The room was large, very clean with sliding glass door that opens up to a nice patio with access to the pool that is about 10 feet away from the room. I live in Cozumel and travel to Playa del Carmen regularly and out of all of the hotels this is my favorite especially with it's low per night rate. I have nothing but good things to say about this property and it's staff. Excellent choice

Only stayed one night in the king room. It was as described and shown online. It is Boutique and not condo style so know that. Very good bed and climate control. Noise wasn’t bad but not silent. Shower was very good. Few are in this area except modern condos. Recommend.

This property is right across a bar that plays music until 3 a.m.
when I let the front desk know about the terrible first night my family and I had, they told me that we could wear earplugs. The music is so loud that it will make your night miserable.
I asked for my refund and they declined my request for a refund. They offer me a different property but said I would have to leave the current room at 12 and wait until 4 to go to the other property when I had paid for 4 nights. I decided that I would give a chance to go to another property they offer me, but when I arrived I was treated poorly. We were asked go wear plastic uncomfortable bracelets. We decided to leave and paid a whole new price for another hotel.

Terrible experience and customer service at Rivera del Sol.

Love this place!!!!

The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfasts are yummy. The pool area is inviting and lush. I loved swimming in the pool listening to the birds! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is close to the beach and the nicer section of the city. I would recommend!

We have been going there as a family for the last 15 years on and off. Before Covid, we stayed there around 5 times. This was our first time after Covid. The place has completely fell a part.

Pros….
Rooms are big. Fits two queen size beds. Rooms have balconies. Shower has good pressure (very important, especially after full day at the beach), and we always had hot water.

Very centrally located. Convenient to many restaurants, Mamitas beach (one block), bars, and basic trinkets shopping.

Cons
Before Covid, the staff was a bit more professional, helpful, had European charm. Today, Staff at the front desk are completely LOST, especially the lady at the night shift. Completely useless. Anything you ask her outside of a key, she doesn’t know how to do.

TV has one English Channel, mattress is not existing. Bathroom has two self made ventilations to prevent mold. One is the actual bathroom door that has been cut up, and the second is an angled plexiglass that leads to the hallway. In both variations, you actually know what the person is doing while waking through the hallway to your room. Very disturbing and unpleasant. Beach towels that the hotels provides (if you ask) are soooo old and dirty it’s embarrassing. Rooms have no phone, so you can’t even call downstairs to ask for anything. Hotel is located right next to 3 bars/restaurants that close around 3am on the weekend and around 1:30am or so on weekday. Good luck falling a sleep

3 star hotel with 2 star service!!!

Gear for a quick stay

Awesome for the price. Comfortable bed and big clean room. AC was cool and ceilings fans was a great addition. Only complaint is the the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything like is inside your room.

We chose his property because it had a lot of authentic Mexican culture qualities. The staff was super friendly there was no sales pressure from anyone. It’s still very close to the nightlife so there is some residual noise but not nearly as bad as other properties. Overall this place is wonderful and very close to everything downtown we would definitely recommend staying here.

Riviera del sol hotel is not worth of paying 100 $ a night. It’s a small boutique hotel , swimming pool is not clean at all , it’s just rooms in the hotel nothing else. It’s not a $100 costing per night hotel even breakfast not included.The standard of the hotel doesn’t qualify for this price.

With such an average high rating on Expedia, we were surprised to see how exactly rundown this property is. Our room, located on the ground floor, (even though we requested an even though we requested an upper level floor) was musty and aggravated my allergies overnight. Additionally, the matttresses were super hard. Interestingly, our room (number 107) was only accessible through a sliding door. This meant that you could not leave someone inside, if the other person wanted to go out, without either leaving the door unlocked so the person inside could exit in case of an emergency or locking the person in. There is a key entry from the outside and a bolt only from the inside.

We had very little interaction with the staff. We arrived late in the evening about 10:30 PM and the check-in person was fine. Not super pleasant or welcoming, but just fine.


The redeeming qualities of this property was that it is inexpensive, parking for us with late arrival was very easy, just one block off. We found our stay to be quiet, which is what we wanted.

Property was run down it was located across from l an after hours karaoke bar that was open until 3 am and it was concert loud until 2:30 am every night that I was there . my room was located in closest proximity to this club directly across the street I paid way to much for this stay at that hotel

The bathroom was with mold and very dirty. The location was difficult to locate. They have taxes that you need to pay once arriving in the hotel. Around the hotel there are various bars that have music that is very loud that didn’t allow us to sleep very well that last until 3am which is a long time with high volume of sound.

Very cost effective, but not built for covenience. Great location, good people serving, very easy to locate and nearby everything, including Mamitas Beach Club. Would I go back? Yes if the price its right. What could improve? The bed, its not good, its like getting two beds together so the division makes you slide to the sides, not my deal. Overall, its a good place if the price its right.

1.i had 4 days with out soap, had to take a shower with a conditioner
2.the toilet keep jamming, instead of fixing it, they gave me pump to go do it myself

Love the place. The lady on the front desk give us very good recommendations. Comfortable beads, clean room and ok location. There is a bar close by, it closes about 3 am, but is not that bad.
