Business trip. Wonderful hotel in a great location. Parking was easy (which counts for lot when travelling for work), hotel was architecturally interesting and full of history, and the rooms were quaint and clean. Above all the staff were brilliant. Will definitely stay again when passing through.

Lovely hotel at a reasonable price. Room was large and very clean. Bed comfy although on the soft side. Good WiFi, nice bathroom with good quality toiletries. Excellent breakfast included. A bit of street noise but not bad. Effective curtains. Room could use modernising so that plug sockets are easier to access. Nice staff. Excellent location on main square, 5 minutes walk from railway station with lots of places to eat/drink within 10 minutes walk. Would be very happy to stay here again

Beautiful property. It was hot with no air. Our room was at front with all action on street, so could not open windows for air. Had a challenge when our room was accidentally manual cancelation even though we prepaid, but front desk was nice and made it work. Breakfast was great!

The rooms were a bit small and stuffy. No air circulation....had to keep the window open all night. I wonder how bad it gets in the summer when outside temperatures are hot.

this appears to be the top of the line hotel for this area, it is on the costly side so i would expect the amenities of such. first, hotel front desk staff ranged from very friendly and attentive to the opposite, it took me 15+ minutes to check in with one other in front of me; next, the breakfast was fine and the person in charge was very attentive and responsive to any request; the room was generally clean but we had one used coffee cup and dish lying on the furniture for two days and was never picked up during our 5 day stay; the room did not have a coffee/tea maker; room was large and well furnished; the hotel had no business area with a computer and printer for general use; parking was costly but convenient; it took us two day to find the in room refrigerator as it was in a dresser and difficult to even tell it was a cooler; my room had the hotel boiler right outside of it and it rumbled and this is not acceptable for a high end hotel; tv didn't work when i arrived but fixed quickly. Overall a nice hotel but missing the items generally associated with an upper end hotel.

Good hotel bet beware Restaurant not always open

Good hotel. Friendly staff. However be warned we booked with the hotel the restaurant for the three of us for dinner. When we arrived nothing was said, we booked in came down for dinner that evening to find the restaurant was not open on a Monday night. This was more than annoying aswe were tied and did not want to trawl the streets for another restaurant. They had a brasserie with very small menus that did not appeal. One reason for going to this hotel was the revues for the restaurant.

Lovely hotel and in a great location

Lovely hotel and staff were really welcoming and helpful. My only criticism is that the decor in the room was dated (I appreciate it's a very traditional hotel but the lobby and the dining room have clearly been modernised sympathetically) and that the bathroom would have benefitted from a shower too. Otherwise it was excellent. I would happily stay there again.

A very nice, historic hotel in an excellent central location. We found it well equipped, quiet and comfortable. Car parking in the underground \"Schouwberg\" is only perhaps 2-300m walk from the hotel, is not too expensive considering the location and perfectly safe. Our hotels.com deal included the hotel's buffet breakfast: a good thing, for at 20 Euros per person it is overpriced. Plenty of restaurants and cafes within a short walk.

Staff were very courteous and helpful with any query that I had whether it was getting eggs for breakfast or if I needed an iron. I was most impressed with Tina who went above and beyond, and genuinely put a smile on my face when arriving and leaving. All reception staff that I met were also friendly and created a pleasant atmosphere. The room and breakfast were also really nice. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay!

Nice hotel in Kortrijk!

Very nice; we stayed there for 3 nights in conjunction with going to see the Paris-Roubaix race. Overall very nice, great location, lots of things to see and places to eat within walking distance. Our room was spacious and very clean. One of our mornings we had an early start and needed to leave before breakfast started. I went to the restaurant hoping to get a cup of coffee and left with a tray that had a small pot of coffee and some pastries! Kudo's to the restaurant staff. The included breakfast the other days was excellent. Every member of staff that we interacted with was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. English was spoken which was nice; I wish I spoke more languages but I don't so I am appreciative of those who do! We would be thrilled to stay here again and hopefully we will.

Our room was nicely furnished and comfortable, and was also quiet, being at the back of the hotel and with an internal view.

Supper was quite outstanding: in our opinion, it is worth coming to this hotel for the food alone.

Breakfast next morning was of more average quality, but still quite acceptable.

Very well kept house of tradition. The single room I stayed in was a bit on the small side, but the charms of a grand era still resides within this wonderful house. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, with a great value for money 3course market menu.

Perfect stay in Kortrijk

We had one night in Kortrijk and chose the Hotel Damier. It seemed to be a nice hotel, but it was much prettier than we expected and the room was lovely. The decor was quite nice and up-to-date with a large bath with marble all around. Good wifi and convenient parking (surcharge), although they didn't charge us--not sure why. Location is perfect--across from the beautiful tower and steps from the city hall (beautiful building) as well as near to other essential sites in town. Very nice service, good bar, lovely breakfast included. The actual building of the hotel is quite old and beautiful and one of the architectural gems of the city. Would not consider staying anywhere else in Kortrijk.

Great hotel for a small town

We stayed in Kortryk because I had family ties there from the 15th century. It's a small town, but a good jumping off place for some of the WWI sights, including Ypres. The hotel was an updated version of Old World Charm: large, comfortable room, with a lovely and spacious bath. The lobby, too, was lush, comfortable, and charming.

The female staff that we encountered were exceptional; very helpful, kind, and friendly. The male staffer (name omitted intentionally) seemed willing to do his job, but no more. It wasn't the answers he provided, but the tone he provided them in that needs some polishing.

My traveling companion would also wish me to mention the elevator; it's older and European. That is, you enter by one side, and exit on an adjacent side. It also has sensors that will stop the elevator (between floors!) if you get in its way. This necessitated the use of the alarm within the elevator (never done that before, or even thought of having to), and a rather inglorious exiting by my friend between floors. (Her choice; not the hotel staffer's)

All in all, we decided that we liked this hotel better than our newer, more modern one in Ghent. Were I going to Kortryk again, this is definitely where I would stay.

Fabulous historic hotel in the heart of Kortrijk, with the magnificent Belfry just outside, with its lovely bells telling the time. Easy to find, few minutes from train station. Good size room, perhaps bathroom could have benefitted from re-grouting bath area, but grand fittings. Breakfast was included and was large and varied. Public rooms are spacious and well appointed. Will definitely stay again if in Belgium.

Stayed for three nights whilst on cycling trip to watch the Tour of Flanders cycle race. Found the hotel very convenient, close to several good restaurants in the main square (Groote Markt). The car-park is very close to the hotel (immediately to the rear), but is not connected directly for guests, and so requires a short walk with luggage, etc. it is outdoors, but secure, requiring contact with staff via intercom to open the main gate. There is also a pedestrian gate accessed using a numerical code.

One night stay is too short

Stayed here for one night to meet friends. Had a fab meal in the hotel restaurant. Next day we had to leave before breakfast was served at 7.00am however the night porter prepared breakfast early so we could have breakfast at 6.30am. Great service and a beautiful warm room. Also loved the bar in the hotel. Wish we had more time to stay longer, will definitely return.

Love this hotel

I've stayed here three years running whilst visiting the Lille Braderie, Kortryk being only half an hour by train from Lille. It's an old hotel which has had notable guests. Consequently it's not got an identikit bland square box wall to wall boring feel, it's got idiosyncrasies, the odd bit or wear and tear. But if you're looking for something with helpful staff, good service, private parking, it's own gin and not an identikit hotel, this is it. The breakfast is fantastic, dinner in their restaurant is exceptional. Basically I like it, it has some contradictions but overall it's a nice hotel.

I was in Kortrijk for work purposes. The hotel was clean, inviting and beautifully elegant. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ate in the hotel for evening meal which was extremely well executed and the service was equally attentive and professional. I sat in the lobby after the meal and felt perfectly comfortable to do so even as a lone traveller. The single room was spacious, well serviced, clean and comfortable. It was an overall most pleasant experience that made me feel that I was in the height of luxury and I would recommend anyone to stay there.
