Amazing hotel in Santiago!

Amazing find after walking the Camino for 7 days. It’s a bit outside of town, but it’s also a quick ride to the airport, which is why I booked it. Front desk people were super friendly and helpful at checkin. Good in the bar was excellent. Even the pool area was very well done, even if it was too cold to go in. The room was huge, very nice bathroom, and tons of space.
Would stay here again 100%.

The hotel gives an incredible impression at first. However, many things went wrong with our stay.
Firstly, from our room you can hear absolutely everything from the corridor and from the room next door, meaning that obviously everyone should be able to hear you also.

Secondly, on our arrival we where given an adapted room, because of overbooking of the hotel. For those which are like me and did not know exactly what adapted means, is basically that instead of a bathtub or a normal shower, you have one adapted for wheelchairs. I do understand that hotels must have rooms adapted for those that need them. However, when i made the reservation and payment, I did so expecting the nice advantages of having a bathtub and a normal bathroom. And i would never expect from a 4 star hotel to be unable to fulfill those expectations. What i would have expected is that upon reservation i would have been told that the room I was paying and booking was not actually gonna be what was advertised, as this would have allow me to cancel and rebook in another place. Even though the hotel staff where very nice all over our stay, there were unable to do anything about our room.
Due to this i would not recommend or return to this hotel

Excellent 4 star hotel at 3 star pricing. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The bathroom had a deep tub, perfect for the pilgrim finishing the Camino de Santiago. The on site gastro-pub was tasty. And it's a 10€ cab ride to the cathedral/old town. There's an auto laundry nearby too!

Highly recommended hotel outside city

An excellent choice hotel just about 3 km from the city centre of Santiago de Compostela. The room is extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. We drove a rental car, so the location was fine for us. In fact, the walk to the Cathedral gave us a little feel of it was like to do the Camiño walk. It was a real value for money hotel. Free parking outside the hotel was easy. The reception staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended

No access to the a la carte restaurant in the evening, which meant we were forced to use the buffet style restaurant. Food was edible, but the meal and service were disappointing for a 4 star hotel.

Not close to the old town section and cathedral. Available free street parking in front of hotel. Very comfortable and large rooms. Nice pool for a cool off after touring the city. If you use your car to get to the old section, public parking is about 1.5 euros/hour. We used the San Clemente public parking.

One night stay

We were staying at the hotel for just one night as we had an early departure from Santiago back to Madrid. Had a room with two twin beds instead of a double or queen as hotel was full due to a music festival so comfort obviously became an issue right away. Nothing in the immediate area other than the arena and with the concert getting a taxi became an issue to get to any restaurants. We decided to eat at the hotel and to be honest a frozen dinner would be better! Food was awful, however the young lady serving the food was completely apologetic and understanding of the food would received and removed a couple items of the menu. With the music festival on we were limited for choices of hotels as we booked only 3 days prior to stay, however with more options i would choose to stay elsewhere if more than one night.

Great place to use as your base to explore Santiago and the region. It is just off the road to the airport so it makes it easy to get to. The hotel is large and lovely and the rooms are of a generous size and quite comfortable.
We will be staying here again !

Bit antiquated hotel with spacious rooms and good beds. The bathroom is of a half-open design; the shower and toiler behind doors while the wash basins were part of the room, though separated by the wardrobe. Room was well heated and non-stuffy. Not many guests in mid-January so the restaurant was closed but the 'gastro bar' provided good quality food & drinks. If you walk out of the hotel, turn right and then left, there is a street with restaurants of all types (sit-down, tapas, snacks, pizzas etc.); 10 minute walk. Located along the main road in a cluster of three similar large hotels; good access for travelers as well as for an airport layover. You need a car to get there; to/from the airport is 15 minutes.

We were walking the Camino and wanted to finish up our stay with a hotel with a pool even though we didn't end up using it as the weather wasn't great, hotel was great the room was very comfortable, the only negative was that we thought we'd have better toiletries, little outside old town but the price reflected that. Overall we had a great two night stay and the location was not a problem.

It is really a nice and comfortable hotel in Santiago de Compostella.
They let some people to smoke in the restaurant, ee left the restaurant immediately because of this.
They serve our food at the cafe. Thank you for the chef.

Nicest Hotel during our 10-day Spain Trip

Upon arrival we experienced the unusual service accorded, beginning with the portal service, valet parking, bringing our luggage to our rooms and amenities available In the hotel. It was beyond our expectations. We regretted that we stayed only over-night.
However, in the future we definitely will book in this hotel and would gladly recommend it to our friends.

Good hotel, but take care with your possessions

Stayed for one night, travelling north. Easy to find, excellent room facilities. Helpful reception staff. Close to No 6 bus route into the old town (for Catedral etc) and excellent restaurants nearby.
Would stay here again BUT, a word of caution: we left our coats in the bedroom wardrobe and did not realise this until we were 150miles further on our route. We went back to the hotel and they could not find them, in fact questioned we had left them there. We insisted and eventually, on threat of us calling the police, the woman who had cleaned our bedroom was contacted by the housekeeping manager. The cleaner had found the coats and 'hidden' them behinf a stack of pillow in a bottom corner of the linen room. If we had not returned to the hotel and been insistent, we would not have seen them again.

Overall excellent quality to price ratio. The hotel is located 3km away from the Cathedral. It is a bit of a walk, but quite interesting in the morning as it is on the Camino route. Thus from 10AM till early afternoon you will be seing the pilgrims arriving. You can also utilize public bus service to get to the center of town. The bus stop is 100 meters from the Hotel door. And you can also take a taxi which costs approximately 7 euros. In the street where the bus stop is located you have a number of restaurants, cafeterias and other stores.

Buffet breakfast is fine. Perhaps a bit expensive in the overall scheme of things. But daily buffet lunch is of good quality and overall reasonable price. Hotel staff was quite nice and tried to help in all matters where assistance was requested. Great outdoor pool which was totally empty on both days of my stay.

Large well laid out bedroom, decent breakfast. Well run hotel, convenient for the motorway and town centre. Parking in Santiago is difficult. There is a bus stop into town just a 5 minute walk away and costs 1 Euro, or there are taxis waiting near the hotel. The pool was very welcome after a day sightseeing.

The hotel room is spacious with very comfortable beds. Conference hall just at the doorstep of hotel, several restaurants near the hotel (2 mins walk) and a shopping mall with a supermarket within 10-15 mins walk. The drawback was the lack of coffee/tea maker and the very unstable wifi connection (most of the time, the internet could not be connected). But overall, this is a good hotel to stay in for attending conference.

Great hotel with superb meals.

The location of the hotel is a few miles out of the historical town, but since we were driving, that was not an issue for us. The hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and well kept with very friendly personnel. Those elements are found in many other good hotels, but what puts Puerta del Camino in a completely different league is the cuisine.

We stayed there only two nights and we made the right decision to have dinner there the first night. We couldn't wait to go back for the second day to repeat the experience. My wife rated the second dinner she had there as one of the \"best meals in my life\". The service at the restaurant is just as good as the food they prepare and the prices are more than reasonable for the quality they serve. I have already recommended this place to my close friends and we are definitely going back there the next time we are in Santiago de Compostela.

The hotel is nicer than I expected. The giant sign on the side made me think that it would be more of a normal corporate hotel. Very nice lobby and bar area with piano. Also, free computer use and printer. The pool are was nice, too, with outdoor showers and changing rooms. The room was big, clean and nice. Comfortable beds. The day time staff was very nice and very helpful. One guy helped us to find a great beach about an hour away on the train or bus. He printed us the maps and schedules and everything. He was awesome!

Only drawback is that it is a good 20-25 minute walk to Santiago de Compostela central.

Foi tudo bem. Fiquei apenas uma noite. Gostei do quarto grande,da idéia dos lavatórios serem fora da casa de banho. O colchão confortável porém os pés das camas estavam meio soltos e tortos dando instabilidade à cama e fazendo barulho à qualquer movimento. No local não tem opções de comércio próximo,o que não tem problema para quem está de carro.
