This resort is just average in general and there are many other better options in Lake Como. The rooms and suites are very much different from pictures showed online and it could be misleading. Shower drain constantly has a problem of overflowing water inside our lake view suite but it was later fixed by the engineer. Location of the resort is quite remote and it is very hard to get your own Uber or call for a taxi. However, the casual restaurant with outside seating has great pizzas and pastas and staff members provide great service with warm hospitality.

Beautiful but not worth the money you pay

Lovely hotel. However, our room was sooo small. They could have at least miunt the TV to the wall to open some space. They have a table to place things on but they should place a dresser. We had one very small closet. They gave us a room all the way on the top of hill and so if you wanted assistance with golf cart, you would feel obligated to tip so imagine doing it 5 or 6 times. You jist spend your day tipping all day. Expensive stay for not a very comfortable stay.

2nd time at this property/resort since June 2021. Definitely not the caliber of the Mandarin Oriental Hotels like Bangkok, Barcelona or Miami. Work needed in terms of hospitality like staff re-training. Was better in 2021. Has definitely gone downhill since.

This hotel is just perfection, the team is super welcoming, they make us feel at home. Tuki ( my dog) is always filled with surprises and details, as well as us. The food was amazing, Silvia, Meriana, and all the team was flawless. Also the dock guys where super kind and helpful with us and the boat.

The staff was terrible, unprofessional, and did not communicate with one another.
Mandarin is supposed to be a world class resort and service.
I wish I could dispute these charges but I don’t know how… it was horrendous.
Spending 3500-4000$ A NIGHT for terrible food and service is very sad.
I even went to the pool one day and they were full and I had to sit and wait for a chair 1 hour.
I am a big client of yours on Expedia but this was a terrible experience.

This hotel is just perfection, the staff is excellent, all the details are flawless! I just want to congratulate everyone for this amazing experience, I’ve been going several times to the hotel and everything is super curated and makes you feel like luxury at its maximum. Our experience overall was great. The service was excellent, something you should expect at a luxury hotel at this price point. We stayed (2) nights at the hotel and enjoyed celebrating our engagement here.

Spa:
We used the thermal room spa 2/2 days due to some cloudy weather. The spa staff greeted us and gave us rooms to change into while we waited for our room to be ready. The spa staff was friendly and very accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Spa staff!

Dining:
There are (2) main restaurants on site. We ate at both and thought the food was great, just a little on the pricy side in comparison to normal 'Italy' prices. The Japanese inspired food was good, but being from California it wasn't much different than what we see here. We had breakfast in the mornings which were also complimentary with our stay.

Transportation/Boat rentals
This is where I'd say the hotel lacked in service. The hotel itself has a shuttle that brings you into the town of Como each night for dinner. There was only (1) shuttle and 6-people per car. The first night they messed up on our reservation but the bar manager gave us a complimentary drink for waiting another 40-min.They have a tesla on site but charge for this? Odd.

Boat rentals were expensive at 600 EUR for 2-hours and not guaranteed the wooden boats. We rented a self-drive boat instead for 60 EUR an hour since they couldn't promise a wood boat.

We just came back from a 4 day break in the Mandarin celebrating me and my wife’s 20th anniversary it was truly amazing, the concierge arranged flowers for the room and decorated the beds with petals in the number 20 which we will never forget. Lovely little touches and your feel unique and special with staff welcoming in each area by name(stay a few days have them time for this not sure if this would be if just staying for one night) Spa is lovey (peppermint shower loved it)and the floating pool was nice although felt a little sea sick later. We will come back and celebrate maybe our 21/22/23 as well.

The spa facilities were great with my favorite being the alternating shower stations of hot and cold water - refreshing. Beautiful hotel but get your rooms directly from them . I got a room through a third party and they said it was not lake view but I remember I had it booked as lake view otherwise I would stay at much cheaper hotel .
Finally the hotel manager honor it but took going through lots of people and a friend helping us in this matter . I was disappointed with them at first but then we got a great suite with a full view . The property and restaurant is Fantastic .

NO VALET PARKING! I arrived at night down a very steep, hairpin turn drive only to be told I would have to park on top and find my way back down. This is so entirely unacceptable for a 3 star hotel, let alone a 5 star property. It ruined the whole vibe.

The good—-excellent waterfront property in beautiful part of lake. Overall, service is excellent-particularly Debora the front desk manager and the breakfast manager, but mostly everyone was great. There’s a concierge person (I believe the head guy), and he has an attitude problem.

The bad-you cannot walk out of property -you must take a cab or the hotel’s car to go anywhere, and that bothers me. If you plan on staying only at the property and not traveling to other lakeside towns, then this is an ideal place for you. But if you want to take frequent excursions, it’s a pain in the ——-. Getting cabs at night back to the hotel are very challenging. he grounds are really nice.

The room was poorly designed, couldn’t open a few wardrobes as the bedside tables were against them. The staff reassured us it was due an upgrade, there was no reflection of this in the price. The levels of service were questionable for the hotel rating. There is very little to do immediately adjacent to the hotel. The “courtesy” car costs 35 euros to go a kilometre! There is no free Wi-fi in spite of the high room costs....expected much more given the price

Amazing location, great and elegant old building. SPA facilities are great and all in room is complimentary. Beyond that everything is lacking in the hotel. Very unfortunate as I’ve come to expect much more from the MO. This hotel has only been open this year and this is their first summer. And so far it is not meeting expectations. Room furniture falling apart. Food is average. Service does not seem coordinated. Would recommend you visit for a meal or drink but don’t stay. Many better places on the lake.

Stunning location and views and really wanted to love the place. The staff is overwhelmed and really shows when they don’t answer the phone or can’t even schedule your taxi ride back to the train station on time; room was not ready on arrival at 3 pm. The real kicker was the lack of addressing a major issue that occurred relating to malfunction of their doors and nearly ruined our entire stay. The physical structure and management need serious upgrading to come up to MO or 5 star standards.

The setting and the hotel building itself are really beautiful. However, it is obvious that the hotel only opened 2 months ago. There was no real cohesion or sense of direction among the staff. They really need a good and omnipresent hotel manager who is visible both to guests (making them feel valued and at home) and to staff and they absolutely need an excellent maitre d’. Two of the waiting staff were excellent and had been properly trained. The rest were chaotic, as was the link between the kitchens and the tables. Food arrived cold or delayed. Orders were forgotten (I gave up waiting for a 2nd coffee). The bread for the poached eggs and Eggs Benedict was stale and inedible. Extra cutlery was given individually and placed by hand on the wrong side of the plate, rather than offered to the guests on a napkin on a tray. This is a 5 star L hotel and for the prices, a very high level of service is expected. Our newspaper wasn’t delivered on the 2nd morning outside our room as promised, so we asked the concierge for one. She promised that she would bring it to our table in the restaurant, but it never arrived. The cleaners tried to clean our room at 10am in Sunday, they should have been told that we were checking out that day.
Really good hotels at this level have an omnipresent manager who is talking to the guests, makes them feel at home, overseeing everything like a hawk. Not here. MO should have imported seasoned and experienced senior staff to establish the hotel.

This has been possibly the best hotel stay we have ever had. The staff was awesome. So friendly and helpful, particularly Erika who made our stay memorable from the very beginning. Hotel is actually a series of buildings built into the hill with the main part of the hotel at the base, along Lake Como. We were very thankful we had our own car as it afforded us tremendous flexibility to go when and where we wanted as opposed to relying on the hotel shuttle.

The food is the bistro was OK but the staff made up for what the food lacked. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of options and in a beautiful setting. Once again the staff was fabulous. We did not eat in the restaurant but heard it was very good.

Our only regret is we did not stay longer and enjoy the spa and other amenities. Just a fabulous place to stay. Don’t let the name fool you, although at one point in time the hotel did have an oriental motif but that is no longer the case. If you are staying in the Como area don’t miss this hotel

A really beautiful & tastefully designed resort .

The resort hotel is more than a resort hotel. It's so beautiful & well designed, well maintained, lovely view by the Lake Como. Staff are very nice to friendly. Being upgraded to a penthouse suite when we checked in the hotel really made a fantastic finale to our 30th wedding anniversary celebration. Only one issue is the parking. Free parking only offered to park in the garage outside the hotel which is not really convenient & not mentioned when I made the booking. Parking fee is Euro20/day if park inside the hotel. I will give a 9 out of 10 because of this issue. Would like to come back if we visit again.

We were upgraded to a spacious penthouse suite which included a kitchenette, dining area/living room, separate bedroom, large bathroom, and a terrace that was as large as the room. The decor was very attractive. The view was spectacular. The staff were very accommodating. The main building and restaurants were a short walk down a cobbled road and stone stairs. Might be difficult to manage if you have any mobility issues.

Loved it!

Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Absolutely impeccable. Expensive, but worth it! Exceptional concierge service, wonderful spa,beautiful views, comfortable beds, clean rooms. All our boxes checked.

Amazing service in a majestic setting

We spent 4 nights here and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The service, from start to finish, was truly world class and really outstanding. The property itself is superb and I think it's the best hotel on the Lake with breath taking views and a fantastic spa and the floating pool is unbelievable! It is expensive but this is to be expected from Lake Como and for a 5 star Hotel of this quality. We couldn't fault it in any way, the staff were really polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us-we even got a complimentary upgrade to a penthouse suite upon our arrival which was totally unexpected and was a lovely touch-the room was unbelievable! Thanks Casta Diva for a magical stay, we hope to visit again soon!!
