A very convenient area to stay in downtown and walkable to Hofbrau Haus, Glockenspiel, etc. Very helpful staff that was accommodating to our quirky boomer parents. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are typical small but very well organized. Staying here also comes with the hustle and bustle of people at all hours outside of the hotel, so there is a little noise if you are facing out to the street. A pleasant stay.

lets start with the good - fantastic location, great breakfast and friendly staff.
now onto opportunities for improvement - my room was incredibly dated, smelled old and musty. my allergies were SO bad in the room I had to keep the window open (it was 40F/4.5C) and I started getting sick after 2 days. I tried switching my room after the first night (arrived late at night) but they were unable to accommodate. all 3 of my friends rooms were MUCH better so hopfully they update all the remaining rooms soon!

The room itself was basic, no frills, but that's what we booked. The hotel itself is an outstanding choice. We stayed here in the second week of December to experience the Christmas market in Marienplatz, and the annual Krampus run, Location is perfect, it's VERY clean, the staff are courteous and friendly, and that breakfast is incredible. Highly recomment the Hotel Schlicker.

This historic hotel had the best possible location for our trip. It was steps away from the main sites, including Marienplatz, Hofbrauhaus, and shopping. The hotel itself was lovely - a very clean, spacious room. The included breakfast was delicious and had so many options. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is at the center of the Old Town with everything within a walking distance. I think for the location it's hard to beat. The room is also clean and sound insulation from the busy streets below are excellent.

It comes with free breakfast but we didn't get to try it as we chose to eat out for the duration of our stay.

Overall, the hotel was great! Only issue I had was the bed was so hard, no give or cushion to it. Pillows are hotel pillows...not the best. This hotel is in Alstadt (Old Town) Munich and is very close (2-3 min walk) to Marienplatz train station and lot of the sights (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, St. Peter). The staff were amazing and they will hold your luggage for as long as you need while exploring, even after you check out. If I come back to Munich, I'd definitely consider staying here again.

A disappointment overall. Great location, professional staff and a very good breakfast buffet but the room was small, carpet was dated and dirty and the bed was not comfortable (my wife hardly slept as she could feel the springs).

Church chimes at 7 am are interesting but very loud and went on for some time. Not the hotel to pick if you want to sleep in but a decent choice if you want to be central and get up early.

The hotel was very clean, modern and pleasant. The breakfast was very good and was probably the best of all hotels we stayed at in Germany and Switzerland. Overall I would have rated this a 5 star stay, but there is no AC and we had no option but to open the window (which faced the street). Unfortunately, we spent the night listening to all the drunks, obnoxious and rude people who think they are alone in this world and can therefore scream, yell and talk at the top of their lungs into the wee hours. After flying 9 hours, we were exhausted and didn't need that. So our first night in Germany wasn't the best sleeping experience. Not necessarily the hotel's fault, but just consider it if you plan to book here. I am not sure whether you can request a room at the back or not? Luckily we just stayed the night. Also, I can imagine that during the summer, it would be miserable sleeping there without the AC.

This is the best hotel in Munich. The location could not possibly be better. The surroundings are exciting, historic, and inviting whether you go out the back entrance or the front. Beer gardens, restaurants, rathskeller, historic churches and buildings, museums - all within short walking. Great value and memorable experiences.

One of the best overall places I've stayed around the world. The staff is delightful and helpful. Very kind people work here. The hotel is charming, room looked newly renovated, was very clean and quiet. The breakfast is elegant, yet relaxed and as tasty as it was artful. Location is a minute walk to Marienplatz, the viktualienmarkt, the metro. The Residenz, hofbrauhoas, shopping, Asamkirche and Peterskirche are within 5 minutes walk. We will stay here very time we return to Munich.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Schlicker! Hotel had everything we needed to have a nice vacation in Munchen. It's quiet and yet is in the middle of Old Town, next to Marinplatz. It's clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included and is food is very tasty. What's especially convenient is that breakfast is running until 11:30 on weekends and 10:30 on week days. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much -- we'll definitely be back next time we're in Munchen!

PS: tipping is very convenient and you can easily pay by scanning a QR code -- and tips are distributed across all staff.

Do not like that we had to request front desk to activate the AC so we could control it room was hot for a few hours before we complained that it wasn’t working just to be informed they had not turned it on for us to control and the queen bed was 2 beds pushed together. Overall not bad but for the price expected better.
