Our impression was \"It will do\" not \"This is nice\".
Breakfast was mediocre at best. The prepared food like eggs and sausages were low grade.
Facility is aging.
Spend a few dollars more and stay at a nicer hotel.
One nice thing is that it is across the street from the beach.

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado ( al frente del mar )pero las instalaciones estan muy deterioradas y en mal estado . Las habitaciones son oscuras y el olor a humedo invaden todo el lugar. El desayuno ofrecido es aceptable. Ademas si te toca un piso 3 o 4 al utilizar ascensor parecía que se fuera a soltar cada vez que uno lo utiliza. Realmente le falta mantenimiento a todas las instalaciones.

breakfast was pretty good, staff seemed to be fairly nice, didn’t have a beach view. Pool view was OK. Pool is very, very small and close to the smoking section so you’re gonna have smoking in your face while you’re in the pool. It was pretty far distance from the seawall carnival area, where all the fun stuff is. I stayed just for one night so it wasn’t too bad but the bathtub and bathroom overall needed help! Went to take a shower and found this gooey hair brown disgusting stuff. You couldn’t even see the drain hole. It was all inside the drain. I almost threw up. I quickly put a cover over the top of it with a towel and stayed out of the bathroom as much as possible did not could not take a shower that is not from one visit that’s been there for a very long time and I have pictures. It was one night I didn’t want to complain as I was traveling with the wheelchair and needed their help with my luggage so I didn’t say anything to them. The other problem is I went to Hotels.com to book this in the third point made as an attraction to this hotel was that they provided a shuttle. It was very specific that this is a rare find. I booked it based on that shuttle. I went out for the shuttle the next morning to get to my port for my cruise and there is no shuttle management laughed at me and said they never had a shuttle and they don’t know why that’s on there but they seem to know about it and they’re not doing anything to remove that. I feel like I was involved in a baiting switch

Rooms were unclean. The first room reeked of cigarette smoke. We asked for another room... The second room smelled of mold as soon are we opened the door. Sure enough lots of mold in the bathroom ceiling. Walls were dirty. Rusted doorframes and fixtures in the bathroom.
\"No smoking\" signs were everywhere on the hotel walls, yet people were smoking everywhere anyways...even smoking marijuana just outside our room.

Be forewarned, this is a old, dirty motel. The pictures here aren't fair to customers.

Despite the bad reviews I read before booking, I wanted to give this hotel a chance. However, I think the hotel really needs a renovation. The location is good in front of the beach, and the breakfast is not the best, but it's not too bad. Honestly, I wouldn't stay here again.

WHY was there a stack of no less than 10 otherwise clean looking mattresses by the dumpster? Bedbugs much?

This place isn't just nasty... its unsafe.
My door wouldn't shut and I had to call maintenance. The handle locked up and it just kept beeping. All they did was jimmy the handle and the tongue and it closed again... But if that's all it takes, then clearly these rooms can easily be broken into.

Also my room was not at all clean. Someone else's used wet towel was in the bathroom when I got there. The floors were dirty. There was a can of chewing tobacco in the couch cushions, which I guess is just random and shows they don't really even try when they turn the room.

The shower, at best, sprayed maybe 30% of its water through the shower head, no matter how much I pulled the pin on the faucet up. The rest of the water gushed out the bath faucet, filling the tub before I could even finish shampooing.

This place is a dump.

This property has recently changed hands, it seems. I do see them working at making improvements. I loved staying there for years because of the affordable rooms and the proximity to the beach. The pool has always been nice! The staff has always been kind and helpful.

The room was clean and comfortable. I will stay there again!

It was great! I was worried with the mixed reviews on Google but when we got there it was clean! The elevator I chose to avoid due personal fear but my partner said it was probably for the best! The room was spacious for a motel! I travel a lot so it was nice to have the extra leg room. Another thing I can add is we didn't experience the mold smell others had reported. I loved the fact we were next to a Kroger and across from the beach. Breakfast was busy this morning but it was hot! The bed was super comfortable! When we come back to Galveston we plan to stay here again!

Staff members were unfriendly. The appliance’s & amenities were outdated and broken. The elevator needed to be fixed. The room door was difficult to open. The bathroom/tiles need to be updated. I was catfished by the pics. I could barely see the beach from my room window & I was unaware that it was a motel styles room. From the online pics, I thought it was a balcony. Directly across from my room was a busy street and Kroger parking lot. It was noisy. I was extremely disappointed with my stay and the room was very overpriced for the quality of the room & customer service provided. The breakfast bar was out of several items that no one was attending to. I will definitely not stay at this property again.

Property is run down rooms are half cleaned. Overall just a poor conditioned hotel. Looks like they are remodeling but looks to be a half ass one at best. I would never stay here again probably the worst experience ever.

This is my go to hotel I'm come all the time the staff knows very well. If we ask for a certain room we have no problems getting the room we like. Same for anyone else. They don't give you a hard time about changing rooms either. I like also the fact that the same price you pay for a one bed is the same price you pay for a two bed. Dogs are welcomed. No loud noise with other dogs. It well light at night. It very safe. Never seen anything bad. It very quiet. Best water pressure. Rooms very very clean. Beds are the best, very comfy. I love the comforter and the sheets. And lots of pillows. The bathroom are very clean. They provide Shampoo and conditioner and body wash in the shower there full size bottle. Also good size bar of soap. And also a bottle of lotion after you get out of the shower. There towels are thick and smell so clean. You also have a step out towel which is a bath towel to step on to after showering. Lots of hand towels. Mini fridge microwave. Big big tv. They have a safe in the room. Make sure when you use the safe that it a small charge to the room to use the safe. Make sure you don't have the kids play with the safe or you will be charged. Pool is heated. Is very clean. They have elevators, or stairs. The beach is right across the street with lots of neat by restaurants and fast food restaurants. Breakfast is the best. Lots of seating. Waffles, toast, muffins, choice of cereal, oatmeal, sausage links, eggs, biscuits, gravy, cube potatos seasoned. Juice water

I paid for a service that I didn't receive, I paid for a sea view and I got a view of the pool. The room smelled like a cigarette, the place looked dirty, a very high price for what they offer. I don't recommend it.

Th only thing great about this hotel is that is a beach front, other than that it is not a pleasant place to stay with your family. We arrived after hours and the front desk person took a good minute to even greet or acknowledge us. In addition to the poor cleanliness of the rooms this place is next to a Cemetery. We felt a bad vibe once we entered the rooms. We saw 2 spiders and seem like there were bed bugs. We ended up packing our things and leaving, my kids did not feel safe in the rooms and the wife and felt a bad vibe. Spend the extra money to keep your kids secure and safe.

Well, there is no staff service while you’re there because of course you’re preoccupied room so they’re pretty good about giving you towels when you need them things of that nature. The breakfast is OK I didn’t care for the fact that this property allows dogs to come into the eating area of where you are eating while here is floating in the air. I understand that people have service dogs, but it should be somewhere when you request paperwork to prove their service dogs when we the public. No, they are not a service dog unsanitary and what’s up with putting one ply toilet paper in the rooms for the clients and you got two ply for guests out in the lobby area …. What Allen was pretty cool and very, very helpful.

One of the front desk guys was helpful but one of them was just not interested in helping at all. He couldn’t get up to check if they had pool towels he just flat out said they didn’t and that it wasn’t the job for him to do. Mind you I was standing in front of him soaking wet. Thankfully the other gentleman over heard and got up to check and sure enough there was towels. Overall the place was average.

We arrived on Friday and left Sunday. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and we received everything we asked for. The room, elevator ( which only one was working), and walkways were not very well kept. The room we stayed in(419) smelled like dirt. The toilets were the height you would find in an elementary school. Previous stays at a Clarion were great, this one not so great. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we had a great time on the island, but we will not stay at this location again.

We stayed at Clarion Pointe Galveston and had a mix of positives and frustrations. The location was great, parking was convenient, breakfast was very good, the waffle makers were fun, the coffee was excellent, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable.
Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major issue. The floors in our room, both hard floors and carpet, were extremely dirty. Our feet and socks kept getting filthy, and we ended up wiping the floors ourselves with towels. We also saw messes in the walkways that were not cleaned up promptly. The stairwells were dirty, and one elevator was out of order.
We appreciated that the hotel offers a laundromat, but it was not very user-friendly. There is no change machine or detergent dispenser, and the machines only take quarters, which was never explained. I had to make multiple trips to the front desk, and one dryer was out of order.
Communication needs improvement. We were never told about the outdoor shower, which would have helped a lot after the beach. It took over five hours to receive fresh towels after requesting them. The hairdryer was very weak, and the alarm clock was unusable and was also the only place with USB ports. There were no privacy curtains, only blackout curtains.
On our last day, even though we had a confirmed late checkout, staff knocked loudly twice before our checkout time, which was very uncomfortable.
Overall, the hotel has potential, but cleanliness and communication need significant improvement.

We had stayed at this property before but this was not a good experience. There were so many issues. First room smelled like smoke. They had no problems moving us to another room. But then this room had problems with the shower head. It kept breaking. Couldn't control the temperature. And at one point could not turn the shower off. The staff was great with trying to fix it. They had to come by several times. Then the toilet back filled. they fixed it and the next day it was backing up. These are things you shouldn't have to worry about on vacation.

Our room overlooked the pool and beach. Very nice view. The poor was loud but that’s expected with kids having fun just something to be mindful of. Breakfast was way overcrowded, I’d recommend they enlarge the room and have at least 2 or 3 people tending it. All the juice, and water was out there was no serving utensil for the potatoes, then not enough seating room for everyone to sit and eat.

The property is sideways but on the main road, so view to the ocean is restricted. If you open the drapes for ocean view, everyone else walking by has a view into your room. Cross the main road to get to the beach. Rooms are dated. Beds are comfy, clean bedding. Toilet flush was an issue, toilet paper took forever to go down the drain. Breakfast is included. Parking is available on the property.

Room is very cramped. Bathroom looks dirty, like really needing a deep cleaning. Toilet took 5-8 flushes to free debris from bowl. Refrigerator didn't work (although it was replaced on th3 second day. Room wasn't ready for well over an hour after check-in. Only one elevator functioning and had to share it with maintenance and housecleaning most of the time. I think it is safe to say that I won't be staying here again.

We had 2 rooms. You have to pay $2 a day if you want to use the room safe.
The first night toilet stopped up, had to have maintenance come fix it.2nd night toilet stopped up, front desk said no maintenance on propery. I told them give me a plunger, I'll do it myself. 3rd night stopped up again.Got maintenance to come unstop it. MOD did offer to put us in another room but since it was late and only staying one more night, and we had 2 rooms together, that wasn't optional.
Refrigerator in both rooms froze everything in it. We tried to turn the dial down in it but it seemed frozen also.
One elevator was out of service the whole time we were there so everyone had to use the only other one. That included the maids and workers with their big carts, which become very hectic from 9 am- 12 pm.
I couldn't use the stairs because I use a scooter to get around, so I had several times I had to wait awhile. The day we checked out, we were downstairs loading our car and when we came back to the room to finish getting our stuff there was a male maid in our room(10:50am) I told him to get out we still had belongings in the room and not to come back before 11am. The breakfast room got crowded because the people from the Quality Inn next door sent there guest over to eat breakfast because there breakfast room was under maintenance or something. Expedia charged us $1067.42 for 2 rooms/ 4 nights. Told Expedia 24 hours before our trip there sir now $320cheaper but wouldn't credit us anything.
