One of the best hotels stays we have ever had. Beds and pillows were comfortable, room was well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast had plenty of variety. It was so quiet. Perfect place to stay. Only things to improve on is light in the walk-in closets. They are very dark (but two walk-in closets in a hotel room, what?!! Awesome). Public women's restroom had one stall that had a functioning door and/or toilet. Amazing stay.

The good: the room as clean; the afternoon/evening staff was very pleasant and helpful; and it was quiet and night so I got very good sleep.

The bad: at check-in, I did not have an iron for my shirts, but the receptionist retrieved one for me; the living room remote did not work and the bedroom T.V. did not receive signal during my 3rd day; I told the morning clerk on Wednesday about the remote issue, she said someone would check it, but no one did...the afternoon clerk helped to get the remotes taken care of promptly; I saw the same clerk at check-in and check-out and she was courteous and helped me throughout the process.

On the positive side, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout my stay. They were welcoming and attentive, which made check-in and any interactions pleasant. The breakfast was also good, with a decent variety to start the day.

However, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The carpets appeared very worn and unclean, which gave the space a neglected feel. The mattress in my room was uncomfortable—lumpy and uneven—making it difficult to get a good night’s rest.

The most concerning issue was finding a roach in my room (217) the night before checkout. This was very unsettling and, unfortunately, overshadowed the otherwise positive aspects of my stay. I did report this to the front desk and hope it is addressed promptly.

While the staff and service were commendable, the condition of the hotel and cleanliness issues need significant improvement.

Very friendly staff! The building is a bit of a maze. We opted for a newly renovated room, it appears they're renovating in stages. The breakfast was as expected and sufficient for our needs. The hotel is quiet. The gym is teeny tiny. The central courtyard is actually pretty nice.

The room I booked for our annual stay at this Townewood Suite was not available upon our arrival. Thank goodness you have a wonderful young lady named Shayla on staff who worked above and beyond to find a room close to the one I had booked in advance. (Apologies if I misspelled her name), but she was the best thing about our stay.
The juice machine was broken for both days of our stay. Not acceptable! The hotel in general needs more attention to cleanliness and upkeep of the physical part of the property. It is starting to feel rundown and tired.

Being that this was a marriott my expectations were conditions of marriott hotel this seem to be a hotel converting into a Marriott . I booked 2 rooms for me and my cousin for a family vacation, everything was perfect until after check out and we went to have some breakfast since the complementary breakfast at the hotel is very bad, my cousin saw 2 more charges, after the regular reservation payment plus a cleaning fee. which is returned after check out. I called immediately to ask about this error and the response was because they needed to pick up some cans or trash from the pool. It's a cleaner rate. It is an abuse just to pick up some cans, I told them that I took care of my garbage but they said that other people who were close to us left garbage and that they were with us. This is incorrect is that the pool is very small, all the people are closer to each other and we cannot take care of other people. I am responsible only for my room and the people in my room, not the other people. I asked them if they had evidence, such as photos or videos, to prove that we left the trash. They said no, we just walked and picked them up, so I asked the other people if they did it and I told them who left the trash and they wouldn't charge me. How can we do that if we didn't know all the people who were at the pool, it‘s crazy, this is abuse and discrimination. I hope the charged amount after the other cleaning fee is returned as soon as possible.

This is probably the most poorly maintained TownePlace Suites location I've stayed. There were pillbugs crawling on my floors, the shower rod was sagging so badly that the curtain wouldn't stay put. That's probably why the moisture issue and the pillbugs. There was no soap for the bathroom sink so I had to keep going for the wall mounted body wash in the shower. The bed was hard as a brick and the pillows were mush. They short sheeted the bed so I couldn't get the covers up to my shoulders until I pulled them out from the foot of the bed. There was missing trim pieces on the dining table leaving exposed nails and framing. The carpet has seen better days. Tiny little TV. Not terrible but not what I'm used to from this chain.

The most rundown sorry hotel I have visited in years and I have stayed in some terrible hotels. Room was filthy and beds practically unmade. Told after checking in their would be no room cleaning or service for my 3 days and to come to front desk if I needed any thing. This place was so nasty that I did not even stay and had to find another hotel. The fact Marriott branding is associated with this place is shocking and fooled me. I was looking for a nice Marriott type suite for my intended 3 day stay but instead found a scam. STAY AWAY. Nicer hotels on same block for very similar prices; however, they are well maintained, fresh and clean. No doubt the hotel will now respond to this review with a series of lies and misrepresentations, but believe me I stay in over 10 hotels on just this trip and am only taking my time to write this review to help other travelers avoid being scammed.

Overall service was great and the staff were friendly. Check-in was easy and amenities were well explained. What I said, the property itself is in dire need of a makeover. Paint all the doors and door frames are looking rough and chipped off. Our room door was coming off the hinge and was hard to close. Pull out couch bed had a broken spring, causing couch cushions to sag when sat on. Bottom drawer in kitchenette was off track and was in need of repair.

We received a small hotel room. There was just the bed and kitchen area, of coarse restroom. See picture of what you should get and them what you be getting.

At 3PM on 10/20/23 I arrived for check-in. The desk attendent said the room was not cleaned yet and could not give me an ETA as to when the room would be ready. I inquired if there were any other rooms ready? She said all lesser rooms were booked and no other rooms had been cleaned yet. She further informed me 'her cleaning staff' had not been able to complete cleaning by 3pm and she would not be able to give an estimate when they would be finished. I then had to cancel my reservation and I went to another hotel close by an secured a room. I was not confrontational or upset with her, but her attitude was not accomodating at all. Very Poor Front Desk Customer Service. Not professional at all.

They gave us a room they were not supposed to be renting. The a/c did not work and made horrible clunking sounds when it was on. The bed was concave and lumpy. There was supposed to be - hit breakfast, but we’re out of sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice and breads every day. There was only apples and no bananas or oranges in their designated baskets. We stayed 4 nights. Only “hot” was waffles. We asked to stay a few hours longer because of this. They agreed, then backed out of it. And the general manager was terribly rude to us and said “you think this is rude? I can show you rude! This is NOT me being rude. But I will get that way”
And we were not being argumentative in the least. Terrible service. Wouldn’t let us change rooms til the last night and it was a much cheaper room

We rented a two-queen-bed room. The internet was down and when I complained they said they had no other rooms available but I don't think that was true because it was still early. Also, the room's air conditioner was broken. I waited about 2 hours before complaining to give it time to cool down since it was turning on but it never got cold. The manager gave us another room, but it was a King bedroom and the air conditioner was broken in the living room, where my daughter had to sleep on a sleeper sofa. The manager said she was going to come up and bring us a fan and never did so I went down and she said the room where the fan was at was locked so the lady coming to relieve her would bring one from her house and bring it up to us. So weird. She never did. When I checked out, I asked the manager what happened to the fan she turned around and said its right there you never came to get it and the other manager had gotten busy because there was a fight that night. She said she discounted my room from the cost of the double queen to the king. We have stayed at many hotels this was by far the weirdest experience. Never again.

This was by far the worst hotel I’ve came across to stay at. The price was high for what was provided. When I got there I checked in which was fairly fast not bad at all. I didn’t come back to the property around 4am, I walked into my room 101 for the first time and noticed it was handicap and I did not request one. Second the shower floor was discolored with calcium build up and like the floor had not been scrubbed in a long while. It being so late I let it go. Third I walked over to the bed and it looked like it had been set up very poorly almost nothing looked neat about it. Pillows looked like they were laid on and placed back. I removed the covered sheets and there was a yellow brown stain that was about 2in in diameter right in the center of the bed. I went down to ask for new sheets from the front desk. I looked around and used the home phone to call no one showed up so I went on a hunt for the receptionist. She provided me sheets that I hd to then put on myself. Removing the pillows I noticed stains on one pillow case that resembled ones like the bed. I removed another pillow where there was a bug that had been smashed on. I went back to find the receptionist with the pillow to show her and request a new room at that point. She moved us rooms putting us in 104 that was a a lot better but still nothing close to nice for the price I paid. I would like to be contacted and compensated for the uncalled for experience with my room.

Overall enjoyed staying at TownePlace Suites in Clute over 4 days. Everything I saw was very tidy and clean, including our room and bathroom. However, don't choose this location for their breakfast because apparently they've decided they have a set amount of food they will put out and when its gone, no more is available. So even though they give 2 1/2 hours for breakfast, over an hour left before it's over and they will be out of all the hot foods; eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, and yes even waffle batter (like you think they make it from scratch?). Either the lady overseeing breakfast was told to do this or is just doesn't care. I could understand if it was close to the end of breakfast so as not to waste food, but we are talking over an hour left and sometimes not even half way through their breakfast time when they start running out of stuff. This was every morning. Also, it was pointed out to them their individual cartons of milk were expired, but they were never removed... 2 days later. Other milk that had not expired yet was still bad, more than once. So they are not keeping them chilled correctly is my guess. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional, but they referred to the breakfast staff lady and didn't change what was going on. So again, don't pick this location for including breakfast. Another complaint was the bed was a bit stiff and made noise moving or rolling around at all... not good when trying to sleep.

The AC in the hallway where our room was located was down so our room never really coold down stayed 2 nights but woke up multiple times in the middle of the night due to the heat saw that the temperature in the hall never got below 80 or so at least that's what the thermostat read although the property was nice an I wish our room would have coold down because that would have definitely made our stay a 10 out of 10 however the staff was nice an very helpful an the breakfast was decent
