Stunning beach view , very well designed apartment , catered to all your needs ,large rooms . Very large comfortable bed . We went at end of February and weather was pleasant temperature , sufficient local bars open to enjoy the weather. I would highly recommend this hotel complex .

Exceptional place to stay for a relaxing beach stay. Very comfortable and well appointed apartment. Nice views of beach. Easy to drive to and parking. Friendly reception. Room was ready for early check in. It was very nice that they offered use of the resort facilities after checkout as that was 10 am. The pool is heated and one of the nicest we have seen in our travels. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. We stayed 2 nights but I wish we had more time to stay longer. Maybe next time.

8 nights stay. Stayed in a 1 bed apartment (B3). View was ok but definitely better views from there apartments. Good size for a 1 bed. Son on double sofa bed in living area. Good sized balcony although outdoor furniture wasn't great as it got extremely hot in the sun, especially the dining table. Not much room around pool area and you have to like the buzz of children in and around the pool. Beautiful garden area and bar area is well maintained. 2 pool tables and mini golf area. Overall a lovely place even if apartment was a little dated.

Très bien pour un petit sejour en bord de mer

Excellent endroit, a un jet de pierre de la plage. Les appartements sont bien équipés. Stationnement sur place très pratique. Belle plage. Appartement avec très belle vue sur la mer.

Appartements propres à l'arrivée, par contre il y a plusieurs fourmis qui entraient dans la cuisine (2e etage).

Le site est entretenu, malgré qu'il semble figé dans les années 2000.

Cleanest Hotel I’ve Stayed In

The property was exceptionally clean.
A little dated but clearly high end furnishings. Large and comfortable. The air con worked well. The balcony was huge. Friendly service apart from the bar/restaurant but this is run by a third party.
Shame because the rest of the hotel was excellent.

Great location on the beach front. Lots of choices of cafe, bars, restaurants. Safe area. Not crowded. Service was great. Nice people at the reception. But, the the resort is relatively outdated. Room was clean but the furniture was little old. In summary, we had great time.

Very close to nice public beach, beautiful sea view from porch, parking in front of porch, warm outside swimming pool in calm area (protected from winds), necessary kitchen, bathroom and cleaning amenities provided and very easy and friendly check-in.
Our double bed had a light in the middle and there was only one small old TV that wasn't smart (no Netflix, Amazon etc.). WiFi is optical, but still slow - limited to 10-15 Mbps.

Have stayed here before, so that should speak volumes! Have previously stayed in B apartments, this time we stayed in C. These apartments are smaller and don't have such a good outlook, also the terrace is a lot smaller. I assume they are older. Plenty of parking and convenient for the airport.

Excellent stay - have stayed before at McDonald Villacana resort, but needed to be a little closer to Calahonda this time. The apartment we had was on the first floor with a sea view from the balcony. The apartment was larger than expected and had a large balcony too (big enough for a table with 4 chairs and 2 sun loungers without being cramped). An added bonus was the washing machine in the apartment. Food in the restaurant was great - wouldn't hesitate to use again or to recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights with friends. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were clean.

Reception closes early in the evening so we were able to check in via the evening caretaker. All in all a pleasant stay. I would highly recommend!

Overall the stay was fantastic.
The furniture in the room is a little dated and the fabric on the sofas looked tired. We had just driven a long way and when we checked in it didn’t feel sparkling clean. A little spray and dust by us and it felt better. Parking is very easy but getting into the hotel car park and exiting can be a little exciting as it’s just off onto a very fast 80kmh zone road. Beach access is extremely easy and close, beware of sea urchins and cool Atlantic fed waters. We didn’t use the pool or restaurant but people looked happy and there are a couple of pool tables there. Wifi was an extra for our stay. I would stay again.

Relaxing quiet seafront apartments

All the staff including those at the front desk, pool, cleaning and restaurant were courteous and professional. Javier on the front desk in the evenings was particularly helpful to both of us. There is entertainment on 3 evenings a week and it was enjoyed by many of the residents. They also had group activities such as arranged beach walks which would be nice if you were travelling alone. The apartments are at the sea and there is a gate onto a boardwalk that goes towards Cala de Mijas and in the other direction CaboPino. We had a lovely relaxing time. There is parking, supermarkets across a footbridge and a bus stop directly outside the property. There was some road noise in the apartment which did not annoy us but might be an issue for someone else. The apartment we stayed in was a little dated and would benefit from modernising inside.That said we stayed at a low rate and inside was spoitlessly clean and had all the little extras you may need. You can also hire sunloungers for the beach. The pool closes at 7 sharp. All in all a very nice place to stay and we would go back.

Everything you need in a hotel

Beautiful surroundings, gardens, pool, beach and view. Lovely bar area, happy hour daily, entertainment regular, staff were very friendly.
Chalets were comfortable.
Lidl over the road. Bars and restaurants a short walk down the beach boardwalks.
You must visit Cabopino for a great selection of bars and restaurants only 5 mins by taxi.
Minus point, had to pay an electricity bill before we left !

This is a beautiful hotel property, but very poorly managed. It took almost an hour to check in- they could not find our reservation that was fully paid for. They charge for electricity, which we knew, but it still seemed ridiculous- the washing machine in the unit was dysfunctional. The very beautiful pool closed at 7pm! It was still light out until at least 9. They literally kicked us all out several hours before dinner time. Also, check in time wasnt until 5pm and you had to check out by 10am (if you dont know spain, this is ridiculously early. Their restaurant wasnt even open for breakfast by 10 am) So they need 7 hours to clean the room??? I feel like with better policies, this place could be great.

Extremely pleased with the warm welcoming at the reception on the day of our arrival. Staff very helpful and always willing to assist throughout our staying in that beautiful complex.

Our appartment was everything we could wish for .It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect if you want a quiet relaxing holiday . The beach was clean and never crowded. All the staff at the Leila Playa are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely apart-hotel / well maintained / clean and tidy / excellent apartments / polite and efficient staff.
Gardens / landscaping with waterfalls are lovely. Pool good size.
Restaurant and terrace good. Food slightly above average.
Beach - unspoilt / not too busy. Beach bar 'Luna Bar' - perfect for sardines and sangria.
Supermarket x2 - only 5 minutes walk.
Walk along beach approx 15 minutes to little port for bars and restaurants.
All in all a lovely apart-hotel.

Gorgeous apartments on the beach

We have just returned from an extremely relaxing holiday at Leila Playa. Very clean and well equipped apartments with lots of attention to detail. On our midnight arrival a welcome refreshment tray was much appreciated. Staff were very, very helpful e.g. I requested extra pillows and they had already arrived when I got back 2 mins. later. The pool area and gym were kept spotlessly clean. On our last day extra towels and shower facilities were provided for our late departure.
There was entertainment most nights and we especially enjoyed the Tues. night group called Exposion who were very talented. Ideal location on the beach with a nearby cafe and a beautiful marina at Cabopino just a 20 min walk along the beach-well worth a visit especially for the wide selection of restaurants. Just across the bridge there are 2 supermarkets-Lidl and Supersol with reasonably priced food and drink. Definitely will be returning to Leila Playa in the future. The other guests were very friendly and we met some wonderful people.The only disappointment was not having a proper balcony.The one we had was enclosed and much too small for 4 adults.(C block) Despite this we had fabulous sea views from our windows. A thoroughly brilliant holiday was had by all.

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was lovely, we had everything that we needed plus more - washer, dishwasher, microwave, washing powder, all cooking utensils etc.

The room was very clean.

We had a balcony overseeing the sea. The pool was clean and not too busy in the mornings and early evenings. We had no problems getting loungers.

The restaurant was great, lovely paella and the service was good.

Overall a very pleasant stay! Highly recommended.

A discreet and uncrowded beach resort

Enjoyed an excellent stay, with an uncrowded, unspoilt and family friendly beach and hotel. Lots of amenities close by and short drive to Marbella and Fuengirola. Only areas that were less than ideal were the food quality at the hotel restaurant and the fact the 2 bed apartments only had a single bathroom.

A lovely hidden gem right on the beach

This place is mostly delightful and a world away from the hubbub in the nearby towns. The only thing we really disliked immensely was our last night, as we were moved to C block. This is right by the motorway, the rooms are smaller and the standard of accommodation is far inferior to the other accommodation.

The staff were all really helpful, friendly, polite and efficient. The beach bar nearby, Luna Bar, is a nice place to chill out. The pool area in the hotel is very tranquil.

We would return but only if we knew for certain we would not be in C block.

Great Hotel, right on the beach in Calahonda.

Great value Hotel for our short break, situated right on the beach and just a 10 minute walk to the local marina where the food is excellent.. We didnt eat at the hotel as we were travelling around the area but the pool was warm and the rooms supremely clean. The main A7 road zips right behind the hotel reception and yet the rooms are down near the beach and you don't hear any of the traffic, just the waves and Pool fountains.
It was ideal for us. Oh BTW Benahavis is a must, its a hillside village above Marbella, about 30 mins away and has an amazing array of quant restuarants.

Very nice , went with my small family and had great time in this place , spotless , very tidy , quality people , everyone was very friendly , mostly from time-share , very friendly staff with smile on their faces all the time, close to all locations , airport , Marbella , Puerto banus .

The downside is the food at the Resturant has no taste , I am not a chef , but I can certainly cook 50 times better , poor menu , so if I was you I would not bother to eat there . There are few restaurants locally that you would enjoy better.
Other things it was not much , hardly worth mentioning , we paid 49 euros in 1 week for electricity and 20 euros for the internet broadband , that was mentioned in the advert when booking .
I strongly Adice you if you are thinking about hiring a car to contact a company called yellow car , very local as they will bring the car to your hotel , good rates and excellent friendly service .

Great stay!

We arrived at the resort and were pleased to find a very clean, comfortable two bedroom apartment with an ocean view and outdoor dining area. The sunsets and sunrises were just amazing. The heated pool was a real hit because even though the temperature hovered around 17 degrees, the pool was beautifully warm! A real added treat. We had a great week! The unlimited internet and a selection of movies on demand was 20 euros and electricity for the week was 14 euros.

Nice hotel, but too close to the highway.

The hotel was fine enough, but the location was too close to the highway for my taste. Especially the room we got. The \"backyard\" of the hotel down towards the beach was very nice and cozy, though. No restaurants close by was a problem for us as we did not have a car. I would say that a car is almost a must for staying at this hotel. If you do you are very close to Marbella and Malaga and other cities/sites. But if you do not have a car you are kind of stuck in a place without any restaurants, sites and such close by.

Stayed there for one week in June and will be going back in September. Loved the most friendly staff, special Anna who was so sweet and helpful. The place was spotless and the entertainment was good fun. Met a lovely couple around the pool, Dave and Ann, who we will be meeting up with soon in Weybridge.
Only a few moans, food only reasonable and could do with waiter service around the pool area. Apart from that a great little place to stay.

Staff could not have been more helpful, entertainment and activities were good and we had a very pleasant walk along the beach with the entertainment manager of The Dona Lola resort (sister hotel). would return.

The hotel/apartments were in good condition and beautifully clean. The towels were nice and fluffy and the bed linen was also in good condition. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen area was well equipped. Our apartment C1 had wonderfull views over the woods to the side and the pool and sea to the front. It was a great touch to have english TV. The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpfull and polite at all times. We only visited the restaurant once but on that ocassion the food and entertainment were good. The hotel is situated right onto the beach and is just a short walk away from the harbour with its superb restaurants and bars. It is a very quite place with mainly older couples but that suited us. We took a taxi into Puerto Banus one in evening and it cost 38 euros but it was worth it for the \"Puerto Banus\" experience. We loved the place so much we are planning on returing very soon.

Relaxing get away

I stayed for four days at the end of June with my wife and two kids. The resort is good and very convenient for the beach. My only drawback is that it is a bit far further from the restaurants and bars at the local marina than I had thought as there is no road along the beach front as shown on google maps. However, the local beach bar and the on site restaurant were good and made up for this.

Great property

Great spot - friendly and helpful staff. Heated outdoor pool on site and indoor pool at the sister property are both great. Need a car and access to and from main road can be difficult at busy times.
Great place to relax, unwind and good base from which to tour the region

Fabulous beach side location

Fabulous apartments, pool and staff. Views from our apartment amazing, right on the beach. Food at snack bar during the day was good but horrendous food in the restaurant in the evening. The harbour was only 15 minutes walk with some great restaurants and bars. Good supermarkets across the road. Great bus service just outside the hotel if you do not have a car. Check in was meant to be 5pm, but informed them of early flight and had no problem on arrival at 11am (small charge) also had a late check out. Internet connection good (20 euro per week)which also included access to lots of newly released films. Charged at end of stay for electricity but only a few euros.

\"Great place to enjoy your holiday\"

Prior to departing for this trip we were moved from Leila Playa Club to Macdonald Dona Lola resort in Calahonda due to refurbishments in the Leila Playa. The information given is for the Macdonald Dona Lola. This is a great place to have a short break like we did or a holiday, its located on the beach which is private and has a gym, saunas, indoor pool and has bars and restaurants within the complex. We had a really relaxing time there and would recommend it to everyone.

Great for a quiet and relaxing holiday

My partner and I found the location perfect for our requirments, was a perfect and reasonable taxi ride away from Marbella and peurt of benuse. The pool was clean and in the perfect sun catchment area. The apartment was clean with all useful items. Unfortunatly we got two single beds but squeezed them together they were a bit hard.but on an whole a great holiday experience

Good for couples

We enjoyed our stay at the Leila Playa as it suited our needs. Two supermarkets over the road were handy but we had to use the footbridge as the accommodation is on a dual carriageway.
Great access to the beach just one minute walk from our apartment and a few seconds walk to the lovely clean pool and jacuzi.
Entertainment on three evenings out of the seven was good.
Must say depends on which apartment you stay in as some have better views than others and I would not like to stay in certain ones.
The gardens are kept well manicured and the outside areas hosed down every morning.

FUN FOR ALL TYPES.

This is a timeshare resort with lovely landscaping. The bedroom had a double bed in one unit which I stayed in the first week. In the subsequent week, I was moved to a partial water view with two single beds because the timeshare owner would be arriving to stay in her unit. I would say that the rating of three stars is appropriate for a two story level property without elevators and without updated air conditioning units and furniture. They have good entertainment during the week and other activities, but the music is too loud if you are in your unit for the evening/night. A car is needed to sightsee, because the recommended tours are quite a distance and some are not accesible by bus. There is a bus stop on the front of the premises for nearby city activities which take approximately 30-45 minutes to reach for shopping and dining. Please note that beach recliners are limited in number so it is best to provide your own and jet skis are not allowed. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and accommodating.

little extras

Good quality stuff - kitchen gear, pillows, veranda furniture. Great view over the ocean and quick access tother beach. My wife liked all the little extras: bottle of water on arrival, dressing gowns (!), lots of kitchen utensils. We had 20 TV channels, including German Eurosport and 1 Sky Movie channel.

We went to Tangiers on an excursion, 80 Euros each. That was a bit tame - nice clean shops as well as a number of haggling bazaar salesmen

Lovely development

apartments set around lovely gardens close to the beach. Some apartments could be noisey as they are close to the restaurant which has entertainment some nights. Very friendly helpful reception staff. Excellent restaurant, overall a very nice place to stay

Very Helpful Friendly Staff

It was the perfect place for us to spend several nights. They had entertainment, a bar, a restaurant, swimming pool, kitchen, on the beach, for one of the best amenities was a washing machine. The staff was patient and went out of his way to be very helpful. We liked that it was accross from a super market. Beautiful landscaping. Patio to sit out on. Very nice!!

Not a Hotel but a Timeshare Resort

Accommodation a little tired witha small bathroom. Stayed in a one bed timeshare apartment. Good value but a shame that had to pay for electricity used including for a weeks standard charge when only stayed 4 nights. Told by reception that everyone pays weekly charge if only staying one night. Nice well kept grounds and pool with sea view.

Hotellet er ikke av nyeste dato og bærer preg av slitasje, men er meget sjarmerende. Har fantastisk beliggenhet, flott hage- og bassengområde og ligger nesten rett på stranda. Bra service.

Bassenget averteres som oppvarmet, men vannet var iskaldt og umulig å bade i i februar.
Dårlig renhold på rommet ved ankomst, som skyldtes nok alle de stormene som herjet i Andalucia i januar, men kunne ha vært sjekket før gjestene ankom. Det ordnet seg raskt da vi sa fra.

Restauranten på stedet anbefales ikke; dårlig mat, lite blid personale og alle vi 4 som spiste der ble dårlige selv om vi spiste 4 forskjellige retter. Kanskje vi var bare uheldige den dagen, hvem vet.

Fin utsikt og trivelig hageanlegg. Vennlige og hjelpsomt personale. Godt renhold, men plaget av kakelakker som det var mye av på området i år. Da vi meldte om observasjon av dette var de hurtig tilstede for å bekjempe og utbedre mulige steder for hvor de kunne komme seg inn. Ingen plager etterpå.
Sittemøbler i stue er gamle og slitte og ikke så
komfortable. Det gjelder også utemøbler / solsenger. Hyggelig restaurant og god mat. Veldig hyggelig underholdning med musikk og dans tirsdager og torsdager

Hôtel correct, proche de la plage.
Nous avons séjourné 2 fois.
La 2ème fois nous étions dans l'ancien bâtiment qui est vieillot, pas de terrasse.
