Staff did not seem very happy or motivated. They were not looking to provide excellent service, just to impart information on what as possible/not possible and not ‘go the extra mile’ to create a happy customer experience.
For example, the breakfast room was far too hot (multiple guests had complained of this) but senior staff were not prepared to make it cooler by opening doors/windows or turning on the air conditioning. There was no decaf coffee in the rooms and the receptionist could not provide any - this is a basic requirement in hotels. The receptionist offered to provide us with a phone number to order some ourselves! Unglaublich.
The only two people who went out of their way to be helpful were two young members of staff, one female and one male, who looked as if they may have been new or temporary workers. The more senior staff were less helpful.
The dining room was closed for an event on Friday 10/10 without warning or apology to hotel guests. This was very inconvenient.

Beautiful room with a view

I received a strange email with option to upgrade my deluxe room to a junior suite. I just had to tell them how much I would pay for the 20 Euro upgrade. They never told me if I got the upgrade. When I checked in, I had to ask about the upgrade. No, the junior suite was sold out. When I checked out, they charged me for the upgrade that I never received.
Room was really nice with a beautiful river view. Food was excellent. Elevator was tricky.

Nice place for a business stay.

The service was very helpful. The view of the Rhine and the sauna are a bonus. The room was clean and quiet. The only issue I had was that the coffee machine in the lobby either wasn't open or working most of my stay.

Disliked: first room we had had a noisy air conditioning inside room and in corridor. Contacted reception and they said it would be off by 11pm had to call again at 11:10 and was told they would turn off manually. heard maintenance banging about and was off by 11:30 but room very warm. Back on at 6 and noisy again. Asked to move rooms but had to wait. Bathroom also had hairs and cobwebs.
New room fine so why sell a substandard room

The hotel is located in a beautiful area overlooking the Rhine river. Sitting outdoors was a lovely touch. The hotel is on the older side and could use a bit of a refresh to bring it up to a 4 star hotel. The staff was polite, but did not go out of their way to help . Needs a bit of attention .

The elevators had a TARDIS feel to them, so that was nice. There was an array of pictures of West German and German political leaders up, so that was educational. The Wi-Fi had issues, and sometimes seemed to provide a useable connection for some services and not for others -- I assume this is due to limitations/restrictions on their walled garden.

Ameron worked out well for a short, business-focused stay. It was close to my destination but the areas was not quite what I expected. It think this may have been due to the football fans. When I arrived, around 22:30, there were 3 very drunk men entering in the lobby and that was my sign to hurry and escape to my room.

Despite this, if you are a self-sufficient traveler on a short stay this hotel can work out fine.

Just be sure to check all the festures because I missed everything including free amenities like water because I didn’t find it untill too late.

Very poor customer service

Not very helpful. Arrived lunchtime on a Monday. Rooms not ready so left luggage behind reception but still checked in. Not informed about hotel facilities or food. When arrived later and asked for a table in restaurant, was told it was full. Didn't offer any alternative and was told they had 129 rooms to fulfill. Went to bar in restaurant at 8.30pm and saw a few empty tables!. At 9.00pm asked for food at bar only to be told they had finished serving and kitchen was closed. Was informed at reception, room service was until 9.30pm but told this had finished too. Eventually managed to get a salad after 30 mins. Took 15 mins to be served with a drink and only when I asked. Very poor unhelpful customer service and will not be staying here again.

Geniale Lage am Rhein und Bonner Innenstadt

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Rheinpromenade. Die Innenstadt von Bonn ist in fünf Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Trotzdem ist die Lage ruhig. Wir parkten in der hoteleigenen Tiefgarage. Unser Zimmer zum Rhein hin war komfortabel, das Bad ein bisschen eng. Sonst modern und funktionell eingerichtet. Die Mitarbeiter sehr nett und zuvorkommend, insbesondere auch beim Frühstück. Dieses war in Ordnung, die Speisenauswahl hätte etwas größer sein können.
Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt, das Hotel ist empfehlenswert.

I feel that the price/value is not balanced at this property. The rooms seem rather old and the bathrooms are tiny.
There are no amenities in the room.
I had to ask for a water kettle. It was delivered without any cups, or spoons or tea/coffee bags. I had to ask for cups.
There is no alarm or any kind of clock in the room.
Very confused about the 'free' bottle of water. I had one in my room, I had asked for another 2 bottles to be delivered to my room as I was staying 3 nights and they did, I was not charged.
My Mom who stayed in the second room asked at the front desk for additional water and was sent down to the restaurant to pick them up. They said that they did not have the same brand as in the room and gave her San Pellegrino and charged her 16 euros for 2 bottles. I complained at the front desk and they said only the first bottle is free no matter how long you stay.
It's just a bottle of water and I feel this is not a 4 star service plus asking a 80 year old to go and get your own bottle of water from the restaurant and then charge her because the 'cheaper brand' is not available is terrible customer service.
We were originally wanting to book the Hilton, however local family recommend this property. We were really disappointed.

Fantastic hotel in Bonn - professional, clean, great location along the river. The rooms (we paid extra for river view - highly recommend) were impeccable and modern. The service team was very friendly and helpful. All around amazing hotel in a great location. The only negative was the service in the hotel restaurant was lacking a little - the food and view were amazing but everything took a long time (my guess is they were short staffed).

The hotel has definitely the nicest location in Bonn, on the Rhine river. The staff at the reception is very helpful, friendly and efficient. We stayed 5 nights and had a grate time in Bonn.
The Oliveto restoran is also part of the hotel, has excellent location with great views on Rhine river. The only negative comment we have is on the staff that works in the evening. in the a la card (Michelin star) restaurant (except Tomasz, he was great). The others are very slow, we were waiting for drinks for over 30 minutes. Sometimes it happened to forget to bring the order. Anyhow, we will definitely recommend this hotel and come back soon to AMERON HOTEL KÖNIGSHOF.

The only thing we did not like is the only thing free at the mini bar is water. We were told the whole thing was free. There are many restaurants close by and in walking distance to choose from.

Hotel is in a very good location and the hotel is very nice.

The only upsetting thing was that my room was of type \"City View\" which means you look at the Collegium building. No View and to be honest the City is the other side, so I wonder why I got this room?

Great hotel, pleasant staff, couple of little things with room; no full length mirror, plugs in difficult place for plugging in hairdryer to use, TV was unnecessarily large and took up the space for a decent mirror.

Shower didn’t drain properly and flooded bathroom floor, staff tried to fix but didn’t as there was a bath as well we could manage but not ideal.

Terrific location. We walked all around Bonn with ease. Had a room with a river view and it was just lovely. Spacious and clean room. Modern and elegant decor. Enjoyed toiletries by The White Company. Abundance of outlets and several well situated USB ports.

Didn’t really ask much of staff, but when we needed an extra towel, it was delivered to our room shockingly fast. Anyone else we spoke with was very kind - and that includes some painters we said hello to. Would totally stay again...and I just might!

Everything very good - modern comfort and super bathroom. Excellent choice for breakfast although 19 Euros was a little bit pricey.
