This was such a warm welcoming place, with a huge room, good facilities and a nice breakfast. Really well located. Very much enjoyed my stay here and would recommend. As others have noted, it's a hotel combined with a residence for older people, and if I end up in such a place in my golden years I'll consider myself to have done well!

Having spent more than 150 nights in hotels just this year, I hope my feedback may be useful to some.

On the positive side, I appreciated the generous size of both the room and the bathroom.

However, I found the value for money disappointing. The hotel is quite expensive for what it offers, and at this price point I would expect daily room cleaning, which was not provided. The furniture also appears dated and would benefit from an update The gym facilities were below average in terms of quality, and no towels were available on the days I visited.

The hotel is well-situated. The pool is excellent and the sauna is good. The breakfast is also quite pleasant.

The room was noticeably not very clean. The bed not very comfortable. In addition the staff, while polite enough, are not too diligent about such things as wake up calls- so make sure your phone is charged.

Being in this hotel was the sweetest way to experience Bonn. Having the elder care folks living on the hotel property really made this place even more special. I wouldn't mind if I ended up living here in my golden years! The staff was super friendly and the restaurant for was amazing!

Rooms clean and conveniently near downtown. However, no airco in summer made it for a very hot and warm stay. A standing fan just wasn’t enough.

Also. It turns out this hotel is in a convalescent home. So you’ll see the occasional senior roaming. But not really an issue. Overall average stay for us.

Highly recommend having breakfast included in stay excellent breakfast buffet. Centrally located. It is also a nursing home and it works well. Beautiful hotel. Room was spacious and clean like an apartment with a little kitchen as well. Definitely book a breakfast as well. Lots of choices for adults and kids as well. Lovely swimming pool with a temperature of 30 degrees. City centre is literally 3 minutes walk. We drove from UK and car park opposite the hotel cost us €3 a day. Definitely stay there again

Elderly care facility, not a hotel

This is some type of care facility for elderly that also has a hotel. The pool was booked all day for exercise classes and therapy. We were not allowed to be out of our room or ask the front desk for things. We were always instructed to call for service which was a 3$ fee.
Not a welcoming atmosphere for travelers, but probably nice for those living there.

I like the property, it has history, and a beautiful garden, the problem is Wife connection is poor, at room no Wifi connection, and room didn't have air condition, we have open the patio door to get fresh air, also, the room didn't have coffee and tea even don't have water boiler.
The night stuff David is nice guy, he divered the water boiler later evening, and give us some fresh water.
Breakfast is great! good tasty coffee what I like the most, the swining pool I enjoyed very much. next time I might be book there again.

I really enjoyed my stay during a lockdown of Germany. I stayed for 4 weeks and was treated well and although not all facilities were open due to COVID restrictions it was a pleasant stay. Really close to the city centre and my room was large and with a small kitchen (superior room). It was cleaned when requested.

This is a great place to stay. Historic and it has character. In an earlier review, I stated that I was a bit concerned about the fact that it is still a senior residence facility while also being a hotel. In response to my concerns, the hotel manager spoke with me and told me about all the precautions they take. I can honestly say, that it seems like they have taken enough health measures to ensure everyone's safety.

At a quiet location , yet easily accessible to the sights, shops and restaurants. The members of staff were friendly. The room was spotless and spacious for four of us with a very comfy bed. There is also a small kitchen. The breakfast had good selections. We would definitely recommend it.

This was a unique hotel experience. It was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was delicious and the grounds were lovely. The hotel is split as a retirement home which was really neat. It was very quiet and well maintained. Everything was new and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay.

We live in the XXI century and need some comfort in our life. Can you imagine being in the non-condionned room when the outside temperature is 30+? If you want to try it, please stay in this hotel. This fact - no A/C - should be indicated by capital letters in the description of the hotel, in other case it is a bad surprise the an made us to leave it immediately and to look for another one

Nice hotel, but overpriced

The rooms were clean and served a purpose. I personally wouldn't recommend this, we were put in a room so far from reception near to the underground parking. It was noisy, the air con didn't work. No toiletries, I think it was overpriced for what the hotel offers. However it is in a great location, so I guess this is what you are paying for really. Breakfast was nice and there was a good selection and the staff were kind and helpful.

Interesting set up for a hotel; hotel rooms and elderly housing in one building, in same halls. Rooms were nice but shower doors were not flush to floor which caused water to run all over the bathroom floor making for dangerous, slippery floor. Restaurant had extremely slow service at off time and there were only two other tables occupied with guests to serve. Our rooms faced the busy road and traffic was very loud. No a/c so we needed the windows opened causing disrupted sleep from the traffic throughout the night.

I enjoyed the Collegium Leoninum, and would be happy to stay there again. The room was very large, like a suite with its own kitchen. Very pleasant space. It is a very short walk to the U-bahn entrance (you do not have to walk all the way to the station, which also isn't far).

Ok-ish hotel but would not stay again.

This hotel is part of an old age home, but this really should not bother you much. The building and courtyard is quite impressive and nice. The room has no Aircon and doesn't have a window to open but only a door that opens on a shared veranda, so when very hot you'll have to sleep with the door open. I have never complained about this before, but the room was not very clean. Stains on furniture and even on bedding. Wifi was good, beakfast was good, staff friendly, and location convenient.

Good hotel with wonderful/interesting community

The hotel is in many ways like a nice business hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast (one of the few worth the cost), great pool, nice sauna, but a little antiseptic in its interiors and rooms (esp. bathrooms and hallways). It turns out that the hotel is a converted seminary (gorgeous converted church in the center) that also houses a retirement community. This may be a negative for some guests, but it made for one of the more interesting hotel experiences I've had. Such a friendly group of people to share breakfast, swims, or chats with. Really a great idea both for hotel guests and the permanent community -- I wish more hotels would consider this. (If arriving from the train station and walking, take the slightly longer route through the city rather than following the slightly more direct but really ugly ring road).

Bright, clean, large accessible room just a 7 minute walk from the train station. Lovely pool and sauna were a special treet, even thought they ran out of towels for the sauna:-(. There is also a quiet delightful courtyard. Breakfast buffet was a bit expensive from everything else we've seen.
Also, we had to walk past a few questionable(drunk) characters on the street near the station in order to get to the hotel. You could walk a bit longer route, but then you are dragging your suitcases over the cobblestone.

Too expensive for what it offers. I concede, well located (two blocks from the shopping street and main train station), spacious rooms and free internet, but you can get the same (and more) in other reasonably priced hotels in the neighborhood. It was the most reasonable I could get in a very busy week (all good hotels I know were booked out), but I do not like to pay premium prices for an average hotel.

Really lovely stay with a huge room and a balcony as well! Lovely big bathroom And use of the pool and free breakfast. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and open until 11am allowing for lie in. Pool area was nice too but a jacuzzi would have been nice too.
Very lovely and helpful staff. Location perfect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location very close to centre of town.
Biggest attraction is the building itself which is an architectural masterpiece.

Nice place to lodge in: awesome swimming pool/sauna nice gym, quite place for relaxing, really clean and good breakfast, but why to have such a huge kitchen if there are no catteries and pots and other things. beside that I din't enjoyed at the best the double bed because they were actually 2 single beds attached and some times in the middle there was a gap. Overall good hotel I would lodge again if in town for work.

The hotel is located right at the edge of central Bonn, within the city and a gentle walk from the Hauptbahnhof, the Münster, etc. From the Hauptbahnhof one can take the U-Bahn to the main museum area of Bonn. My room was spacious and clean, with a sunny balcony. The hotel is housed in a lovely older building, though the interior has been remodeled recently. The breakfast was perfect. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the hotel is its staff -- they are among the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered.

Wonderful mix

It was very interesting. The hotel is combined with a hospital, combined with an old church. Overall the stay was pleasant. The rooms were spacious and the surrounding garden views were spectacular. The food for breakfast was very good. Classic German hot and cold breakfast. I would definitely stay there and see the sights like Beethoven's house and some of the ruins. Great slices of history here.

It is true that the hotel coexists with a retirement village. That was not a problem. However, the towels were small, scratchy and smelt of bleach. The room was spacious, although the bedding was very average. Overall the place was antiseptic and cold, lacking atmosphere. The grounds are set in a beautiful garden setting and the location is very convenient to the old town. The restaurant was average, but the staff were very polite.

Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es im Parkhaus gegenüber. Kostet max.6€ am Tag. Dort gibt es aber erst freie parkplätze am Abend. Am Mittag/Nachmittag ist alles voll dort.

Zimmer waren Top. Gibt sogar welche mit Kochecke und Kühlschrank. Alles sauber, Handtücher, Bademäntel und co. Sind vorhanden.

Einrichtung ist auch eine art altenheim also nicht wundern. Störte aber nicht. Frühstück war auch angemessen und zufriedenstellend.

We hadden de kamer 2 etages boven de hotelingang (oudbouw).

Erg goed: het zwembad en de sauna, het matras, vriendelijk en mooi ontbijtbuffet, multifunctioneel gebruik van accommodatie en faciliteiten, ruime kamer, lichtdichte gordijnen, geluidsdichte ramen

Jammer:
- het toilet is bijzonder onhandig hoog
- 2 van de 3 dagen was er geen bruin brood bij het ontbijt
- de hoofdkussens zijn lage kwaliteit
- bij een verblijf van 3 nachten in superior kamer slechts 1x schoonmaak
- een continue piep in de kamer (speciaal voor Expedia-gasten?)
- het marmeren badkamerblad was niet glad/schoon, maar werd dat wel nadat ik het zelf poetste, dus wordt er niet goed gepoetst

Zentrale Unterkunft mit sehr gepflegtem Ambiente in historischer Kulisse. Wir waren für eine Nacht dort, Zimmer, Personal und Frühstück waren sehr gut. Was dem Hotel nicht angelastet werden kann waren recht laute Gespräche, die andere Gäste (Tagung?) spätabends auf dem Flur führten, zudem war unsere Zimmer einigermaßen hellhörig. Insgesamt: klare Empfehlung für einen Bonn-Besuch. Sher günstige Parkmöglichkeit (in unserem Fall 6€/Tag) direkt gegenüber im Parkhaus.

Wir haben 3 Nächte im Hotel verbracht und unser Aufenthalt war schön. Das öffentliche Parkhaus liegt direkt gegenüber (zeigte zwar Besetzt an, was aber zum Glück ein Defekt der Anzeige war) Wir haben pro Tag 6,- Euro gezahlt, was super günstig ist. Das alte Gebäude des Hotels ist super schön. Auch die Eingangshalle und das Restaurant sind schön eingerichtet. Sehr freundliches Personal überall. Es gibt für die Gesamtbewertung einen Stern Abzug, da nirgends erwähnt wurde, dass es sich bei dem Hotel um eine Kombination von Hotel und Senioren-Residenz handelt. Im Neubau-Teil ähneln die Flure auch denen eines Senioren-Heimes (und wir wunderten uns über die Namen an vielen Zimmer-Türen, da wir ahnungslos waren) Das Hotelzimmer war sehr schön und groß. Sehr viel Schrankplatz, großes gemütliches Bett. Aussicht in den Innenhof. Die Balkone sind leider über mehrere Zimmer durchgehend, also nicht separat. So dass man die Balkontür nicht offen lassen wollte. Minuspunkt des Zimmers ist das Badezimmer. Es ist zwar riesig und barrierefrei, mutet aber absolut wie das Bad eines Krankenhauses an. Kleine gelbliche Fliesen, große Duschecke mit Vorhang. Wir haben aber den Platz unter der Dusche genossen. Der Pool des Hotels ist sehr schön, wenn auch nicht besonders groß. Da wir recht spät am Abend schwimmen waren, trafen wir aber zum Glück auf wenig Gäste. Das Wasser ist herrlich warm. Wir haben im Hotel nur gefrühstückt. Das Buffet war gut. Gute Auswahl an allem was zu einem Frühstück gehört.

Schönes Gebäude und Garten, aber nur das!

Nettes Gebäude, aber bei weitem kein 4Sterne Superior Hotel. Frühstück ist sehr einfach und übersichtlich. Deutlich zu wenig Service-Personal.
Die Oberbetten und Kissen sind aus Polyester.
Keine MiniBar, kein Kühlschrank. Balkon ewig nicht gereinigt.

Das Hotel ist sehr nahe dem Hauptbahnhof, trotzdem ruhig gelegen und kann bequem zu Fuss erreicht werden. Wer mit dem Auto anreist kann entweder das Parkhaus direkt am Bahnhof oder genau gegenüber des Hotels nutzen.
Wir sind mit unserem Aufenthalt (1 Nacht) super zufrieden!
