safe location next to mall and within walking distance to great places to eat. Comfortable rooms and well maintained. Breakfast is a bit pricey, though., and gym does not open until 7:00 AM (should be sooner). Would be nice if the pool was open later (closes at 9:00). Had problems with Wifi for my iphone and tablet, but not my computer.
