My Family International Trip from USA to Middle East Got Disrupted Because of the Sudden War and No Fly Zone in June 2025. Had to Urgently Plan to Stay X 9 Nights at this Hotel. Hotel Charged Me Full Expensive Reservation Without Us Staying There for a Single Night. Politely Asked Hotel Days Before the Reservation Starting Date to Consider Alternative Solution Such as Giving Us Credit X 12 or 24 Months to be Used at The Same Hotel as Flights Resumed to Destination Per Our Initial Plan. I Even Asked Hotel to Use the Reservation Credit in Sep 2025 as We Were No Longer Able to Do July Reservation. Unempathetic, and Uncommunicative Hotel Staff. Hotel Refused Reasonable Alternatives and Kept ALL Reservation Money Unfairly Without Us Being Able to Stay in the Hotel for Even a Single Night. Extremely Disappointed as USA Citizen Docs Family

The people there are so nice. They serve with a big smile. Location is awesome next to train and marmaray where you can reach everywhere.
The area is very nice and close to most of the historical places like sultanahmet, and at sophia.

Stayed 3 nights at Seres, no AC for 3 nights, informed stuff about it, but every time you asked they said it is getting fixed, but nothing happened,it was very hot , we were unable to sleep. At night I informed staff members about it but they told me that it’s working
Shower was dirty, toilet seat was not properly fixed(kept moving), towels were old and dirty which definitely needs replacing. Breakfast is not great.
Everything was really old and needs updating. Only thing is good is their staff, nice and friendly

From “top” to”bottom” @ Seres Hotel. Top..breakfast on top floor ..great management.good food..great view. Middle..average room..somewhat dated..more than adequate. Bottom 1st floor..It seems the hardest thing to do in Istanbul is “cancelling” hotel transportation. “impossible” is a word that sometimes might be heard. Amazingly enough it might be “cash only”. Might be the only place in Istanbul that won’t take a credit card..weird.

The hotel is near all attractions, near all transportation, plenty of places to eat. The air com outside the bedroom door was very noisy. The breakfast was faultless and delicious. Excellent service by breakfast staff in the morning. The reception is not very welcoming and very rude. Don’t like any one complaining.
One night we decided to have dinner on the top floor of the hotel. The restaurant had plenty of tables but none for us was available because we did not book. That night as we was leaving the hotel the 2 men from the receptionist trying to get tourist to dine in their restaurant from the street, so they can charge them 3 times the price of food and drink. When we came back that evening I spoke to the manager at the reception. I ask him why we was not told we had to book a table at check in. He was so rude he said no you can just go and sit on any table you don’t need booking if you are staying at the hotel. I was annoyed with this. I said you need tell your staff that and give them proper policies to follow. We stayed 5 days and the manager did not even apologise.

Amazing location to see istanbul! The breakfast was delicious every morning and has a lovely view of the city. Of course the room isn’t huge but it does the job as you’re out most of the day! Staff are super helpful and there’s lot of things to do in the area and with food and shops on every corner. I would definitely recommend to stay here and would book again! Thank you Seres team x

Before everything, the staff of the hotel were amazingly helpful, respectful and professional they helped us with everything we needed there, they were more like tour guides for us they told us how to get to the places we wanted to visit (Baran and Eral at the reception are supper friendly and kind)
The location is perfectly great for tourists, everything is 5-15 minutes walk in old Istanbul city center, tram, ferry, train
and subway stations are also supper close by, the area is full of cafes and shops. The restaurant on the rooftop has a breathtaking view and its staff and very nice.
Highly recommend hotel and I’ll go back again for sure

The location of the hotel was perfect because it's close to blue mosque, haghia sophia... Plus its near the tramway station and the marmaray which made our transportation very easy but at the same time you should consider the tramway noise when booking in this hotel because it can be disturbing at night. The breakfast at the terrace was amazing, diverse, mouthwatering and with a view. The staff are very polite and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at Seres Hotel Old City. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. The view from breakfast each morning was so beautiful! Breakfast itself was plentiful and well presented. All of the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk to many of the tourist sites such as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia palace, Basilica Cistern etc. It is also within a 5 min walk to the train and tram stations. We were able to get the train to the Asain side which is only one stop away on the train. We will definitely stay at Seres hotel again when we visit Istanbul next time. I recommend this hotel!

Downgraded us and hoped we wouldn’t notice...

The hotel itself was nice, clean, and modern. The service on the other hand was crap. We decided to splurge a bit and were looking for suites for our stay in Istanbul and booked the luxury suite at Seres. Upon arriving to our room we knew something was off. Either we were in the wrong room, or they wildly exaggerated the suite and posted false photos online. We went to the front desk to ask and were told that there was a mistake with reservations and they didn’t have any suites available so we had to take the room we were in. We asked for a refund of the difference in price since we paid for a suite, but they insisted that was impossible and offered us a free transfer to the airport instead. They also told us the reservations person would be in the next morning if we wanted a better explanation. In the morning we were told the people in the suite before us never checked out and they couldn’t get a hold of them, making the suite unavailable to us. We ended up taking the offer for the airport transfer but it showed up over 45 minutes late making us really anxious that we would miss our flight. We made it in time but the free ride wasn’t worth the added stress. Overall we were highly unimpressed that they knew about the room issue all along and weren’t transparent about not having a suite available when we checked-in. It’s like they were hoping we wouldnt notice being downgraded. Also the airport shuttle was a disaster and we would have been better off in a taxi.

It is our 3rd time at Seres Hotel and as always it was just perfect.
The staff is amazing, so friendly! The receptionist is always very helpful, he has been helping us with our shuttle reservation, etc...
Breakfast is just great and the team is fantastic. A special thanks to Mr Ali who is so nice. It is always a pleasure to see him and have a chat with him in the morning.
Thanks Seres Hotel. Hopefull, we will come back soon !

OVERALL INCONVENIENT AND UNCOMFORTABLE STAY.
First day we landed in Istanbul, we reached the hotel after almost an hour of Taxi ride. Our room at Seres hotel was not ready due to some electrical issue in the room, hence the Seres staff downgraded us to room in a 1-2 star hotel close to Seres hotel called IKLAY. The room at ILKAY was extremely tight and small. It was an uncomfortable and inconvenient 1st night stay at ILKAY. 2nd night the room in Seres got extremely hot and we had to shut down the heater. Even after shutting the heater down, the room was very hot and we had to open the window to let some cool breeze in, but the hotel is situated in front of the tram rail and is in an extreme hustle bustle area and the noise dint let us sleep all night. The staff failed to provide us a fan as they had the same complaints from all other guests in other rooms and they had ran out of fans/coolers etc. Overall an INCONVENIENT AND UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE AT ILKAY AND SERES HOTEL.
Seres hotel manager MURAD THATS was aware of the situation and did not do anything to resolve it and has also denied our refund claim with Travelocity. UNPROFESSIONAL for a hotel associated with Travelocity.

Seres Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. We had a lovely time. Very well situated and very clean. Breakfast is just wonderful and Mr Ali is incredible, so friendly, helpful, polite and nice. We were so lucky to have met him. The housekeeper (7th floor) is also a wonderful person. Room was also amazingly clean. A special thanks to the guys on the reception, Emre and Emir are always so helpful. We really recommend this hotel to who want to visit Istanbul. Best place to stay!

The rooms were so tiny and not that clean and one of the rooms has a bad smell.
One of the staff lied to us.
We gave our laundry (in hotel' bags) to one of the staff, who said he will take care of it.
But later on, we discovered that they don't provide this kind of serves.

I have been as a guest in this hotel several times in the last 2-3 years. Things weren't bad and the personnel was doing their best to make you feel good during your stay.
This time, new owner and new staff and, in my opinion, everything is downgraded, beginning with the staff.
For my future trips to Istanbul I would not choose this hotel again.

This hotel is nicely located in Istanbul old city. I have stayed in this hotel many times.
This was the first time I uncomfortable in my stay. We were 2 people and were giving a room that barely fits for one person. Receptionist was unable to help us because the hotel was overbooked. The price we paid did not meet the value offered by the property !
Breakfast was ok with nothing special but the panoramic view from the top roof.
Personnel in this hotel were always ready to help

Great location, but disappointing.

I have been to Istanbul many times,and was expecting this hotel to be better. The big positives were, the restaurant manager, who could not be more helpful and cheery, his staff and the excellent variety of breakfast items on offer. Having breakfast on the top floor terrace was great and really sets you up for the day. Perfect.
As for the rest, very disappointing, the triple room was too small ,and had poor lighting, and not enough storage space for 3 adults.n.The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work, I kept telling the staff about it, but they told it would be fixed,which it never was.The tea/sugar were never refilled daily. The keycard failed to work almost every night,and had to be recoded. The staff on reception were a bit cold ,and might as well have been invisible, no welcome, no smiles, not helpful, no conversation, no interaction, very boring to be honest.
The only saving grace was the location, and the restaurant, the rest needs serious improvement.

Good Location

The location of the hotel was excellent as it was close to the tourist attractions, public transport, shopping outlets and food. Although only 1 staff spoke fluent English, communication with the other staff was not a big problem. Overall they were attentive and prompt with our requests which made the stay at the hotel memorable. Rooms a little small but clean (including the toilet).

Fairly large room with a decent bathroom and fabulous included breakfast. A good hotel to be in in Istanbul since it was with easy walking distance of all the \" necessary\" sights and the ferries to the Asian side. However, the best aspect of the hotel was the front desk staff who were wonderful. The booking at Hotel.com had gone wrong and we ended up getting 2 room on one night ( no one needs that!). I was unable to get through to a human at Hotel.com on the phone, but the hotel itself sorted it out. Very impressive.

Would highly recommend this hotel. The location was fantastic with it being a close walk to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and Grand Bazaar. Most of all the staff were lovely with one gentleman in particular always greeting us with a smile. He even helped sort out our pre booked transfer from the hotel to the airport. The cleaner called Aysha was great and always ensured the room was clean and came back to clean our room when it was convenient for me. The only thing I would say is the bathroom needs renovating as the shower bottom does look a bit worse for wear. Other than that it was a pleasant experience and would defo tell you to book if you considering it.

This hotel was one of the most comfortable place I have stayed. The staff, the location was absolutley prefect.
We could walk to all major sights in few minutes. I know the this hotel is a 3 star hotel, but in my opinion is a 5 star hotel. We had a great experience staying there.

Seres Hotel Very helpful staff.

Seres Hotel is close to the major attractions, has a trolley bus stop about 100 metres up the road and a great selection of restaurants just around the corner. I needed staff assistance twice and they couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast is a buffet and has many options. We ate in the restaurant at the hotel two nights and have no complaints about quality or service. For the price you pay, this is one of the best budget priced hotels l have ever stayed in [ and that is a few ].
I am happy to give it 5 stars in almost all categories that matter

There's no substitute for staying in Istanbul's old quarter - only a few tram stops away from Aya Sophia, the Grand Bazar, the Blue Mosque, the museums, al connected by Istanbul's excellent tram service (avoid rush hour).I had a few problems with wifi when I was there, but they got it working eventually. Also, the rooms are basic, but comfortable - you certainly wouldn't spend the day in one, but with the excitement and beauty if Istanbul, who would?

This hotel is not a luxury hotel but it is spotlessly clean and is a good place to sleep in if you intend being out and about a lot. The area felt very safe with lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

Close to all places you can visit and walk about.

2nd trip to Istanbul and stay in the same hotel. Very convienences to all the places. Good helping staff at the receiption desk. Enjoyable stay. Will go back again.

Good Value but lots of Smoke

Enjoyed our stay overall. As others have said, the location is perfect! Close to two tram stops and many of the popular sites to see. We did find that our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Though we requested a nonsmoking room, there was an ashtray on the desk and we consistently smelled smoke coming in the vents from other rooms. We opened our window and even changed rooms towards the end of our stay, thinking it might be better with different neighbors, but we ultimately had the same problem. Could be an issue you'd have at other hotels in the area too, but it was definitely a downer for us! If you're going to offer nonsmoking rooms, make sure you can deliver!

Good location

Location is great, close to the sights of Sultanahmet and the comings and goings of Eminönü. Rooms at the front of the hotel are quite noisy with trams and lots of people outside at all times if the day. Breakfast views from the terrace restaurant are fabulous.

Excellent service and very friendly welcome

Reception guys were very friendly...very clean hotel...excellent views from terrace....great breakfast...near to all the major sights...even kept our bags for the day. Free if charge until our departure from the hotel in the late afternoon,,will recommend the place to anyone

Location--v. good --tram is right outside---easy and cheap [US $ 3 ] to get to airport. Great views over Bosphorus from breakfast room Buffet breakfast ----not as extensive as some----but very good overall All staff----very pleasant and helpful English is well understood at reception Bathroom---very clean Only 2 drawbacks----room --very quiet at back, but on the small side and TV----difficult to view from centre of room --is too close to the window----needs to be placed at an angle Overall I had a very pleasant 9 day stay

Overnight Stay

Great location, room was tight, but for just a place to rest after seeing the sights, it worked. Shower was hot and lots of water pressure. Rooftop location is nice especially for breakfast in the morning. The breakfast selection is very typical of what is served for breakfast in that part of the world. This will seem very atypical to a north american. WOudl stay again.

Good Place to Stay

Good location near historical, shopping and tourist locations. The common areas were nice enough. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable - we had two double rooms for two adults and two children, I wouldn't suggest any higher density than that. The A/C took a while to cool the room down, but it got the job done. The restaurant was nice enough with good views of the city. Breakfast was a good buffet with plenty of options. All in all, I would stay here again.

The room was a little cramped but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was quite good and with great views. The hotel is convenient for the ferries, the park and lots of street restaurants nearby.

good value for money - great location. room was small...but comfortable. wifi worked well in room. Choose a quiet room at back of hotel as hotel is on main tram line - noisy outside.breakfast very good...fresh fruit - good coffee and juices...and nice pastries.would stay there again as so handy to main attractions. Can catch tram outside hotel to metro to airport...cheaply,

good beds; great location

Twin room rather small. Bathroom great - always hot water. Breakfast on roof in beautiful dining room with wonderful view of Bosphorous. Check out not until 12:00 noon which is good. We had room at rear of hotel which was great as no street noise which can be very noisy as hotel is on main road with trams and traffic outside. So if you want quiet - ask for rear of hotel. Staff very nice - but little English seem to be spoken. Would stay again.
