I loved the location, as it’s tucked behind away on a quieter part of the island next to a beach that gets a lot less foot traffic. White beach is still minutes away, and they have a shuttle that takes you to d’mall which is a couple minute walk to white beach.

A disappointing stay at the aqua hotel Boracay, as a so called 5 star hotel. Check in was good however they changed our room last minute from the junior suite to the premier room, which meant we missed out on the bath tub.

At check in they asked if we wanted our room to be made up during our stay and what time . I said yes, 12 pm. However they did not make the room up during our stay. When I asked on our second to last day, they did eventually make up the room, you shouldn’t have to ask for this.

As I walked into the room it did smell. I had read this in previous reviews, claiming it was the curtains. It’s not the curtains, it’s a mouldy heat pump/aircon unit in my opinion. They need to sort that out, Smells horrible

The rooms have no irons, that’s poor. Do I have to call reception from my premium room to get one? That’s not 5 stars quality.

The rooms also have no minibar or food. They have two small complementary waters and two tea bags, two coffee capsules. Questionable for a 5 star hotel, also after they take a 6000 peso deposit on check in.

They have two sizeable pool areas. The bigger one closer to the entrance is falling apart and I almost slipped on a tile that came off completely as I stepped on it. I showed the staff. They just smiled and laughed a little. Be very careful with the areas of missing tiles, the edges are sharp and could cause injury, especially with children. See pictures below.

Aqua is a modern very clean resort. The staff are super friendly, very polite and helpful.
We were in suite with three bedrooms - annoyingly some of the downlights gave off a glow-in-the dark type light when turned off. For those who like a dark room sleep mask is essential. Pillows and mattresses were soft.
Good variety in breakfast. Lots of options. Would just like the lids on the warmers closed to keep food warm. Closed some but saw later they had been re-opened.
The two pool areas are lovely. Fantastic pools and cabana style loungers.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

We had high expectations when we booked a 3-bedroom suite for 3 nights, spending over ₱100,000, but our experience was far from luxurious. From day one, our room had a persistent and offensive smell—like urine—coming from the AC unit. The air conditioning in the living room was also not working properly, and we had to call maintenance every single day. Unfortunately, the issues were never fully resolved and kept recurring.

To make matters worse, we even found a cockroach in the living area, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be high-end.

For the price we paid, we expected comfort, cleanliness, and a truly luxurious experience. Instead, we were left frustrated, uncomfortable, and extremely disappointed. This hotel seems more focused on collecting your money than delivering quality service or hospitality. I strongly suggest spending your hard-earned money elsewhere—this place does not live up to its name.

I recommend Aqua Boracay. As an Architect. Impression is of an upscale contemporary beach club.
Minimalist detail from the double height entry lobby with metal fin sun/ wind/ rain louvres/ rare dimensional stone to permeable grass concrete paving. Hidden site drainage system complements flush pool/water nosing with recessed pool drainage.

Frameless glass balcony guardrails max views, linear concealed cove lighting in guest suites.. Fixtures and Furniture matched.

Fronting full height glazed main dining room with expansive garden and pool views.Moderately low scaled guest suite buildings internal courtyatds flank palm framed central pools leading to the clubhouse lounge and bar overlooking a beach side pool and access to the spectacular palm framed white sand beach!

This is a large hotel but the scale breaks down nicely between building courts to beach. Upkeep impeccable. Brunch setup well appointed grand dining room fronting entry arcade, gardens and palm lined pools. Site lighting design is sexy.

My only critiques are not design or service but detail like choppy wifi,
mosquitos beware as no screens on balcony sliding glass (full height glazing and views rule), at brunch the croutons for my ceaser salad -not crisp and chopped beef a bit well done.

Overall great under cover location. expansive site and close to D Mall.

2nd trip in Boracay and 2nd time booking at Aqua. This time around I didn’t like my initial premium room so they offered me a bigger one on the top floor I was very happy with, for a fee. Hotel is very clean, most of the staff is very courteous and greet you around the properties, only one of the male workers there didn’t seem as courteous, maybe he was a manager idk, didn’t get his name. Pools and room are excellently maintained, they take pride in having a high end property. This hotel is not on the beach where activities are but the shutter to Dmall is short and the walk to activities is maybe 5mins from there. This time I stayed for a week, I would say my only complaints are the breakfast buffet could have some more options and variation, it’s a little disappointing for a 5 star hotel. My favorite item the beef tapa is always a bit tough. The room service menu is very limited in variety so I only eat breakfast on site because it’s included with my stay. I ate my other meals off property because there is so many different options from Inasal to Mediterranean at the various restaurants. My 3rd visit to Boracay next year I may have to try a hotel near Dmall to see how things compare. Still loved my stay at Aqua, 9/10. I just want better food options.

Really good hotel. I havent been to Boracay since I was a teenager and 15 years later as an adult, I can say that this hotel made my stay.

Breakfast - not too many options for a 5 star hotel, however I stuck to traditional Filipino breakfast which they had and it was delicious, especially the champorado that was available.

Staff - staff were very friendly and welcoming, everyone greeted you hello every time you walked past. I was greeted with a welcome drink and a wet towel to wipe the sweat off my face and neck. I asked if I could extend my stay for an extra night and this was arranged without any issues and I just had to go over to reception to pay the amount.

Hotel Amenities - The area around the two pools are really nice and well laid out. Beautiful view. Towards the adult pool at the back is the eastern beach of boracay, and it is much less crowded than the main beach. There is a smoking area, as you cannot smoke on the balcony which is a good thing as it encourages less littering. The gym is really nice, doesnt have all of the equipment, but good enough for a decent workout. The only issue with the gym is that the AC is not that strong and the Philippines being a hot country, it was a nightmare working out in there.

Town - there is a hotel shuttle that goes to town (dmall) every hour which is convenient if you dont want to talk. However, it takes 5-7 minutes of walking time to get there so it depends on your mood.

the place was nice with beach access but was told it’s not safe to swim at the beach because it was dirty; food from room service was awful, the burger was not prepared well since it’s still bloody, when i told them that i couldn’t eat it and has lost my appetite because of the blood, they won’t give a refund and was told that they will just re-cook the food; which part of lost my appetite didn’t they understand? food was not good and was not eaten so i shouldn’t have been charged for it.

We had a great stay at Aqua overall. The staff were friendly and effective, always happy to help and made us feel welcome from the start. The property itself is spacious and offers excellent access to a quiet beach, which was a definite highlight.

Dining, however, was a real downside. There seemed to be many supply issues, with quite a few items unavailable during our stay: though amusingly, many of them could be found at a stall just outside the property! I struggle to understand why the hotel manager would not procure these items from nearby. The 'evening' restaurant lacked ambiance being just the breakfast restaurant with a different menu so we did not visit. The in-room dining menu was very limited. As a result, we did not spend very much at the hotel and had to leave to avail of things we wanted. In addition, breakfast was mostly run by interns, which meant it often lacked that touch of experience you would expect. The variety of dishes was also limited, with the same options appearing each day.

All that said, the good outweighed the bad and it was a relaxing stay in a beautiful location. I will consider staying here again on my next trip, but I hope the hotel can take note of all the lost opportunities for revenue (most menu items missing, no real evening dining opportunity, no spa menu available without going there etc.).

We absolutely loved our stay at Aqua! What made it more special was how friendly and hospitable their staff were :) They greet you with a smile anywhere you go in the resort! The property is also located in a more private area in the island which we also loved! They even provided us a banig for the beach!

Transportation pick up and drop off was also arranged seamlessly ahead of time and you can just tell the quality of their services from the moment we stepped foot in the island. We loved loved loved our stay here!

Stayed here for 3 nights the 3 pools and the centrally located bar were the highlight of this resort. The private beach was a nice touch because it was not overcrowded and I enjoyed all the staff being attentive, nice, enthusiastic, & professional. The room itself was spacious however I don’t know if it was my room specifically but the water pressure for the shower was weak that would be my only complaint. Overall it’s a really great resort for a couple or even a family it offers supreme customer service & amenities and I will come back.

Our room was very spcacious with a large, comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom. The room was very quiet at night. There is a large wardrobe but only 3 hangers and no real drawer space in the room which wasnt ideal. Note they will only service your room if you contact reception and ask.
The pool areas had a good variety of different types of seating in the sun and the shade. The hotel is beside the windy beach so ideal for wind surfers or kite surfers.
There is a shuttle to and from DMall but it is less than a 5 minute walk so we walked there and back each night.
The breakfast buffet was large and varied

We had a fantastic stay at Aqua Boracay! The hotel is clearly new and as it’s on the other, less developed side of the island, it benefits from a lot more space. This means the pool area is as stunning as the pictures and was a real treat to chill there. What really stands out is the service as every colleague is genuinely friendly and welcoming. They are consistent in their greeting and desire to help, no matter the time of day. We had a nice room which was spacious and nicely laid out, and was only one of the lower spec rooms so if you bag a suite then you’re in for a treat! The hotel is about a 5 min walk to D’Mall and no more than 10 mins to the beach at station 2, so isn’t in the main action but close enough to be there quickly and step away from the chaos to a quieter resort. The hotel also offers an hourly shuttle to and from D’Mall if you need it. Other than being in a quieter location the only other watch out the beach on this side is less developed and mainly for Kite surfers. If you want to relax at the beach and hire sun lounger / gets drinks then you’ll need to go to the main side of the island. This also meant it was very windy! It’s great that no one can smoke on their balcony but our only improvement would be that our room was at back of complex, near the smoking area, which meant we got the rancid smell of smoke every time we left our staircase (not in room) so would be good to give smokers these rooms as smell is awful. Overall a great stay at Aqua Boracay!

If you want a 5 star hotel in quiet neighborhood right beside the activity center, this is the right place for you. The hotel is new and occupies a large beach front lot. Staff are very professional and courteous. It is within 10 min walking distance to the D’Mall, where are all the shops and restaurants. If you have family with young children, you should select this property. They also provide shuttle/ferry service between the airport and the hotel at reasonable price. Strong recommend using it.

We had some teething problems with checking in , however once the Ops Manager Joy stepped in , everything was rectified and the staff did everything possible to make sure we had a great stay .
The hotel is on Bulagbong beach the quiet side of the island which was a great decision. The pools are wonderful and plenty of beds for guests and a great area to relax .
Guests can relax on this beach or walk to the white beach which is 10 mins away . There is a great bar / restaurant on this beach Lantern which we loved .
The property is spotless and our suite was very comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing and watching movies.
The hotel arranged our land and island hopping trips and the paid transfer to the airport meant that we were fast tracked to their transfer boat .

The staff are very nice and accommodating. The place is beautiful and clean. The air conditioning isn’t he living room wasn’t working well, the room was still warm even when the thermostat is set at 16 degrees with max fan setting. We need towel hooks or bars close to the shower in the bathrooms in the 3 bedroom suites.

Overall this place is absolutely wonderful. Other than the HUGE pool, the service from everyone is just exceptional. Rooms are spacious and clean with nice bathroom. The breakfast is full of options. Quite expensive pool bar menu for the Philippines, in some cases more expensive than what you could find in a western country. Good food. But then again, they are a 5* hotel.

Overall we had a great stay. Fantastic if you are exhausted and just want to chill out.

Despite having some issues the first two out of the 6 days from a staff member, The rest of our stay was fantastic. Manager Ria or Reah (sorry for the spelling) stepped in to resolve the issue in a professional manner which we greatly appreciate. The staff were accommodating and the securities kept the resort safe. I would like to mention Security Jano for your service sir. To all the OJT’s job well done and good luck to your next journey in life. The resort is well kept, Safe and great pool area. We booked the 3 bedroom unit. The location was great with the ocean and pool view. One of the best resort around the area that we saw for sure.

Outstanding service from the staff - Chean, who assisted us during our check in and check out, kuya Honor, Nico, who picked us up g om tge airport and took us to the hotel, our house keppers, who cleaned our room to an immaculate standard, the chefa during breakfast, the breakfast staff, who were all very courteous and helpful, the pool attendants and the ground staff. We really felt looked after during our stay.

Great quiet location with a great spread of breakfast included. Walkable to kite beach and Dmall and white beach. The place is clean and security guarding at all times. The resort hosts pool party and DJ and music events on special occasions. Very courteous and welcoming staff. They keep the premises very clean. We were there with family n kids during New year week and we had a blast. Resort experience includes gym and massage as well, which is like a cherry on the top. They also provide airport shuttle to and fro. Overall highly recommended. Only glitch we felt was that we had accidentally booked an extra day ( we stayed there for more than 9 days) which they weren't willing to refund atleast partially. That was a bummer.

Lovely clean hotel, staff friendly.
Restaurant very overpriced for what was on offer. Local beach has the delightful kitesurfers but is full of litter (we did a litter pick). A local scheme asking surfers to collect a small bag of rubbish each time would resolve this and make the hotel more attractive. Drinks were ok but not exceptional. Beds a little hard but rooms generally comfortable and very spacious. Breakfast was great. I would say this is an overpriced hotel for what is offered.

This is the resort to go if you want peace and quiet and far from the crowd and noise. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. The place is very clean and well-maintained, the beach is okay and not the best one but the pools are great. The breakfast buffet selection is good but they can do better. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to my other family and friends.

The hotel itself looks nice and clean. Staff is courteous and polite. Food is ok and is missing some of the authentic Filipino flavors. The biggest drawback is that they could be more organized. There were instances that the communication could be improved on. During the NYE, we rented a cabana but a lot of the cocktail drinks were unavailable, they ran out of ice and the drinks were served warm, on top of that it took the team at least close to two hours to serve the first drink/bottle to us. It was disappointing and killed the NYE vibe.

My stay was great all around! I celebrated my birthday there and the staff even sang to me and gave me cake. Everyone was friendly, the pools were amazing, the grounds were always maintained and kept clean and our room was always made up and spotless. All of them - the groundskeeper, the spa staff, front desk, breakfast staff, beach security, lifeguard, housekeeping, the guide and drivers of the shuttle, etc, a big thank you for making our vacation so memorable.
