The property was excellent. We stayed in a beautiful and very well maintained suite. Location was a short walk from the center of Northstar village. Also Highland ski gondola was about a 5 minute walk away, even with ski boots on, it gave us fairly easy access to the slopes and the Ritz Carlton restaurant.

We had such a great stay at the Hyatt. We had 3 families going and the staff made sure our three rooms were as close as possible. The rooms were all well stocked with great quality kitchen cookware. Bring your own seasonings though! We loved walking to the village and highlands gondola for skiing. The ski valet was also so amazing & convenient, while underground parking is great when there's snow. Highly recommend for families who value being close to the slopes!

The room was wonderful, clean, and nice. The staff wasn't all friendly, especially in the ski storage room. What I really didn't like was the pool was cold—the water didn't reach 90 degrees, as we were told, and it only opened until 9 p.m., even though the pool was scheduled for 10 p.m. The pool also had three doors, but you could only enter and exit through the game room, which required going out to the parking lot. This was a major inconvenience for everyone staying at the hotel.

We were truly blown away at how picturesque this resort truly was when we arrived! The staff was welcoming and friendly, our room was beautiful, and access to the game room and the pool was easy. The activity staff were really kind to our daughter and made our stay even more enjoyable. Though several things were closed due to the off-season, we were still able to find things to eat for breakfast and lunch and in between exploring nearby Tahoe.

This was a shoulder season stay and the entire resort was pretty empty, almost all restaurants and shops were closed until November. Unit itself was lovely and comfortable. We had a two bedroom, two bath unit, maybe not too good for two couples as the second bedroom and bath were not nearly as upscale as the master, great for kids.

The room was clean, but the bed was horribly uncomfortable. I might as well have been sleeping on a wood plank. In addition, the hot water lasted a while 2 minutes in the shower. When I asked the front desk in the morning at check out, they said “oh yeah, this building is like that”. I don’t see how that’s allowed?

When we got there, there was no one at the desk and we had to wait about 5 mins until someone showed up, who was new and couldn’t access all of the correct systems to check us in.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Northstar! The property feels tucked away from the “chaos” of Kings Beach, giving you a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, but it’s still close enough to everything that access isn’t a hassle.

We were pleasantly surprised with a fantastic room upgrade—huge bonus points for that! The unit was spacious, well-appointed, and perfect for unwinding after a day out. That said, the only downside was the lighting: only certain parts of the unit had working lights, which was a bit frustrating at night.

Despite that, the overall experience was great, and this is definitely a place that makes us want to return. If you’re looking for a more serene Tahoe experience without sacrificing convenience, this is the spot.

The location is nice - close to grocery and restaurants. Some of the rooms could use some updates and some detailed cleaning. One of our sinks did not drain properly, a shower head needed replacement and some cobwebs in the corners of rooms. Otherwise beds were comfy, kitchen was nice and had the basics available.

Great place.

We really enjoyed the Hyatt Vacation Club. They did try to get us to go listen to a sales pitch. Had to tell them no a couple times. But that was the only negative. I spent every morning eating breakfast and drinking coffee on our balcony. Absolutely amazing.

This is a beautiful property and well taken care of. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A couple of issues:

1. Check-in was guaranteed at 4:00 p.m. local time, but our room wasn’t ready until 6:00 p.m. we were told we would get an email or text when it was ready, but got nothing and had to keep checking in.

2. We were there for a whole week and the room wasn’t cleaned once! They came in and made the bed, but didn’t even bother changing the sheets or the towels.

3. We were completely shocked at checkout that we were charged nearly $300 in resort fees that we weren’t told about.

This was exactly what I wanted. Absolutely amazing. Met all expectations.

It was wonderfully not crowded, the accommodation was as described and spacious and the amenities (pool, mini cinema, onsite parking) were great. A short drive from the mountain to some great lakeside beaches and close to restaurants and hikes.

The property is beautiful but we went during \"shoulder season\" so most everything was closed in the village. The hotel sent me a text to let me know most places would be closed before the deadline to cancel without penalty, so i was thankful for that. Heads up they will ask you to attend a timeshare presentation but it is optional.

My daughter fell ill the night before with a really bad flu. Though this location highlights its family friendly accommodations and amenities it refused to reimburse me or even offer me a credit in this situation. Would have been my first time for me and my family at Northstar. Was hoping that this trip could have started a tradition of family stays for me and my children, but looks like that is not going to happen. They have lost a likely repeat customer for good with their inflexibility and failure to understand the challenges of kids during a long flu season.

Great place but the Supervisor is rude

We love staying here however the supervisor was very rude. They did not give us the room that we had selected from Hotels.com and when we went to let them know, they made every excuse in the book and did not really try to help us. Another person that was working there Diego he ended up helping us and was very kind. We were shocked that Juana is a supervisor. She’s extremely rude and not customer friendly.
