The room stank like mold from the air conditioner. They also admitted that they take pictures of your room when they come in to clean. I am still dealing with this as it’s a huge privacy violation. Beware that they take pictures of your things if you stay here

Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and airy air conditioned family room with a large balcony, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and nice pool area. Staff were friendly and helpful, which was much appreciated as this in my experience is not always a given in Italian hotels. Some complaints about location but its only a 20 minute walk into the centre and a regular bus 6 into town until 7ish and the pool makes it well worth it. Taxi back from the Centre was only 8 euros from thextaxi rank in the main Piazza. Nice comfortable hotel, reasonable rates. Cant go wrong. Highly recommended. Only suggestion is a drying rack on the balcony would be useful. Thanks for a lovely stay in the beautiful city of Parma.

The air conditioning didn’t work / wasn’t sufficient to cool the room at this hotel which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the third bed was a rollaway sofa so it wasn’t as comfortable as expected! That said, we booked quite late so potentially there wasn’t enough time for the hotel to change it to a proper bed.

They don't understand the business.

This is a place that has everything to be perfect but fails on the important things. First, the building and the conditions are excellent. The the building and rooms look like new and everything is in perfect condition. Super clean and everything taking care of.

The problem is that management does not seem to understand that the idea is to keep the clients happy. We have a couple of problems that are typical in Italy (if you are not from Italy be prepared because it is not uncommon). The main problem is the lack of AC. Even though the hotel states that they do have it, they do not turn it on. Basically, they only turn it on if you are close to the boiling point (in case you don't know, in Italy AC is considered evil). We had a couple of hot nights, and the staff claim that it was not hot enough to activate the AC. They told us to open the windows. The problem is, the trains pass in front of the hotel. So, you have to choose between being hot and the noise! As a result, we didn't sleep for three nights.

That said, the staff is professional. It is just a cultural problem. However, these kind of problems should not appear in a 4 stars hotel that accept internationals. I have a couple of extra examples of the sort, but let's just leave it at that. Advice, if you are looking for a good place to relax and have the basics, do not come here. I definitively won't.

The staff at front desk are not polite, spoke to me in a rude tone, not prepare to welcome people, and definitely made my stay become a very bad experience. They treated me with no respect, they don’t speak any other language than italian, they told me, that being in Italy, Italian MUST be spoken, so it showed me they might be prepare only to receive locals and not interested in international travelers. In the other hand, the staff at the breakfast restaurant was polite, educated and helpful, the front desk staff needs to take MANY tips/ advices from them. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel and will never again stay in this hotel. I spend more than 100 usd for one night stay and for me it’s was not worth even one penny.

Beautiful hotel with many upgrades, good location and seems to be a business hotel, we have been traveling during off season. Only 1 issue with the hotel there was a painter doing touch ups and came in our room when we were put on a tour. He took my makeup bag off the stool in the bathroom and put it into the bidet so he could use the stool instead of using a ladder.

Hotel is well located with free parking if you are driving and great breakfast for low price. The Staff was amazing, the initial room i was given was too warm due to heat wave going thru that week. We chose the hotel mostly because they have parking but were very pleasantly surprised to find how good the hotel is. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, particularly the bar/restaurant staff who were absolutely charming. The food was some of the best I had in Italy and the prices very modest. If you eat there I suggest asking the waiter for his recommendations- you will not be disappointed. Location is easily walkable to the center, through a fairly rundown area, but still acceptable. Our bedroom was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lobby is lovely and the ground floor restroom is the prettiest I have ever seen. I would recommend this family owned hotel.

Parma for family!

Arrived in Parma for a full day food tour. Very little time at Hotel. However the staff were very good. We arrived back late and decided to take advantage of our 10%discount provided by hotels.com (make sure you ask at the front desk for the voucher first) The Hotel Restaurant had exceptionally good food and service. The rooms were very comfortable clean and spacious. Wish we had had more time to explore Parma. Definitely stay there again!

Unbeknownst to me, the biggest Italian football game was being held at the stadium the night I arrived in Parma. I was unable to get to my pre-arranges hotel. I Googled and Best Western Plus took Amazing care of me! Upgraded my room and offered food right before kitchen closed at 10pm. So thoughtful and kind! I slept like a dream in there beautifully appointed and newly renovated room. Truly grateful. Well done. Bonus, 40 police officers attending the event stayed in this hotel. The safest place in Parma!

Fist visit to Parma solo...

Francesca was great to assist me. I was changed to a better room after I complained. Everyone was super nice even the housekeeper and barista Marco. Gym and breakfast were boring. I needed a large document printed and Luca was a big help. He also assisted with questions regarding drivers. The location was far from the city center so I had to take taxis. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

From the moment we walked into the hotel, it was everything we needed and more! Front desk, Luca(?), excellent receptionist. Professional, friendly and extremely helpful. We were very tired and our needs were recognized and addressed without having to ask. We were assisted to our room by the Bellman (name?) who was helpful, friendly & efficient. Our room was very handsome, comfortable, spacious with all the modern conveniences. Despite being told hotels in Italy do not have King size beds, our room had had a very comfortable King Size bed. Plenty of electrical outlets and 2 USP ports.
Very helpful in calling taxi cabs that arrived within 5 minutes as promised. Easily printed our airline boarding passes for the next morning with out charge. We only had an afternoon and evening in Parma at the end of our trip to Italy. We were given perfect suggestions. We had a lovely lunch and leisurely afternoon wandering Parma’s historic religious center.
The only 2 “issues”, were quickly & delightfully resolved. #1-our room air conditioner not cooling and noisy. Told the front desk before dinner and it was fixed when we returned. #2-dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was full & we had to wait a bit to be seated. They clearly weren’t expecting to be so busy. But it was “all hands on deck” and the staff handled the situation beautifully making a difficult situation for them enjoyable for us.
Only true criticism-NOT close (walkable) from train station & city center.

- Room not spacious for a 4 star hotel, the bed occupies more than 50% of the room
- The AC is noisy, not effective (because is under a table) and not controlled in the room but by the receptionist, not allowing to control the temperature and the fan, just to turn off or turn on
- The bathroom is small for a 4 star hotel
- The breakfast has not simple french crunchy croissant, only with sweet or chocolat. And the scrumbled egs are badly cooked and burned
- There is no natural orange juice in the breakfast, just a watery artificial one.
- There are no premium channels in the TV of the room, so to watch football we have to use the TV of the Hotel hall
- The space around the swimming pool is small, not allowing enough sunshade and lounger chairs for the guests during the summer
- There is a stupid tourist tax of 3.5€ por day which is not included in the room fee and only communicated in the check out.
- The recpetionist staff is not nice

My new second home!

Absolutely loved this place. The staff were so lovely especially my new amici Marco! He just made our stay. Could not have done enough for us. Best joke ever explaining why he is a bit think on top - he gave away a hair for every woman he has loved lol! The pool was a welcome relief from the heat and the room was very comfortable with the added extra of the balcony. I will be back as soon as I can!

Nice hotel, recently refurbished.

Staff is friendly, helpful, and all speak some English, most are fluent. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is clean and spacious, breakfast is good and varied, restaurant is good and not outrageously priced. Not much within walking distance of the hotel, but taxi service is quick and not too expensive. Fare to Piazza Maggiore is about 7 euros. Pool is nice and well maintained.

Location very handy to short drive to center of town parking. Wonderful staff! (Marco is over the top enthusiastic about helping people!) The free breakfast was very extensive and good. When we ate in the restaurant they went out of their way to serve by gluten free wife delicious alternatives to things on the menu. Very good value.

Disappointed with the service. Hotel receptionist insisted that I didn't make any reservation and kept blaming hotels.com for the system error. Managed to resolve somehow without providing us any explanation or apology for the hiccup. Didn't tell us upfront where and when is the complimentary breakfast and we thought there was no breakfast when it was already included in the hotel charges.
The room facilities available description on the hotels.com website can be misleading. It says there is tea/coffee maker. In fact, there is NO tea/coffee maker available, in other words, no hot water. When I confirmed again with the same receptionist on where is the water, he said need to purchase through the minibar. But still no hot consumable water was available. Suggest that the descriptions of the hotel be updated on hotels.com and be more honest. Hotels.com states city tax of €2 per person. This is wrong. It should be €3 per person. Lots of discrepancies between what was stated on hotels.com and reality. Very upset. Luckily I only stayed here for 1 night, which is more than enough.

I did not like this hotel. No drawers for your clothing and no place for your toiletries in the bathroom. Requested a bathtub but not possible. Stall shower is all plastic with a hand held shower and no force, just dripped. Room was cold beginning of Oct. and was told no heat until Oct. 15th. no matter what kind of weather. Breakfast was fine but restaurant not very good. I love the food in Italy and this was not up to par. Town restaurants were great.

We were on our way to Tuscany and stopped to spend the night. Everything was very nice to include the breakfast buffet, friendliness of the staff, room cleanliness and location. We were able to walk to the centre for dinner. My only complaint was the room (and my sister's room) were very warm. It was very uncomfortable for sleeping.

Stayed for 1 night whilst on a tour of Italy. Nice hotel, very clean, very nice complimentary breakfast. Chose this hotel as we had a hire car and it offered free parking. Location isn't great, it's a bit out of town to be able to walk in, so if we weren't driving then we would have probably chosen something more central. Overall, very good. Would stay there again only if driving.

It is am old refurbished building. Bathroom has been fully redone and is absolutely new and modern. Room layout, and furniture and blessings are generally old and washed out. The swiming pool is tiny. The stay overall was okay bit I would not chose this hotel for my next trip to Parma. Breakfast was excellent with good deflation of bio products and nice variety

Just what we wanted

I wasn't sure about booking this hotel but it looked ok on the web and it was ideally situated between France and Pesaro, where we were headed for an opera festival. It was clean, had a simple but satisfactory breakfast buffet, charming and friendly staff, free internet and free parking. If you want a basic place to stay in the Parma region, look no further.

Wonderful service!

We spent one night at the Best Western Farnese in a family room (one double and bunk beds).
The receptionist was very friendly, he spoke many languages and made us feel welcome. The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool and we had dinner at their restaurant. The food was excellent and the server, Marco, went above and beyond so we would have an excellent experience. He explained the dishes in detail and let us sample different wines and liquors from the region.
Breakfast was included and offered a wide variety of cold cuts, fruits, breads, cereal etc
Parma was about 15 min away by car but for our stopover it was the perfect location.

It is about two kilometers away from the historical center--so about a 25 minute walk. Other problem is breakfast room is too small, so you will have to wait for a table at morning rush hour. Positives are free/plentiful parking, free wifi. No problem with service or room.

Lift your game in the reception.

We knew we would have to wait to check in as the train we caught got in too early (12.00 noon). We explained this to the check in people and they said we would have to wait 2 hours. Fair enough - we understand that.. We sat and waited for 2.5 hours then I asked the desk politely \"is a room likely to be ready soon\"?. It apprears the room had been ready for some time. The check in staff just didn't notice us in the foyer right in front of them. There would not have been any other staff in any other hotel in Europe that would not have at least kept us informed at least once in 2.5 hours we sat in front of them.

In the room, the tap fell off and the shower plug was not working. 4 star - not a chance. Hotels need to realise that 1st impressions last and 4 Seasons you have lost a customer.

Flott hotell, sentralt og med tilgjengelig parkering, det finnes også offentlige gratis parkering 5-10 minutter gange fra hotellet. Rommet, et familierom var stort og fint, med liten kjøkken krok. Det var lyst moderne innredet.
