I could not recommend this hotel enough! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and our room was perfect for what we needed. The hotel is in a great location - all the main attractions are within walking distance. It was also very convenient to get to and from the airport as there is a direct bus 2 mins away. The price for the hotel was great value for money and we were even able to check-in early. Thank you Budapest Museum Central for a fantastic stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at Budapest Museum Central. The location couldn’t be better — super close to public transport and just a short walk to the 100E airport bus stop. My room was clean, had high ceilings, and a great view of the National Museum, which I loved waking up to.

The staff were all very friendly, responsive, and always ready to help with recommendations. Special shoutout to Vani — she was so pleasant and easy to talk to, really a great example of what hotel staff should be.

Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting.

Friendly staff, close to all the transit options, and quick & easy check in/out. Room was huge with tall ceilings and a big window! I loved that this didn’t feel like a hotel. Walls are a little thin, glad I had a white noise machine to help get me off to sleep. Definitely will stay here again!

The gentelmen who worked on the 2nd and 5th were so polite and helpful. The first gentelmen (my first day) was very understanding and flexible- I showed up a day late, tired, hungry, and without proper payment and he trusted me to do the right thing (and I did). He took the time to reccommend places to see and where to eat (he was right!) and I was able to make the best of my trip. The room was clean, beautiful, and the jaccuzi was the best thing for a long day of exploring. I will absolutely stay there again- it was quiet, lively outside, the archetecture was lovely, and both of the men there were so sweet and empathetic. It is now one of my very favorite places.

Good location

Room recently refurbished although hot and cold taps connected wrong way round but lots of space and comfortable huge bed. Great central situation and close to metro/bus if needed. Shower over bath too low for anyone over 5'2\" and also soaks bathroom floor however careful you use it. Phone number on hotels.com not valid and reception not open when stated. Air con also seemed to come on and off as it pleased even when not on auto settings.

Our stay was very comfortable. All amenities however no toaster. Close to main transport shops restaurants and tourist attractions. Bathroom towels were very substandard more suitable to rag usage.
Prior to our stay communication was non existent sending emails and seven phone calls were unanswered On arrival were informed phone line number had changed. Website did not reflect this. Hotels.com were not updated either with new contact phone number

Family ran business. Contacted me directly by Whatapp, which was good because it meant I had a direct contact with someone, should I have needed it. We were in the studio apartment which is in a different block. Having read previous reviews about the noise from the lift, we needn't have worried as the studios aren't in the in building with the lift. It was a tad difficult to find our apartment initially, but that's probably more a language barrier. Once we found it and worked out which keys were for which door it was a doddle. The apartment was clean tidy, with TV (only English speaking channel CNN not that we watched any TV anyway) and a job, fridge, microwave and washing machine in the kitchenette. The bathroom was massive and the jacuzzi bath was a nice touch. The room was really warm, and the hot water instant. WiFi provided too.This building is situated in a courtyard and there are rules about making a noise. That suited us to a tee as we had a 9year old with us some went back to the apartment after our day of exploration and dinner. Suited us perfectly as Budapest night life isn't really suitable for children. Staff were friendly and you can leave your cases at the reception either before or after check in, for free, which was really useful. I got sent a YouTube video on how to find the reception, which was easy to follow. It's not like a typical hotel, but we found it fabulous. A great experience and we'd highly recommend here for a family break

Extremely convenient if you arrive on Budapest airport (2 mins away from the 100E bus stop)
Huge rooms
Excellent communication and fast check-in

Cons:
Terrible noise isolation of the building, you can hear everything

I had a bad experience at this place. The bell kept on ringing from 12 AM to 1 AM when the reception was closed. The guests who werw woken up had to be the ones to solve the problem. And, in the morning, when I complained to the reception, they just said it never happened before and they were sorry. Nothing in compensation for the inconvenience and doing their job for them. I would have been okay if they even offered a free breakfast or something to compensate our time and comfort.

The place had very high ceilings with not a lot of soundproof. The facilities were pretty old. But, It was very clean and well kept.

Great location. Hotel is very quaint. Bus 100E takes you to and from the airport which is 20 minutes away.
Service was excellent. Bottle of wine waiting in room.
Beds were a little uncomfortable with un ironed sheets.
Lift was VERY noisy outside our room.
Room very big. Shower lovely. Bars on windows were a little restrictive if there was a fire.

I would not recommend this accommodation. We stayed there for one night and the heating system was not working, although there were close to zero degrees outside. The hot water was not running when we arrived and we had to call them and wait for half an hour for somebody to arrive to fix it. Then we had the same problem in the morning, but this time they didn't pick up the phone, although it was 8:00 am. Disappointing experience, wouldn't recommend at all.

Fabulous location. We never got a taxi walked everywhere. Got the metro once that was to go to the baths. Hotel is very hostel like not very luxurious. But really clean & nice staff. Wouldn’t stay again would go for a proper hotel next time. But for what we paid was excellent value. We only slept in the hotel was out all the time.

Opposite National Museum

The hotel is situated opposite the National Museum and was easy to find using the directions provided by the hotel after booking. It's in a convenient location either by bus 100E from the airport, or a quick metro journey to Kalvin Ter from either of the main railway stations.

The entrance is through a large wooden doorway which takes you down a corrdor into a courtyard area. This the centre of an apartment complex, which this hotel has a section of on the second floor. To reach the reception you take a small lift (that has seen better days). The lift does go from exactly the ground floor, but from a few steps up the staircase.

The room we had overlooked the National Museum. It was clean and the windows were very well insulated against traffic noise, and en-suite had a good powerful shower.

The reception staff were mostly welcoming and helpful, however one particular receptionist needed some training on customer service - they tried hard not to speak, make eye contact, or even acknowledge you, and when they did they were totally unhelpful.

Plenty of restaurants nearby and easy walking to some of the main sites in Budapest.

Very dark front entrance to building Nobody mentioned hotel is only 2nd floor of an old building. I only had a carry on bag and could barely fit in the elevator. No 24 hour front desk, so since My flight was at 3am I had to wait on the street for the shuttle to pick me up. I would never stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anybody

Beware when booking this hotel as we were given the studios which were a good ten minute walk from the main hotel. The room was clean, quiet and spacious but having to check in at the main hotel and then walk to the studios wasn’t what we expected. Wouldn’t come here again.

The hotel was in a perfect location - we were able to walk everywhere. The room was spacious and we had a great view of the National Museum.
It is a bit confusing upon arrival. There are a series of doors you have to enter (and need to buzz the hotel) before reaching the front desk. This could have been explained before arrival. The staff was courteous. You will also need to bring your own toiletries.
Overall - we enjoyed the hotel!

When my luggage still hadn’t arrived after two days, staff was very helpful in making calls for me since I had no cell reception. Housekeeping always made up my bed and tidied the bathroom. The wrought iron gates and balcony are very beautiful, and most things in Budapest aren’t further than a 20 min walk. Very quiet and laid back feel. I enjoyed my stay here!

It’s not a real hotel. It’s airbnb

This is a fraud. It’s absolutely not a hotel. This is like an Airbnb stay. At Hotels.com reservation, you will be tricked to believe that it’s a real hotel due location on the map. Once you check in, they will ask you to pick up a key at the “almost look like” hotel front desk then you need to walk into a small quiet side street (15 min away) for the actual room. The reason we chose this hotel because we were robbed in Berlin before so we tried to stay on a Main Street. Unfortunately this is not a real hotel and the location is not real.

I enjoyed my stay here last year so came back again. For the price you could not get a nicer place to stay. I like the fact that there are only a few rooms on one floor of the building, so it doesn't feel like a busy hotel, and I felt like I was a local for a few days! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who, like me, wants a clean, comfortable room at an affordable price, but doesn't need 5 star service.

Check in is about 500m from apartment. Got an email the day before saying we would need to check in at another location about 500m the other way from the original checkin, which as we had pre booked a shuttle to the hotel was very inconvenient. No iron in the room which meant a 500m trip the next day to get an iron from the reception, no such thing as an ironing board apparently. Apart from that no problems and would definitely recommend

Unassuming hotel ideally situated for exploring downtown Budapest. Minutes away from tram stop, buses and metro at Kalvin Square. Hop On Hop Off bus stop opposite too. Bus to and from the airport stop at Kalvin Square too. All easy to use.
The hotel itself was basic but just what we were wanting. Hot drinks available in the reception area, and we had a complimentary bottle of lovely white wine in our room on arrival. Very pleasant staff, who were helpful with restaurant recommendations and reassurances that the public transport was easy to use.
From the outside it doesn't look like your normal hotel, small signage plaque on the wall. Quite quirky entrance hall and inner courtyard. Our room was huge with views across the road to the museum. Everything was spotless. Large shower with very hot water. Very comfortable big bed.
Will not hesitate to recommend.

Great hotel, close to get around

I stayed in the apartments that were off site to the main hotel. They were very spacious and had a kitchen and jacuzzi. Close walk to the Jewish quarters - really great area, and not too far from the city centre. Check in was great, staff were very helpful. The only downside was a damp smell in the foyer of the apartments and a slight damp smell in th bathroom. Other than that, good value for money.

Not sure why a five-start hotel cannot figure out to make a shower work. In spite of the user's best efforts, the bathroom floor will be flooded. I even went into the bathroom first thing in the morning and found a puddle of new water on the floor. In addition, be prepared for your shower to have alternating hot and cold water. You will be scalded and chilled from time to time. I don't get it. Cheap hotels have mastered these problems.

Really well located to explore major sights of Budapest, just a little difficult to locate initially, as signage subtle, given the Hotel takes up part of second floor in a privately owned block (just a small buzzer to the left of some very large entrance doors. However, once in, all worked well.

This is not a typical hotel with a ground-floor lobby, bar, etc. If you're looking for simplicity, cleanliness, helpful staff and location it is, however, worthy of consideration. I arrived at 2 am which made the lack of an obvious entrance daunting on an empty major street in Budapest. If you know what you're looking for and read the directions, then it's easy to buzz the desk and gain entrance into the building and make your way up a dim stairway to the 2nd (or 3rd in USA) floor. After you've checked in, your key fob will get you in and out of the building with ease. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs nearby - Ráday Utca is off nearby Kalvin Square and has the best variety for dining if you don't want to walk far. The Central Market and city centre are no more than a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel and the National Museum is across the street.

A great location with trams and metro very close. Breakfast at nearby restaurant - 5 mins walk - was excellent with 6 choices.Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee/tea free in lobby and we had a complimentary bottle of wine in room on arrival. Room was fine and had great view at front onto road and across to the museum and its grounds. No problem finding hotel or getting in and out; don't be put off by reports that there is a dark staircase as lights come on automatically and there is a lift if you're worried about stairs. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Friendly, clean, and comfortable!

The stay was great! I arrived very late but that was no problem for checking in. Getting inside the building was a little confusing at first (there's a key pad and you then have to go through another locked gate with a keypad once inside the building), but once I was inside the hotel the woman working behind the counter was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a rather small hotel with only a few rooms, so I felt like I had great individualized service. There was tea available for me when I arrived. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. It was a bit too warm for my liking when I arrived, but opening a window for a bit made the temperature perfect. There was a wonderful view of the museum across the street. The bathroom was incredibly clean and spotless! The water pressure in the shower was good. Breakfast was served at a restaurant about a 5 minute walk down the street, but it was excellent. The meal included a ton of food (I couldn't even finish it all) and the service was great. While the hotel is situated on a main road, it was still very quiet at night. I got a great night's sleep and would recommend the hotel to a friend.

Centrally located, reasonably priced and within walking distance of major attractions. After one day though decided on hop on bus which stops across the road because of scale of city. Room spacious with massive headroom, underfloor heating and massive comfy bed. Bit of a walk upstairs through old building which you need to buzz initially to gain entry. Friendly and helpful at reception though no tea making in the room. You need to go to reception for this and water is just tepid. Did encounter a problem on final day as we could nt enter building to retrieve luggage despite buzzing for 20 min. Joined by another couple later and were only saved by someone entering building for another floor. Receptionist had n t heard buzzer??All well in end though and we got to airport. Breakfast served couple of streets away and was adequate with some choice but don t ask for another tea or juice as you ll be charged for it.

Very close to wverything in the heart of Budapest.

Had a great and comfortable stay at Museum Central...stafff was lovely and helpful. This hotel was in walking distance to everything and the rooms were very cozy and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again!!!!

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and was happy I chose it for many reasons. The location was good, I walked most places but it was also convenient for catching trams and metro. The reception staff were all lovely and very helpful. My room was large, comfortable and very clean with a view of the museum across the road out of the window. I could help myself to free tea and coffee any time in the reception area. I liked that it didn't really feel like a hotel, it's only a few rooms on one floor of a building so I felt a bit like a local for a few days. The only negative thing was that the walls must be thin, because an inconsiderate, noisy guest in the next room woke me up. Luckily I had earplugs .

Great location, price, and staff

The location was great, along with the price, and staff. The walls in the hotel were a bit thin, so at times you could hear others in the hallway or other rooms. However, I enjoyed my stay and wold stay here again.

very traditional hotel with Hungarian feel & look

this hotel was basic, clean, very central to the city. It was not a modern hotel and this gave a very Hungarian feel to our trip. Had we stayed in a well know hotel it could have felt like we were in any city but this was authentic and we loved it. Staff were very very helpful and quick to deal with any issue. We had a problem with our airport taxi and it was not bother for them to sort it out for us

Nice Hotel, Strange Entrance

The only issue with this hotel was that there is no obvious way to get into it. It's inside of an apartment complex, and the only way I got in was because an old strange man living in this building was smoking a cigarette outside. He was kind enough to let me in but he didn't know any English, and walking into the hotel complex was extremely strange and I felt a bit threatened. Other than that, once I got inside everything was fine (because I got the key). They need to hire a door person or have some sort of better protocol for entering the hotel (there were no signs anywhere pointing to the hotel or even a sign outside), because for a solo traveler this felt like a dangerous situation.

There has to be better than this place

The entry buzzer is difficult to see on a wet night. There was a delay in answering the buzzer. I felt unsafe. The lift is extremely old. The room itself was clean and comfortable. I was assured my luggage could be stored safely. It was left in the open at the reception desk passage. I returned for my luggage to find nobody at reception or close by it. Luggage could easily have been stolen.

A Central Spot

We stayed in one of the studio apartments and it felt like an apartment not a hotel; which worked great for us. It was a short but nice stay in Budapest. The location of the hotel was great, we pretty much walked most of the time; the market is within a 15 minute walk and so was the opera. If you are looking for a central spot, this a good place.

Hotel was quaint, staff were very friendly and helpful, generous with their time, and really made it feel like a home stay rather than just a hotel.
