The room was comfortable but it was not cleaned after our first night’s stay. When asked, I was told first that since we had the ‘do not disturb’ sign, they didn’t enter our room however, we removed the sign when we went out at 10. Then I was told that the hotel has a policy of not cleaning the rooms daily. When I asked to see where it states that, I was told that it is not in writing but it’s their hotel policy. I found it very strange and asked to speak to the manager and then the receptionist offered to clean it herself. If that is a hotel policy, I think it is very unhygienic. I also feel that it will be helpful to staff their front desk with more staff because there is always a delay with a lineup at the front.

The room I selected for just myself staying one night was perfect and I would comfortably have stayed longer if I had needed to. Very clean, all furniture and fixtures in great shape. Nice little nook with a microwave and refrigerator. More than enough closet space. Great value for the amount I paid to stay here. Will stay at this hotel again!

I am a loyal customer to this particular property when I travel to Canada, but there were some challenges this time.

1. The AC didn’t work in my room. Seems odd for a winter stay, but the room got so hot that the temp in the room was 84 degrees. I had turned off the heat and it still didn’t cool down. Turned on the AC and it wouldn’t turn on. I couldn’t sleep, got a headache. I eventually had to open the window, move the coach over next to the window and sleep in tha. The remainder of the trip I just left the unit off and it was a comfortable 74 degrees.

They didn’t have an hair dryer in the room and last and definitely the least important, I had forgotten my tooth brush and when I asked she said oh we ran out and haven’t restocked.

Bathroom faucets were leaky, and the shower faucet had a significant amount of scale reducing the water output.
The blackout blinds didn't wrap around one window, letting light in.
Sound of adjacent shower was very loud and woke up up super early.

The stay was really lovely! Everything clean, comfy, and well stocked, and the staff got us plates and utensils when we asked for some too - since our room wasn't a one with a whole kitchen. The food at the bistro was yummy as well.

All the staff was very accommodating and kind, and things were reasonably quiet too.

My only complaints would be that the window was a bit drafty, and that the TV reacted very strangely to both a laptop and a Nintendo Switch being plugged in. Neither really worked, the laptop not being able to show anything on the big screen, and the Switch being locked at a super loud (unplayable) volume for some reason haha.

Aside from that, everything was perfect, I'd readily recommend to a friend, and will probably stay again if the need arises. :)

the main problem we had was the morning after our night's stay - the cleaning staff started making so much noice outside our room at 8AM! we were up later celebrating a wedding and was expecting to sleep in- which was the main reason we decided to stay at a hotel instead of sharing a B&B - we wanted the peace and quiet in the morning as we don't get to sleep in much with kids. The cleaning staff were loudly talking to each other- ACROSS THE HALLWAY! - and all of this noise went on from 8 am to about 9:30 - vacuuming, doors opening and closing constantly... we kept on trying to go back to sleep - in and out, in and out - we missed breakfast for this reason!

Also, there was no tissue box in the room - prompting us to go get our own - I would expect this basic item in our room.

Despite the cleanliness - we cant help but rate poorly as sleep is the main component of our stay at the hotel - especially if we are staying one night and if that wasn't satisfactory - it leaves an overall bad experience.

Overall, our stay was excellent. We were upgraded from a regular king room to a room with a fireplace as it was our anniversary.
The only disappointment was the noise of a few of the guests at 3:15am in the hallway.

If you’re planning a trip to the St Jacob’s Market. This hotel is within walking distance. Our room was large and clean. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant so I didn’t rate the breakfast. As an EV car owner. There were plenty of charging stations available. The staff were very friendly, and accommodating! We recommend.

The toilet was too low and both my wife and I had problems getting up. No grab bar available for assistance. At 2:00 am I tried to use the elevator to go down to the \"market\" to buy something to eat. The elevator did not function. When I called down to report this to the desk, they seemed to know about it but were not equipped to deal with the problem. They told me I would have to wait until the \"morning\" shift came on at about 7 am. After 7 am I called the front desk and was told that their maintenance person would not answer the phone until after 8 am and that they would call me to let me know the results.. Every time I spoke to the front desk I advised the attendant of the following: Both my wife and I are handicapped and cannot use the stairs. We must be in our car and on the road no later than 10 am, due to a nurse appointment in Toronto to check my bandages, reset my pump, replenish my antibiotics and clense my picc line (I recently had spinal surgery and developed an infection). At no time did I feel that Marriot understood our potential dilema or that they were sympathetic to our situation. I did not get much sleep as I was on the phone with the front desk intermittently for over 6 hours before I was told that the elevator was now usable (it seems that the elevator went to the basement and the door was left open and thus it would not move. A company like Marriot should have staff that \"think\" about the safety and well being of their guests as well as the potential co

I never book non-refundable reservation but this to my surprise was non-refundable. I am believe in paying timely so I paid for it in advance and that worked against me. Property despite multiple requests didn’t budge.

Every hotel I have stayed had bath-tub but not this one. The washroom was not clean at all. The toilet won’t flush. The flush pressure was extremely bad as I need to flush atleast 10 times.

This place is not a value for money for sure.

We were there for only a quick night, the place seemed empty, which wasn't a bad thing. Our only complaints was regarding no stir sticks/spoons etc. for the powdered coffee creamer, there was no hand soap in the bathroom. There was only a bottle of lotion and a makeup remover wipe. Finally, the quality of the shampoo and conditioner was pretty terrible.
