The rooms were very clean. Although my room was small it had everything I needed. Air conditioning for hot afternoons and heat for cold mornings. The breakfast was good. The staff was helpful and attentive. The location is excellent for anyone with mobility issues. Only a few blocks to the Zocalo or to Santo Domingo.

We stayed at Hotel Abu for a week between Christmas and New Years 2025. We loved the comfortable room and central location. The hotel is kept very clean and we enjoyed the breakfast provided.
I want to highlight staff who were extra helpful to us as we speak very little Spanish.
We left some valuables in our room at checkout and before we discovered this staff contacted us and is helping us ship them back to us- amazing service!

You get what you pay for. It’s an affordable hotel, walking distance to all restaurants and close to centro. Only thing is that the bathroom was outdated but it worked fine. A party venue is right across the street so bring earplugs if you want to sleep well.

There is a night club next door, but with their sound proof walls and doors I heard little to no noise.

My wife and I spent six days at Hotel Abu during “Dia de Los Muertos Celebrations.” The city was very busy with thousands of people everywhere. During our visit, the hotel was fully booked. The staff never missed a beat in meeting our needs. The room was excellent, the only critique was we wished the room had more outlets to plug things in. The daily breakfast was always hot and had a good variety. The hotel services were boundless (tours, taxi service, and shuttles to the airport to name a few), the Wi-Fi was strong, and they even had a laundry service for washing your clothes. During the celebrations we found our hotel was literally walking distance from everything. The staff was always very helpful 24/7. Big thanks to Lulu who was always making sure we had everything in our room. My wife and I felt like we were at home, I hope the other hotels in Oaxaca are run like this one. God Bless.

This hotel is in a convenient location in the center of the city. My room was extremely cramped with barely any room to walk around the bed and the shower was extremely tight. This might have been my room only but it was uncomfortable. I only stayed one night because my flight was delayed so I spent only a few hours there. I was also asked to process my credit card even though everything was paid for in advance. In the end they still processed what they said would be a penny even though I did not use any of the hotel services. I think it was OK just a bit strange.

Our stay was pleasant here at Hotel Abu. Overall clean and quiet and at the center of everything. Hot water was never an issue during showers as well. Our flight arrived at 8 AM and we were able to get an early check in at 10 AM as long as we agreed to pay for half the daily fee.
I requested late checkout and ordered room service on our last day - very simple, coffee and fresh fruit with yogurt from the restaurant downstairs and it was just what I needed to start the day. Latest we were told we could checkout without a fee was 1 PM which was great.
The only thing I wish we had was a window - there were no windows in our room but overall we really recommend this place for the value and location.

Great hotel in the center of everything.

Really nice hotel in the center of Downtown Oaxaca. Everything you could ask for is within walking distance: cafes, bars and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was right in the heart of the historic center and a nice area. Walking distance to many sites and great restaurant. The hotel is modern and was surprisingly nice for the price. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend, as the value for the price was impressive.

Close to the center of town. A clean hotel with some amenities. Room service/restaurant only open until 1pm, which was a bummer, but many restaurants and cafes very near by. No many outlets and your chargers hit the light switches, but front desk is great and gave us a triple outlet extension when we asked.

Perfect Hotel for Oaxaca City

I really loved this hotel's location. Walking distance to everything. Every festivity was just a few blocks away. The front desk was very kind and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when I go back.

Located centrally on the edge of downtown, this hotel is fairly modern and very clean. It's not the biggest hotel, but there's a good amount rooms and the price is fairly affordable. There's 5 floors of rooms with a restaurant next to the lobby, plus a gift shop.

The room itself is nice, the bed is comfortable for the most part, the pillow alright, lighting okay, but also depending on which way the room faces, you could get more sunlight. There's a tv with a lot of channels, but they're all Spanish, you get a free bottle of water every day. You get soap, shampoo, and Kleenex. Air conditioning worked. The only thing was that they ignored the do not disturb sign, so I'm not sure what the point of it is if they're going to open the door no matter what, plus the extra lock is useless since they opened the door with it locked.

Around, in the immediate vicinity there's not much to eat, but if you walk a few more blocks there will be more options. Downtown is a long block north, the mall to the east, a Mercado to the northwest, and not much on the south side. The cross streets can be busy, and there's busses that run through the area/street...but there's no information at the terminal/stops. Taxis are usually plentiful, as is uber.
