Perfect idyll

Fabulous little hotel right on the river. The room had a gorgeous waterfront view from the balcony, beds were comfortable, everything was clean. Fantastic breakfast spread in the morning. Staff helpful and kind. It was just perfect!

We have used this lovely hotel each time we stop off en route.

When we booked this hotel back in September last year, one of the requirements we needed was own parking which this hotel had.

When we stopped there this time, we were advised that we couldn't use their car park as they had sold it and there was a possibility of free parking about 200 metres away.

400 meters away there were only 2 spaces available and that was only half hour after check in commenced.

This meant we weren't confident we could go out in the car and be able to find a space when we got back.

We had driven 400kms to get there.

Such a shame, lovely hotel, lovely location but not really what we need now

Staff were very helpful, but if you're lucky enough to get a balcony it comes with problems, the views are excellent, but the noise from the Rhine (barge's) and the train's on the opposite bank can disrupt your sleep , my advice is pack your ear plugs and have a fantastic time.

Great location in Boppard. The room was small not made up for our booked number of guests, once the bed was made up the sheet did not fit correctly and the beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was adequate, tinned fruit was an option!
The hotel itself is very dated, ate in restaurant this was not the best either, over use of salt on the schnitzels and fries. We will not be rushing back to Boppard, and would not use the hotel again.

Hotel Rheinlust Boppard

In our opinion this is a budget hotel, however as we were lodged in the annex building it's hard to know what the rooms in the actual hotel are like. We had the feeling we were staying in a block of flats from the appearance through to the room. The room was clean with plenty of space, simply furnished. Bathroom was nicely finished for the most part, but towels were well past their best, even threadbare! Booked room with river view which we had (just) as room set back looking over car park. Good choice of things for breakfast but no fresh juices. Hotel complex is vast and seems to cater for large tour groups. Limited car parking facilities although free 5 mins away.

Hit night in Boppard!

One night stay to visit Rhine region. Nice traditional hotel in perfect location but temperature that day was so hot and without air conditioning the sleep was miserable. In addition, the fish fly’s ( what they call mosquitoes) were so numerous we didn’t dare open windows, not that it would have mattered.

Stay in April stay at Hotel Rheinlust, Boppard

Lovely location for visiting the Rhine Valley. You can catch a train into Koblenz, cost 3 euros and your there in 15 mins. You can also hop on the boat cruises and go either way. We went down to Bacharach about 25 kms away. Then travelled back in stages, hop on and hop off. Spent time in a few of them. Only cost 16 euros { 0ver 60s} return.Great value. The hotel although a little dated was great. We had a balcony overlooking the river and could watch the boats and barges pass by. The staff were really great, nothing was too much trouble. On our last day we left early (6 am) the night manager put the coffee machine on early, just for us. He also offered to prepare us some breakfast but we declined. They really make you very welcome. I will return.

The room we had was spot on , although not directly facing the Rhein we had a Rhein view . However if you dislike train noise the railway system is very active and can be heard throughout the night . Having said that I would say every Hotel on the Rhein suffers the train noise . The staff are very pleasant and the room service is very good .

Good sized room with balcony overlooking the river. Lots of storage space, smallish bathroom but okay. Room could have had a fan as it was hot. Great laundry service and reasonably priced. Trains across the river noisy and constant. River ferry only a couple of minutes away. Train station an easy ten minute walk. Close to shops and restaurants. Take a walk along the river promenade in both directions, really lovely.

Even though it is advertised as having parking, it doesn't really. Ten spaces for the whole hotel. I was told , I was buying a room and not a parking space.

Stayed one night. Our room was in the building adjacent to the main one of the hotel. Both are just on the Rhine promenade. This is a very scenic spot, however it has its own \"price tag\" since there is some noise coming from the ships going on the river and the trains (either on this or the other river bank) starting their activity about 6 am. Nevertheless, the stay was comfortable, the breakfast was good and WiFi worked very well.

Good value accommodation in The Rhine Valley.

The Rheinlust is in a prime location, in the lovely town of Boppard. The hotel is very well placed for the river cruises down to Koblenz or up the Lorelei, seeing castles and picturesque traditional Rhine Valley towns. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with little in the way of 'frills', but good value. We have stayed many times.

Rheinlust is located right on the Rhine river. The room we stayed in was a family room, which had a double bed, a sofa and coffee table, and a separate room with a twin bed and a trundle bed. The bathroom was large and clean. The room was decorated nicely. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a large selection of items. The staff was friendly and we were able to communicate with them easily. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very relaxing location. Great river view. Helpful staff, but not everyone was fluent in English, which caused some problem at checkout. I would recommend staying for a number of days and relaxing. The hotel was wheelchair accessible, but we had to go in the back door and through the kitchen. They did provide a key of independent access.

The staff was very helpful in providing parking and directing us to the wheelchair access, although we needed to enter from the back and go through the kitchen. They had a lovely wheelchair accessible room with a river view. They provided staff to help us with wheelchair access around the hotel, although it wasn't necessary. Fluent English speaking staff was limited, which impacted a smooth check out. The location was excellent. It was a great place to stay and relax for multiple days. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of food and choices. No black out drapes however.

Riverside hotel - mostly aimed at coach parties

Perfectly acceptable hotel for a short stay on the Rhine. Rooms are a little dated. River traffic and road noise were not an issue during our stay.

Generally the hotel seems set up for coach parties more than individual guests. The small restaurant that catered for non-half board guests was very good, offering a great German food at good prices with good service.

I would definitely stay again

First off, I would stay here again. There were a few things that would be nice to be a little different, but all-in-all, a good hotel. It has a nice feel about it. The room was a good size and the river view (we were in 312 overlooking the river) was definitely worth paying the extra. The staff were friendly, the food was good, and the location was excellent. We would have liked a proper double bed with double duvet cover and a couple of good pillows, but other than that, the room was very comfortable and warm. The parking was a little limited but we were able to park each night. Breakfast was nice. My only suggestion is that it could be varied a little on different days to give people who stay several days a variety.. The shower was very good... hot and lots of power. This hotel is worth a consideration.

Parking was gone when we arrived, but we were directed to a free public lot a bit of a walk away. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant overlooking the river, a great breakfast the next morning, then walked right across the street to board a boat for a river tour that day. Very convenient. A good value place to stay on The Rhein

We have stayed at The Rheinlust quite a few times on our journeys back to UK from Austria, usually for a couple of nights. The staff have always been helpful and friendly and the hotel is 'fit for purpose'. Boppard is a nice town on The Rhein and a good place from which to get a day on the river or a trip down to Koblenz. Roundtrips to the Lorelei and Koblenz leave from various jetties with a few hundred metres of the hotel. Both are excellent on nice weather days. The 'middle Rhein' is famous for the castles overlooking the valley. (Think of it as a mini cruise and you can't go wrong!) Breakfast is standard continental fare with a reasonable, set up to cater mainly for coach parties and groups. The main restaurant food in the hotel is good and I recommend the steaks.

This hotel is at one end of town and is quite old. Our room was quiet, above a back side street, and had 2 beds and 2 chairs with a table between. We asked for a fan as the day was hot and we had the afternoon sun. The check-in staff was pleasant enough, but the woman who brought the fan was not. The restaurant was closed at 2 pm and we had just gotten off the KD Rhein boat and were hungry. Breakfast buffet was included and was fine, just expensive.

We were a little disappointed with our stay. We had booked a non-smoking room, but upon arrival the room smelled of smoke. While the rooms are non-smoking, guests are allowed to smoke on the balconies. This prevents you from opening your door for fresh air which is essential since there is no other way to receive air circulation in the room (no air conditioning or fan). Our shower drain was clogged and nearly flooded the bathroom twice. We let the front desk know, however it did not seem to get fixed. The internet does not work in the rooms so you must go out to the lobby to use it. The televisions are old and in the middle of watching a World Cup game, went out completely. The breakfast buffet is subpar but it is nice that there is something that is offered. There is a lot of outdoor noise as the hotel is located just off a busy street and the ferry dock for the Rhine. Staff was friendly.

Nothing wrong with our stay whatsoever, we upgraded to river views on arrival that cost a small additional cost. We choose 'The Rheinlust' for price and location and were not disappointed. Yes it is getting a bit dated but when it does get a makeover it's prime location on The Rhine can only push the price up. Enjoy a great basic hotel at a very reasonable price in a prime location while you can.

Do not stay on the first floor. All of the rooms are right above the restaurants or lobby. Please take precaution in the bathroom as the bath tub is very slippery if showering. Even taking the previous statements into consideration the hotel stay was very acceptable.

It is a shame that, as individual travellers we were affected by the coach parties in this hotel - the groups seemed incapable of speaking quietly late at night and early morning departures were not welcome as our room was by their parked coaches. Overall the hotel was a reasonable base, had friendly staff, rooms were rather basic but all needed updating. The breakfast was good (as long as the coach parties hadn't cleared the food first). We were in the Guest House next door from the main hotel and noise travelled a lot. We wouldn't stay there again.

Disappointed!

We were a little bit disappointed with the quality of room that we got. We looked forward to a good few days next to the Rheine river, room with river view, it wasn't that fantastic. We have room in an older building next to the main hotel building. Room has new bathroom, new equipment, but rather basically decorated with dreadful dark color. I think the room will feel much better and bigger if they improve decorations. We have a fancy 5 point shower equipment but in a very small bath enclosure, I have water spitting hard right on my face .Can not get WiFi signal in our room. You must go to main hotel lobby, and there is not enough room there for everyone. There are parking available at and around the hotel. Breakfast is sub-standard compared to other hotels that we stayed during this trip. It has a good location to visit up and down the Rheine and Mosel river, but the town itself has very little to offer. When the cruise boats landed, the town turn alive, but when the cruise boats depart at around 4:00pm, almost all the shops closed, there is hardly anyone on the street. This hotel handles many bus tour groups, so very crowded breakfast room in the morning.

Hotel with a view of the Rhine!

Staff is very helpful - grand view of the Rhine - really enjoyed the food at the hotel.

Tired

I found the guest house next to the hotel very tired looking rather noisy with the trains but hotel food was expensive but really good food

Good little find in Boppard on the Rhine.

Very well kept,clean hotel with good wifi.

Location on the the Rhine river was superb in the town of Boppard was superb.

Excelent location on the river front. Room over looking river on the 4th floor. Food excelent and varied for breakfast & dinner.Comfortable bedroom needs updating. Friendly staff.
