We arrived at the check in desk at about 12.30 and we were advised that our room wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. This would be understandable in season but the resort was deserted so I don’t believe our room was still being cleaned up until 4pm when we were eventually allowed in.

The apartment was very clean but there was a step ladder, a large dustpan and brush as well as an ironing board in the corner of the bathroom which made it look like a store cupboard. These would have been best placed out of site in a separate storage area.

The kitchen had everything you would need to make food, and the cleaning supplies were a nice touch. The only criticism would be that a draining rack/board of some description would have been useful as there was no where to put the washing up so we had to put it on the only tea towel that was provided in order to dry everything.

One thing that you would need to be aware of is that the resort is very remote and there isn’t a beach close by. There is a very busy dual carriage way as you leave the resort with no shops within walking distance. There are a couple of shops on site but they are very pricey.

All in all it’s a great place to use as a base if you have a car and want to travel around the area.

We drove to a large shopping mall just outside Malaga, Plaza Mayor where you can park for free and then there is a train station where you can take the train for €4 into Malaga. This takes 15 and is much easier and cheaper that trying to drive.

Walls paper thin. Could hear noise from neighbours. No help with luggage. Getting in and out of property a nightmare. Winding narrow backroads, back alleys to access from the south. Restaurant was average and overpriced. Breakfast was the only exception. Low water pressure in shower. Room was small with no comfortable chair-chairs to sit on. I would rate it as a 2 star property maximum.

Our room met our expectations and we loved the location. It was a relatively easy walk to Fuengirola but you do need to do quite a bit of walking if you do not have a car. The resort is huge! Very well maintained and the staff were friendly and provided us with anything we asked for. Food in the restaurants was very good but they will not separate checks if you are with others.
We took a couple of the pre-arranged excursions but a great deal of bus time is spent picking up customers at other locations!! Overall we would recommend staying here.

The hot tub isn’t private at all, it’s private use but can be seen from every angle. There were ants in the bathtub. We’ve both been bitten by bed bugs. Expected a lot more for this hotel and was told it’s quiet period so a lot less busier, which made me think they could’ve spread guests out more across the HUGE complex

The room was clean and comfortable and exactly what we needed for this trip. We were comfortable and the room with the kitchen was great. All that we needed was there. The only weird thing was the tv in the living room and the tv in the bedroom got different channels. That was odd, but not a problem. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend Wyndham Grand Costa Del Sol to anyone. Based on it's location, a car is a very nice to have so you can travel around and see all the different unique little towns.

We had a great stay! We were impressed with the size of our One Bedroom with Full Kitchen. The unit had a good sized terrace / balcony and had a sea view. We enjoyed the convenience of the market/store on the property. We really enjoyed going for dinner at the Safari Restaurant. Danny & David and all the staff made our evening fun. The menu is a mix of Spanish, Mediterranean & European. Excellent food & drinks and top shelf service. The front desk staff & customer service were very friendly & helpful. Thanks for a great vacation! We would definitely stay again.

First one we had to move out of due to Noyes next to us that’s not the hotel‘s fault. The second one I went to the phone was not working. I asked for water and they refused to give me I had to go pay close to seven euros for a big bottle of water. Also, when we came back in the evening, our key card was not working. Had to go back to the office which is far away must drive there very inconvenient.

If you miss entrance to main reception from the motorway, it’s confusing to drive around the resort. Swimming pool was packed and no towels. They didn’t call to say the room was ready, it clearly wasn’t cleaned properly and small ants in bathroom as well as mosquitoes in the room. Very disappointing. I’m sure it’s a nice resort but this time it has a low standard for the price you pay. Kids always enjoy swimming pools and Sunday DJ was good fun if you can get a sun lounger. Bar food service was good.

A poor man’s Marriott Andalusia

We’ve stayed at Marriott Andalusia for a number of years, but this year they had no space so we tried this place. On arrival, instant regret. If we could have refunded and left we would have done.

Paid for a “premium” plus apartment with hot tub. Asked for higher floor, sea view if possible.

We got a ground floor apartment with heavily obscured, hardly any view other than a load of trees right in front of the balcony. See photos.

For us, the location was terrible. Set on a steep hill, some distance away from any notable resort and right next to the main dual carriageway, which has a scary give way junction to enter as cars come at higher speeds.

The pool is too small for the large number of people, several days we did not get a sun lounger. It also felt built up and concrete heavy.

For us the facilities were very poor, a tennis court a very long walk from the apartment and you had to pay for racquet hire and balls. Also had to pay for dishwasher tablets and hardly, if any, room cleaning. Other than that, not much else to do and not many places to go unless you have a car. The gym is alright, We were utterly bored.

On every metric for us, Marriott Andalusia is substantially superior.

The worst holiday stay we have had in at least 12 years, if not longer.

Complained at the desk but the guy seemed uninterested in making it better, told him we will never return to this place.

This is not 5 stars as advertised. Room smells badly. We stayed for 5 days and no cleaning or towel change. You cannot book late checkout in advance as advertised. Property old and was dirty with hair when we arrived. There was a gathering of insects by the kitchen sink. Food options same across restaurants and not good quality. There is nothing near by to walk to outside the resort. Beach is very small and rocky and steep so not good for kids. Would never stay here again! They don’t send invoice for stay except on Fridays!!

Had a fantastic week staying in Santa Barbara Heights area of Wyndham Grand Costa Del Sol.
The apartment was luxury and well equipped.
Beds were amazingly comfortable and we loved our little balcony pool!!
We ate out at 3 of the on-site restaurants, Safari was our favourite! There were daily happy hours at different times across the restaurants, 2 for 1 on local drinks and a different cocktail of the day!
Lots of different acts at each restaurant too and each night finished off with dancing and singing with the late night performance in The Grand Lounge, great fun!!
It is a big site and quite hilly, but there is an on-site road train that runs till late to help move you around.
Highly recommended, we will return

We were extremely disappointed with our accommodation because we expected a four to five star hotel similar to the experience we have had in Wyndham faro and the fact is this place is not a hotel at all there is no room service no change of towels we even had to go out and buy basics like coffee and toilet paper if you are looking for a dated self contained apartment, then go for it but to tag it with the Wyndham brand is bizarre

The condo was fabulous, comfortable beds, beautiful terrace, beautifully decorated, and somewhat well equipped kitchen (no spatula, nor thongs), no free coffee pods, sugar, creamer, provided with room, therefore planning ahead.

Would also be useful if hotel could provide a small pool net for each of personnal plunge pool. We were at the condo for 6 nights and our plunge pool was quite dirty (bugs, palm tree flower petals). Given no cleaning service of our plunge pool was offered during our stay, having a small pool cleaning net would have been useful.

I will tell you good things and bad things let's start from good one's Facility very nice and landscaping gorgeous around very clean and people who work like service people very helpful and polite not too crowded people who work in Safari restaurant very quick and good food now starts with bed things first of all no signs for main reception it's huge Facility it's nightmare you're driving around and big trouble to find it finally when you get in main office onether nightmare people at front desk working so slow disorganized seriously check in it was about over an hour next hour we couldn't find the unit and I got sheety room with mildew stings I paid for 2 oceans view units me and my sister together I was one building she was 3 levels up but finally gave me better view and better room but by the road totally customer service it should be for sale otherwise I was happy I would give +3 for 5 stars

Large property. Great staff. Their main restaurant Med had a good menu selection and an amazing staff that was friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast selection was excellent and the omelette station and the pastries outstanding.
Room service menu is good but there is a slight language barrier. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the complimentary drinks due to our hectic schedule.
Porters and front desk were extremely helpful and responsive. We will definitely consider this hotel for our next visit to the area.

Great 3 night break. As a family of 4 we booked a 2 bed apartment which was spacious and 2 bathrooms.
The rooms are a little dated but perfectly clean and comfortable. The kitchen area served us well for our short stay and we requested a coffee machine for our room which was quickly delivered.
My only gripes are the sofa smelt a bit musty and the power tripped a few times.
The pool areas are lovely and we ate at Safari twice which was very nice.
The coffee shop was nice with amazing ice cream but it was a good 20 min walk from where we stayed.
You can walk to Fuengirola along the carriageway but I'd recommend a car depending on your plans.

The site on which our apartment was situated was very expensive. It was therefore quite difficult to walk to the nearest exit. People with mobility problems should be aware of this. It is the case, however that you can call for a porter who will take you by transport to the nearest exit or the one that you would wish to exit from. You still would need a considerable walk to get to the nearest public transport facility. When we first arrived, there was only one restaurant open. However, the advertising for the property suggested that there were multiple restaurants available. No mention of winter schedules was made. As regards to the property itself, the kitchen equipment as regards cutlery, Crockery, and cooking utensils was poor. We had to ask for several standard pieces of equipment. There is a train which circulates the property every hour during the morning up until 1400 there is a gap to 1700 when it starts again. However, this facility again was not available when we arrived in January

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend and was disappointed with my experience. I specifically reserved a suite with a plunge pool after reading that the pool was heated, but it was not. This was a significant factor in choosing this hotel, as I was celebrating my anniversary and wanted a relaxing experience.

Additionally, the hotel photos made it appear that the property was directly on the beach, but upon arrival, we realized this was not the case. The lack of beach access was a major letdown, as it was another key reason we chose this location.

Overall, I was completely let down by these issues and feel that the stay did not meet my expectations.

Mixed experience stay but fab customer service

First experience was honestly not good, but once I found the right person to talk to, we had a great time. Lovely apartment with hot tub on the balcony, sea view, good facilities in the kitchenette, superb customer service (second time around anyway!). Some lovely rooms including a fully fitted kitchen, great sound system and very comfy beds. Restaurant is fine, menu is limited but food is reasonable quality and staff in restaurant were absolutely lovely. Breakfast choice was good (but expensive if you don't get a package deal) Nice to have a heated pool in the winter! Seriously blown away by the second lot of customer service, they couldn't have been better. Liked the look of the trips available and the train to get around the complex (the place is HUGE), but didn't get time to try them out. Next time hopefully. We'll definitely go back.

I was not happy that this huge resort that was almost empty ( low season of November / floods) and yet I was assigned a room that had a door separating it from the next one ( junior suite) occupied by family with little kids. Annoyed little with noise. I would have complained but noise stopped around 9:00 PM which was bearable.

I love this area and have stayed twice in this hotel. Firstly on both occasions I did not find the reception staff very welcoming. The apartments also need a little updating. My iPad is bigger than the Tv in the bedroom. The jacuzzi bath even though I had turned it off made a lot of noise all night. The washing machine buttons are difficult to press and also had no instructions on it. A few extra utensils in the kitchen would be nice. A proper flipper for the frying pan!! The most annoying thing about this hotel and it has happened twice now is the cleaners knocking on your door non stop once your early check out time comes about and that’s 10am. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world and never experienced this to this extent. I know you may say get out on time then but the rate you pay on high season deserves a little give and on low season,what’s the rush giving people an extra 10 mins while they are in holiday mood. This time was low season and the check in time is 4pm so there is plenty of time to clean. Anyway the cleaner told me after the 5th ring of the bell that I should pay more money if I wanted to stay late. Gosh where would you get it. I don’t know if this is part of Wyndham training.

It's located on a hill ! It's not beachfront or walking distance to the beach, you can see the ocean and it's a good 20mins walk down to the small pebble not suitable for swimming beach. Remember if you're walking down from your appartment to reception or the \"beach\" you will have to walk back up again. Not suitable for people who can't walk long distances and up and down hilly areas too. 2hrs extra for a late check out is not free, it's 30 euros ! Check out at 10 am. Ridiculous ! All branded hotels give you free late checkouts easily and happily. Asked for fresh towels, never received them, shower was blocked, no1 came to fix it after reporting it few times. Luckily there's a second shower. Room layout a bit strange. Large bed = 2 twin bed put together. Nothing to do in the area. There's a pool and onsite restaurant and a shop. Would not recommend this accommodation. This is not 5 star property. The only good thing was - the porters team was super nice and very friendly !

Nice Unit but Noisy Experience

Our unit was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped. We found numerous insects especially in the kitchen. We set the air conditioning at 17 degrees but the unit was much warmer than that at all times making sleeping difficult. For about 5 days of our 14 day stay we had extremely noisy occupants in the adjacent unit. Customer service, at our request, did contact them but to no avail. The units have heavy chairs in both the kitchen and on the patio, and the movement of them from adjacent units and units above is very loud.

This was our second stay and we really enjoyed having an apartment with a small kitchen, washer and dryer, balcony, etc. although it could’ve had a few more amenities in the kitchen. The staff were excellent. The pool was very nice.

Fantastic hotel

Great 4 night stay at Santa Barbara Heights, the apartment was very well equipped, close to shops and easy access to other places in the costa del sol. The staff were also fantastic, Artin & Christina were extremely helpful during our stay and sorted everything we needed. Would stay again & recommend to others.

It is a very well maintained property and I liked that there were separate pools for families with kids versus adults. The restaurants were also very good and we enjoyed the fresh backed croissants each morning that we picked up as Zack's market. However, there are at least a dozen things about this resort that led us to conclude we would not go back: the matress on our bed was too hard and gave us aching hips by morning, you can't exchange towels except for grabbing a new one from a chair at the pool, they don't clean the rooms unless you stay more than 7 days, the adult pool is way too deep (over 6 feet, which made it uncomfortable to go in), the entertainment is very late at night (10:30 typically), and all the items in Zack's market are huge, including the bottles of water alchohol, shampoo/conditioner, and other personal items. They are too large for anyone staying only a week, unless I suppose you're with a large group. The resort looks good from the outside, but the approach regarding most things we asked about was is very stingy and there are so many oddities about the place, that we will not be going back. On a bright note, the food at the Safari restaurant was great and we went there several times during our stay.

Great place but could be so much better!

We had a great time here, but is was often in spite of the Wyndham. The whole pool area needs resurfacing, not being able to set up a pool bar tab or put charges on the room, room not resembling pictures online, wild pigs roaming the estate, noisy 2am rubbish collection.. all little issues that detract from what is a really great place. Lots of small improvements needed and this has the basis of being a truly amazing place.

having been to other Wyndham resorts this is by far the weakest one by far.
NEVER take a b or a room. its basically one big hotel room cut in two and it means theres a locked door between both rooms and you can HEAR EVERYTHING its horrible. tried calling room service no answer. stayed 5 days didn’t see a cleaning employee once.
its all on a hill so if somone has mobility issues it would be a nightmare (I dont but you need a car)
very disappointed in a nut shell. and the ocean view isnt one at all you need to go on the balcony, look round the corner and there you can the ocean.

We stayed at this property the year before and could not rate it high enough, this year we upgraded our room and this was a big mistake. The room was smaller but it was so run down. The drinking glasses were chipped. The balcony was cover in bird droppings, walls were covered in dirt. The place was absolutely disgusting, I have never stayed in such filth. The alarm was broken on arrival it needed a new battery and we are still waiting for security to come back and fix this on our departure. We tried to move rooms but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. Please avoid this hotel at all costs. Pool area and gardens all still well maintained it was only our accommodation that was way below the standard you would expect from Wyndham.
