Well the younger Indian gentleman working the front desk was charging my credit card for the room and twice my card declined so I called and made sure it wasn’t locked and asked him how much he was charging he said 73.00 dollars so it declined again. I immediately went across the street to the gas station and used the atm and it let me take 140.00 out so that makes me think he was doing something shady to my credit card but couldn’t. Just be careful when using your card there.

This stay was disappointing from start to finish. The sheets had blood stains and were a dingy white, which was unacceptable. We were only allowed two towels at a time, even though the room had a hot tub — not very practical. The shower curtain was satin, ripped, and had visible mold. On top of that, the internet was out the entire weekend. Definitely not worth the price. Wouldn’t stay here again

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the beds were comfortable and the room was kept clean — but everything else made this stay incredibly frustrating.

We had 3 adults and 1 teenager in our room, but the front desk told us management only allows 2 towels per room. I was shocked. I politely asked if he expected us to share towels, and he eventually gave us just one more. That still wasn’t enough. To make matters worse, we only had one washcloth, and after the first day, it was never replaced. I had to go all the way to the front desk to ask for more.

The cleaning staff didn’t speak English, so asking for basic items like towels or soap in the hallway didn’t work. Even worse, they took the soap and never replaced it, so I had to go out to Walmart just to buy a bottle of soap to wash our hands. Some of the towels and a pillowcase were stained, which is unacceptable, even for a budget hotel.

The “breakfast” was also a disappointment — just bread, cereal, coffee, juice, and some small yogurts. No eggs, no hot food. I had to go to the front desk (where the worker was just sitting on his phone) to ask for napkins and more bread. It felt like everything was bare minimum and poorly managed.

I knew this was a Super 8, so I wasn’t expecting luxury — but I never expected to be treated like this. Only 2 towels for a room with 4 people? That’s ridiculous. I’ve stayed at budget hotels before, but this was beyond frustrating.

I will never stay at this hotel again.

Lowering Standards at a Chain Motel

It’s yet another example of foreign ownership buying into the chain and cutting every corner possible. Musty odors, unworkable remote control, broken elevator, broken jacuzzi, no smoke detector, broken lamp, clangy refrigerator…skimpy breakfast all help lower our impression of what used to be a higher quality chain motel. Oh well.

Poor service. I tried calling for two days before check-in, and no one answered the phone. When we got there, the desk was empty. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. The pictures online looked nothing like the hotel as I feel like the pics were taken about 15 years ago. The lobby looked run down. The pool was dirty and the lights above the pool were broken and looked unsafe. We ended up not even checking in and going to a different hotel.

Dirty sheets, no fire alarm in room, no light bulbs in 3 of the light fixtures. When we first got there they were having problems with there jacuzzi. Then when we asked to get towels to get into the Jacuzzi once it was working they had none so we had to use our wet bath towels. Then the next day they came and changed the sheets because we complained . Then they took our towels and forgot to leave clean ones. When I went to ask they were out of clean towels .There was a hole in the bathroom wall. The only thing that was great was the front desk people. Then the vent above the pole looked like it was going to fall out of the ceiling. Requested refund but they said they couldn’t because it was a 3 rd party reservation. Then we thought we were going to get a free hot breakfast included and instead all they had was 2 different cereals, yogurt, coffee and orange juice . We will never stay here again!

So the people that work there are very nice. Super nice . I know the review is a little harsh but im being honest and sharing how my visit went. So my friend and i came there just on our way through the state and it had a clean property its not in a gorgeous area . But the building its self is just outdated . Checking in was easy they were nice and they offer a later checkout for a couple extra bucks which i loved . The room was sleepable for a night . Me and my friend checked the beds and everything before bringing the stuff in and that looked fine . The bathroom had \"hair \" from someone else on the toilet and tub and we hovered and didnt shower there because the tub has no screen or anything just a filthy hole in a stained or dirty tub and just a hairy drain. So we thought NOPE.and when people stay somewhere they should be able to shower . The rest of the room was okay its just the smell was off putting its like a mix of musty and moldy and moist thars the 3 best words to describe it. Im guessing the carpets in the place . So that could be switched to hardwood for fake tile and it would be better. The tv was fine . I liked the lamp with the green base that was pretty and like i said the staff are so nice , i probably would not stay there again just because i need to shower but if they ever updated things i would give it a chance just not anytime soon and for the price its good for a night or 2 i probably wpuldnt take kids with me there but i have seen others with theirs.

Well I am not the type to leave a bad review but this one is definitely well deserved. The back door was always open so anyone could get in, there was no smoke detector in our room, our deadbolt wouldn't lock, the keys that were given to us only one worked my husband took the key back to be fixed but then the other key wouldn't work, there were only two towels in the bathroom when we were there. And thank god we brought our own bedding with us because the bedding looked like it hadn't been cleaned. We would have been better off camping in a tent!!!!! It took me 15 minutes to find the person to check in and when we checked out I was told to leave the room keys on the desk. I will absolutely not be staying in this hotel chain ever again. And I added pictures of the bedding when I lifted up the top cover.

This was far rhe worst experience ever was nasty and the phone was no even connected to contact the front desk. The kind was not a real king side bed and i paid extra for it, the place was disty and the brakefast was cerial and white bread. I was not going to eat it anyways but just point it out. Even though the property was non-smoking, our first room reeked of smoke. We asked to move and they moved us to a much better smelling room. Our towels were removed and never replaced. We had to go to the front desk and ask for more towels and were told, there were none available. This was unacceptable. The desk manager went to an unoccupied room to get us new towels. Breakfast was a joke. Although the website says there is a full breakfast, there was only bread to toast, yogurt and cereal. I'd say this was more of a lite breakfast not full. It was disappointing on many levels. As a matter of fact, we didn't even stay the last night of our booking as we opted to leave early and head for home.

To begin with I requested and was confirmed for a room with 1 queen bed from the Expedia online web site. At check in I was surprised to be given a room with with two full beds. I filled out the Expedia per-check in registration that was promised to save me time, (it didn't as this Super 8 \"don't have that\"). I also filled out an Expedia online form requesting a late check out time which also was a waste of time as this Super 8 does have that online stuff. Still it had a nice pool according to the Expedia web site, the web site fails to mention that the pool is closed for renovation. As for the room, a hair on the pillow case and rouge on another pillow case presumably from a previous guest. To the mold in the bath tub mat to the \"brown substance\" on the grab rail behind the toilet to the hold in the bathroom door. While I did not expect a four star hotel for price I paid, I did expect a clean room and fresh linen.

The owner whydham needs to be called. As far as the general manager Andy does not take care of this hotel. Neither does the first or third shift desk clerk Dawn the 2nd shift clerk is awesome. Cobwebs in the rooms.There basically is no breakfast bread and cereal is basically it. I felt bad for the workers and supplied breakfast the one morning more than bread and cereal. The general manager Andy needs to step up his plate and take care of this hotel like he takes care of his family.

The woman who worked the front desk when I checked in was amazing, so kind. She is the only reason why I rated staff a three. She gets a five star rating by herself. The hotel itself and all the other staff I’d dealt with from this hotel? Two stars.

The “breakfast” listed is literally cereal, toast, muffins or granola bars. Don’t expect to not buy breakfast if you want something more.

The hotel room we were given reeked of stale smoke and mildew. We brought both of our dogs and one of them puked on the second bed in the room. We requested someone to just bring us a bed spread for us to replace. We explained multiple times to the staff we were uncomfortable letting them in our room while we were there with our dogs, yet they would not allow us to put our own bed spread on the bed that was soiled, causing our dogs to become upset.

There are also people who are permanently staying in the hotel that also had animals. The entire time we were at this location, there were two other dogs that were constantly barking. The walls were super thin and you could hear EVERYTHING.

It’s good for a cheap place to stay, but if you have back problems, the beds are not for you. I’d also recommend bringing some type of spray or plug in to make the room smell better while you’re there.

Not worth more than $40-50 a night.

Good price. Comfortable and clean. Our only complaint was that the water in the shower would not turn off completely. There was a constant trickle of very hot water coming out of the tub faucet all night. (Room 209, I believe, in case a plumber wants to fix this.) Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay. This was a horrible stressful trip. First, the tv did not work, room was dirty, and we didn’t have towels (thankfully the wonderful lady, the only good thing about this trip helped us out.). The ice maker on the second floor was broke. The breakfast was coffee, juice, cereal, and stale bread, and I think a few yogurts, then we were trying to rest and the door hanger was on the door as not to disturb and housekeeping just kept beating on the door. No snack vending machines only drinks. If you are going to travel, save the stress and stay at the Super 8 Wyndham in Gettysburg. They are beyond 5 Star wonderful there.
