Only three minutes from the station. Friendly efficient staff used to the questions & needs of tourists. Room was clean & comfortable though there was the distant rumble of trams even on the 5th floor. A tasty breakfast was appreciated but weird to only offer bacon at an extra cost. There are no bargains in Finland but Hotel Arthur offered reasonable value for money

This hotel is very conveniently located from the central station, within a very short walking distance. The room was clean and there are choices available for different number of people (which was very helpful for our group since our members have different arrival and departure dates). The staff was kind and helpful. The hotel staff allows flexibility check in (can give us the room as it is available) and check out (allows late check out as requested). The breakfast was also impressive, fresh and with variety of choices. Will recommend this hotel. One little thing to suggest is to provide some more space such as hooks in the bathroom.

Convenient location to Train Station.

Our room had windows covering one wall. There were street lights shining into our room at night. The curtains were very difficult to close as they seemed to be stuck in the track so the light was a continuous problem.
The shower drain was placed below the sink not in the shower. Since the tiles were not slanted towards the drain, the water flowed all over the bathroom. There was a squeegee to use to direct the water to the drain but the floor was still very wet and slippery. This is a safety concern.

Firstly the staff were great and accomodating. We originally booked a quadruple and for an extra fee per night they added an extra bed rather than having to get a single room.

The breakfast was extensive and my kids enjoyed it every morning.

The location was good for the train station and visiting the parkrun.

The hotel however is VERY tired. There was a constant smell around the toilets in the reception area and our dated bedroom. We asked maintenence to check the plumbing and the bathroom was cleaned again but the pungent smell remained, to the extent that my daughter was gaggjng when trying to brush her teeth, and we avoided spending time in the room.

The beds however were comfortable, despite the dated room and lack of frudge, etc.

We were staying in the main hotel above the restaurant, overlooking the school - i am not sure if other parts of the hotel had been refurbished or not.

I stayed 3 nights on the 6th Floor, in a very shabby room. The curtains were torn and hanging, they didn't pull open or shut. It was very basic, extremely dated, woodwork was chipped and generally reminded me of a basic bedsit room. However my fourth night a week later, booked at the same time was on my return from a rowing competition, and this night I had a single room on the 5th floor. This room was far more acceptable, almost incomparable and was more in keeping with what I had expected. It was however very noisy - guests on the same floor were obviously part of a small group and I eventually had to open my door and ask them to be a bit quieter - it was now 11:40pm and they had been back and forth to each others rooms - banging their doors and shouting through them to one another.

The Arthur Hotel is an excellent hotel located in the heart of Helsinki. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is older but well kept up. They have a nice buffet breakfast which is included in their rates. The hotel's location is very good as well. Its a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and a 10-15 minute walk from the waterfront/market area. It is also located next to a big park which is excellent for jogging and walking. The park connects to the 1952 Olympic Games site. So overall, this is a very nice hotel, in a very good location and I highly recommend it.

This comfortable clean Hotel was made even more pleasant by the friendly and very helpful reception staff. Herda answered all our questions about the area including restaurant recommendations and local activities. It is a great location being within easy walking distance of the central squares, parks, high end shopping and next door to the Botanical Garden. It is also an easy walk to the central train station and quite close to the ferry terminals. I definitely can recommend Hotel Arthur for your next stay in Helsinki.

Very friendly staff at check in and at breakfast, but the person checking out seemed a bit grumpy. I checked out quite early, so I think he was probably at the end of a long night shift.

It’s very close to the central train station and very convenient.

My room was at the end of a really long maze-like corridor, it felt like I had to walk for ages. The room was clean but the bathroom was very dated. The shower space was really small, once you pull the curtain over there was hardly enough room to turn around.

Breakfast was excellent. Good variety and taste good, and the staff there was very cheerful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Arthur. While this property is older, everything we saw was clean and well maintained. The room was smaller, but big enough for the two of us. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good, with options familiar to Europeans, Brits and North Americans. The Karelian pastries with egg butter were a fantastic find. And the location is ideal.

If you are here to see Helsinki, on your own dime, this is an excellent place to stay. Clean room, comfy beds and a delicious breakfast that will keep you going as you investigate the city until mid-afternoon.

I had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Arthur! We arrived at 3 AM, expecting to just store our luggage and check in later. To our surprise, the staff kindly offered us a room to check in immediately, which was incredibly helpful and made our arrival much smoother.

Additionally, the private sauna was a great touch and added to our overall enjoyment. The hospitality and comfort provided by the hotel made our stay memorable. Highly recommend!

Staff were very friendly and approachable. We arrived at 0800 in the morning and check in was not until 15:00 however staff said the room is ready now which was a welcome relief after travelling from Australia. There are a few steps to get to the lobby and then once you go up to your level in the lift, depending on your room location, there's potentially more steps you need to go up, then down, then up again to get there. The location of the hotel is excellent, it is located in the very center of the city, just next to the railway and bus station, while in a quiet coner.
Staff are very friendly, will do their best to meet your needs, with early arrival when ever they have a room available will give to you, very early check-out they will have your breakfast packed for you.
Room s are clearn and beds are comfortable.

Stayed for 2 nights. For what we needed and for the price we paid it was a perfectly lovely hotel.
Location is great, just a few mins walk from the station, and close to all the shops and restaurants you need.
Breakfast was good and was included in the price which was a plus.

The only downside was the room was quite dated and needs a refresh. Laminate flooring coming away, bangs and knocks on door frames needing a touch up. Bathroom was great, clean and bright and can’t complain at all.

Would certainly be in consideration if we come back to Helsinki.

We like this old but good hotel It is very historic building Very good location Front desk staff was very helpful but I was not happy with the restaurant staff They treat you very rude. They do their job but they should be kind to the customers we are not slave or thief. You need to eat at the restaurant if you did not finish your coffee or food you cannot carry it to the lobby they ask you pay for it We already know it because they put signs everywhere.
She was very rude to me because I got one regular and one gluten free bread She told me to pay one of them in a very rude way Please if you read this comment tell her to be polite to the customers. she could tell me in a nice way I felt very upset all day. Other than that I can recommend this hotel but be careful at the restaurant somebody is watching and bothering you when you eat😀
