There's not a whole lot I can say that's positive about this place, other than it's cheap and in a good location (8 minutes walking to Beppu station).

The building is quite old and hasn't been renovated since it was built. The word that comes to mind is 'dilapidated'. The carpet is dingy, there are stains on the wall, and the walls are paper thin. Even though I opted for a private room, I could still hear everything in the communal bathroom and hallway.

I will say the tatami in the room was on the newer side, and the linens were quite clean. Also free rental bikes are provided which is a huge plus.

Overall, my standards were not high given the price but even then I was a little surprised by the state of the property. I've stayed in other similarly priced hotels/hostels that were in much better shape.

Also of note: this place does not provide you with a bath towel. You have to pay 50 yen per towel. I don't know why but it irks me when places do this. Just add it to the price of the room and give me a free bath towel lol. How are the bike rentals free but the bath towel is not???

In Japan I love older hotels with tatami bedrooms, and this one was perfect. Shoji screen doors slid out on 2 sides to reveal broad windows with views of the mountains. If you like traditional interiors and don't need a trendy, polished atmosphere, I highly recommend this place. Another bonus - it's a few blocks away from the Kitahama bus terminal, great for taking inter-city highway buses

The main check-in counter was in the separate building from the accommodation (this was a little odd). The kitchen wasn't very tidy. The onsen was very soothing and nice. The room was small but included a washroom and a sink, so that was convenient.

We checked into this hostel to get some rest after many many travel days and couch surfing. We had a room on the third floor which was super quiet and quite a large room. There was the option of a bunk bed or floor mattress/futon within the room so you could choose what you preferred.

The front desk staff spoke English really well and there were signs throughout the hotel explaining how things work, also in English. They also have information at the check in desk to help you find your way around to the local sights including bus information. It was very helpful. The check in desk is located slightly up the road from the actual hostel building but it's not hard to find.

Although check in wasn't until 3pm, they allowed us to leave our bags so we could explore the town from around 10.30am.

On the ground floor of the building there are male and female onsens, a kitchen and a lounge room for shared use by the guests. We didn't use them, but the option was there. There's also a footspa out the front of the hostel.

The twin room we booked had a private toilet and a shared shower room, located on the 2nd floor.

The hostel is located within easy walking distance from the station. Just use the seaside exit of the station and walk down the street moving away from the station toward the ocean. After you pass the car park, cross the small road and continue for one more block. Turn left and continue along the street until you reach the check in building with the hostel sign on it.

the atmosphere was simply terrific. you can meet all kinds of interesting travelers easily there. those staff members were very friendly and entertaining. some guests complained about the lack of facilities, but please be fair as it's a hostel anyway. what you pay is what you get. i love this hostel after all :)

Check in counter is 1minute walk across the street. Staff were friendly in assisting us and spoke very fluent English. The glass entrance access is via passcode which I feel safe. Only house slippers allowed upon entering, which ensures the cleanliness of the place. There's separate washroom, onsen available on ground level. Even though it's a hostel, our private toilet seat is always warm! Location for shower is just next door. Quilt provided was sufficient for a room without heater, even the temperature is below 5 in the night. Wifi is extremely weak, only available at our room entrance, which make it difficult to do booking and plan for our onward journey. There's a free foot hot spring spot for everyone before the entrance, which was nice after a long day of walking!

Stayed in mixed dorm of 5; 4 beds (the couple on my lower bunk rocked the bed for a little while). I slept as well as you can in a dorm bunk bed. The place was lively and beautiful. Games and Manga Collection provided along with tea and a small kitchen.

Staff is nice ladies. One of the staff not really understand the actual sight seeing of Beppu or not willing to reply me. For example, I borrow the bicycle to go to onsen but she said it is so far. She ask me to go to tourist information for giving information. The staff of tourist information tell me to take 10 mins of bus. However, I take 20mins cycling uphill to go.

Good Hostel with Useful English instructions

This is truly a hostel so expect those conditions. I had a small single room, servicable. It's all I was looking for

BIG PLUSSES 1) An onsen on the first floor! 2) Very detailed English instructions on how to get to many sites in town as well as suggestions on places to eat. 3) English speaking staff.

I like the spa hotel Khaosan Beppu a looooot, except its location. It was not really easy to find it from the train station, but not too difficult. I found it anyway, so it was okay in the end. Guests can hire bikes for free, and it is an awesome thing of this hostel. it is so beautiful to ride a bike around Beppu. If I travel around Beppu again, I'll definitely stay here again :) And staff are really nice and friendly!!

Got drenched in the rain on the way there but a hostel staff member kindly came out to greet us with a towel.
Our japanese style room was great for the budget traveller although our shower floor was not clean!
Desk is not manned 24 hrs so when we checked out early we had to carry our heavy suit cases down 3 steep flights of stairs by ourselves (2 women) - difficult.
The onsite onsen was tiny and we would like to suggest that it has a night time curfew, so that it's not noisy when trying to sleep.

No Excuse for Not Being Clean

Stay somewhere else as this place is run down and not clean. Located about a 25 minute bus ride from the main attractions. However, it is near to the Buppu train station and located in the city center.

There is no excuse for a hostel not to be clean. This place is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Spend a bit of money to replace the old, dirty carpets.

The front desk was not helpful as fat as tourist information goes and it is a hostel. Hostels are ALWAYS helpful with tourist information.

2段ベットで、荷物入れ（鍵付き）もありました。

駅から10分〜15分ぐらいだと思うので、
ご飯等は困らないかと。

【不便な点】
・エレベータは無いので、3Fまで階段です。
・トイレが2Fにしか無いです。
　男女共有なので、困る女性はいるかも

【その他】
1Fの共有スペースで、射的とかあるんですが、
夜中の0時頃に家族で騒いでやる人達とかいたので
21時頃には撤去しておいた方が良いかと感じました。
※ ホテルよりも客のマナーが悪いだけの話ですが。

温泉宿が国際的で面白い宿でした。

女性専用のはずでしたが、家族連れの方たちでしたけど、男性の方の声が聞こえていました。ベットの周りに他の国から来た方たちが自分たちの場所を取っていたので私は全ての荷物を自分のベットの上で開封した後もベットの上にトランクも置いてました。このベットはこの辺りでって決めていてくれたら嬉しいと思いました。全然、気の良い方たちだったので、他の事では気にならなかったです。また、エレベーターがなかったのですが、トランクをカウンターの方が持って来て3階まで持って来てくださいましたので、助かりました。トイレのドアノブが取れかかってきて、焦りました。ロッカーがローカにあったのは使い難く使用しませんでした。お風呂は風情のある温泉で良かったです。温泉の水質も肌がスベスベになって良かったです。

Mieux que ce que j'avais vu sur les photos. Il y a une grande cuisine commune bien entretenue et une salle de jeux et de quoi faire des barbes à papa soi-même. La chambre était déjà prête et nous avons pu faire le check in plus tôt ! J'ai apprécié le onsen car j'y étais seule avec ma fille. Pas besoin de réserver. Personnel très agréable. Chambre avec sanitaires et douche.
Proche du onsen Takegawara pour faire un bain de sable. Possibilité de se rendre aux enfers de Kanawa en prenant un bus. Les enfers sont sympa à visiter.

初めてドミトリーを利用しました。４人の相部屋で海外の方が多い印象でした(私以外は海外の方でした)。キッチンは共有スペースになっていて、電子レンジ、オーブントースター、電気ケトル、フライパン、食器類、炊飯器、冷蔵庫、洗濯機等日常生活で使うような物はだいたい、そろっているのでお米を持って行けば、炊飯器でたいて、できたてが食べれます。パンを持って行けば、トースターで焼いて食べれるので朝食にちょうどいいと感じました。
幅が狭い縦長の鍵付きロッカーがあるので、スーツや小物(手持ちバッグ)は入れる事ができますが旅行バックやキャリーケース等(大きい荷物)は入らないので部屋のジャマにならない所におくしかありません。
ドミトリーではない鍵付きの部屋の方が安心して泊まれると思いますのでそちらをオススメします。

Pour un prix similaire j'ai eu beaucoup mieux : oui il y un onsen dans l'hôtel mais il est tout petit, on a du attendre que les gens finissent leur douche et l'eau du bain est brûlante...
A l'arrivé le monsieur à l'accueil à vérifié mon passeport en l'amenant dans une autre pièce et a oublié de me le rendre. Je suis aussi fautive de part mon manque d'attention mais lorsqu'en panique je suis venue demander s'ils l'avaient trouvé ne sachant pas si je l'avais perdu ou si on me l'avait volé, le même monsieur n'était pas particulièrement inquiet de réaliser qu'il avait oublié de me le rendre...

価格から考えて妥当でしょう。特に新鮮な温泉に入れるのは別府ならではで疲れが取れました。立地もうるさくも無く、そこそこ便利で良かったです。また利用したいと思いました。ただあえて言えば私が宿泊した時は殆ど宿泊者がいなかったで良かったですが、壁が薄く館内の音は割合よく聞こえたので人が多かったり常識を弁えない人がいると印象が変わってくると思います。

リーズナブルだけど快適

二段ベッドの部屋に一人で宿泊しました。建物自体はそれなりに年季が入っており、部屋の中は小さな机がある程度で、トイレとバスは共用です。ですが別府は温泉街、外で温泉に入って寝るだけにしていたので、素泊まりでこのお値段はとても嬉しいです。と言いながら宿の温泉も気になって入りまして、小さいながら雰囲気が良く気持ち良かったです。
利用しませんでしたが、自由に使えるキッチンがあり、長期滞在にも良さそうです。今回は一泊だけでしたが、次回は少し長めに休みを取って滞在したいです。駐車場も一日700円で利用出来、とてもありがたいです。

　素泊まりで宿泊しました。フロントのタイのお兄さんが、色々と対応してくれて楽しめました。
　お風呂は古いですが、温度はやや熱めです。外の温泉に行くのもありですね。
　国道が近くコンビニや食事処、ショッピングモール近いです。別府タワーも近いです。

１度目はかぼすハウス本館シェアハウス、2度目の今回はかぼすハウスはまゆう1人部屋でした。1泊２５００円やそこらで館内にあるなかなかの温泉を独占して私は大満足しました。近くの温泉に行く必要などありませんね。

※私は八十八湯の全湯制覇を目指しているので、近くに沢山ある温泉に行きましたが、、、

安くて、温泉つき！

廊下や部屋の、絨毯の汚れが気になりました。素足では、歩きたくないですね〜。温泉の湯は、きれいでした。周辺は、100円温泉もあり、飲食店も
沢山あるので、便利でした。

일본 여행 하면서 이런 숙소는 처음이네요.
정말 무엇을 상상하든 그 이하를 보게 될 것입니다.
가지마세요... 지저분해요..
제가 있던 방은 창문도 다 안닫혀서 모기가 들어와서 엄청 뜯겨서 잠도 못잤구요
숙소 들어가면 쾌쾌한 냄새나요

이불하고 침대보는 안빨아요. 그래서 ㅎ호텔측에서 그냥 덮고 잘만한 시트 주거든요
시트를 그 이불위에 덮고 체크아웃하면서 시트도 뱃겨서 반납해야해요
비추요.
더럽고, 냄새나고, 시설 별로고, ...

また泊まりたい宿

すぐ近くに温泉があり、駅にも近く便利な立地に加え、雨の時に傘を貸してもらえ、突風で傘が壊れても嫌な顔せずに許してもらえたり、荷物の預かりなどとてもスタッフの対応が良かったです

田舎者には、ほっとする

家族三人で泊まりました。小さな温泉でしたが、良いお湯でしたよ。トイレが付いていたので、夜中安心でした。温泉を汲み上げるポンプかと思いますが、ずっと音がしています。静かなホテルでした。

Edullinen majoitus ei kovin kaukana juna asemasta.

Olimme yhden yön joten kaikkea kerenny tutkaaleen, mutta jännää oli että paikka on jaettu kahteen taloon ne sijaitsee toisistaan noin 30m, itse huoneet oli tilavia ja paljon henkareita ripustimiksi mikä oli huonoa niin ikkunassa oli rako josta hyttysiä pääsi sisään. Paikassa oli kylpylä ja keittiö.

Kodikas hotelli, avulias, kielitaitoinen h-lökunta

Hotelli vanhahko ja jonkun verran kulunut, ei hissiä, mutta toisaalta huoneet on isoja, meidän huoneessa oli jopa pieni parveke, kaappitilaa on runsaasti ja huoneen kokonaispinta-ala kaksinkertainen verrattuna normaaliin huonekokoon Japanissa. Erittäin avulias henkilökunta neuvoo, missä kannattaa käydä ja antaa mukaan kartat ja alennuskupongit. Suihkun puuttumista huoneessa en itse huomannut, koska Beppu on tunnettu kylpyläkaupunki ja kävin joka ilta kylpylässä.

因為星期六飯店價格高，入住青旅是個好選擇!!還可以接受的上下舖(須自己鋪床)，有溫泉浴池，還不錯!!櫃台人員英文好，旅遊資訊多，這是旅行日本特別重要的。
